Eugene Wind
SAVAGE - Eugene Wind, 74, of Savage, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at the Sidney Health Center, Extended Care Facility.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, in the Pella Lutheran Church in Sidney. Interment will be in the Riverview cemetery in Savage. The Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney is in charge of arrangements.
Edith Virginia Planichek
Edith Virginia Planichek went to our Lord on Sept. 1, 1998. Virginia was born to Leslie and Edith Sines Landon on Oct. 2, 1918, in Guildford, Surrey, England. Virginia attended the Fromberg schools. On Sept. 20, 1941, Virginia married
Tony "Tonch" Planichek. They resided in Bearcreek for many years where Tony was employed in the coal mines.
Virginia and Tony had two children, Frankie and Linda. Tony and Virginia moved to Belfry in 1984. Virginia belonged to the Senior Citizens and Methodist Church in Belfry. When Virginia's health failed she joined the residents of Western Manor in Billings where she made many friends.
Virginia is survived by her two children and their spouses, Frankie and Linda of Red Lodge, Linda and George of Belfry; five grandchildren, Todd (Wendy) of Billings, Cheryl (Jay) Steinmasel of Red Lodge, Kenny Smith of Texas, Dawn Smith of Denver and Toni Sullivan of Belfry.
She also leaves her little great-grandsons, Kyle and Seth Steinmasel, Kenny Jr. and Christopher Smith of Houston, Texas, and Nathan Frankie Molina of Lubbock, Texas.
Virginia is also survived by two brothers, Leslie Landon of Fairmont, Minn., Eddie Landon (Grace) of Billings; three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Pat) Rivers of Fromberg, Gladys Forstner of Fromberg, Florence Luke of Austin, Texas; and her many nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tony.
Robert 'Bob' Spaulding
Dec. 2, 1923-Aug. 30, 1998
PLEASANT HILL, Calif. - Bob Spaulding, retired Emergency Systems Supervisor for Exxon Refinery, passed away Sunday evening at John Muir Hospital. Born in Oregon, Bob grew up in Montana and made Pleasant Hill his home for the past 30 years. He worked at the Exxon Refinery in Billings before being transferred to California.
Bob loved fishing, hunting, and bowling and was active in the Martinez Community Band as well as the Wally Byam Caravan Band. Bob and wife Nita enjoyed traveling with W.B.C.C.I. (The Airstreamers) to local, regional and national gatherings and to outings with the Waggin' Tales R.V. Club.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Juanita; children, James D. of Weatherford, Texas, Kenneth R. of Billings, Ronald L. of Pleasant Hill and Sandra R. of San Jose, Calif.; grandchildren, Suzie, Barbara, Tom, Debi and Tim; and great-grandchildren, Jason and Amy; and brothers, Max of Santa Clara and Frank of Charlotte, N.C.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Oakmont Memorial Park Redwood Chapel. Interment at Oakmont Memorial Park Garden of Remembrance.
Debra Porter Quick
Debra Porter Quick passed away Aug. 31, 1998. She was born April 14, 1950, to Bob and Betty Porter. She attended Billings Central Catholic High School.
Survivors are two sons, Robert and Michael; one daughter, Renee Quick; and four brothers, Mike, Pat, Jerry and Dick.
Memorial Mass will be at noon Thursday, Sept. 3, at St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral.
Edwin H. Erickson
HAVRE - Edwin H. Erickson, 89 years of age, a retired executive of meat operations for Buttrey's Food Stores and a longtime resident of Havre, died on Aug. 31, 1998, at a Havre nursing home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at the Holland & Bonine Chapel in Havre with Rev. Kenn Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland cemetery.
Edwin was born on July 28, 1909, at Barton, N.D. He was the son of Alfred J. and Joanna (Hjort) Erickson. He was five years of age when he moved with his family to a homestead north of Saco. He attended a rural school. Later he attended school in the town of Saco.
In 1929, he married
the former Luella M. (Tillie) Meagears. The couple lived in Malta where Edwin worked. On March 1, 1930, the couple moved to Havre where Edwin accepted employment with Buttrey's Food Stores. His wife Tillie died in 1962. In 1964, he purchased a ranch in Chinook where he raised cattle. Edwin sold the ranch in the fall of 1973. On Jan. 1, 1972, he retired from Buttrey's Food Stores. On June 8, 1974, in Missoula, he married
the former Lois Vandeberg. The couple have lived in Havre since their marriage.
Edwin enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing. He loved dogs and was a lifetime member of the Elks Club of Havre and a member of the NRA since 1950. Edwin enjoyed spending time with his family and family gatherings. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Russell D. Erickson; first wife, Luella Erickson; one sister and four brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Erickson of Havre; two sons, Edwin (Don) Erickson of Elk Grove, Calif., and Steven C. Vandeberg of Plainfield, N.J.; three granddaughters, one grandson, nine great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials in his honor may be made to the Gift of Life Foundation to benefit Columbus Hospital, P.O. Box 1821, Great Falls, MT 59403.

Esther Cora Skillman
LIVINGSTON - Esther Cora (Reynolds) Skillman, 89, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at Livingston Health and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, in the chapel of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home with graveside committal and burial in Mountain View cemetery.
Opal G. Johnson
CODY, Wyo. - Opal G. Johnson, 87, passed away Aug. 31, 1998, at the West Park Long Term Care Center in Cody.
Opal was born Sept. 26, 1910, in Burlington, the daughter of Scott and Elva Myers. She married
Thomas Wesley Johnson in Greybull, June 6, 1930. Opal and Wes operated a ranch and bar in the Burlington area for many years until retiring in 1967, at which time they moved to Cody.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Mike and P-Wee Johnson of Cody; a sister, Carrie M. Kraus of Denver; and daughter-in-law, June Johnson of Billings; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; nine nieces and five nephews.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wes; her son, Thelbert; her granddaughter, Theresa; her sisters, Goldie Singleton, Beulah Smith, Nan Perkins and Ella Fritzler; her brothers, Scott Myers and Vern Myers.
As by her request, cremation has taken place. Graveside memorial services and interment of cremains will be held in Burlington at a later date.

Edna Fern Snook
Edna Fern Snook, 91, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Sept. 1, 1998. She was a resident at Western Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral Services and burial will be Sept. 8, 1998, in Laramie, Wyo.

Eva Hergenrader, 90, formerly of Worland, Wyo., died Monday, Aug. 31, 1998, at St. Vincent Hospital.
Graveside memorial of cremated remains will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Riverview Memorial cemetery in Worland. Cremation or Funeral Gallery is in charge.
Jean Lindblom Harris
HELENA - Jean Rosalie Lindblom Harris, 67, died Monday, Aug. 31, 1998, of cancer.
Cremation has taken place and private memorial services will be at a later date. Chuck Nicholson of Livingston was in charge.
Juanita Seaberg Barling
CODY, Wyo. - Juanita May Seaberg Barling, 82, died Monday, Aug. 31, 1998, at West Park Long Term Care Center.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Ballard Funeral Home. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with interment in Riverside cemetery.
Beulah DeCory
Beulah DeCory, 82, Billings, and formerly of Aberdeen, S.D., died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998, at the Deaconess Hospital in Billings.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1410 N. Kline St., Aberdeen. Rev. Father George A. Benson will officiate with Rev. Phillip Allen assisting. Burial will follow at Riverside cemetery, Aberdeen, under the directions of Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen.
There will be visitation one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday.
Beulah Grace Bishop DeCory (Indian name: Winyan Luta) was born Feb. 18, 1916, to Clarence and Hattie Bulleater (Tatanka Yuta) Bishop at Bullcreek, S.D.
Beulah worked for the Rosebud Sioux Tribe as a Lakota Language interpreter and for the Realty Department of the Bureau of Indian Affairs at Rosebud, S.D., then transferred to the Title Plant in Aberdeen in 1960 where she worked until she retired. She moved to Billings in 1990 to live with her oldest daughter and family.
She was a baptized member of the Episcopal Church. She was an avid bowler and bingo player.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin DeCory; brother, Irvin (Bud) Bishop (Wanbli Numpa); and one son deceased at birth. She is survived by her sisters, Joyce Elassaser and Doris Sprenkle of Rapid City, S.D., and Winifred Ahlstrom of San Diego, Calif.; her daughters, Marlys (Doug) of Billings, Myrtle and Beulah (BeeGee) DeCory of Aberdeen; her sons, Franklin DeCory and wife, Lauren Ann of Houston, Texas, and John (Jabee) DeCory (Millie) of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Tim DeCory and wife, Mary of St. Paul, Minn., Randy Sloan of Billings, Steve Sloan (Delia) of Hardin, Kay Lynne and husband (Sid) Eisenbeisz of Aberdeen, David Gallipo of Garden City, Kan., Greg Gallipo of Aberdeen, Micheal Ann DeCory (Jay) and David DeCory of Houston, Tammy Harve and husband of Tampa, Fla., and Mike Richter of Sioux Falls, S.D. Survived by great-grandchildren to which she was Big Grandma and Fingo, Angel DeCory of Terre Haute, Ind., Jeremy, Travis, and Lisa DeCory and Wanna Burnette (foster great-grandchild) of St. Paul, Kenna and Jeremiah Spotted Bear of Hardin, Nikki Eisenbeisz of Aberdeen, Randi Larson of Redfield, S.D., Tyler and Ashley Vance of Aberdeen, Alexandrea Rae DeCory-Salinas of Houston and Sterling Wade Harve of Tampa; and great-great-grandchildren, Diane and Chuckie Decory of Terre Haute. Survived by adopted son and daughter, Lewis and Lourelia Martin of Billings and adopted daughter, Mary Dahl of Aberdeen; adopted grandchildren, Aurora Page, Arelia Natasha, and Twylita Martin, all of Billings, and Aaron Martin of Fort Peck; adopted great-grandchildren, Austin Page, Aunaya, C.J., Emerald and Little Lou, all of Billings, and Race and Shelby Martin of Billings; and countless number of friends in Billings and Aberdeen who knew her as Ma and Grandma.
Honorary casketbearers will be Timothy Wayne DeCory, Randall Allen Sloan, Steven Leonard Sloan, David Maurice Gallipo, Gregory Scott Gallipo, Michael James Richter, David Bryan DeCory, Sid Eisenbeisz, and Lewis Martin.
Active Casketbearers will be Doug Hubbell, Ray Barrett Jr., Jim Richter, Chuck Skatvoldt, Marv Bingham, and Linus LaVallie.
Organist will be Carol Zephier. Soloist will be Michelle Anderson. There will be a Memorial and Sundance Song by Jeremy and Travis DeCory. Ushers will be Simon Stevens and Frank DeRockbraine. Eulogist will be Timothy Wayne DeCory.
Lillian Pearl Stott
GREYBULL, Wyo. - Greybull resident Lillian Pearl Stott, 80 years of age, died on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at the Bonnie Bluejacket Memorial Nursing Home in Greybull.
Lillian was born on April 12, 1918, in Glendive, Mont., the daughter of Antone and Agnes (Groh) Meissner. She was raised in Glendive and received her schooling there.
On April 30, 1938, she married
Ells Stott in Lewistown, Mont. They moved to Worland in 1952 stayed there until 1961 and then they moved to Greybull that same year.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister and a son.
Lillian is survived by her husband: Ells Stott of Greybull; two grandchildren: Suzanne Gustafson of Laramie, Robb J. Stott of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother-in-law, Loren Stott of Glendive; sister-in-law: Vera Froelich of Austin, Texas.
Visitations have been set for Thursday, Sept. 3, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Atwood Family Chapel in Greybull. Rosary will be held at the Atwood Family Chapel in Greybull at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at 10 a.m. in the St. Philip's Catholic Church in Basin with the Reverend Pete Johnson as Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Hillside cemetery in Greybull.

Willis 'Gene' Dillman
CULBERTSON - Funeral services for Willis "Gene" Dillman, 68, of Culbertson, will be Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at 2 p.m. MDT at the Culbertson High School Gymnasium. Pastor Phil Haugen will officiate. There will be a family service which is open to the public on Friday morning at 11 a.m. MDT at the Bethel Free Lutheran Church in Culbertson.
Willis "Gene" Dillman passed away Monday, Aug. 31, 1998, at the Roosevelt Memorial Hospital in Culbertson.
He was born Dec. 4, 1929, to Dearmin and Sylvia May (Wenger) Dillman on a ranch near Hesston, Kan. He earned his bachelor and master's degrees in education. Gene joined the Air Force in January, 1951, as the Korean War was in progress. He was most proud of his pilot training. Upon his honorable discharge in September of 1954, he started his career as an educator in Fairfield, Calif., where he was an elementary teacher, physical education instructor, and coach of many sports with swimming and scuba diving being his first love. He was an elementary, middle, and high school principal in Fairfield for 23 years. He was once married
to Muzette (Copeland) Closson.
While in Fairfield, he went through the chairs in the Jaycees. He then joined the Lions and was a member in Fairfield for 17 years. He also went through the chairs in the Lions, including zone chairman.
In 1977, Gene left Fairfield Schools and took a job as Superintendent of Schools in Whitehall. On Jan. 1, 1982, he was married
to Shirley Gruntorad Farner at Sheridan. They moved to Culbertson where Gene concluded 37 years as a teacher and administrator, 31 years of which were in public school administration at all levels, K-12.
He joined the Culbertson Lions Club and went through the chairs, serving as zone chairman for two consecutive years. He was the District Governor from 1997-1998. This summer Gene and Shirley culminated his year as Lion District Governor by traveling to the British Isles to attend the 81st International Lions Convention.
He had a great love for hunting and fishing and enjoyed cooking the game and sharing it with others. He was known for his humorous stories and enjoyed visiting. He was loved and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Culbertson; two sons, Mike Dillman and his wife, Susanne of Fairfield, and their children, Cady, Michelle, and Elizabeth and Steve Dillman of Fairfield; one daughter, Deborah Norgaard and her husband, Pete of Oakley, Calif., and their children, Danielle and Nick; two stepsons, David Farner of Fairfield, and his children, Cara Beth and Lora, and Albert Farner and his wife, Debbie of Point Richmond, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Debbie Robinson and her husband, Mike of Georgetown, Texas; two brothers, Jim Dillman and his wife, Beverly of Emporia, Kan., and Tom Dillman of Wichita, Kan.; and two sisters, Marge Craig and her husband, Marvin of Hutchinson, Kan., and Bev Gerding of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Keith and Bob.

Friends may call at the Bethel Free Lutheran Church in Culbertson on Thursday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., and for one hour before service time at the gym.
