Hobart P. Davis
MARTINEZ, Calif. - Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6, for Hobart P. Davis, who died Oct. 1 at the age of 88.
Mr. Davis was born in Red Lodge, Mont., and raised in Billings, Mont.
He was an electrical engineer who traveled all over the world in his work.
He enjoyed reading, corresponding with friends and visiting with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jeune Bellinger Davis; his daughter, Sonia G. Price; a son, Paul S. Davis. He had six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 12-2 p.m. with a service at 2 p.m. at Connolly & Taylor Chapel. Burial will be held at Mountview cemetery, Oct. 8, 2 p.m. in Billings.
Eugene Everett Edwards
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Eugene Everett Edwards, 70, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, at Westview Health Care Center.
Private family memorial services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Champion Funeral Home.

KAYCEE, Wyo. - Frosty Forbes, 46, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, in a one-care rollover near Table Rock.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Harold Jarrard Park Building with interment on the family ranch west of Kaycee. Private family graveside rites will be held at a later date. Adams Funeral home of Buffalo is in charge.

WELLINGTON, Colo. - David W. Horsley, 37, formerly of Worland, Wyo., died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, in Bellvue.

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Gladys O. Janich, 93, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, at Sheridan Manor.

GLASGOW - Alfred Kolstad, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, at Deaconess Hospital in Billings.

Hildred Mable Ledig, 84, of Billings, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, in Western Manor Health Care Center in Billings.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, in Mountain View cemetery in Big Timber. Lowry Funeral Home of Big Timber is in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth 'Nick' Mitchell
GLENDIVE - Kenneth "Nick" Mitchell, 73, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, at Deaconess Hospital in Billings.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Our Savior Lutheran Church with interment in the Dawson Memorial cemetery. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home is in charge.
Donald 'Shorty' L. Morrison Jr.
POLSON - Donald "Shorty" L. Morrison Jr., 69, of Polson, passed away Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital of natural causes.
Donald grew up and attended schools in Chinook, graduating in 1947. He attended the University of Montana. He started working for Buttreys at a young age and continued working for them throughout his career. He held numerous positions throughout his career and eventually in 1986 worked his way through the company and retired as a Private Label Manager.
Donald was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Lions and Finley Point Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, boating, snow skiing, gardening and he was especially proud of his roses.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Gary and William.
He is survived by a son, Dan Morrison and his wife, Johna of Polson; a daughter, Karen and her husband, Dave Nygard of Billings; grandchildren, Bryce and Brianna Morrison of Polson; a brother, Jack and his wife, Linda of Billings; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Memorials may be given to the Polson Senior Citizen Center.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1 p.m. at Grogan Funeral Home.
Cremation and arrangements are by Grogan Funeral Home of Polson.

A prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Bullis-Graves Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City with interment on Friday, Oct. 9, in Eden Valley, Minn.

POWELL, Wyo. - Carmen E. Olson, 83, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, at the Powell Hospital Emergency Room.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Hope Lutheran Church with interment in Crown Hill cemetery.
Emma B. Ostrum
ABSAROKEE - Emma B. Ostrum passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, at Brookside Home in Absarokee.
She was born to Helmert and Tillie Arthun on Dec. 6, 1910, and lived her young life on Butcher Creek. She married
Cornelius Ostrum Oct. 24, 1930, and spent the rest of her life ranching with him on the East Rosebud River near Roscoe. He preceded her in death.
Survivors are a son, Hubert of Roscoe; daughters, Mardell Irvin and Darrell of Cheney, Wash., Ginger Wittman and Larry of Absarokee, Darlene Lamping and Ronnie of Helena; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Absarokee, Thursday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Rosebud cemetery immediately following. Memorials may be sent to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Absarokee, or the charity of one's choice. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

MILES CITY - Floyd Pahnish, 78, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, at Tender Loving Care Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with interment in the veterans section of Custer County cemetery.
John W. 'Windy' Piercy
WILLISTON, N.D. - John W. "Windy" Piercy, 81, formerly of Bainville, Mont., died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Everson-Clayton Memorial Chapel of Culbertson, Mont., was in charge.
Ray Sanches Jr.
KIRBY, Wyo. - Ray Sanches Jr., 68, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, in Billings, Mont., after a short illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Mortimore Funeral Home in Thermopolis with interment on Monday, Oct. 12, at the Sunrise cemetery in Fortuna, Calif.
Bertha Margaret Skinner
Bertha Margaret Skinner, age 78, of Billings, formerly of Joliet, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, at Valley Health Care Center in Billings.
She was born on Red Lodge Creek, the daughter of Samuel and Thea (Mollerveit) Risvold, and was raised and educated there.
She married
Charles L. Skinner on Feb. 29, 1940, in Billings. They moved to Joliet in 1952. Mr. Skinner died Aug. 5, 1993. Bertha had been a resident of Valley Health Care Center since 1988 due to a stroke.
Bertha was a member of the Joliet Lutheran Church, Joliet Senior Citizens, Ladies Aid and Joliet Garden Club. She had enjoyed doing baby-sitting for several years.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Gary and Betty Skinner of Billings, and Stanley and Joan Skinner of Worland, Wyo.; a brother Stanley B. and wife Sharon Risvold of Red Lodge; three granddaughters, two great-grandchildren and a niece Sandra Risvold of Casper, Wyo. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thorvold and John Risvold and a grandson Gary G. Skinner.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Joliet Lutheran Church. Interment will be at the Joliet cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Smith's Downtown Chapel in Billings and before the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to Joliet Lutheran Church.
Bernadine Eloise Stowe
HOUSTON, Texas - Bernadine Eloise Stowe, formerly of 309 N. 33rd St., Billings, died on Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, at 8:19 p.m., at age 88, in Houston, where she had lived with her daughter, Lois, and son-in-law, Robert C. Mason. The cause of death was a stroke. Mrs. Stowe was born Feb. 24, 1910, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Clinton. She came with her parents to Montana in 1913, where they homesteaded and ranched north of the Yellowstone, near Custer. She attended schools in Custer and Billings, and Commercial College in St. Joseph. She married
Raynold D. Stowe on July 2, 1949. Mr. Stowe died Feb. 10, 1960. A published author, she was a member of Billings Toastmistress Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, Zelda Rebekah Lodge, and Dale Carnegie Alumni. Survivors include her daughter, Lois Mason of Houston; her grandson, David of Dallas; and her granddaughter, Anne of Las Vegas, Nev. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, at the Downtown Chapel of Smith Funeral Home. She will be buried in Mountview cemetery.
J. Garna Taggart
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - J. Garna Taggart, longtime Sheridan resident, passed away on Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan, at the age of 84.
Mrs. Taggart was born on Aug. 23, 1914, on Youngs Creek in Sheridan County, to Harry and Alma Walker Long. She attended rural schools in this area and graduated from Big Horn High School in 1934. In 1940, Garna graduated from Sheridan County Memorial Hospital Nurses Training School and worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colo., for three years. In 1945, she joined the Army Nurse Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant and was stationed at Camp Carson, Colo., where she was united in marriage to F.C. "Zeke" Taggart on Oct. 20, 1945.
Garna was a 50-year member of Beta Sigma Phi, a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, a member of the Carriage House Auxiliary and Carriage House Theater, a board member of the American Red Cross, and a member of the Sheridan Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and helping friends and family.
Survivors include her son, William T. (Tom) Taggart of Billings, Mont.; her daughter, Marcie Treumann, also of Billings; her brother, Keith Long of Sheridan; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Her parents and husband; a sister, Lois Hughes; and two brothers, Harry and Gerald Long preceded her in death.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, at Kane Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Elks cemetery in Sheridan.
