Walter E. Craig
YUBA CITY, Calif. - Walter E. Craig, 67, of Yuba City, formerly of Columbus, Mont., passed away in Salem, Ore., on Oct. 13, 1998. Walter was born in Columbus on March 4, 1931, a son of William and Hazel Craig. He grew up and graduated from high school in Columbus and graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont.
Walter lived in Sacramento, Calif., from 1960-1992 retiring to Yuba City. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1956.
Walter is survived by two brothers: Charles E. Craig of Longview, Wash., and John Craig of Rathdrum, Idaho. He is also survived by a sister: Elizabeth Loring of Tacoma, Wash.
Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Columbus. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment at Mountainview cemetery.
Claudia Kay McCrary Clement
FORT MILL, S.C. - Claudia Kay McCrary Clement, 41, formerly of Billings, Mont., died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, at Mercy South Hospital in Pineville, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Fort Mill. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the church with interment in the church cemetery.
Carolina Funeral and Cremation Center of Charlotte, N.C., is in charge.
Gloria Morse
Our dear mother Gloria Morse, 75 of Billings, went to be with our Heavenly Father Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998. Gloria was born in Red Lodge, Jan. 30, 1923, to Emilio John and Seconda Dominica Vagena.
Gloria graduated from Carbon County High School. She married
Delbert Lee Morse, April 25, 1943. They resided in Brid-ger from 1943-1950. They then moved to Billings where they lived until the time of their deaths.
She is survived by five children: Dan Morse, Cheryl Barrigan, Irene Oakland, Les and his wife, Patsy Morse, Tom and wife, Sandy Morse, all of Billings. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her husband, Delbert of 52 years.
Cremation has taken place at Smith Crematory. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Smith Downtown Chapel. Memorials may be made to Big Sky Hospice, 123 S. 27th St., Billings, MT 59107.
Robert G. Michelotti
Robert G. Michelotti, 72 of Billings, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 14, 1998, at Deaconess Medical Center following 17 years of Kidney Dialysis. The son of Iacopo and Mary Sciacero Michelotti, he was born in Iron Mountain, Mich., April 26, 1926.
Early in his childhood, Bob and his family moved to Great Falls, Mont., where he was raised and educated. At the age of 11, he started working in the family restaurant, which his father established in 1929, and was cooking at age 14, specializing in Italian foods. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Great Falls in 1944. Following his graduation, he joined the United States Navy, serving aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Commencement Bay as a cook and butcher. After Bob's discharge in 1946, he returned to Great Falls, where he became associated with his father in operating the Lido Cafe & Lounge.
On Aug. 10, 1949, Bob married
Helen J. Selakovich in Great Falls. In 1953, they moved to Los Angeles, where Bob attended and graduated from the California College of Mortuary Science. After gradation in 1954, Bob and Helen moved to Billings, where Bob served his internship at Settergren Funeral Home. In 1955, he and his associate, John F. Sawyers, established the Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, which they built and opened in 1956. In 1964, Bob and Helen built and operated the Imperial 400 Motel, which they owned and operated until 1974. Bob retired in 1986 due to ill health.
He was a long time member of the Rotary Club, the Serra Club, of which he was Past President and Past District Governor, the Billings Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Montana Chamber, a member of the Elks Club, Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and St. Thomas Church, and served many years on the Board of Directors of First Federal Savings and Loan. Bob enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren, cooking, playing golf, and spending winters in Palm Desert, Calif., with his wife, Helen.
Bob's strong work ethic, as well as his dedication and commitment to his profession, family, faith, and community, were extraordinary. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1937, his brother, Fr. John J. Michelotti, in 1969, and his father in 1974.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 49 years, Helen Michelotti of Billings; his son, Robert G. "Jock" Michelotti Jr., his wife, Connie, and children, Nicole, Christina, and Marissa of Billings; his son, John J. Michelotti, his wife, Alison, and children, Ceci, Alida, Seve, and Ali of Billings; his sister, Mary Blount of Great Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Alderson Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Rite of Committal with Military Honors will be in Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to the Northern Rockies Kidney Center, 2800 10th Ave. N., Billings, MT 59101.
Justin Fitch
JORDAN - Justin Fitch, age 14, of Jordan, son of Monte and Carla Fitch, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998.
Justin Fitch was born on Feb. 5, 1984, in Miles City, the son of Monte and Carla (Carter) Fitch. He attended Big Dry Country School through the seventh grade, and graduated from eighth grade at Jordan Elemen-tary School. He was a freshman at Garfield County High School.
Justin was a member of the Mustang Football team, High School Rodeo Association, Basket-ball team, Jr. High Track & Field, and a past member of the 4-H Club. He loved all animals, especially horses, hunting, being outdoors, leather craft, and he lived to rodeo. The most important part in his life was his family and grandparents.
Justin is survived by his parents, brother, Kyle Fitch of the family home in Jordan; grandparents: Fred and Pat Fitch of Jordan, Fred and Georgia Schmidt of Gillette, Wyo.; and great-grandparents, Joe and Margaret South of Bridger. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ashley Nicole in 1991.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. in the Garfield County High School Gymnasium with the Rev. Helen Young officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Steve's Fork cemetery in Sand Springs. Following the graveside service a luncheon will be served at the V.F.W. Hall in Jordan. Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home of Jordan is in charge of the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Jordan High School Rodeo Association or the Jordan School Athletic Fund.
Agnes T. Davison
BIG TIMBER - Agnes T. Davison, 92, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at Pioneer Medical Center, Big Timber.
Agnes was born on May 3, 1906, to Robert Lindsay and Elizabeth Dean (Inabnit) Todd in Gallatin County. She married
Don B. Davison on May 18, 1929, in Bozeman.
She loved her family and was very instrumental in the caring for and helping with all their activities. Agnes was a matron for the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office for many years. She was a member of the Montana Police Officer's Association and also a former Cowbelle. Her hobbies included: knitting, crocheting, and collecting plates. She was a master wine maker and cook, and she had quite a green thumb when it came to growing anything. Agnes was very much a hunter.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter: Eva Elizabeth Schwarzrock; three brothers: Harold Wesley Todd, Ohmer Lionel Todd, and Donald Merlin Todd; two sisters: Elizabeth Veryle Todd and Lois Todd.
Survivors include: one brother: Robert Todd II of Stevensville; one sister: Isabell Birkland of Greycliff; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at Lowry Funeral Home, Big Timber with Pastor Jim Holmlund officiating the services. Interment wilt be in Reedpoint cemetery.
Mildred (Mickey) Alfers
Mildred (Mickey) Alfers, age 79, of Billings, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at her home.
She was born July 4, 1919, at Circle, the daughter of Joseph and Cleo Belle (Weed) Willis. She was raised in Wenatchee, Wash.
After moving to Billings, Mickey married
Frank Alfers on Sept. 15, 1979. They owned and operated the Oxford Hotel for many years.
Mickey liked being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Kemp and Sharon Chapadeau, both of Bovey, Minn., and Linda Hutton Owens and her husband, Sarge of Billings; two sisters, Pat Sparks of California and Ruth Edwards of Washington; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1985, and a daughter, Elaine Hofferber.
Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, Oct. 17, at Smith's Downtown Chapel, 120 N. 26th St. Interment will follow at Holy Cross cemetery.
Joyce R. Isaacson
GLASGOW - Joyce R. Isaacson, 71, passed away Oct. 5, 1998, in Billings after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Bell Chapel in Glasgow with the Rev. Lonnie Eidson officiating. Burial will be in the Highland cemetery in Glasgow. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Joyce was born June 2, 1927, in Englewood, Colo., to Norman and Nellie Gager Rowland. After graduating from Englewood High School she worked for several years at the Pentagon. She married
Richard Isaacson on Dec. 27, 1948, in Falconer, N.Y., at the home of Richard's aunt and uncle. After moving to Glasgow in 1970, Joyce worked at the Glasgow Courier, Sears, and then the Glasgow Bakery. Joyce was a loving and giving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed painting, playing the piano, reading and Bible study. She was a member of the Rebekahs, VFW Auxiliary, and the First Baptist Church of Glasgow. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Survivors include a son, Steven Isaacson of Ashland, Ore.; two daughters, Sharon Zahn and Sheila Lasar of Billings; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Rowland Jr. of Red Feather Lakes, Colo., and Gary Rowland of Lawson, Mo.; and a sister, Phyllis Robertson of Marshfield, Mo.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Glasgow or the charity of one's choice.
Albert Sidney Brubaker
Albert Sidney Brubaker, age 91, of Terry passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at the Prairie Community M.A.F. in Terry.
Albert was born on May 17, 1907, in Terry, Mont. the son of Wilbert A. and Caroline (Ferris) Brubaker. He attended grade school and graduated high school in Terry. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Minnesota of which he has been a strong supporter all his life. He returned to Terry and joined the family bank. On August 11, 1935, Albert married
Ivy Fluss at the Powder River Ranch. Albert remained active with the State Bank of Terry until 1998.
Albert is survived by his wife, Ivy of Terry, Mont.; a son, Kent Brubaker and his wife Jean of Terry, Mont.; a daughter, Myrna Ryti and her husband Gary of Terry, Mont.; four grandchildren; Marni Ryti Cota and her husband Ed and their child Kayl of Dana Point, Calif.; Kalli Ryti of Bozeman, Mont.; Amber Brubaker of Bozeman, Mont.; and Dane Brubaker of Terry, Mont. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry with Rev. Leon Rathbun officiating. Private family interment will follow at a later date. All of Albert's friends are invited to attend the State Bank of Terry's open house on Dec. 18, in memory of Albert.
Ford Edison Martin
Surrounded by his loving family, Ford Edison Martin, age 81, of Terry, Mont., went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at the VA Nursing Home in Miles City, Mont.
Ford was born on February 28, 1917, in Terry, Mont., the son of Robert and Pearl (Heagy) Martin. He attended schools and graduated from Terry High School. Following high school, Ford attended MSU where he graduated with a degree in Horticulture. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII. During this time Ford met his "First Love" Marian Kimball and they were united in marriage on February 22, 1942, while he was home on leave, prior to his Tour of Duty in the South Pacific. He was selected for and successfully completed Ranger Training. Ford attained the rank of Captain and served in the infamous Company "F" of the 165th Infantry Regiment. During the invasion of the South Pacific, he was critically wounded and received numerous military decorations, including The Bronze Star. His belief in and dedication to his country was evident throughout his life. Ford returned home and went to work briefly for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. He then started work on the Milk River Irrigation Project; he subsequently transferred to the Buffalo Rapids Irrigation Project where he was employed as one of the Pioneer Managers during the project's construction. After 10 years employment, with the project he chose to re-settle the original homestead on the Yellowstone River, ranching, farming and operating a dairy. He also worked for Production Credit Association for 12 years.
In October of 1978, Ford was re-married
to Mickey Anderson of Deer Lodge. He entered semi retirement, continuing to develop RX3 Cattle, a composite breed he was instrumental in founding.
Ford was always involved in any community outreach that time availed; some of which included teaching Sunday School, 4-H, the Presbyterian Board, Rainbow Board, Fair Board, Prairie County cemetery Board, Eastern Star, the Masons and the Shriners. Above and beyond all that Ford accomplished, he was known for his love and dedication to his family; his "Zest" for life and sense of humor; his indomitable spirit; his love of God and country; and his intimate relationship with the Yellowstone River, its wildlife and the surrounding country.
We will miss you Dad. But your spirit lives on!
He is survived by one son; Pepper Martin and his wife Shawna, of Terry, Mont.; three daughters; Kathi Stanfield and her husband Don, of Polson, Mont.; Jeani Martin, of Carlsbad, Calif.; and Maribeth Braaksma and her husband Vern, of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother; Robert Martin, of Terry, Mont.; one sister; Marguerite "Bubbles" Payne, of Phoenix, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Prayer services will be held on Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church with Rev. Paul Olson officiating.
Interment will follow in the family lot of the Prairie County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Terry is in charge of the arrangements.

Emil Matthew Bogunovich
Emil Matthew Bogunovich, 72, of Lewistown, Mont., passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 12, 1998, at his home. He was born in Big Horn, Mont., on April 20, 1926, the son of Antone and Manda Bogunovich.
Emil was raised and educated in Big Horn and graduated from Custer High School in 1944. Following graduation, he farmed on the family farm at Big Horn and later moved to Sanders, Mont. He farmed in Sanders and Bridger before moving to Hysham in 1962, where he served as town marshall. Emil worked construction for many years and retired in 1984.
He loved fishing and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Bogunovich.
Survivors include his children; Thomas Bogunovich and his wife Barb of Big Horn, Charlene Brown and her husband Steve of Billings, and Wayne and Daryl Bogunovich of Billings; his two sisters, Anna Icopini of Hysham and Maisie Klein of Billings; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Alderson Chapel with interment in the Custer cemetery.
