Anna A. Jansen
WOLF POINT - Anna A. Jansen, age 82, died on Jan. 28, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital in Billings.
Anna was born on Oct. 1, 1916, in a log house 1/2 mile east of her current residence. Daughter of "Jack" and Emma Heser, she attended country school. She worked for different people doing house work and then on Oct. 19, 1939, she married Albert J. Jansen in Wolf Point and raised two children. They lived in Wolf Point until moving to a farm east of Wolf Point. They later bought a farm south of Wolf Point and lived there ever since.
Anna was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Wolf Point. She enjoyed braiding rugs, making artificial flowers and star quilts, and liked gardening.
Survivors include one son, Ray Jansen of Wolf Point, one daughter, Janice Reed of Edgar, six grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Jansen,
Visitations will be held on Sunday, Jan. 31, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Clayton Memorial Chapel. A vigil service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. at Clayton Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Wolf Point. Rev. Fr. Steve Zabrocki officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Church following the burial. Clayton Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor Caroline McEldowney
Eleanor Caroline McEldowney, born May 14, 1925 in Lemmon, S.D., first born daughter of Adolf Pfaff and Karolina Ehli Pfaff. She died Jan. 28, 1999, in the presence of her children.
Her early childhood was spent in North and South Dakota, moving to the Billings area in 1937.
On Aug. 11, 1941, she married Jack Lewis McEldowney in Joplin, Mo. To this union five children were born.
Her days were filled raising her family and working as a waitress until her retirement.
Family gatherings, cooking, sewing, her garden and fishing trips occupied her retirement.
Those who mourn her passing: Children - Pat Dahlgren of Casper, Wyo.: Frances Bechtold of Grand Junction, Colo.; Robert and Donna McEldowney and Carol Krank, all of Billings; nine grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren, one yet to be born great-great-grandchild; sister Pauline Kranzler of Billings and all who knew and loved her.
preceded in death by husband Jack in 1984, son Ronald in 1982 and loving son-in-law, Victor Krank in 1998.
How wonderful and special she will always be to us.
Memorials to Big Sky Hospice, P. 0. Box 35033, Billings, Montana 59107.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the Smith Downtown Chapel. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Monica M. Nordberg
CODY, Wyo. - Monica M. Nordberg, 89, formerly of Powell, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at West Park Long Term Care Center.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at St. Barbara's Catholic Church with interment of cremated remains in Crown Hill cemetery, both in Powell. Ballard Funeral Home is in charge.

Barbara Lanchbury
CODY, Wyo. - Barbara Lanchbury, 68, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at her home.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at the First Presbyterian Church. Ballard Funeral Home is in charge.

Duane J. Parks
MILES CITY - Duane Jerome Parks, 83, of Miles City, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital in Billings.
A private family prayer service will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home.

Gertrude Thompson
MILES CITY - Gertrude Thompson, 96, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at the Holy Rosary Health Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Paradise Methodist Church in Paradise, Kan. Interment will be in the family lot in the Lincoln cemetery in Lincoln, Kan. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Beth Allyn Ondov
OMAHA, Neb. - Beth A. Ondov, 46, of Omaha, Neb., died unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, in Omaha. The daughter of Daniel and Lorraine (Juengel) Ondov, she was born in Missoula, Mont., on Nov. 9, 1952.
Survivors include her parents, Rev. Daniel and Lorraine Ondov of Billings; her two brothers, David M. Ondov (Carol) of Kalispell, Mont., and Jonathan R. Ondov (Ming) of Federal Way, Wash.; her sister, Rachel J. Feigley (Pete) of Townsend, Mont.; her namesake niece, Sarah Beth Ondov and three nephews, Mark Ondov, Likhi Ondov, and Elisha Ondov,
Visitation will be held 12 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb.1, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist, 1001 Alderson Ave. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2336 St. Johnís Ave., Billings, MT 59102 or the charity of oneís choice.

Loretta Irene Robbins
POWELL, Wyo. - Loretta Irene Robbins, 78, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at the Powell Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home, and one hour before the service on Tuesday, Feb. 2. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the First Baptist Church in Powell. Interment at Crown Hill cemetery.

Betty R. Sturtz
MILES CITY - Betty R. Sturtz, age 68, of Miles City passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Betty was born in Bowman, N.D., on Nov. 6, 1930, the daughter of Harold 0. Sr. and Ruth A. (Waller) Rue. She attended grade school in North Dakota and then moved to Miles City in 1946 where she graduated from Custer County High School in 1948. Following graduation, she attended Eastern College in Billings where she received her teaching degree. She then returned to Miles City where she taught at rural schools and grade schools in Miles City for 28 1/2 years. On June 6, 1953, she married Johnny A. Sturtz in Miles City. In 1989 she retired and has remained in Miles City.
Betty was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Retired Teachers Association, and the Christian Womenís Club. Betty enjoyed embroidering in her spare time. She loved teaching and said teaching was not work.
Betty is survived by her son, Mike Sturtz and his wife Bea of Miles City; a brother, Harold 0. Rue Jr., of Big Timber; and five grandchildren: Jonathan and Dylan Lawson; and Stephan, Maria, and Aaron Sturtz. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnny; and her daughter, Ruth Ann.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County cemetery.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.

Esther Ellen Ulrich
MILES CITY - Esther Ellen Ulrich, 57, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City after a short battle with cancer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the Chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County cemetery.

Richard Wilks
Richard Wilks age 70, of Billings, died on Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, of emphysema.
Dick was born on Oct. 20, 1928, to Ralph D. and Bernice Wilks. He attended school in Billings and on Dec. 2, 1950, he married the love of his life, Francis Bush. Their love was a unique and special one.
While growing up he participated in boxing and thoroughly enjoyed watching the sport for the rest of his life. He loved to go fishing and hunting also.
Richard worked for several paint contractors including Midland Paint, Bectal Construction and Mooney Construction.
He is survived by his wife, Fran; children: Randy Wilks (Karen), Debbie Mulkey of Las Vegas, Stacey of Great Falls, Greg of Billings. Dick had three grandchildren: Jayme and wife Angie, Jessica Wilks and Craig Wilks of Las Vegas; numerous nieces and nephews; also brothers: Bob Wilks and Jeff Mullins and a sister, L.L. Smith all of Billings.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Louise Letasky, brothers: Danny Ray and Claude Mullins.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the Smith West Chapel, 304 34th Street West. Cremation will follow the services.

Virginia E. Basgall
Virginia E. Basgall, 77, of Billings, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at Aspen Meadows Retirement Community.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Little Flower Catholic Church. The Cremation Society of Montana and Cremation or Funeral Gallery were in charge.

George Belus
LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. - George Belus, 91, formerly of Sheridan, Wyo., died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Horizon Home Board and Care.
Viewing will be daily from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Champion Funeral Home until the day of services. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with interment in the Sheridan Municipal cemetery.

LaTisha Joy Brien
GRANT FALLS, Minn. - LaTisha Joy Brien, 21, of Grant Falls, formerly of the Lame Deer area, died Jan. 15, 1999, in Minnesota.
She was born July 22, 1977, in Crow Agency, Mont., a daughter of Robert Brien III and Alvina Nightwalker. She grew up in the Lame Deer area and attended schools in Lame Deer, Colstrip and graduated from the Chumawau Indian School in Oregon. She later attended Dull Knife Memorial College in Lame Deer, where she was an honor student.
LaTisha modeled clothing in Oregon and Colorado, worked as a gaming machine technician at the Charging Horse Casino in Lame Deer, and most recently at the Fire Fly Casino in Minnesota. She was an enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and was also a descendent of the Crow, Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes and the Northern Cheyenne Chief Roy Nightwalker. She was a member of the Whistling Water Clan.
She was an active woman, who enjoyed dancing and listening to all forms of music, as well as actively participating in pow-wows. Her outgoing personality enabled her to have many close friends.
LaTisha was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Brien Jr. and Roy and Gladys Nightwalker Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Angel-Brien of Hardin, Mont., and Slade Crowsbreast of Minnesota; her mother, Alvina Nightwalker of Lame Deer; her father, Robert Brien III of Lame Deer; one sister, Phylliss (Adam) Brien-Wolf of Lame Deer; four brothers, Robert Shane (Trina) Brien IV of Colstrip, Bruce Brien of Oregon, Dustin Michael Brien and John Brien of Lame Deer; her grandmothers, Agnes Faraway of Crow Agency and Ella Tallbull of Lame Deer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of close friends.
Wake services will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Lame Deer Catholic Church Social Room. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday in the Lame Deer Boys and Girls Club Gymnasium. Interment will be held 1:30 p.m. in the Lodge Grass cemetery. A candle-light vigil is scheduled for 5 p.m., Wednesday, in front of Sacrament Church. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

Shirley June Collins
LOVELL, Wyo. - Shirley June Collins, 49, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at her home.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Haskell Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, in the Lovell LDS Stake Center with interment in the Lovell cemetery.

Aloys H. Diekhans
GREAT FALLS - Aloys H. Diekhans, age 96, passed away Jan. 23, 1999, at a local nursing home of natural causes.
Aloys was born Oct. 5, 1902, in Neuenkirchen, Germany. In 1935 he married Helen Dickman in Oto, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1991.
Aloys grew up and attended school in Neuenkirchen. He came to the U.S. in 1925 when he moved to Montana and worked on his uncle's farm in the Highwood area. Aloys then farmed and ranched in the Fort Benton and Choteau areas, before moving to Great Falls in 1948, where he farmed until he retired in 1965. After he retired he helped as a custodian at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include his daughters: Mary Bailly and husband, Ernest of Great Falls; Helen Bailly and husband, George of Fairfield; Angela Core and husband, Jim of Vancouver, Wash.; Beatrice Diekhans of Spokane, Wash.; Barbara Diekhans of Billings; and Therese Diekhans of Seattle; sons: John Diekhans and wife, Natalie of Billings; Al Diekhans and wife, Cecelia of Great Falls; Carl Diekhans and wife, Nadine of Elko, Nev.; Leo Diekhans and wife, Karen of Wapakoneta, Ohio; and Frank Diekhans of Great Falls; a sister, Katrina Eusterbrock of Germany; a brother, Joseph Diekhans of Fort Benton; 36 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
A vigil service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the O'Connor Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olivet cemetery. Memorials are suggested Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. The O'Connor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
