Joseph Morrison, Sr.
Joseph Morrison, Sr. age 64 of Lame Deer passed away on Monday, August 11, 2003 in Lame Deer.
Joe was born on April 6, 1939 the son of Curtis Redneck Morrison and Jennie Medicine Redneck Morrison between Ashland and Birney. He grew up in the Ashland area and was educated at St. Labre. Following his education, Joe began working as a ranch hand. He was united in marriage to Lenora Red Cloud. Together, they had four children and as a family they made their home in Lame Deer. Joe and Lenora later divorced. He was then married
to Lorraine Waters and later divorced. Joe married
Jenny Mary Good Luck 1969 and made their home for the next 28 years in Lodge Grass where he worked as a ranch hand and a custodian at the Lodge Grass High School.Joseph was a member of the Catholic Church and the Chief's Society. He enjoyed doing beadwork, riding horses and being outside, reminiscing about the past as well as hunting.
Joe is survived by his son Joe Morrison Jr., his daughter Brenda Dubray, two step children Clayton Goodluck and Veronica Goodluck, four brothers Xiaver Crazy Mule, Richard Morrison, his adopted brothers Wilmer Spang Sr., and Cedrick Spotted Elk, five sisters Mabel Small, Cora Spotted Elk, Inez Wilson, Rhonda Bullcoming and Adeline Wooden Legs. He is also survived by his special nephew Eugene Hart and family, Beatrice Hart, and Martin Hart Sr., as well as numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jenny, two daughters, Joletta Semonile and Jonetta Sealge, one brother Cedrick Morrison, one sister Elenore Morrison and one grandchild Jimmy Sealge Jr.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at 10:00 AM in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lame Deer. A wake will be on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at 8:00 PM in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lame Deer. Burial will be in the Spotted Elk Family cemetery near Lame Deer.

Noah Matthew Landsrud
Noah Matthew Landsrud was born and died on February 19, 2004 at Northeast Montana Health Services, Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point. He was born to Ken and Ann Landsrud.
He is survived by his parents, his two sisters, Jessica and Kendra Landsrud; grandparents Willard and Lovella Landsrud, Diane Piane all of Wolf Point, George and Roberta Budak of Poplar; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His grandpa Joe Piane preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 1, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Gospel Fellowship Church in Wolf Point.

James Frederick and John Lawrence Klamm
James Frederick & John Lawrence Klamm, infant twin boys of John and Jessica Klamm of Omaha, Nebraska, were stillborn on Sunday, September 28, 2003 in Omaha.
James and John are survived by their parents, John and Jessica (Fox) Klamm, of Omaha, Nebraska, their grandparents; Jake Klamm of Miles City, MT, Chris Klamm of Miles City, MT, Loren Fox of Bertram, TX and Jean Hildebrandt of Bellevue, NE, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Hank Hiwalker
Hank "General" Hiwalker 'Ridgewalker' of Lame Deer, passed from this life to the next on this beautiful day, peacefully surrounded by family and friends on November 20, 2003 at the age of 56.
Hank was born to George and Helen Kinzel Hiwalker on September 3, 1947, one of five sons and three daughters from this marriage. Survivors include his mother Helen, his "other Special Mother by adoption, Nellie Beartusk, Brothers Weaver and Floyd, two sisters, Virginia Ferris and Rose LaFranier. He is also survived by his beloved and adopted son Ron E. Hiwalker - Craig (Wife Stanna) who gave Hank six grandchildren, Erank, -Kyle, LaRissa, Rone, Ellenora and Jeffery. He greatly enjoyed being with his two youngest cherished grandchildren, Ellenora and little Jeffery C. Hiwalker - Craig.
Hank loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, and especially being on wildfires as a Crew Boss. He entered the U.S. Army in July 1972 and was Honorably Discharged in July of 1981. During his time in Germany, Hank became very fluent with the German Language. While in the Military he received numerous medals and awards and considered himself a Military Historian. Hank was a member of the American Legion National Posts #17 & #105 for 24 years. General Omar N. Bradley was one of his Military idols.
Funeral services with full Military Honors will be on Monday, November 24, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lame Deer. A wake will be on Sunday, November 23, 2003 at 7:00 PM in the social room of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lame Deer. Burial will follow in the Hiwalker family cemetery.
Adalberto Espinoza
Adalberto Espinoza, age 16, of Willmar, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2003 in a four-wheeler accident near Miles City, Montana
Adalberto was born on October 1, 1986, in Laredo, Texas the son of Maria Espinoza. He moved to Willmar when he was eight months old. He attended Willmar Schools and also Renville County West for his sophomore year. He was very active in wrestling and once took the State Championship. He was also active in track, music, and drama. He was an active member of the Triumphant Life Church in Willmar. Berto loved to write music and break-dance. In 2002, he was on stage at the Sonshine Festival. He was in Montana at the time of his death performing his music and dance for a church youth rally.
Adalberto is survived by his mother, Maria Espinoza of Willmar, MN; two brothers: Fabian Saenz and Deric Saenz both of Willmar; three sisters: Ruby Saenz, Nancy Saenz, and Ericka Saenz all of Willmar; and his grandmother, Maria H. Espinoza of Willmar. He is also survived by two uncles, Roman (and Noelia) Espinoza and Julian Espinoza both of Willmar, MN; and four aunts: Charitina Espinoza, Ester (And Eduardo) Hernandez, Rosa Maria (and Dave) Breikreutz, and Norma Espinoza all of Willmar, along with other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 26th at 1:00 p.m. at the Triumphant Life Church in Willmar with the Rev. Gary Gnirk officiating. The interment will be in the Fairview cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Triumphant Life Church and one hour prior to the services. Francine DeCoteau
Francine DeCoteau, age 40, passed away at her home in Poplar on January 27, 2004.
Francine was born July 11, 1963 in Poplar to Elmer and Elizabeth DeCoteau. She attended school in Poplar and Newark, CA. She worked as a fire fighter for the BLM, as a state highway flagger and at A & S Industries in Poplar. She was a child care worker and assisted all of her family with their children. Francine enjoyed spending time with her friends and families. She always opened her home to anyone who needed refuge. She loved to give everyone a nickname. Francine loved animals, laughing, joking and teasing.
Francine is survived by her mother Elizabeth DeCoteau of Poplar, her three sisters, Eliza (Richard) Young, Jeanine DeCoteau, Birdie (Rick) Hawk, all of Poplar; her brothers, Elmer D. (Kristy) DeCoteau, Lonnie DeCoteau, Charles Al DeCoteau, all of Poplar, Lester Dale (Crystal) DeCoteau of West Mesa, UT, Carroll (Nadine) James of Frazer, MT. She is also survived by aunts Hazel (Harry) Three Stars of Poplar and Deloris (Maynard) Dickinson of WA, uncles Clayton (Doris) Lester of Scottsdale, AZ and Cody DeCoteau of FL, 12 nephews, 8 nieces, and numerous cousins, and adopted brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her father Elmer DeCoteau, brother Emerson DeCoteau, niece Erin DeCoteau, and nephew Jeffery Douglas.
A wake will be held on Friday, January 30, 2004 beginning at 4 p.m. at the Lindsay Memorial Church in Poplar. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31 at 10 a.m. at Lindsay Memorial Church. Interment will be in Poplar City cemetery. Caleb John Anderson
Caleb John Anderson peacefully joined the angels Tuesday January 6, 2004 at his home in Forsyth, after a courageous battle with cancer. Caleb was born on a chilly Friday night, December 28, 2001 to his mommy, Monica Anderson and his dad, Clint Boyer. The name Caleb means "bravery" and it certainly proved true for this little boy. In late December 2001 Caleb was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer, Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. Caleb gallantly endured intense treatment, and through it all a huge smile remained on his angelic face. He enjoyed all the treats that any little boy does, from playing outside to reading a book with mommy, watching videos, and chocolate milk. Caleb brought so much joy to everyone who had the good fortune of knowing him and will forever be loved and remembered in the hearts of so many.
Caleb is survived by his mommy-Monica Anderson, dad-Clint Boyer, grandparents-Loretta Lindeman, Stuart Lumsden, Steve and Vickie Boyer, Tom and Dawn Anderson, John and Erin Miller, great grandparents-Rev. Conrad and Patricia Lindeman, Janet Miller, Jerry and Shirley Anderson, aunts-Shawna, Sherri, Brandi, Rebecka, Amanda, Elizabeth, and Connie, uncles-Claire, Harold, and Chris, numerous cousins and other family members including a few very special ones- Tristin, Wyatt, Tynan, Deb, Misty, Guy, Rory, Talon, Cara, Boots, Jody, and Cedar along with everyone who has a special place in their heart for him.

James Greenwood
James Matthew Greenwood, age 19, of Broadus, MT was called to the Lord unexpectedly on Friday, December 3, 2004 from injuries he sustained in an accident while employed in Oklahoma.
James was born on July 12, 1985 in Miles City, Montana. He grew up on Pumpkin Creek in Sonnette, Montana attending grade school and high school in Broadus. He graduated from Powder River County High School in May of 2004. He was baptized, confirmed and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Broadus. James liked to hunt, fish and go camping. He spent many hours doing those things with the people who were closest to him. He enjoyed doing almost anything with his younger brother Jade. James had a generous heart, infectious smile and a love for life. After graduation this spring, he went to Mississippi to visit his father and extended family. He also spent his days off from work with his family there. He had been working for Seismic Drilling Services since August 1, 2004.
James is survived by his grandparents Russ and Carol Greenwood of Sonnnette, his sister Brittney, a senior at Powder River County High School, his brother Jade Hunt and stepfather Jess Hunt and family of Goldendale, WA. He is survived by his Aunt Vicki DeSart and Rob Goodnough and cousin Travis Greenwood of Spearfish, SD, uncles Mike (Darla) Greenwood and Randy Greenwood of Baraboo, WI and cousins Morgan, Andrew, Dillen and Tyler. He is also survived by his great-grandmothers Juanita Greenwood and Ester Neuman of Baraboo, WI. James is survived by his father Jay (Kim) Pounds of McComb, MS and family members Mike & Stacy and their children Mason and Abigail, Tina & Mitch and their children Chance and Alex and by Jonathan. James was preceded in death by his mother Becky Greenwood Hunt in 1997 and his great grandfathers George Greenwood and Harold Newman.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 10, 2004 with the family to receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 10:30 at the Powder River Congregational Church in Broadus. Burial will take place at the family ranch in Broadus, at later date.

Shirley Q. Red Boy, age 85, of Poplar, MT
Mr. Shirley Q. Red Boy, 'Wambdi Okiceta' (War Eagle), age 85, of Poplar, Montana passed away Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
Shirley was born October 5, 1921 in Brockton, MT to Harry and Josephine (Zahn) Red Boy.
He married
Rose Louise Small of Missouri at Glasgow, Mt. and they had two children, Sharon and George.
He enlisted in the US Army Sept, 16, 1940 in an 'All Indian' CO 'B' 163rd. Infantry, the 'Sunset 41st. Div. stationed in Poplar, MT. It was the first Volunteer Army activated in Federal Service.
Military awards consist of : 15 ribbons, Asiatic-Pacific Defense Medal with ribbon with 7 combat bronze battle stars (each represents each island taken) American Defense Medal with ribbon, World War II Victory Medal with ribbon, Combat Infantryman's Badge with rifle on blue medal, American Campaign Medal with ribbon, National Defense Medal with ribbon, Good Conduct Medal with ribbon, Oversea Army ribbon, Soldier's ribbon, Combat Action ribbon, NCO (Non-commission Officer's ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Blues shoulder cord, Expedition ribbon. Many Military awards such as : Rifle Expert, Machine gun heavy water-cool, Light machine-gun, recoilless Rifle, carbine Rifle, Tank weapon, Hand-grenade, Bayonet and a Jungle Expert patch. He also received an American US Flag from Pres. Ronald Reagan, our 40th President 1981 to 1989.
Shirley was a Lifetime VFW Post #1755 Wolf Point, Lifetime DAV Chapter 10 Billings, Lifetime American Legion Post #61 Brockton and member in the Native American Veterans Association Wolf Point.
Shirley is survived by his daughter, Sharon Kay Red Boy and her family of Nebraska and his son George Red Boy and his family of California; he is also survived by the Smoker, Ironman, Boyd, Shield and Red Boy families of the Fort Peck Reservation.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center with cremation following as requested by Shirley. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside cemetery, Brockton.
Sondra Keller
Sondra Lee Wright Keller, 29, beloved wife, daughter, sister and aunt, took the Lord's hand and was led to Heaven on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007.
Sondra was born June 2, 1978, in Wolf Point, the youngest daughter of Debra and Huber Wright. She grew up in Oswego and attended school in Nashua, Mont., graduating in 1996. While in school, she was active in band and was a cheerleader.
In September of 1994, Sondra became a proud aunt to Lena Nickolle, her only niece, whom she adored. They liked to hang out together and Sondra was her biggest fan, cheering Lena on at her basketball games. Sondra helped her mom and aunt Joyce at their day care, enjoying the interaction with the children.
In June of 1996, she met the love of her life, Kris Keller.
Sondra attended two years of college at Fort Peck Community College in Poplar and Wolf Point, earning a associates of arts and a paraprofessional ed certificate, being on the Dean's List every semester. She worked at Treasure Chest Gifts/Free Trader for her future mother-in law, Patti, from the fall of '96 to the fall of '99.
Kris and Sondra were married
on May 29, 1999. That fall, Kris and Sondra moved to Mitchell, S.D., where Kris attended school and Sondra worked for Bauer Dental.
In May 2000, they moved to Poplar, Mont. While living in Poplar, Sondra worked for the Poplar Schools with Dannette O'Conner and learned the art of quilting from Dannette, spending countless hours with her teacher. Sondra created many beautiful quilts for her family and friends. In April of 2002, they moved to Wolf Point, purchasing Kris' childhood home and making it their own. Shortly after, they acquired Emily, Sondra's puppy, who gave her much joy. Sondra worked at the Wolf Point Federal Credit Union and then Farm Bureau Insurance. She attended many workshops across the state, making new friends.
Sondra became an outdoors-women, learning to camp and fish alongside her husband. She fished in the annual Women's Walleye Tournament, placing every time she fished. Sondra was a member of the Montana Walleyes Unlimited and participated in many of their activities. Sondra caught a 32.5-pound walleye and, much to the dismay of her husband, released it to be caught another day.
Sondra was always seen packing a book. Reading was her passion and if the book was GOOD, she would read it a second or third time. Her book collection was massive, and she loved to share her books. In January of 2006, Sondra was diagnosed with Angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Through all of her treatments, Sondra stayed positive, joking with the nurses, and playing games with her family. During this time, she made hats for the Northern Rockies Radiation Oncology Center, knowing that other women would appreciate her talents.
This past summer, Sondra got a Red Scooter. She could be seen driving around town, enjoying the summer breeze, giving her mom, sister or niece a ride. In August of this year, Sondra was honored to light the Torch of Hope at the Northeast Montana Relay for Life. Her team, Sondra's Crusaders, wore purple camo T-shirts, an idea Sondra and one of her nurses came up with. Sondra especially enjoyed Girls' Night, a night of doing crafts or playing games, eating and visiting with her mom, sister, niece, aunts and many cousins. She loved shopping and going to lunch with her dear friend, Verna Cotton.
Sondra was a wonderful, thoughtful, caring women, always putting the needs of others before her own, even after being diagnosed with cancer. She loved playing Yahtzee with her family.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Leah Bauer and James and Lena Wright; and an uncle, Sam Bauer.
She is survived by her husband, Kris Keller of Wolf Point; her parents, Debra and Huber Wright; sister, Christine and Dave, and her precious niece, Leena Nickolle of Oswego; her in-laws, Duane and Patti Kern Parcel; brothers-in-law, Matthew Keller of Wolf Point and Josh Keller and Cassie of Havre; all her aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas and cousins; and special friends, Kent and Verna Cotton of Wolf Point and Shirley Turner of Pennsylvania.
A Family and Friend Service will be held for Sondra at 7:00 p.m. Friday November 30, 2007 at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 1 at Wolf Point High School gymnasium. Reverend Steve Smith will officiate and interment will follow at Greenwood cemetery. A lunch will be provided at the Wolf Point High School cafeteria.

"Little Eagle Woman"
Jessica Nicole Bauer "Jessie B" passed away August 25, 2007 at North East Montana Hospital in Poplar. She was born May 19, 1981 to Joseph Bauer and JoAnna Spotted Wolf in Poplar.
Jessie lived a short time in California and Texas, but mostly grew up in Poplar. In her adolescent years she attended Circle of Nations boarding school in Wahpeton, North Dakota. She graduated from Poplar High School in 2000. While attending Poplar High School she loved and played basketball and volleyball. Jessie also attended college off and on throughout the years. She just enrolled at For Peck Community College for fall semester, 2007.
Jessie married
Billy Lindsay Sr. in 1998 and from this union they had three beautiful children, Loverty Jay (9), Billy Jr. (7) and Danny Dale (6). They later divorced. Jessie also gave birth to two more beautiful babies, Kelby Deshawn (2) and Juellz Jay (1) "Sugar Bear." Jessie was devoted to her children. She was a wonderful mother!
Jessie enjoyed spending her time with her children and her many friends. She enjoyed cruising around bassing out! She had a smile for everybody. Her home was open to everyone and she took care of the many that came through her door. Jessie always had stories to tell sitting around visiting her cousins and friends. Jessie was a kind-hearted and loving person.
Jessie loved to go to pow-wows. She enjoyed talking and text messaging on her phone to all her friends. She was a very happy person and surrounded herself with loved ones and would always have a good time. She loved telling jokes and making people laugh too. She always was there when someone needed a friend to talk to and give advice if she could. When in need she was willing to help in any way she could.
Jessie is survived by her 5 children, Loverty, Billy Jr. and Danny, of Wolf Point, Kelby of Frazer and Juellz J of Wolf Point. Her sisters Krista and special niece, Erica of Handford, CA, Melissa Jackson and daughter, Blaine of Poplar, Belle Starr of Poplar and Angel Bighorn of Brockton. Her brothers Dustin and Talon Bauer of Caruthersville, MO. Her parents Joseph (Elisha) Bauer of Caruthersville, MO and JoAnna (Loren) Spotted Wolf of Poplar. Her grandparents Sam (Ruby) Bauer of Wolf Point, Gloria "Coco" Buck of Havre, Vera and John Ironman of Poplar and Theodore "Butch" (Patty) Grandchamp Sr. of Frazer. Her Uncles Todd (Patti) Bauer, Ivan Roberts, Clarence Spotted Wolf, August "Jug" Spotted Wolf, Austin "Moose" Spotted Wolf, Ted Jr., John, George and Phillip Grandchamp. Her Aunties Linda (George) Dean, Agnes "Babygirl" Spotted Wolf, Neva (Robbie) Spotted Wolf, Lucinda (Rich) DeLeon and Dawn Dumont. And numerous cousins too many to mention - but loved them all!
Jessie is preceded in death by her Uncle Lloyd Spotted Wolf and cousin Niki Dean.
Visitation will be Friday, August 31, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel, Wolf Point and then at 5:30 pm at the Poplar Cultural Center.
