Wayne Edward Stone
COALINGA, Calif. - Wayne Edward Stone, 35, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at the Coalinga Regional Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment at Custer County cemetery.
Hubert 'Hubie' M. Walton
LAUREL - Hubie Walton passed away at The Evergreen Care Center in Laurel on Wednesday evening, Dec. 23, 1998. He was born on Oct. 21, 1914, to Marshall and Georgia (Hurliss) Walton. He attended Laurel schools and graduated in 1935. He made his name and livelihood as a butcher beginning under the apprenticeship of Walter Libecap, father of one of his lifelong friends, Donnie Libecap. He moved on to the Boys Market for a few years before going to work for Henry Schessler at Schessler's Food. Hubie, along with his brother, Ken, was considered one of the best meat cutters in Laurel. He knew his customer's favorite cuts, and they knew they would not be disappointed at meal time.
In his youth, due to his disability of M.D. (Muscular Dystrophy), he was unable to be a full participant in athletic events, but this did not stop him from being an avid sports fan. He was extremely knowledgeable about baseball and followed the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves.
On July 5, 1939, he married
Helen Laukka. They were together for 32 years before her sudden illness and death in January, 1972.
Hubie is survived by two sons, R. Marshall Walton of Seattle, Wash., and Steven of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters, Claudia Morley of Helena, and Susan Noel of Missoula; a niece, Sally Ridl of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary, one half sister, Nora Pettit, and five brothers, Scott, twins, Floyd and Lloyd, Ken and John Walton.
Memorial Services are planned for Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1931 Broadwater Ave., Billings, MT 59102.
Helen Boerke Watson
LIVINGSTON - Our mom, grandma, and great grandma Helen Boerke Watson of Livingston, passed away in Billings, on Dec. 22, 1998. She had been visiting in Billings when in late September she suffered a hip fracture and the resulting complications.
Helen was born in Livingston, Aug. 8, 1902 - the fourth child of Henry and Bertha Frischke Boerke. She was a life-long resident of Livingston and graduated from Park High School in 1920. She had been living at the Frontier in Livingston since 1994.
She had worked and retired from the BN railroad offices in Livingston and had also worked in the County Treasurer's office there. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Livingston.
She is survived by her son Robert and daughter-in-law Diane of Langley, Wash., and daughter Patty Ricci of Billings. Her grandchildren are: Jamie and Katie Helene Watson of Langley, Wash.; Jan (Mrs. John Roberts) of Malta; Roberta (Mrs. Dan Depner) of Spokane, Wash.; Karla (Mrs. Rick Larrabee) of Philomath, Ore.; Robert M. Watson of Shelton, Wash.; Jonathon Watson of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mary Grove of Langley, Wash.; Charles Watson of Mountlake Terrace, Wash.; Laurie Hile of Everett, Wash. She leaves her 23 great-grandchildren and also several nieces and nephews in California and Maryland. Helen was predeceased by her father when she was 12, her mother when she was 18, her two sisters and her brother, her husband Robert in 1981, her grandson Dave Ricci in Dec. 1992, and her son-in-law Cesare (Joe) Ricci in 1997.
At 96 she had outlived and missed many dear to her but she still had friends who were able to visit and call and reminisce with her. We surely want those of you who knew of Helen's mishap and sent notes, cards and phoned - just how comforting and appreciated you are. All the wishes and news were communicated to her and brought pleasure.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be planned for a later date in Livingston.
Fern Garst Cook
BALDWIN PARK, Calif. - Fern Garst Cook, 82, formerly of Fromberg and Bridger, Mont., died Dec. 8, 1998.
Graveside services and interment were held in the Rockvale cemetery, Rockvale, Mont.
William 'Bill' Pasek
GILLETTE, Wyo. - William "Bill" Pasek, 16, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of complications caused by a kidney transplant he had when he was an infant.
Memorial services will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge.
Betty McKemie
GLASGOW - Betty McKemie, 97, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital of natural causes.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at the Bell Mortuary Chapel with interment in the Highland cemetery.
Betty Zinn
CODY, Wyo. - Betty Zinn, 71, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at West Park Long Term Care Center.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at First Presbyterian Church with interment of cremated remains in Riverside cemetery.

CODY, Wyo. - Dale Herrold Lynn, 59, of Cody, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.
The casket will be open from noon-12:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cody Stake Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church with interment in Riverside cemetery. Ballard Funeral Home is in charge.

STORY, Wyo. - Arvid Siegel, 60, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at the VA Medical Center.

LOVELL, Wyo. - Clarence Lemmon, 97, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at New Horizons Care Center.

CODY, Wyo. - Glena Dora Nicholson Cauffman, 84, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at West Park Hospital.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at the Burlington Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with interment in the Burlington cemetery. Ballard Funeral Home is in charge.

BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. - Rudolph "R.R. Rudy" Raymond Loss, 88, formerly of Sheridan, Wyo., died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, at Kane Funeral Home in Sheridan. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan.
Henry A. Schultz Jr.
LEWISTOWN - Henry A. Schultz Jr., 79, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at the Central Montana Medical Center of natural causes.
No services are planned. His body was donated to the WAMI Medical Research Program at MSU-Bozeman. The Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge.

GLENDIVE - William M. "Bill" Frank, 67, of Glendive, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at the Chapel of Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home.

BUFFALO, Wyo. - Cyril Francis Schilling, 79, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at the Amie Holt Care Center.

Othelia Aardahl
GLENDIVE - Othelia Aardahl, age 87, of Glendive, died on Saturday evening, Dec. 19, 1998, at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care Facility.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Paul Everett and Lay Pastoral Associate Avis Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial cemetery. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Marit Othelia Aardahl was born on Jan. 21, 1911, near Maynard, Minn., the daughter of Ole and Marit (Loe) Gjevre. She was baptized at Wang Lutheran Church on Feb. 2. Othelia was reared in the household of her maternal grandparents, Iver and Berit Loe. She graduated from Maynard High School in 1928, Red Wing Seminary in 1930, and Concordia College in 1932. She zealously pursued the task of educating herself and others. She taught English, speech and drama in a variety of rural Minnesota communities throughout the 1930s and 1940s, including: Beaver Creek, West Concord, Ruthton, Belview, and Waseca; and she served as school principal at Emmetsburg, Iowa. She also taught at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, and at Brainerd Junior College. Othelia spent several summer sessions at the University of Minnesota, and in 1946 she enrolled as a full-time M.A. student in the field of English Literature.
She was an enthusiastic student of Nordic land and lore; it was her life-long thrill to have spent the summer of 1948 at the University of Oslo, Norway. Affliction with Alzheimer's disease dashed her hopes of returning there with her family. On June 7, 1952, Othelia married
Leslie Aardahl in Minneapolis. They spent a year in Crosby, N.D., and two-and-a-half years in Miles City, before settling in Glendive. Othelia briefly taught at Miles Community College and "subbed" at Dawson County High School.
Othelia loved to sing, participating in school and church choirs and offering solos at social occasions into her middle years. She enjoyed two careers, having taught school for over 20 years before becoming a homemaker. Othelia was a fine educator, unusually attentive to the employment of words, blessed with a quick wit and a mischievous sense of sarcasm. She was an attentive wife and mother, and a devoted member of the Lutheran Church. Her gradual decline has been grieved by family and friends.
"Tillie, " as she was known by some, was preceded in death by her mother (a week after her birth), father, and a sister, Blanche Dozler.
She is survived by her husband, Leslie, of Glendive; her son, Wesley Aardahl and his wife, Rebecca of Dagmar; two young grandchildren, Kristian and Nils.
Memorials are suggested to the Zion Lutheran Church, 401 Riverview, Glendive, Mont. 59330 or the Alzheimer's Association, 2 Poly Drive, Billings, Mont. 59101.
Connie J. Arneson
HYSHAM - Connie J. Arneson, 58, of Hysham, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at the St. Vincent Hospital and Health Center in Billings following complications of cancer.
Connie was born Nov. 21, 1940, in Glasgow, the daughter of Sterling and Dorothea Anderson Foust. She grew up and attended schools in Glasgow, living for a brief time in Massachusetts, then returned to Glasgow before moving to Hysham during her high school years. Connie graduated from Hysham High School in 1958, attending Eastern Montana College in Billings.
On Jan. 25, 1959, Connie married
Clarence Arneson in Hysham. She worked for the Hysham Echo with Barb Cramer for several years as well as other various jobs. Connie went to work for Bill Cunningham at the Hysham Community Elevator in 1988, where she had worked up until the time of her death.
Connie was a member of the Hysham Community Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon. She was very active with FFA as well as the 4-H and was a past member of the Hysham TreasureBelles. Connie was an avid reader and loved camping, listening to Christian music, singing in the church choir, collecting angels and especially her cats and dogs. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was known for her infectious laugh.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Arneson of Hysham; two daughters, Laura (Billy) Willems of Hysham, Julia (Brian) Tagney of Kimball, Minn.; two sons, Leslie (Deitra) Arneson of Hysham and Brian Arneson and his fiancee, Danette Krohmer of Billings; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her two special aunts, Barbara (John) Forsythe of Billings and Norma Heiman of Helena; as well as her special friend, Kay Smith of Hysham.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hysham with Rev. Fred Halde, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rancher cemetery. Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is in charge of the arrangement.

DENVER - Dale A. Hensley, 46, formerly of Sheridan, Wyo., died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at his home.

GLASGOW - Sandra Lee Holstein, 54, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at her home of a myocardial infarction.
