Patricia Lynn Follett
Patricia Lynn Follett died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings.
She was loving companion and best friend to James J. Chapman.
A very gentle and compassionate person, she will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Pat was a valued paralegal and office administrator for Drysdale, McLean and Nellen for the last nine years.
She is survived by her son, Rob Follett (Joriece) and grandchildren of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Kathleen Ouma of Reno, Nev., and Billie Klan, and parents, William and Lucille McKay of Seattle.
Friends are invited to a celebration of her life to be held at Boodles in Bozeman at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24.
Donations in her name to the Humane Society would be appreciated.
Robert John Eike
Robert "Bob" John Eike, 77, of Melstone, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Parkview Convalescent Home in Billings.
Bob was born Aug. 31, 1923, in Grass Range to Olaf and Hanna (Kraft) Eike. After graduation from Winnett High School, he served in the Army during WWII, being honorably discharged in Oct. of 1945 from the 772nd Tank Battalion.
On Sept. 27, 1946 he married Florence Leona Petersen in Roundup. Together, until his death, they raised four children, ten grandchildren and three great children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Olaf Lyle and George Hjalmer Eike.
Survivors include his wife, Florence, of Melstone; sister, lean Crawford of Simi Valley Calif.; three daughters, Elva (Don) Arthur of Bozeman, Leta (Ed) Grebe of Melstone and Bette (Start) Newman of Hayward Calif., and son, John (Kathy) Eike of Melstone; grandsons, Shawn (Nadelle) Arthur of Great Falls, Shane Arthur of Enumclaw Wash., Shannon Arthur of Bozeman, Ben (Tina) Newman of Billings, Jason (Janel) Grebe of Melstone, Ole Eike of Billings and Kale Eike of Melstone; granddaughters Skeeter Newman of Las Vegas, Sheila Arthur of Billings and Leah Eike of Dickinson N.D.; great granddaughters Vanessa and Tayler Newman of Billings and great-grandson Brody Grebe of Melstone.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at the Community Centerin Melstone.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
Iva M. Matthews
Iva May Matthews, 76, died Aug. 11, 2001 at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.
Iva was born to Tom and Dirkie VanderWerff Verwolf on May 22, 1925 in Manhattan, and she spent her childhood in Manhattan.
On Feb. 5, 1943, she married Merle Matthews and they had 50 great years together before Merle died in July 1993.
She owned and operated the Shanty Café for many years. Upon selling it, she worked at Western Café, the Pines Café and at Restvedt's Meat Market.
During her retirement she enjoyed bowling and was an avid bingo player. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Iva was a loving and generous person and was well-known for her friendly and outgoing personality. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Betty Verwolf of Paramount, Calif.; three sons, Dennis Matthews of Bozeman, LeRoy and his wife Linda Matthews and James Matthews, all of Livingston; grandchildren Lonnie Matthews of Anchorage, Alaska, Leanne Landrum of Florence, KY, Dan Matthews of Livingston, and Jeremy Matthews; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Trevor of Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, George, Albert and Myrtle, and two sisters, Anna and Thelma.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 15 at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel, with burial at Sunset Memorial Park.

Pauline McGuire
Pauline McGuire, 72, of Three Forks died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. Pauline was born on a ranch near Pony on April 13, 1929, the youngest of seven children to Leo and Pearl (Rue) Lau.
At the age of 5, Pauline developed polio which affected her for the rest of her life. She never complained, and this adversity many will say strengthened her willpower.
She attended schools in Pony, Butte, Belgrade, Chestnut and Polson.
In 1945, she moved to Trident and was a clerk at the Trident Store. Pauline also sold tickets at the Ruby Theatre in Three Forks.
Pauline married Jay McGuire in 1948, and to this union they were blessed with four children. While living in Three Forks she was an Avon sales representative, was on the City Council, worked for the election board, was a devoted Cub Scout den mother, served as the Democratic precinct chairwoman, and worked for K & L Mortuaries answering the phones and helping with visitations.
She belonged to the Rebecca Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of Three Forks.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Jay McGuire; son and daughter-in-law, Mick and Joy McGuire, and daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Stan Cooper, all of Three Forks; son, Rod McGuire of Denver; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Jean Lau of Three Forks; and a sister, Lucille Tisdal of Rathdrum, Idaho. She is also survived by her granddaughters and husbands, Christina and Jon Kamps, and Kelly and Blaine Koslofsky and their children, Brianna and Tyler Koslofsky of Three Forks; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dan McGuire; two sisters, Ethel Mayo and a baby at birth; two brothers, Leo and Dick Lau.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 11, at Valley View Cemetery in Pony.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Three Forks Ambulance Fund, or to the Shriners Hospital of the donor's choice.
Marjorie Mahoney
Marjorie (Brymer) Mahoney, 81, of Worcester, Mass., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in the Umass Memorial Healthcare Memorial campus Worcester after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 56 years, William J. Mahoney Sr.; three sons, John Mahoney of Worcester, Mass., William Mahoney of South Hadley, Mass., and Denis Mahoney of Shrewsbury, Mass.; four daughters: Margaret Gray of Bozeman, Kathryn Mahoney of Worcester, Mass., Ellen Giannino of Monroe, Conn., and Marianne Mahoney of Shutesbury, Mass.; a sister, Kathryn Rose of Holden, Mass.; 15 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Brymer.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Alfred and Ellen (Sullivan) Brymer. She graduated from Roslindale High School and Burdette Business College, and lived in Worcester, Mass., most of her life.
Mrs. Mahoney worked as a secretary for the city of Worcester School Department for 27 years before she retired in 1986.
She was an enthusiastic gardener and enjoyed travel.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 10, from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, Mass., with a mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 35 Fales St. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery.
