Lindy was a very spiritual and strong woman and it was that spirituality and strength that she carried with her until the very end. Before participating in the study, Lindy wrote these words in her journal, "My resolve is firm ... I have a genuine need to give back and to help others. I am not afraid."
Lindy's greatest support came from her husband Barry Burns. She was never shy in her expression of love for him and always talked about how good her "Big Bear" was taking care of her.

Her memory lives on in the hearts of her brothers, Willard and his wife Julie of Ronan and Tommy and his wife Connie of Columbia Falls and her sister, Becky Berge of Billings. She will also be greatly missed by her aunt and uncle, Louise and Red Monical of Billings and their children, Greg and his wife Lani and their children, Chandra, Jessie and Mitch of Billings, and Dona and her children Genesee and Elizabeth of Livingston.
Lindy's nieces and nephews were the light of her life. She was always there to support them whether it was a graduation, wedding, concert or a demolition derby. They are Jeff, Ryon and Amber Moore of Columbia Falls, Jeri and Bill Moore of Ronan, Layne Berge and Kristen Mavencamp of Billings.
