F. Lorrine Metcalf

RENO, Nev. - F. Lorrine Metcalf, 90, of Sula and Reno, Nev., died peacefully Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at home in Reno, surrounded by her two sons and daughters-in-law, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

F. Lorrine Seaton was born Feb. 9, 1910, in Leavenworth, Kan., to the late Helen and George Seaton. She grew up in Missouri with her two brothers, Kenneth and Elwyn. She graduated from Turney High School in 1927. She met and married Bush Metcalf in 1930. They spent most of their lives in Oxnard, Calif., operating an auto business and raising their two sons, Louis and Wayne (Eric).

They first came to Sula in 1948 for a hunting trip. Sula quickly became their hearts' desire and they finally built their home on the East Fork in 1960. From that point on they spent each summer in Montana. As Bush and Lorrine got older, they decided to move closer to their son, Louis and grandchildren in Reno. After Bush's death, she spent the last years of her life in Reno, but continued to share her summers in Sula with Louis and Wayne.

In Reno, she enjoyed trying new restaurants with her family and friends and the thrill of playing a couple of dollars each week for a chance to win Megabucks. Her laughter, wisdom and patience will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Survivors include two sons, Louis and Wayne; a brother, Kenneth Seaton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bush; and her brother, Elwyn Seaton.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Sula Clubhouse. Pastor Martin Lien will officiate. Interment will follow at the Sula cemetery.
