Marge Neville
Marge Neville, 81, of Billings, passed away Tuesday morning, May 4, 1999, at Aspen Meadows Retirement Community. The daughter of Edmond and Emily DeBrocke, she was born Feb. 16, 1918, in Norway, Michigan.
Marge came to Montana in November of 1935. On June 19, 1936, she married
Edward Danssaert and out of this union was born three daughters, Joanne Love, Dorothy Clark and Jennett Danssaert. They later divorced and Edward died in 1994.
She then married
Austin Neville and out of this union was born a daughter, Alice Krug. Austin preceded Marge in death in 1991. Marge worked various jobs until she retired from Maverick Gas Stations in 1990.
She was very active at the South Side Senior Citizen's Center and knitted hundreds of caps a year to donate to the North Side Senior Citizen's Center. She received many awards from the Senior Citizens for her many hours of dedicated work and service. In December of 1998, she moved to Aspen Meadows Retirement Community and continued knitting caps for the other cancer patients and staff. She loved playing bingo, dancing, listening to country music, and her flower garden. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister, and a brother.
In addition to the children listed above, she is survived by her three sisters, Jeanette Rankin, Joyce Salverson, and Janice Musch; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 7th, at Michelotti, Sawyers and Nordquist with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Big Sky Hospice, P.O. Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107.

WIBAUX - Elmer A. Petermann, 86, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in Glendive.

William 'Scott' Roberts
RANGER, Texas - "Scott" Roberts of Ranger, formerly of Billings, passed away on Friday, April 30, 1999, at his home.
Scott was born March 3, 1955, in Billings, the son of Roy William and Betty M. Roberts.
He is survived by his daughters: Renan of Montana, and Angela and Melissa of Texas. He is also survived by his mother, Betty Wolff of Billings; sister, Arloa Knight of Ranger, Texas; brothers: Keith (Doris) of Ballantine, Mont., and Michael of Billings. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in August of 1996.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Edward Shields Jr.
POPLAR - Edward L. Shields Jr., 45, of Poplar, passed away Saturday, May 1, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital in Billings.
Visitations will be held Thursday afternoon, May 6, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 7, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will be in Poplar City cemetery. Clayton Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point is in charge of arrangements.
Bessie E. Snyder
THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. - Funeral services for Bessie E. Snyder, 91, will be Wednesday, May 5, 1999 at 2 p.m. at Mortimore Funeral Home in Thermopolis. Mr. Cal Voigt of Thermopolis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Monument Hill cemetery in Thermopolis. Mrs. Snyder passed away May 4, 1999, at her home in Thermopolis after a long and eventful life.
She was born March 9, 1908, to Peter and Christina Vanzyl near Billings. She attended schools in Billings and graduated from high school in Bridger, Mont. She attended nurses training at Billings Deaconess Hospital and was in one of the first graduating classes. She worked in several local hospitals in Billings and later worked for a year at the Valley Dude Ranch near Cody.
She married
Perry Snyder on Feb. 9, 1935. They purchased a ranch on the Greybull River and lived there for about 25 years. They later moved to Basin and then to Thermopolis where they owned and operated the Thermopolis Lumber Co. Bessie was also employed by the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital for over 15 years.
One of Bessie's loves was traveling, which she did after retirement. She also enjoyed reading and yard work. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and a worker for Meals on Wheels for over 10 years.
She is survived by her niece, Barbra Dennison of Odessa, Texas; her nephews, Victor McKinney of Billings, David Vanzyl of California, and Bob McKinney of Billings, Mont., who she raised as her son. She is also survived by her very good friend Sarah Grotz.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters, Grace, Gretta and Henrietta and her brother John.

Gerald F. 'Jerry' Buller
SITKA, Alaska - Jerry Buller, 73, a Billings native, died Friday, April 30, 1999 at his home in Sitka of cancer.
Mr. Buller was born Dec. 21, 1925 in Billings, the son of Joseph B. and Meta A. (Albers) Buller. He was raised in Billings, attended Fratt Memorial School and in 1943 graduated from Billings Senior High School.
From 1943-47, Mr. Buller served with the Seabees in England. After his discharge, he attended the University of Montana, graduating in 1950 with a degree in forestry. He went to work for the U.S. Forest Service in 1950 in Whittier and Palmer, Alaska. In 1952, he moved to Sitka, where he worked as a longshoreman, retiring in 1983.
Mr. Buller was a life member of Elks Lodge No. 1662 in Sitka, St. Gregory's Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge and the Sitka volunteer fire department.
Survivors include his two sisters, Dorothy Buller and Magdalene Buller Winslow, both of Billings: three brothers and their spouses, John A. and Shirley Buller of Santa Rosa, Calif., Russell J. and Delores Buller of Clarkston, Mich., Henry A. and Kerstin Buller of Spokane, Wash.; sister-in-law, Jeanne Buller Bishop of Billings; 19 nieces and nephews, 34 grand-nieces and nephews, and six great-grand-nieces and nephews.
In 1967, a brother, Joseph W. Buller of Billings, preceded him in death.
Rosary will be recited 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 1999 at Holy Rosary Church in Billings, followed by Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to Billings Central High School Library, 3 Broadwater Avenue, Billings, MT 59101. Dahl Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Helene Elizabeth Buzzetti
Helene Elizabeth Buzzetti, 81, of Billings died at her home on Saturday, May 1, 1999, of natural causes. Helene was born in Plevna on June 8, 1917, the daughter of John Adam and Frances (Harold) Weinschrott.
After graduating from Plevna High School, she went on for nurses training at St. Vincent's Hospital, continuing working there as a registered nurse. Helene married
John Buzzetti Jan. 6, 1943, in Hardin. During WWII, Helene worked at Heart Montana as a nurse. Helene also worked at the Allard Clinic in Billings. She later worked in the County Assessor's Office for 20 years, retiring in 1981 at the age of 64.
Survivors include her son, Frank, wife Renee and granddaughter, Sarah Buzzetti, of Billings; two brothers: Joseph Peter Weinschrott of Whitefish, and Charles Weinschrott of Billings; and two sisters, Mary Muth and husband Peter of Santa Anna, Calif., and Agnes Munsell and husband Wes, of Miles City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1954; brother, John Weinschrott, and sisters, Anna Hannah and Frances Weinschrott.
Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 12 noon on Friday at St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral. Rite of committal will be in Rockvale cemetery.

BEACH, N.D. - Lauretta Pauline Hartmann, 83, of Beach, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, in St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck.

Father Thomas Francis Powers
Thomas Francis Powers, son of Charles J. Powers and Josephine Fitzgerald, was born in Conshohocken, Pa., on Jan. 31, 1914. He received elementary schooling in Philadelphia at Saint Columba's Parochial School. Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia, and Mount Saint Mary's, Emmetsburg, Md., provided him with a secondary education.
He attended Saint Charles Preparatory Seminary in Overbrook, Pa., and then joined the Diocese of Great Falls. He began his training in Saint Thomas Theological Seminary inDenver where he completed the philosophy curriculum and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in June 1936. He continued theological studies at the North American College, Rome, Italy. In the chapel of that college, Thomas Powers was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Great Falls by the Most Reverend Ralph Hayes on March 7, 1940.
In July, when Father Powers arrived in Montana, he was given the usual brief assignments at first - a month as assistant in Saint Philomena's in Sidney and two months as chaplain of Columbus Hospital, Great Falls. In October, he was given a more permanent position as assistant in Saint Ann's Cathedral Parish, Great Falls, where he served until March 1943. He had a brief stay as temporary pastor at Saint Mark the Evangelist, Belt, before going on to be assistant in Sacred Heart, Miles City, from June 1942 to July 1947.
Five years later he was transferred to Saint Patrick's Parish in Billings as Administrator. Two years later he was appointed superintendent of Central Catholic High School in Billings. In the years 1953 and 1954, Father Powers managed both the construction of an addition to Central Catholic and the renovation of Saint Patrick's Church in preparation for the Diocesan Golden Jubilee celebrations. In March 1960, he was reassigned as pastor to Saint Philomena's Parish in Sidney just as the parish was beginning the process of constructing a new church and rectory. After the new plant was completed and rededicated to the patronage of Saint Matthew the Apostle, Father was again transferred. In addition to the many responsibilities of a pastor, Father Powers also contributed a great deal to the diocese by his labors in the Priests' Senate as a Rural Dean and as a Diocesan Consultor.
A new parish was erected in Billings in 1965, and Father Powers was handed the mandate to oversee the construction of the parish plant for Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish. He remained pastor of this parish until his retirement on July 1, 1979. At first he resided in Holy Family, Great Falls, where he devoted much of his time to work in the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal. He returned to Billings in November 1981, living in a private home and, in 1985 moving into the newly constructed residence for retired priests, Regina Cleri.
Father Powers was a member of the Knights of Columbus, serving many years as chaplain. He belonged to the Elks Lodge and was a very active alumnus of the North American College, Rome, Italy.
Survivors include his brother, William J. Powers of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; three nephews and three nieces, including Sister Angeline S.S.J., of PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charles J. Jr., and two sisters, Edith A. Powers and Florence E. Clawson.

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Mattie Nora Davis, 82, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at Sheridan Manor.
