Gary Wallace Adler
ST. IGNATIUS - Gary Wallace Adler died Jan. 15, 2003, in Seattle.
He was born Nov. 1, 1951, in Seattle, to Wallace and Lilly Adler. The Adler family later moved to the Ronan area where Gary grew up and attended school. He later joined the Army and served in Germany.
He married
Anita Matt in May 1972 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, at the Hitching Post. The couple had one child, Daniel Adler, and were later divorced.
Gary went on to receive his education in the environmental sciences and continued with his lifelong love of electronics. Gary was very proud of his German and Norwegian heritage.
His parents preceded him death.
He is survived by five brothers, Chuck (Jean), Ed, Roy (Dee), David and Fred (Donna), all of Seattle. He also leaves behind a special companion, Linda in Seattle; his son, Daniel Adler (Laura); his granddaughters, Danielle Adler and LaGlen Mitchell; and a grandson, Jeremiah Mitchell, all of St. Ignatius.
Cremation has taken place and private family services are planned at a later date.
Kathleen Mary Frances Schlueter
KALISPELL - Kathleen Mary Frances Schlueter, 83, died at her home in Kalispell on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003. She was born on Nov. 19, 1919, in Pearce, Ariz., to George Idaho and Mary Kathleen (Meenan) Moffett.
Kathleen was raised in Butte, graduating from Butte High School. She attended Flathead Community College earning associate degrees in applied science and art.
She has no survivors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Risen Christ Catholic Church, with Father Rudolph Bullman celebrant. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at the church and viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Johnson Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
Lenora Mitchell Shouler
KALISPELL - Lenora "Lee" Mitchell Shouler, 101, died on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. She was born Aug. 4, 1901, in St. Louis, Mo., to Felix and Lily Mitchell.
Lee lived most of her life in California, where she met and married
Mayson Shouler. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Lee graduated from high school and business school and once owned a dance studio in California.
Survivors include her son, William Shouler of Kalispell; her daughter, Barbara McClure of Spring Hill, Fla.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
At her request cremation will take place and no services will be held.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
Ben Lavadure
WHITEFISH - Ben Lavadure, 90, died at the North Valley Hospital in Whitefish on Thursday, Jan, 30, 2003, of natural causes. He was born in Choteau, on Sept. 18, 1912, to Philip and Annie (Sinclair) Lavadure.
Ben joined the U.S. Army in 1941. He was stationed in Alaska and was honorably discharged in 1945. He returned to Montana to work in the Butte mines until he moving to Kalispell in the mid-1950s.
Survivors include his sister, Meda Larson of Marblemount, Wash., and many nieces and nephews.
At his request cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
Leonard Brewer
MISSOULA - Dr. Leonard Brewer, 96, of Missoula, died at Beehive Homes, Jan. 31, 2003. He was born Feb. 8, 1907, in Belgrade, the son of Albert and Florence Brewer.
Dr. Brewer was preceded in death by his wife Martha G. Brewer and son Gordon.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Albert and Gay Garard-Brewer of Oceanside, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Meg and Joe Angell of Helena; granddaughter Martha E. Brewer of Oceanside; grandsons John Arvish of Missoula and Brian Arvish of Cedar City, Utah; and great-grandson Sung Ross Hong of Oceanside.Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the First Presbyterian Church in Missoula.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to Community Hospital; or to Partners in Home Care Hospice, 2687 Palmer St., Suite B, Missoula, MT 59808.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory.
Priscilla Chadduck
BELLEVUE, Wash. - Priscilla Chadduck died on Nov. 13, 2002, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Receiving her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Michigan, she came to Missoula in 1971, where she taught at the University of Montana School of Music until retirement in 1993.
Her professional career included soprano solo concerts with the Missoula Symphony Orchestra. In Missoula, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and choir, PEO Chapter AM, Mu Phi Epsilon, and National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Pris is survived by her mother, daughters BethAnn and Sandra and sons James, Robert and Michael.
Funeral services were held in her hometown of Greenfield, Iowa.
