Mrs. Cinderella Price Glazebrook
Mrs. Cinderella Price Glazebrook, 80, of Grace Heights died Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Grace Heights. Born February 4, 1923 in Caldwell County she was the daughter of the late Andrew Ervin Price and Dolly Connelly Price. Her husband Lewis Wesley Glazebrook ; daughter Gloria Ann G. Clark; brothers Will Price, Mack Price ; sisters Pearl Piercy, Martha Glazebrook and Nancy Keys preceded her in death.
Mrs. Glazebrook was attending Victory Baptist Church and had retired from the Table Rock Furniture.
She is survived by: sons David Glazebrook, Robert Glazebrook both of Morganton, Larry Glazebrook of Laurel Bloomery Tennessee, Steve Glazebrook of Hickory; daughters Delores Nicholson of Sylva, Judy Clark, Kay Edwards, Dawn Story all of Morganton; sister Ada Price Williams of Morganton; thirty six grandchildren and forty great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton with the Reverend David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7 till 9 PM Monday, July 21, 2003 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton.

Doris Elaine Lawing Dixon
Doris Elaine Lawing Dixon, age 70, of Marion, died Monday, December 15, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Asheville.
Born in McDowell County to the late Lyda Oliver Lawing and Velsie Mae Bowman Lawing, she was a homemaker and attended Garden Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, William Dixon; four sons, Larry Dixon and wife, Janet, of Nebo, Johnny Dixon of Nebo, Greg Dixon of Nebo and Junior Dixon and wife, Sherry, of Marion; one daughter, Sharee Lewis of Glen Alpine; four nieces, Deborah Porter and husband Paul of Virginia Beach, VA, Pat Turner and husband, Jackie of Marion, Vera Wiseman and husband, Bill of Marion and Virginia Baker and husband, Virgil ; one nephew, Ricky Derrick, wife Kathy and their daughter Emily all of Asheville; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild.
Services will be held 3:00 o’clock Thursday, December 18, 2003 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverends Allen McKinney and Jim Wilken officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are in the care of Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion.
Mrs. Inez Elizabeth Paden Crowley
Mrs. Inez Elizabeth Paden Crowley, 92, of Grace Ridge Retirement Center, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at the Shytle House in Valdese. Born September 11, 1911 in McCrea Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Harvey Elmer Paden and Mertie Billman Paden. Mrs. Crowley was preceded in death by; her loving husband of fifty years Edward Lewis Crowley; sister Lourenna Paden Miller and a brother Melrose Billman Paden.
Mrs. Crowley was a faithful member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Morganton. She had taught in the public school system in Florida, had been a secretary for Southern States Coop and had been the church secretary for Upper Frankford Lutheran Parish.
She is survived by: nephews Tim Miller of Dallas Texas, Keith Miller of Bowie Maryland, niece Suze Miller of Austin Texas, niece Olivia Murray and husband Jerry of Valdese, nephew Billy Duckworth and wife Mary of Morganton, nieces Jean Alford, Trudie G. Hemmings both of Morganton ; special friend Virginia Kenndy of Morganton and a host of additional nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 17, 2004 at Calvary Lutheran Church with the Reverend Mike Riley officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.

Mr. Walter Henry Mull
Mr. Walter Henry Mull, 87, of Morganton, died Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at Grace Heights. He was born on February 5, 1918 in Burke County and was son of the late T. Henry Mull and Ella Poteat Mull
He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during WWII and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church on Bethel Road.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Sterling Conley Mull, William McKinley Mull and Gordon Edward Mull; 4 sisters, Ollie Mull Rader, Estelle Mull Puckett, Wilhelmina Mull Orders and Mary Lou Mull.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Rector of Morganton, brother, Ernest Mull; a number of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Cora Barrier.
The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Kirksey Memorial Chapel with the Reverends Tony Land and Roderick Randolph presiding. Interment will follow the service at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:30 at the funeral home.

Sandra Kay Pritchard
Sandra Kay Pritchard, 45, of Tavares, Florida, formerly of Morganton, died Saturday, July 9th at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care in Valdese. Born November 11, 1959 in Burke County, she was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death was her father, Jack Junior Pritchard and sister, Cathy Sue Pritchard.
She is survived by her mother, Janet Allman Pritchard of Morganton, her 2 daughters, Peggy Pritchard Auton and Elizabeth Ann Coffey both of Morganton; 4 sisters, Christine Rose of White Bluff, TN, Judy Kilby of Granite Falls, Susan Dearnley of Drexel and Patricia Gragg of Lenoir; granddaughter, Chelsea Leighann Auton; several nieces and nephews and special friends in Tavares, Florida.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m.Tuesday at Kirksey Memorial Chapel with Reverend Doug St. John presiding. Interment will follow the service in the Pritchard-Clontz Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.

Sao Lor
Sao Lor, 79, of Patton Road, Morganton, died Thursday, December 11, 2003 at Grace Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Laos on April 20, 1924 and was daughter of Khia Kao Lor.
She is survived by her son, Yong Hua Chang of Morganton; daughter, Chue Vang (Mee Cha) of Laos; brother, May Lee also of Laos.
The family will be at Kirksey Funeral Home on the following days: Friday, December 19th from 5:00 until 9:00 PM with services at 6:30 PM; Saturday, December 20th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon with services at 10:00 AM and from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with services 6:30 PM; Sunday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM with services at 6:00 PM; Monday services will begin at 10:00 AM. Pastor Chang Nhia Kue will be presiding. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Sunset Memorial Park in Mountain City, Tennessee.

Mrs. Myrtle Wright Hollar
Mrs. Myrtle Wright Hollar, 95, of Drexel, died Friday, April 16th at Grace Hospital. She was a life long resident of Burke County and was daughter of the late David A. Watts and Mary Ellen Carswell Watts.
She was a member of Amherst Baptist Church and had retired from Drexel Knitting Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Wright, son, James F. Wright, brothers, Lee Watts, Roy Watts, Woodrow Watts, and Joseph Thurman Watts; two sisters, Virginia McNeely and Joy Cooper.
Surviving her are one brother, Donald Watts of Morganton; three sisters, Nancy Myrick and Elbridge Frye both of Morganton; Billie Waters of Columbus, Ohio; special loved ones, Robert Lane and wife Geraldine Lane of Hudson and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service to Celebrate the life of Mrs. Hollar will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Amherst Baptist Church with Reverends Ralph P. Gouge, Ernie Richards and Ron Cooper officiating. Interment will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton.

Mrs. Nancy Buchanan Correll Hughes
Mrs. Nancy Buchanan Correll Hughes, age 79 of Morganton and former resident of Marion, NC and Gray Court, SC died Thursday, February 24, 2005 at her residence. She was born to the late John Vassas Buchanan and Emma Elizabeth McCoy Buchanan on May 12, 1925 Dickenson County, VA. Mrs. Hughes is a member of Southside Baptist Church in Morganton and a former member of Clinchfield Baptist Church in Marion, and Highland Home Baptist Church in Gray Court.
She is a former co-owner of Tipton's Shoe Store in Marion and was a participant in the 2004 Unifour Senior Games and the NC State Finals.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two husbands, Clarence A. Correll, Sr. and Russell T. Hughes, and three brothers.
Surviving are her son, Reverend Clarence A. Correll, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Rocky Mount, NC; a daughter, Elizabeth Laughridge and her husband Eugene of Morganton; three brothers, O.G. Buchanan and his wife Mary Ellen of Surf Side Beach, SC, Elmer Buchanan and his wife Velma of Morganton, and Brady F. Buchanan and his wife Carolyn of Coatsville, IN; two sisters, Mary Lowdermilk and her husband Joe of Morganton, Martha Sharp and her husband Jim of Gulfport, MS; three grandchildren, Cynthia Dowis, Penny Wofford, and Lee Laughridge; six great grand children. Also surviving are numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Southside Baptist Church in Morganton. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. at McDowell Memorial Park in Marion. The Reverend Buster King will officiate. The Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday evening at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton. Mildred Lee Willis Smith
Mildred Lee Willis Smith, 90, of 1084 Enola Road went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 22, 2003. Born March 31, 1913 in Burke County she was a daughter of the late Maggie Jane Shuping Mull and Jesse Willis.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cirlot Smith, sisters, Helen Chapman and Edna Brittain, brother, Ned Mull and a great nephew, Scott Hallyburton.
She was a charter member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She worked in a hosiery mill until her retirement.
She is survived by sister, Carrie Mull of Morganton, 2 nieces, Joyce Hallyburton and Judy Smith both of Morganton; great nieces, Michelle Nanney and Amy Smith of Morganton; great nephew, Rusty Smith. Others special to her were Chris Nanney, Jeremy Ledford, Jessica Hallyburton, Erica Hallyburton, Crystal Hallyburton, Ricky Ledford and Josh Walton.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Friday, July 27, 2003 at Cross Memorial Baptist Church with Reverends, Jerry Campbell and Clyde Buckner officiating. The body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Kirksey Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.

Mr. David Newt Banner
Mr. David Newt Banner, 71, of the Spainhour Road in Morganton died Monday, April 19, 2004 at Mission Hospital in Asheville NC. Born April 22, 1932 in Avery County he was the son of the late Pleze Banner Sr. and Carmel Banner
Mr. Banner was preceded in death by: two brothers Clarence Banner and Sam Banner.
Mr. Banner had worked for the Biltmore Dairy in Asheville for nineteen years and was self-employed in the shrubbery business
Mr. Banner is survived by: his wife Gloria Greene Banner of the home; sons Wayne Banner and wife Laura of Cleveland Ohio, Robert Banner of Fort Lauderdale Florida, Alan Banner and wife Debra, of Rocky Mt. NC, brothers Dallas Banner, Pleze Banner Jr. Gary Banner all of Newland, Don Banner of Maiden; sister Dorthey B. Parlier of Beach Mountain and eight grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton with the Reverend Dr. Ralph May officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at the Montezuma Cemetery in Newland, NC
