Arlo R. Tverstol
Arlo R. Tverstol, 77, of 416 26th Ave. N.E., a World War II Navy veteran and former teamster, died of natural causes Wednesday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services with military honors are 11 a.m. Saturday in Highland cemetery. Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of cremation and arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Tverstol of Great Falls; daughters Nancy Lesmeister of Fairfield and Patti Nyman of Great Falls; and three granddaughters.
He also is survived by a son-in-law, Carl Lesmeister; and several nieces and nephews. His granddaughters are Jennifer Nyman, Tamara Nyman and Caryn Lesmeister.
He was born June 20, 1925, in Marshall County, Minn. He had to quit school in Minnesota to help on his parents' farm, and later earned his GED in Great Falls. He served in the Navy during World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.
He was a lumberjack in Minnesota before moving to Great Falls in 1950. He drove concrete truck for Floyd Pappin & Sons for several years, then worked for the city of Great Falls.
He married
Violet (Westman) Allum Tverstal on March 26, 1960, in Great Falls.
Arlo was a member of the First Baptist Church, VFW, Eagles Club and the NCO Club at Malmstrom. He loved bingo, and his other hobbies included watching sports, especially baseball and football and attending his grandchildren's activities, such as dance recitals and musicals. He enjoyed taking his blind friends to breakfast every Saturday and driving them wherever they needed to go.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ole and Olga Tverstol; five brothers and one sister.

Jeanne Marie Davis
BILLINGS -- Former Great Falls resident Jeanne Marie Davis, 64, died of cancer Wednesday in Billings.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Survivors include children Lori Kennerson and Wendy Coyne of Wasilla, Alaska, Earl Rinio of Cookeville, Tenn., Charlotte Oeleis of Great Falls and Jeanne Mumford of Billings; her mother, Mary Bortvedt of Conrad; a brother, Richard Hunt of Billings; a sister, Karen Frost of Snohomish, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.

Joni Rae Laney
WOLF POINT -- Joni Rae (Robinson) Laney, 44, of Wolf Point, a Plentywood native and teacher's aide, died Wednesday at a Billings hospital of complications from cancer.
Visitation is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Clayton Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Her funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday at Gospel Fellowship Church in Wolf Point, with burial in Greenwood cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, John Laney of Wolf Point; a daughter, Sara Laney of Wolf Point; sons Christopher Laney and Patrick Laney of Wolf Point; her parents, Gene and Joan Robinson of Plentywood; and sisters Vicki Samuelson of Westby and Lori Glover and Cheri Mast of Spokane.

Agnes M. Hartford
LEWISTOWN -- Agnes M. (Kelly) Hartford, 81, a lifelong Lewistown area resident and homemaker, died Tuesday at a Lewistown hospital of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Memorial graveside services are 2 p.m. Saturday in Central Montana Memorial Gardens. Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include daughters Wanda Hinckhouse of Yuma, Ariz., Vera French of Baja, Mexico, and Earleen Galgerud of Grass Range; a son, Bob Hartford of Lewistown; a sister, Brownie Meserve of Lewistown; a brother, Dick Kelly of Laurel; 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1989; and by a daughter, Kelly, in 1999.

Sandra Lynn Shero
Sandra Lynn (Galles) Shero, 47, of 216 Riverview 1E, a former Whitefish resident, died Monday at a local hospital after an extended illness.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today at Schnider Funeral Home and 10 a.m. to service time Friday at Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish. Her funeral is 2 p.m. Friday at Austin Funeral Home, with burial in Whitefish cemetery.
Surviving her are a daughter, Candy Rafal and her husband Vince of Rapid City, S.D.; a son, Wade Shero of Great Falls; her parents, John W. Galles of Whitefish and Patricia Y. Cook of Great Falls; sisters Judith Hembd and Valerie Westphal of Kalispell, Paula Galles of Grand Junction, Colo., Debbie DeVall of Eureka, Mont., Patrice Galles of Cascade Locks, Ore., and Shari Lindland of Great Falls; brothers John Galles of Pallisades, Colo., and Randy Galles of Grand Junction; grandchildren Rose and Felix Rafal of Rapid City; 19 nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews.
Sandy was born Feb. 11, 1956, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to John Walter Galles and Patricia Yvonne (Maltby) Cook. The family relocated to Whitefish, Mont., where Sandy was raised and educated.
She married
Stanley Ward Shero in Whitefish on May 20, 1978.
Sandy was employed with Shoe Corp. in Great Falls until she became ill. She was an active member of her church and enjoyed riding horses, painting, sewing and bowling.
Her husband, Stanley, preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1988.

Norman Stanley Johnson
HAVRE -- Norman Stanley Johnson, 89, a retired Kremlin Farmers Union Oil Co. manager, died of natural causes Monday at a Havre care facility.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church, followed by a fellowship luncheon. Private burial of ashes will take place at a later date. Holland and Bonine Funeral Home of Havre is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, June Johnson of Havre; sons Pete Johnson of Helena and Don Johnson and David Johnson of Havre; daughters Diana Burfield of Florence and Delonna Malone of Havre; a sister, Verna Farnik of Helena; 23 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daryl; and a grandson.

Tracy Derbyshire
Tracy Derbyshire, 45, of 1818 14th Ave. S., a school custodian, died of liver failure Thursday at a local hospital.
A memorial service is 3 p.m. Tuesday at the family home at 1818 14th Ave. S. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Derbyshire of Great Falls; a daughter, Stephanie Derbyshire of Great Falls; sons Jim Derbyshire, and Nathan and Jesse Lewis, all of Great Falls; his mother, Ester Derbyshire of Great Falls; sisters Bev Gahagan of Great Falls and Kathy Larson of Billings; brothers Art Derbyshire of Billings, Jim Derbyshire of Atlanta and Leo Derbyshire of Seattle; and five grandchildren.
His grandchildren are Reily Lewis of Lolo, Madison Lewis, Haily Lewis and Trinity Lewis, all of Great Falls, and Brianna Rosin of Butte.
Tracy was born Feb. 26, 1958, in Havre, and was raised there. He was a custodian for the Great Falls School District and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Horn, his father Howard Derbyshire, and a sister, Shirly Christianson.

Victor 'Kenneth' Walking Eagle
WOLF POINT -- Victor "Kenneth" Walking Eagle, 49, a Wolf Point native who enjoyed powwows and being with his family, died Saturday in Portland, Ore. The cause of death was unavailable.
A wake is today at Wolf Point Community Hall, with a service at 7 p.m. His funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday at the hall, with burial in Oswego Presbyterian cemetery.
Survivors include sons Victor Walking Eagle III of Salem, Ore., Melvin Martell of Juneau, Alaska, and Casey Garfield of Wolf Point; daughters Marie Due of Veronica, Ore., Anna Myers of Portland, Ore., and Robin Walking Eagle of Rapid City, S.D.; and sisters Rose Walking Eagle and Phyllis Walking Eagle of Bremerton, Wash., and Myrna Walking Eagle of Fairview, Ore.

Ruth Irene Edwards
Ruth Irene (Nelson) Edwards, 67, of 1413 5th Ave. S., a waitress, died of cancer Monday at a local hospital.
Visitation is 1 to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory. Her funeral is 1 p.m. Friday at Croxford's, with burial in Highland cemetery. A reception will follow at the VFW on 10th Avenue South.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Purcell of Great Falls; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jim Johnson of Great Falls; sons Steve Edwards and Rudy Edwards of Great Falls; sisters Betty Allison of Bouse, Ariz., and Ellen Nelson and Helen Barta of Great Falls; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Edwards.
She was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Nashua, and graduated from high school in Havre. She married
William Edwards in Shelby; they divorced in 1974. She later married
Don Purcell in Las Vegas.
Ruth worked as a waitress at the Rainbow, Gordon's and Eddie's Supper Club, where she was "always the best."
She loved taking care of cherry orchards, "grew the best cherries," and enjoyed picking them and selling them at the Farmer's Market. She also enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and motorcycle racing.
Her survivors include a grandson, William Allen Edwards; and other special family members.
Memorials are suggested to the Gift of Life.

Tucker Adair Reamy
GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Tucker Adair Reamy, 10, of Grand Forks, N.D., who was born in Great Falls, died Sunday at a Minneapolis hospital of complications from a cord blood transplant he had received for treatment of adrenoleukodystrophy, a degenerative brain disease.
Visitation is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by a prayer service, at University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. His funeral is 1 p.m. Friday at the church. A second service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Great Falls, with burial in Highland cemetery. Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks and O'Connor Funeral Home are handling arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, Rod and Tracy "Marty" Reamy, and a sister, Allyson Reamy, all of Grand Forks; grandparents Gary and Mary Marty of Great Falls; and great-grandmothers Margaret T. Reamy of Hamilton, Va., and Mickey Marty of Big Sandy.
He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Tucker was born Dec. 21, 1992, in Great Falls. When he was 2, he and his family moved to McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, where he learned to ride a bike by the age of 3 and entered pre-school.
In 1997, he moved to Grand Forks, where he began the most formative and wonderful time of his life. He started kindergarten at Lewis and Clark Elementary School in 1998 and was currently in the fourth grade. He loved to go to school to be with his classmates and all of the teachers and staff.
He was very active in local events. He played hockey with the Grand Forks Park Board and the Grand Forks Blues Hockey Association, and also played Park Board Little League. Tucker was active in the Sunday School program at University Lutheran Church, and he looked forward to attending church activities and spending time with all of the many friends he had there.
Tucker will be most remembered for his big brown twinkling eyes, infectious smile and laugh, and most of all, his kind, loving spirit.
