In 1999, they made their home in Billings. Rose became a tattoo apprentice at Eagle Tattoo in Billings. She enjoyed tattooing very much and it was a passion in her life.

Virginia Koch

1934 - 2004

Funeral services for Virginia Koch, 70, Sidney, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at the Lonsdale United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Ashton officiating. Music selections will be provided by Mary Pfau and Elaine Stedman. Casketbearers are her grandchildren, and ushers are Brian McPherson and Brian DiFonzo. Interment will be in the Sidney Cemetery under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.

Virginia Caroline Koch was born in Sidney on May 10, 1934, the oldest daughter of Darold and Mabel (Kallevig) Jones. She attended Sidney Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1952. Many years later, she is still close friends with her classmates.

On July 3, 1952, she married the love of her life, Bob Koch, in Lonsdale Methodist Church in Sidney. In the first year of marriage, they moved five times, finally settling in their home of 51 years south of Sidney. There, they raised their five girls and enjoyed all 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one adopted great-granddaughter.

The last two years were spent traveling and enjoying life on the road in their home on the go. During their travels in the winter months, they made many more friends in Mexico, Florida, Alaska, Colorado and other places along the way. She loved to spend time at the lake fishing and enjoying time with family.

Virginia ws not only Mom to her five girls, she was Mama Ginny to many foster kids including baby Chad, daycare kids, rodeo kids and wrestling kids - many of whom would greet her with a cheerful, "Hi Mom" as they passed by. The term son-in-law didn't apply as they were all loved as sons, and the feeling is mutual.

She and Bob spent a lot of time with good friends Gene and Alice Severson and other parents hauling the group of mounted drill team members, the Valley Vaqueros, to fairs and events across the state to perform. During the school year, she became a wrestling fan, cheering right along with her daughters. During the summer, she hauled to rodeos watching her daughters and rodeo kids compete.

Many a Saturday was spent going to yard sales in the summer, unable to pass up a bargain whether she had a use for it or not because she was sure someone would. Our hope is that there are yard sales in heaven and that she has a QVC card with no limit for all the items she thought she needed that still might be on the way!

When the grandkids started coming, she made sure she was there for the birth of every one. She lovingly took care of her mother after her father passed away. Her smile could warm a room, and she always had one for everyone she saw.

She was a lifelong member of Lonsdale Methodist Church and enjoyed activities with her church family. She was a giving, caring person whether it was her family, friends or a stranger who needed a hand, never expecting anything in return. One of her gifts was that she treated everyone with dignity and respect regardless of where they lived, who they were or how much they had.

Virginia died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, in Sidney.

Virginia is survived by her husbandBob, Sidney; mother, Mabel Jones, Sidney; daughters, Cindy (Jerry) Tippett, Sidney, Roxie (Dennis) Foster, Morriston, Fla., Pam (Rockie) Taylor, Sidney, Tana (Larry) Staal, Killdeer, N.D., and Shelly (Chuck) Fratzke, Grand Junction, Colo.; grandkids Shelby (Brian) DiFonzo, Kelley, Jessica and Josi Tippett, Audie (Kim Burman) and Shanti Taylor, Conn and Meagan Foster, Shannon (Brian) McPherson and Tyler Staal, and K.C., Linsey, Clayton and Eden Fratzke; great-grandkids, Bradyn McPherson and Teigan Taylor, and one adopted, Tayler Lange; brothers, Bill Jones, Billings, Clifford (Marcella) Jones, Sidney, and John (Lois) Jones, Sidney; sisters, Loretta "Lori" (Bill) Belinski, Billings, and Dorothy (Sheryl) Price, Glendive; and a very special friend, Elaine Haugen.
