OraLee 'Robbie' Eustace
HAMILTON - OraLee "Robbie" Eustace, 90, of Hamilton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, at her home of cancer.
She was born Feb. 12, 1911, in Robinson, Kan. She is survived by her son Rene Eustace of Darby.
At her request no public services will be held. Cremation is under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel and Crematory in Hamilton.
Gerald 'Jerry' Schmitz
MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. - Gerald "Jerry" Schmitz passed away Jan. 27, 2001.
Born in Missoula, Jerry was a 35-year resident of Merritt Island and was an Air Force veteran. He was employed at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, where he worked on the Atlas Rocket for General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin.
Survivors include his daughters Dena Harrell, Jolene Yost and Kyla Palmiter; grandchildren Daniel, Rachel and Jarrod; sons-in-law Steve Harrell, Jim Yost and Terry Palmiter; former wife Jean Snyder; and 13 brothers and sisters.
A memorial Mass was held Feb. 2 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church on Merritt Island.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to a charity of the donor's choice.
Richard Lukes
GROVERTON, Texas - Richard Lukes, 64, passed away Feb. 9, 2001, of Alzheimer's disease at his home.
He was born Dec. 19, 1936, in Lisbon, N.D., to Robert and Lena Lukes.
He was a graduate of the University of Montana School of Forestry.
Richard worked for the Forest Service on the Flathead National Forest from 1964 to 1970. He later was timber assistant on the Lolo National Forest and in 1980 was promoted to district ranger in Plains.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara. He is survived by his widow Sue Clayton Lukes, sons Robert and John, daughter Liz, a stepdaughter, a stepson and nine grandchildren.

Barbara A. Abeyta
PHILIPSBURG - Barbara A. Abeyta, 56, died of complications from diabetes Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Anaconda Community Hospital.
Survivors include her husband Jose of Philipsburg; stepson Dennis Abeyta and wife Darlene of Helena; stepdaughter Gloria Reed of Tucson, Ariz.; several step-grandchildren and cousins; her very close companion Cleta Nettles; and many dear friends in Philipsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Emerson Fellows Jr., who died in 1998.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at the KT Riddle Funeral Home in Philipsburg. Interment will follow at Philipsburg cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the Granite County Memorial Nursing Home and/or the American Diabetes Association.
Varner 'Burt' Cowman
KALISPELL - Varner Burdette "Burt" Cowman, 84, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeannine Dolson and husband David of Valencia, Calif., and Ladeine Thompson and husband Ray of Kalispell; son Jordan Cowman and wife of Eugene, Ore.; ex-wife Winifred Cowman of Kalispell; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
His second wife Eleanor preceded him in death in 1993.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Johnson Mortuary followed by burial at Conrad Memorial cemetery.

John R. Maggs
STEVENSVILLE - John R. Maggs, 87, of Stevensville, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at the Bitterroot Valley Living Center.
Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be placed in a niche in Arizona. There will not be a service here.
The Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville is in charge of arrangements.
Alfred Ivan Hilton
OKAGOGAN, Wash. - Alfred Ivan Hilton passed away of respiratory arrest on Saturday, March 24, 2001, at his ranch in Okanogan, Wash.
He was born Nov. 5, 1931, to Alfred and Esther Hilton in St. Ignatius, where he attended public schools until joining the U.S. Air Force. He retired after 20 years of service. He worked for Pacific Bell Telephone for two years and then the Federal Aviation Administration until retiring again in 1987.
On Aug. 4, 1951, he married
Joanne Withrow of Junction City, Ore. From this marriage eight children were born.
He was preceded in death by an infant son Verne, daughter Cindy, parents Alfred and Esther Hilton, older sister Velma Riedinger, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Alfred is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joanne; son David; daughters Susan, Cheryl, Dawn, Gwendolyn and Debra; the loves of his life - five grandchildren - Kristin, Amanda, Ashley, Justin and Clayton; four sisters, Ellen Marcure, Juanita Hirschi, Margaret Cummings and Marian Schaible; and two brothers, Bill Hilton and John Hilton.
Graveside services are pending at Willamette National cemetery in Portland, Ore.
