Charles Comes Last
Charles (Chucky) Comes Last, age 66, of Omak, WA formerly of Wolf Point, MT, departed this world on Feb 4, 2011 at 1:09 p.m. at the Valley Care Center in Okanogan, WA.
Chucky was born to Albert Comes Last and Margaret Shyface- Comes Last in Frazer, MT on September 19, 1944. Chucky loved spending time with his family playing cards and dice. He cherished every moment spent with the babies and enjoyed the company of friends. Uncle chuck was always watching boxing and basketball on T.V. he also kept up on world events. Chuck often listened to oldies and country music. He loved to play the slot machines most of all.
Charles Comes Last was preceded in death by his mother, Margarets Shyface; father, Albert Comes Last; sisters, Belva Comes Last, Vera Standfast, Rose Marie Bercier, and Nancy Garfield; brothers, Floyd Comes Last and Percy Comes Last.
He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Shawl of Omak, WA; brother, Alfred Comes Last of Wolf Point; daughter, Coleen Comes Last of Seattle, WA; 4 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Uncle will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, February 10 at the Wolf Point Community Hall. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, February 11 also at the Wolf Point Community Hall. Interment will follow at the Oswego Presbyterian cemetery in Oswego, MT.

Kurt Murdock
Kurt Wade Murdock 'Hu-ob' (Wounded Leg), age 38, of Frazer, MT passed away December 27, 2010 in Poplar, MT.
Kurt, the son of Albert 'Bert' and Rosella (McConnell) Murdock, was born June 27, 1972 in Wolf Point, MT. Kurt was raised in Frazer, where he attended school and played football all 4 years of high school and was a manager for 2 years. After graduating from high school he attended the Institute of American Indian Arts.
Over the years, Kurt was a reserve officer for two years and worked for Albertsons, security at the Silver Wolf Casino, cook and security at local Bingos in Frazer and at the Red Bottom Celebration.
He enjoyed visiting with friends and family telling stories of crazy things he had done or what someone else had done. Kurt also played the drums for starting line ups for the Bearcubs, he was known for playing 'Wipe Out' on the drums. Kurt was always laughing or making someone else laugh. He loved Christmas just like a little kid he woke up early, wanting to open the gifts.
Kurt taught himself to play the guitar and became quite good at playing along with many songs that came on the radio or on one of his many cds. He loved heavy metal and loved to play them loud. He loved his family and spending time with them. Kurt was a teaser, if Kurt wasn't teasing you, he was telling stories about you or someone else.
Kurt is survived by sisters, Debra J. Murdock of Frazer, Barbara (Franklyn) Dumont of Wolf Point; brother, Douglas 'Dougal' Murdock of Frazer; nephews, Jason (Lisa) Murdock of Wolf Point, Aaron J. Murdock of Frazer, Ivan Archdale of Wolf Point; nieces, CPO Vangie Beston of Waynesboro, PA and Shaedell Adams of Frazer; grandkids, Nathan, Alyssa, Alexis Murdock of Wolf Point, Caitlyn Beston of Wanesboro; adopted brothers, Huber (Deb) Wright of Oswego, MT, David Adams of Brockton, MT, Robert (Charlene) Archdale, Richard (Pheobe) Blount, and Miles Jackson all of Wolf Point and Jeff (Lynette) Cappo of Regina, Sask, Canada; sister in law, Janice Murdock of Fort Peck, MT; aunts, Audrey (Tony) Hall of Billings, Florence Buck of Frazer, Ruth Todd of Frazer, and Daisy Sherman of Havre; uncles, C.H. He is preceded in death by grandparents, James McConnell, Sr., Fanny McConnell, George Cheyenne Murdock and Daisy Boxer; parents, Albert L. 'Bert' Murdock, Sr. and Rosella Murdock; and a brother, Albert G. Murdock, Jr.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 29 at the Frazer Community Hall. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 30 also at the Frazer Community Hall. Interment will follow at the Oswego Catholic cemetery in Oswego.

Nevaeha Lee-Dritz Follmer
Nevaeha Lee-Dritz Follmer, infant daughter of Laycee Rae Dawn Ghiorso of Glendive entered into Heaven on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Nevaeha is survived by her mother, Laycee Ghiorso of Glendive, MT; a brother Patrick Ghiorso of Glendive, MT; a sister Iris Ghiorso of Glendive, MT; her grandmother Theresa Bear of Billings, MT; and great grandparents Bonita and Ervin Follmer of Glendive, MT.
Private family services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
Geneva Medicine Elk
Geneva Medicine Elk - MaŽovsaŽe (Red Haired Woman), age 62 of Lame Deer, MT passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at St. Vincent Health Care Center in Billings, Montana.
She was born in Lame Deer, MT on June 3rd, 1948 the daughter of Margaret Medicine Elk. She grew up in Lame Deer and attended local schools she graduated from Busby Boarding School. She attended one year of nursing school in Michigan. She was a spiritual woman who completed all her sun dance vows and earned her paints. Geneva married
Newton American Horse and they later divorced.
Geneva was preceded in death by her mother and fathers Fred Whiteman and Fred White Wolf; her sisters Cleo Medicine Elk, Delores White Wolf, and Gwenda Whiteman; her brothers George and John Lone Elk and Clayton Troy Laforge; her Grandfather Peter Whiteman; her Grandmother Mabel PrettyOnTop
She is survived by her sons Travis, Waylon and Cyryil American Horse; her adopted daughters Tami Horn, Theresa RedNeck, Zeniada BlackWolf, Connie Nomee, Gizelle Kellum, Edwina ThreeIrons, Tamara LittleBear and Jackie Foote; her sisters Alvera (Tim) Cook, Ardith (Lloyd) Hogan and Brenda (Ertis) Fighter; her brothers Bernadine, Elvis and Lloyd Lone Elk Sr., Leroy and Robert Maass, Fred White Wolf Jr., Leslie(Theresa) White Wolf, Mark (Ruth) White Wolf and Clifford (Octa) Small; her Aunt Henrietta PrettyOnTop and Uncle John PrettyOnTop. Joshua K. Mann
COLSTRIP - Joshua K. Mann 16, a sophomore at Colstrip High School, chose to leave this world February 22nd and flew on angels wings to meet his Grandpa Smuck and will be with him in Heaven.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Mon., Feb. 28 at the Malta Lutheran Church in Malta. Cremation will follow the funeral services. Josh was born Sept. 12, 1994 in Havre, Montana the son of Jody S. Mann and Jamie Allery. He lived life to the fullest and was treasured and loved by all. He had his dad's competitive nature and excelled at wrestling and baseball. Josh won the 98 pound State Wrestling Championship in 2010 and was part of the Team Montana at Disneyworld that year. He was an accomplished bow hunter and would set for hours in his tree stand on his beloved river bends in Malta. He drew a moose permit and bagged a bull moose with his Grandpas long bow. He and his dad were avid hounds men and loved his dogs.
For all who touched Josh in his travels, and there are many, Josh always held a special place for you in his heart. Josh was especially blessed to be associated with a tight knit wrestling community, the brotherhood of wrestlers and coaches across this state, who helped shape Josh's life.
We are so proud of the young man you grew to be Josh, and loved you unconditionally. We will miss you every day of our lives.

Conrad Lindeman
Conrad Henry Lindeman, 83 of Forsyth went to rest in the arms of Jesus March 29, 2011. His wife and family were at his side as he was ushered into heaven. Con passed away at Rosebud Health Care Center after an extended illness.
Con was born June 5, 1927 in Miles City, MT to Nellie May and Otto Miester Lindeman. He grew up in Miles City where he resided with his family for some time at North Sunday Creek where his father had a coal mine. Returning to Miles City he attended grade school and high school while working at an auto repair garage and Occident Elevator Company. At 17 years old he joined the US Navy and served on the USS Stockton DD-646 naval destroyer from 1942-1946. After circumnavigating the world he was honorably discharged with the rank of Seaman First Class. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign medal, World War II Victory medal along with numerous medals and honors of recognition. After his honorable discharge and a year of courtship, Con and Patricia Johnson were married
June 8, 1947. They began their life long journey in Los Angeles, CA where they attended the Light House International Four Square Evangelism College, graduating in 1950. As an ordained minister he pastored churches in Idaho, California, North Dakota and Montana. He joined the Church of God in 1958 and pastored churches in Montana for 55 years concluding the last 17 years of ministry at the Community Church in Rosebud. During their 63 years of marriage they were blessed with nine children and cared for 17 foster children. In addition to his ministry, this loving father supported his family as an electrician, holding the position of foreman during the Colstrip project. Con loved hunting, camping, woodworking and family gatherings. He approached life with a twinkle in his eye and a crooked smile on his face and never a complaint on his lips. In his many accomplishments he served as a Boy Scout representative, president of the PTA and PTA council and president of the Forsyth Ministerial Association. He held various positions at the state and regional level to support the Church of God ministers and missions.
Con, this loving, patient and dedicated husband and father is survived by his wife Pat of Forsyth, his sister Nellie Williamson of Miles City, his children Sharon Flynn - Helena, Dick (April) Lindeman - Columbia Falls, Jennie (Duane) - Helena, Loretta (Stu) - Havre, Leona - Helena, Daniel (Janet) Lindeman - Lemon SD, Ben (Jaki) Lindeman - Bozeman, Tina Gergen - Forsyth, Lisa Wood - Bemidji, MN, foster daughter Carolyn Schenk - Forsyth, 28 grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren, two nephews, three nieces and many friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Marie Radmer and her husband George, Brother-in-law Alfred Williamson, Sons in law; Bob Wetherall, Ray Austin, Steve Flynn, and great grandson Caleb Anderson.
Viewing will be Thursday, March 31, 2011, 2-6pm at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth, MT with family receiving friends from 4-6pm. Funeral services will be Friday, April 1, 2011, 11am in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth, MT. Burial with full military honors will be at 3pm at the Custer County cemetery in Miles City, MT.

LuVerne Dale Woodall
LuVerne Dale 'Vern' Woodall, age 87, of Miles City passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011 in Miles City.
Vern was born on October 1, 1923 in Burlington, Washington, the son of Lawrance and Goldie Woodall.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lucine Woodall of Miles City, MT; two daughters: Jael Woodall and Linda Richard Keller both of Miles City, MT; two sisters: Iris Lampert of South Carolina and Florence Barton of Frankfort, KY; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Tim Woodall; a sister Donna Chandler and a brother Larry Woodall.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 101 N. Strevell, Miles City, MT. Interment will be in the family lot of the Cohagen cemetery at Cohagen, MT.
Lewis Turner
Lewis Turner, age 77, of Miles City passed away Monday, March 21st, 2011 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care.
Lew was born on January 3rd, 1934 in Lawton, Michigan to Leonard and Marion Turner. He grew up and attended schools in Michigan, until he began working for Michigan Winery and Sherburn Farms in Michigan. He moved to Montana thirty-six years ago, and worked for Roundup, Powder, and Custer County Road Department. He retired in 1994. He also worked for Fred Wacker at Cross 4 Ranch and was a caretaker at the Eastern Montana Fairground and at Matthew's Park. Lew loved fishing, camping, and riding his four-wheeler (with his cap on backwards), and spending time with friends, family, and his dogs, Dotti, Amos, and Sassy.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of Miles City; children, Buster (Martha), Ren (Ann), Steve (Laura), Lois Ann (Mike), all of Michigan; sisters Molly Coombs and Nancy Turner Norman (Jean), both of Michigan; step-children Kevin Turner, Stacy Farmer (Ryan), Curt Turner, all of Bozeman, Montana, and Darcy (Kurt) Christopherson of Miles City. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lew was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, and his two dogs, Dottie and Amos.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Burial will be in the family lot of the Custer County cemetery. Kenneth Wayne Kohones
Kenneth Wayne Kohones "Kenny", age 62, passed away at Holy Rosary Healthcare, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 with family by his side.
Kenny was born May 30, 1948 in Miles City, MT to F.T. "George" Kohones and Fern Lambert Kohones. He grew up and attended school in Miles City until he joined the U.S. Army in 1967. Kenny was a paratrooper in the 173rd Air Brigade, in which he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was injured in combat and was awarded the Purple Heart along with numerous other medals. He was then reassigned to the 82nd Airborne and redeployed to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. While stationed in Fort Bragg, he met and wed the love of his life, Sandi in 1972.
Throughout his life, Kenny held careers in the oil field, mining, construction and truck driving. He loved riding his four-wheeler and motorcycle, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and dogs, and caring for his father. He was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul and loved helping people; if you ever woke up on a snowy day to a plowed drive-way - chances are it was Kenny.
He is survived by his father, George of Miles City, MT; his wife, Sandi; three sons, Michael of Miles City, Kenneth Jr. (Erica) of Casper, WY, and Tom (Karlie) of Colorado Springs, CO; a step-daughter, Nichole (Steve) of Wilmington, NC; a step-son, Brian (Kim) of Brooklyn, NY; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fern; his son, Shane; and his step-mother, Joan.
Family will receive friends on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Eastern Montana State Veteran's cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1579. Katherine Sue Corson
Katherine 'Kathy' Sue Corson, age 55, of Miles City passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at her home with her children by her side.
Kathy was born on August 11, 1955 to her parents, Norman Duncklee and Anita Baloo. She grew up and attended schools in Rochester, New York and graduated from high school in Concord, New Hampshire. Kathy attended Dartmouth College, and moved to Miles City in 1989. She made Miles City her home in which to raise her family. Kathy loved to make and collect jewelry, garden, collect agates, and read her Bible. Most of all, she loved her family and was very proud of them. She home-schooled all of her children, whom she loved dearly.
Kathy is survived by her father, Norman Duncklee of Montpelier, Vermont; her sons, Christian MacFarland of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Joshua (Odessa) Corson of Miles City, Montana, Zechariah (Cierra Coon) Corson of Miles City, Montana, and Urijah Corson of Miles City, Montana; her daughters, Bethesda (Zachary) Acord of Ewa Beach, Hawaii and Crystal Corson of Miles City, Montana; her brother, Eric Duncklee of Vermont; and her six grandchildren. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Anita.
A private family funeral will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Burial will follow the funeral services at the Custer County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons have been entrusted with the arrangements.
Katherine Coil
Katherine 'Kathy' Gilmore Coil, age 78, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at her home in Miles City.
Kathy was born on November 18, 1932 in Ismay, Montana to Ralph and Helen Gilmore. She joined a sister, Opal. They later moved to Deer Lodge, Montana and lived there until the time of her father's death. Kathy, her mother and sister then moved to Miles City, Montana. Her mother, Helen, later married
Alfred Bensley and a brother, Allan, joined the family. Kathy attended schools in Miles City and graduated from CCHS. Kathy worked at various places, including The Miles City Merc and the Custer County Treasurer's Office. She enjoyed her working years and her co-workers. In 1952, Kathy married
Tom Coil, and had a daughter, Rhonda, and a stillborn daughter, Brenda. They were later divorced.
Kathy enjoyed being a homemaker and mother. The most important things in her life were the love and companionship of her family and friends. To her, they were the greatest treasures. She enjoyed crocheting and many of her family members have loving throws created by her. Anyone who knew her knew that even in the darkest of times, her sense of humor always prevailed.
Kathy is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Detwiler and a former son-in-law, Bill Detwiler (who has been like a son); a brother, Allan Bensley and his wife Nancy; a special niece, Pam Wall (who has been like a daughter) and her husband Doug; and their extended families. She is also survived by a nephew, Rod Kelly and his wife Marilyn and family; her former sister-in-law, Linda Bensley; a nephew Jes Bensley and family; a niece Gina Sawyer and her husband Matt and family; a nephew Gary Owens and his wife Janie and family and numerous other special nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; and special friends: Betty, Elna, Bonnie, Helen, Anne, Mick and other loving friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Gilmore, her mother Helen Gilmore-Bensley, her sister, Opal, brother-in-law Frank Kelly; step-father, Alfred Bensley; sister-in-law, Margie Owens and other Special aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lydia Christina Hafla
Lydia Christina Hafla, age 87, of Miles City passed away on February 4, 2005 at the Holy Rosary Heath Center in Miles City, MT.
Lydia was born on November 21, 1917 in Purewater, Montana to Daniel and Christena (Ackerman) Erlenbusch. She attended school in Purewater, later working as a cook during the 30s. Lydia returned to Cohagen where she met and later married
Anton Hafla on June 7, 1942 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Lydia and Anton moved to the family ranch in Cohagen where they farmed and ranched until 2002, when they moved to Miles City, making their home there since.
Lydia enjoyed fishing, crocheting and gardening, especially her flowers. She loved her cats and dogs. She was a member of the Newdorfer Lutheran Church at Rock Springs, Montana.
Lydia is survived by her husband Anton Hafla, of Miles City, four sons; Marvin (Eleanor) Hafla of Miles City, MT, Glenn Hafla of Miles City, Dennis (Fritzi) Hafla of Miles City, and Gene (Nancy) Hafla of Glendive, three daughters; Shirley (Bennie) Svenson of Glendive, MT, Sharon Hafla of Glendive, MT, Cheryl Smutt of Miles City, MT, fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Rudolph, Gust, and Dan and one sister, Anna Mowry.
