Hulda Alvina Huber
TERRY - Hulda Alvina Huber, 79, of Terry, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at the Glendive Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fallon with interment in the Dawson Memorial cemetery in Glendive. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.
Jose Praxedis Juarez
POWELL, Wyo. - Funeral services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Barbara's Catholic Church for Jose Juarez, 20, Northwest College sophomore who died early Saturday, Feb. 13, in a head-on collision near Bridger, Mont.
Father John Wright will be the celebrant for the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at Crown Hill cemetery.
He was born Sept. 12, 1978, in Powell, to Max and Virginia Juarez. He attended local schools and was a member of the 1997 graduating class at Powell High School. He was in his second year at NWC, majoring in general studies. Education was very important to him.
He loved all sports, especially basketball. During his high school years, he was a letterman in the PHS basketball program, and he coached fourth grade boys and girls basketball.
He worked for his uncle, Delfino Juarez, in the summers.
Survivors include his parents of Powell; his loving brother and best friend, Benny Juarez of Powell; the love of his life, Grace Albrighton, and her parents, Della and Ken Albrighton of Powell; his grandmothers, Joaquina Juarez and Lupe Gonzales of Powell; and special friend, Vaughn Castleberry of Elko, Nev. He is also survived by his brothers and wives, Max and Tina Shalom and Javier and Selena Juarez, all of Denver; and his sisters and husbands, Ninfa and Richard Fredriksz and Gloria and Don Roberts, all of Denver; his uncles, Delfino and Celedina Juarez of Powell, Hilario and Patty Juarez of Scottsdale, Ariz., Victor and Debra Juarez of Denver, Eugene and Elva Gonzales of Powell, and Chris Luna of Powell; his aunts, Tula and Frank Gonzales of Powell, Antonia and Angel Lopez of Powell, Mary and Enoch Sandoval of Denver, Lilia and Alfredo Marques of Windsor, Colo.; eight nieces, one nephew and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by an uncle, Silvino Juarez; grandparents, Praxedis Juarez and Trinidad Gonzales; and a cousin, Eugene Joey Gonzales.
Pallbearers at the funeral will be Benito Juarez, Javier Juarez, Max Juarez Jr., Phil Mullholland, Danny Sullivan and Mike Fabricius.
Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home.
Minnie M. Krone
COLUMBUS - Minnie M. Krone, 96, formerly of Reed Point, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at Stillwater Community Hospital.
Graveside memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at the Reed Point cemetery. Lowry Funeral Home of Big Timber is in charge.
Charles C. Morgan
TEMPE, Ariz. - Charles C. Morgan, 38, formerly of Billings, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at his home in Tempe.
Charles was born on Dec. 25, 1960, to Raymond D. and Leona (Holwagner) Morgan in Billings. His father preceded him in death.
He served in the U.S. Army as a cook for several years. Approximately 13 years ago, he moved to Mesa and was working at Joe's Crab Shack in Mesa as a chef. Ever since Charles was 12 years old he enjoyed cooking.
He was a member of the Mesa Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his two daughters: Jessica and Nycole Morgan of Cheney, Wash.; his mother and stepfather, Leona and Dale Dawson of San Manuel; four brothers: Miles, Richard, Rick, and James Morgan, all of Billings; two sisters: Cindy Morgan of Ogden, Utah, and Colleen Wallace of Macon, Ga.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at Affordable Alternative Cremation & Burial Services, 2202 Central Ave., with Pastor Dan Appel officiating the services. Interment will be held at a later date.
Reuben Leroy Morrison
CUSTER - Reuben Leroy Morrison, 78, of Custer, passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at Eagle Cliff Manor in Billings. Reuben was born March 23, 1920, in Pennington, Minn., son of Edward Leroy (Roy) and Carrie Mable (Gossett) Morrison.
He grew up and attended school in Bemidji, Minn. After leaving school he farmed and logged around the area he grew up.
In 1958, he moved to Custer. On June 23, 1959, he married
Opal Noreen Wick, and they made Custer their home.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include one sister, Florence of Minnesota; three sons, Bruce (Kathy) of Worden, Larry (Tammy) of Billings and Rick of Custer, and stepson, Danny (Helen) of Minnesota; six grandchildren, one great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Custer Congregational Church. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin is entrusted with the arrangements.
Elmer A. Shoults
Elmer A. Shoults, 89, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at Western Manor.
Inurnment will be at Roseburg Memorial Gardens in Roseburg, Ore. Cremation or Funeral Gallery and Cremation Society of Montana are in charge.
Morris Svela
MILES CITY - Morris Svela, 88, of Miles City, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in Gladstone, Ore.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home.
Andrew Robert Vergara
POWELL, Wyo. - Funeral Mass for Northwest College sophomore Andrew Robert Vergara, 19, of Powell, is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Barbara's Catholic Church.
Mr. Vergara died in an early morning car crash near Bridger, Mont., Saturday, Feb. 13, four days before his 20th birthday.
He was born in Powell on Feb. 17, 1979, son of Robert and Barbara (Menke) Vergara. He attended Powell schools and was graduated from Powell High School in 1997. At NWC, he was a general studies major.
The family has special memories of Andy. He loved his family and considered anyone he met his extended family. His best buddies forever will be Mike and Jose.
He enjoyed being in the mountains, especially the "good times" at the Hillberry Cabin and on the North Fork of the Shoshone.
A family remembrance is of Andy saying, "I am my own person." This individuality benefited many. The family says, "We will always know him for that cool 'Andy' smile."
Survivors include his parents of Powell; a brother, Michael Patrick Vergara and his wife, Gabri and nephew, Addison C.M. Vergara of Greeley, Colo.; a sister, Lori Ann Vergara of Lafayette, Colo.; his godparents, Art and B.G. Coughenour of Powell; his grandmother, Joan Thum of Tucson, Ariz.; special friends, Krystle Kobbe of Powell and Kelli Ames of Park City, Mont.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, Joseph Vergara; grandmother, Bernice Vergara; and grandfather, Louis Menke.
Cremation has taken place. Father John Wright will officiate at the funeral and at burial of cremains at Crown Hill cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers at the funeral will be uncles Mike Menke, Pat Menke and Bill Menke, Mike Vergara, Tony Bonanno, Art Coughenour, Zern Richendifer and Jim Cunningham.

Lucy Carol Singleton Woods
Lucy Carol Singleton Woods, of Aspen Meadows Nursing Home, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, after a 10-month courageous battle with brain cancer.
Born Oct. 13, 1931, to Phillip Jackson Singleton and Ouida Ann Carnahan in Alexandria, La. Lucy graduated from Bolton High School in 1948 in Alexandria. She attended Northwestern State College in Nachitoches, La., graduating in 1951 with a bachelor degree in dietetics. She did her interning at the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. A new job led her to Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas.
On June 10, 1955, at St. James Episcopal Church in Alexandria, she married
Howard Frederick Woods of Hobson. They moved to Hobson after their marriage where they raised their three children. She was a consulting dietitian for two years at the Valle Vista Nursing Home in Lewistown. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and weaving. After moving to Billings in 1987 she found a new interest with continuing on with her genealogical research that was handed down to her from her Mother.
She is survived by her three children, Cindy Ellen Thomas and husband, R. B. of Riverton, Wyo., Howard Frederick Woods Jr. and wife, Renee of Kalispell, and Jeffery Peter Woods and wife, Maureen of Fargo, N.D.; five grandchildren, Peter Jeffery Thomas, Austin Daniel Woods, Evelyn Joy Woods, Harrison Frederick Woods and Ethan Thomas Woods. She is also survived by her sister, Cecile Dean of Baytown, Texas; her aunt, Lucile Carnahan Eason of Alexandria; and her dear friend, Maggie Miller of Worden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Frederick Woods, Dec. 22, 1977; a sister, Dorothy S. Cooper; and two brothers, Philip Jackson Singleton and Francis Douglas Singleton.
Inurnment of cremains with memorial services will take place 11 a.m. Feb. 20, 1999, at Lewistown City cemetery. Memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Patient Courtesy Transportation, 514 14th St. W., Billings, MT 59102.

CODY, Wyo. - Lester Jerome Bibler, 59, passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at his home in Cody.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in Ballard Funeral Home in Cody with interment in Riverside cemetery.
Simon Flatmouth BlackBird
LODGE GRASS - Simon "Sammy"" Flatmouth BlackBird, 69, of Lodge Grass died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in the Crow Agency IHS Hospital.
He was born Dec. 26, 1929, in Pryor, a son of Daniel Other Black Bird and Esther Bird Hat. He was adopted by Flatmouth. He grew up and attended schools in Pryor. He enlisted in the U. S. Army Feb. 20, 1951, served during the Korean Conflict, where he was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Navy Unit Commendation Emblem, Marksman Badge with Carbine Bar, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation Badge, Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and later received his Honorable Discharge.
Sammy worked for IHS as a Health Aide, a school counselor for Lodge Grass School and as a self employed haying contractor in both Pryor and Lodge Grass areas.
Sammy was dedicated to God and has served as Pastor of the Lodge Grass Creek Church of God for many years. He was often asked to sing Crow Gospel songs.
He married
Priscilla Greybull on Jan. 14, 1954, in Crow Agency and the couple made their home in Lodge Grass Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Russell Flatmouth, a brother Lawrence (Archie) Flatmouth and a sister Fanny DeerNose.
Survivors include his wife Priscilla, two sons, Ronald (Francine) Flatmouth Sr. of Benteen and Leon (Lorene) Flatmouth of Lodge Grass; three daughters, Rebecca Flatmouth of Billings, Claudia and Kathleen Flatmouth of Lodge Grass; eight grandchildren, Ronald, Dominic, Brandon, Johnna, Candice, Carlene, Shamon and Jeremy; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Lee and Dominic Jr.; one brother, Robert Russell of California; numerous nephews including, Bill Gardner, Melvin Stops of Lodge Grass, Merle Plain Feather of Pryor and Hartford Stops of Crow Agency; numerous nieces including, Bertha Old Bull, Katherine Old Crow of Lodge Grass, Irma Jane Bird Hat, Warlene Comes Up of Pryor and Violet Enick of Crow Agency; two adopted sons, Robert Nomee of Lodge Grass and Daniel Boling of California; adopted daughter, Georgia Not Afraid Howe and son Dusty Howe of Billings.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Lodge Grass Catholic Church Gymnasium. Interment with military honors will follow in the Lodge Grass cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Elsie Gladys Lindell Blee
Elsie Gladys Lindell Blee, 91, died at St. Johns Lutheran Home on Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999.
The daughter of Bernard and Cora Lindell, she was born on Jan. 16, 1908 in Milford, Neb. As a child she moved with her family to the homestead in Peas Bottom between Custer and Hysham, later moving to Billings in 1926.
Elsie was the oldest of 14 children. She married
Carroll R. Blee on Oct. 15, 1934 and resided at 536 Howard Ave., until moving to St. Johns Lutheran Home in October of 1992.
Mrs. Blee was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She had a very unique sense of humor and her favorite past-times were fishing and playing with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph and his wife Helen of Huntley, and Leland of Billings; a daughter-in-law, Juanita Blee of Billings; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny of Billings, and Clarence and his wife Aggie of Texas; and a sister, Cora Laber of Billings. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Carroll, son Richard, great-grandchild Aiyana, and 10 brothers and sisters.
Family and friends will gather at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18 at Sunset Memorial Gardens for a graveside service. No visitations are planned. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Danyel Hergenrider Blood
Zachary Jeremiah Blood (Skorupa)
BRIDGER - Danyel Hergenrider Blood, 23, and Zachary Jeremiah Blood, 22, of Bridger, died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Bridger early Saturday morning, Feb. 13, 1999.
Danyel was born the daughter of Duane and Dena (Poulton) Hergenrider on Jan. 22, 1976, in Burley, Idaho. She grew up in Belfry, attended Belfry Public Schools, graduating in 1994, then attended Brigham Young University. She was very active and excelled in basketball, volleyball and track. She loved her association with and was influenced by all her coaches. She was an honor student and active in her church. During and after high school, Danyel worked at Joan and Bill's Family Restaurant in Cooke City. She particularly enjoyed the outdoor environment and the people she met and worked with during this time. Danyel especially loved her family life and was best friends to both her brother and sister, spending many hours working and playing sports with them.
Zac was born on June 29, 1976, in Billings, the son of David M. and Elanna M. (Stadtfeld) Blood. His father was the choral music teacher at Laurel High School. He died in 1980.
He grew up helping his dad, Larry, on their family ranch, south of Bridger along the Clarks Fork River. Zac attended Bridger High School and was awarded several awards in art.
He delighted in being "big brother" to Flint and little brother to Ty. He cherished the sparkling friendship of the "Hoskin" clan and the "DeRudder Family" - especially during sugar beet harvest truck driving time...a Ford of course!
Zac (Z-man) and Danyel knew each other during their school years and began dating in the fall of 1993. Zac attended all of Danyel's basketball games. They worked together in Cooke City and enjoyed all of the people they met there. Zac and Danyel had many friends with whom they shared their fun times. They were married
in Belfry on Dec. 22, 1995, at the Belfry Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
They made their home in Bridger on the John Skorupa Ranch where Zac worked with his grandfather and father. Danyel worked at the Beartooth Memorial Hospital in Red Lodge as a Respiratory Aide. Danyel loved her work at the hospital. Zac was dedicated to the Belfry Volunteer Fire Department and was always one of the first ones to respond to a fire call. They were each others own best friends and were involved in many community activities. Zac and Danyel helped everyone who had needs - from Zac driving beet truck to Danyel helping her grandmother and her special friend Ralane Teesdale. Zac and Danyel had a special relationship with Flint, Zac's brother. They spent many evenings together. They always put others first.
"This young couple had a greater positive impact on the lives of others than most people have in a lifetime."
Danyel's survivors include her parents, Duane and Dena of Bridger; brother, Dustin Hergenrider and his wife Shanna of Arvada, Colo.; sister, Danae Janis and her husband Blair of Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandparents, Alfred and MayBelle Hergenrider of Bridger; grandfather, Norman Poulton of Oakley, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Josephine (Gorringe) (Poulton) Bichsel and great-grandmothers, Marion Sagers Gorringe, and LuLu Pearl Poulton.
Zac is survived by his mother and step-father, Elanna and Larry Skorupa of Bridger; brother, Tony Blood from California; sister Gretchen from California; brothers; Tyler Blood and his wife Joni of Billings, Michael Blood of San Diego, Calif., and Flint Skorupa of Bridger; grandparents, Warren and Myrna Stadtfeld of Cody, Wyo.; grandmother; Vera Blood of San Mateo, Calif.; great-grandmother Valenna Steiner of Seattle; step-grandparents, John and Alvina Skorupa of Bridger. He was preceded in death by his father, David and grandfather, Albert Blood.
Funeral services will be held for Danyel and Zac on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at the Belfry Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Bridger cemetery. There will be a reception at the church following the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Belfry Fire Department or Beartooth Memorial Hospital. Dahl Funeral Chapel of Red Lodge is in charge of arrangements.
