Esta Richardson
Esta P. Richardson, 93, the mother of Betty Bell of Libby, died on Nov. 19, 1998, at St. Joseph’s Assisted Living Center in Polson.
The former Ronan resident enjoyed coming to Libby to visit, especially for special events like Nordicfest. She made many friends here.
Among her many survivors are grandchildren Shirley Lockard, Bonnie Pink and Bob Stonehocker.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held later.
Frank Wickstrom
Frank W. Wickstrom, 87, of Libby, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at the Libby Care Center.
He was born June 27, 1911, at Oglivie, Minn., to Ernest and Martha Wickstrom
A veteran of military service during World War II, Frank served with the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He and his wife owned and operated NAPA auto parts’ stores in Show Low and Benson, Ariz., before moving to Libby in 1985.
Frank was a member of Colville Lodge No. 92, AF&AM, the Tucson Consistry, El Zaribah Shrine Temple in Phoenix, PER and Elks Lodge No. 2090, both in Show Low.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife Alyce Wickstrom, Libby; daughter Karen Smith, Seattle; son Raymond Wickstrom, Colville, Wash.; grandson Robert Wickstrom, Long Beach, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
Private service arrangements are under direction of Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.

Isabel Agather
Libby native Isabel Agather, 85, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at Prestige Assisted Living in Kalispell.
She was born at Libby on Sept. 12, 1913, to William F. and Blanche Brinton Kienitz.
Isabel was preceded in death by her husband Alfons (Allo) Agather in 1978.
Survivors include her sister Jean Neils, Spokane; four sons and their wives, Jan and Marjean, Lewiston, Idaho; Michael and Kathy, Mercer Island, Wash., Mark and Jean and Max and Linda, all of Kalispell; daughters and their spouses, Andrea and Ray Haugen, Tucson, Ariz., and Martha and Jeff Jordan, Mercer Island; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until noon Thursday at the Johnson Mortuary Chapel in Kalispell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Northridge Lutheran Church in Kalispell with Pastor Dan Heskett officiating.

Betty Brown
Betty Ann Brown, 68, died Nov. 12, 1998, at her home in Kalispell.
She was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Kalispell, to John Peter and Lena Catherine Kalwait Hansen.
Raised and educated in Kalispell, Betty graduated from Flathead County High School in 1948.
She married Don Brown on Feb. 14, 1986, in Idaho.
Betty worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 16 years.
She and Don enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and at their lake cabin. Betty also enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, fishing, boating, riding horses and doing needlework. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband Don, Kalispell; step-daughters Penny Scott, Gail Decker and Linda Blankenship; step-son Jim Brown, and adopted son Sam Schneider; brother James Hansen and his wife Jan, Stayton, Ore., a grandchild and special friends Bob and Maxine Domgard.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
Arrangements are by Johnson Mortuary & Crematory, Kalispell.
Lucille Hill
Former Libby resident Lucile Hill, 75, died Nov. 12, 1998, at Corvallis, Ore.
She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on Dec. 4, 1922, and moved to Kalispell in 1945.
She married Raymond Jantz in Kalispell on March 22, 1946, and they moved to Libby in 1947, remaining at Libby until 1970, when they moved to Lebanon, Ore.
Raymond Jantz died on Nov. 21, 1979.
On March 28, 1986, Lucile married Rex Hill. After Rex died on Feb. 11, 1997, Lucile moved to Corvallis.
She was a member of the Lacomb Baptist Church and her hobbies included crafts.
In addition to her husbands, Lucile was preceded in death by daughter RaeJean Marie Erickson on March 28, 1982.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Rich Robinson, Lebanon; granddaughter and her husband, Tamara and Bill Hamilton, Albany, Ore. grandson Ryan Robinson, Lebanon; and great-granddaughter Felicia Ann Robinson, Eugene, Ore.
Lucile is also survived by four step-sisters and a step-brother, all in Iowa.
Services were conducted Monday in Stayton, Ore., under the direction of the Weddle Funeral Home.
Private burial followed at Miller Cemetery.
William Hotzel
Retired railroader William Wesley Hotzel, 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at his home in Libby, following a long illness.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1929, at Three Forks, to George and Lillian Hotzel.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy, 1951-1955, including the Korean Conflict, aboard the USS Lenawee APA 195, earning the Navy Good Conduct Medal, China Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
On Dec. 31, 1955, he married Roberta Thomas. They were divorced in 1976.
Bill worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad at Butte, Helena and Havre, finishing a 42-year career at Havre as maintenance department general foreman. He retired in 1989.
He married Sue Hunter Rawlings Dolman in May 1978.
Following Bill’s retirement, the Hotzels moved to Libby, where new acquaintances soon learned Bill loved to trade and would ask, ‘‘What have you got to trade today.’’ He never met a stranger that he didn’t make a friend.
Bill was preceded in death by a son, Michael L. Hotzel, a sister Betty Doyle, and his first wife, Roberta.
Survivors include his wife Sue Hotzel, Libby; children Cherie and John Four Bears, Wakpala, S.D.; Joseph and Linda Hotzel, Apple Valley, Calif; William and Arsenia Hotzel, Bremerton, Wash.; Patty and Chip Hurin, Power; Everett and Denise Dolman-Glen, Carbon, Ill.; Debi and Gary Sudan and Steve and Rosella Lienhart, Havre, and Roberta and David Potter, Kalispell; sister Jeannette Smith and brother James Hotzel, Three Forks; 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many friends, including his friend Bear.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Hospital Foundation, 350 Louisiana Ave., Libby, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Private arrangements are under the direction of Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
