Patrick John "PJ" Finley

PABLO - Patrick John "PJ" Finley passed away from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

He was born June 16, 1981 in Ronan, Montana to Alex "Rick" Finley and Sarah Gardipe. A member of the Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribes, he raised with his Granny in Pablo. He enjoyed fishin', huntin', cruisin', hikin', swimmin', volleyball and watchin' the UFC. He also enjoyed just hangin' with his family and liked to wrestle with his Bruths. He also enjoyed hangin' out at the dry meat rack with Vinnie.

PJ was preceded in death by his mother Sarah Gardipe Finley, a brother Eli Finley and Ta'a McKee, a cousin DJ Finley, grandmother Rose Gardipe and grandfather Pete Finley.

He leaves behind his son Dominique Finley and Dominique's mother Marsha Northrup. His brothers Alex Finley Jr., Jacob and Steven Finley, his father Alex "Rick" Finley Sr., his Granny Margaret Gardipe, grandpa Scotty Gardipe, gramps Robert Littleboy, his aunts Cheryl, Selena, Geraldine and Terry Gardipe, Trena and Tanya Finley; uncles Charlie, Dan, Mike, and Jon Gardipe, and Arnold Littleboy and Pete Finley and all his little sisters and bruths.

Wake began at the family home on Wednesday, with the rosary being recited at 8pm Thursday in St. Ignatius Community Center, followed by mass at noon Friday in the St. Ignatius Catholic Mission. Interment followed in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetary.

Clair Leroy Dickson

POLSON - Clair Leroy Dickson, age 89, passed away from natural causes on Friday August 26, 2006, less than 2 months from his 90th birthday. Clair was born in Circle, Montana to Roy and Ethel Dickson. The family moved to the Polson area when Clair was nine years old and he resided there until his death. He married Erma Allsop in 1938 and the were together 68 years. After retirement in 1979, Clair and Erma spent their winter months at their second home in Mesa AZ. Clair was a master plumber and he owned the Polson Plumbing and Heating shop until his retirement in 1979. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, bowling and playing cards with family and friends. He was an excellent bowler and golfer. He won many bowling tournaments and once had a hole on the Polson Golf Course. Since retirement, he spent much of his summers fishing for Kokanee, brining, smoking and canning them and giving them to friends and family. Clair was preceded in death by his parents, sister Belva Hirst and brother Gail Dickson. He is survived by his wife Erma, sister Mary (Joe) Havlovick of Polson, MT; daughters Connie Brown of Seattle, WA; and Linda (John) DeYoung of Libby, MT; 5 grandsons, Rick Brown of Seattle, WA; Craig (Sabrina) Brown of North Bend, WA; John (Jodie) DeYoung of Clinton, MT; Robert (Diana) Brown of Snohomish, WA; and Sean DeYoung of Kirkland, WA; 7 great-grandchildren and several neices and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at Grogan Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday September 2, 2006 with burial following at the Lakeview Cemetary. Arrangements were under the direction of Grogan Funeral Home & Crematory.

Donald Bill Buck

RONAN - Donald Bill Buck, 35, of Ronan died in a single automobile wreck early Sunday morning in Ravalli, Montana.

He was born at Fort Belknap, Montana on November 8, 1970 to Carol (Paul) and Leslie W. Buck. Sr.

He grew up and attended schools in Boulder, MT; Spokane, WA; Blackfoot & Pocatello, ID. He moved back with his parents and brothers to the Flathead Indian Reservation in 1983 where he attended school in Ronan and Two Eagle River School where he graduated.

He enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Persian Gulf. After his honorable discharge, he returned home and worked in Butte, Billings and most recently at Flathead Stickers in Pablo.

He is survived by his wife and his parents of Ronan; brothers and families Dee & Les of Spokane, WA, JoAnn & Mike of St. Ignatius, Richard of Ronan and Albert also of Ronan as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Montana, Idaho & Washington.

A wake was held at the Longhouse in St. Ignatius on Monday evening with traditional prayers being recited on Tuesday evening. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning. Longhouse and burial followed in the Paul Cemetary near Post Creek. Military Honors were presented by the Veterans Warrior Society & the Mission Valley Honor Guard. Pallbearers were Steve Rodriguez, Moses Molton, Joe Parizeau, Woody Bigcrane, Antoine Paul and Brian Loberg.

Death Notice
RAVALLI - Rodrigo Salina-Diaz, 19, passed away Sunday morning from injuries sustained in an auto wreck in Ravalli.

Rodrigo was a college student from West Yellowstone who was attending his second year at the U of M.

He services will be handled by Dahl Funeral Home in Bozeman

James R. Sheddy

POLSON - James R. Sheddy, age 71 of Polson, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital. James was born on March 4, 1935 at Llenbark, PA, to Clair and Vera (Willets) Sheddy. After he graduated from high school, James attended numerous Air Force schools pertaining to his vital job serving his country. James spent 21 years with the Air Force. James met and married Ingeborg Cremer in Wiesbaden, Germany. They have been married for 50 years. James also worked for the California Highway Patrol, Oxydental Petroleum Company, and Simplot. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, crafts and RV'ing. James was preceded in death by his father Clair, a sister Marlene, and a brother, Sonny (Clair Jr.). He is survived by his wife Ingeborg Sheddy, his mother Vera Wanda Willets, daughters Jackie of Colorado, Robyn & Joe Barcellos of California, sons Clair of Alaska, James R. Jr. and Kirsten of California, sisters Beverly of Florida, Carol and Joan of Pennsylvania, and 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Monday, August 28, 2006 at the Grogan Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors. The family suggest memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society. Jamie A. Guardipee
ARLEE - Jamie A. Guardipee, 43, passed away from injuries sustained in an auto accident near Polson on Tuesday morning, September 12, 2006.

Born to Dusty and Audrey Guardipee in St. Ignatius, Jamie lived in Idaho, Washington and throughout Montana but his home and heart was always Arlee. Jamie was a concrete finisher by trade but also worked as a Montana Indian Fire Fighter, woodsman and carpenter.

Jamie enjoyed camping, fishing, barbequing & hanging out with his family & friends. He also enjoyed listening to old rock, especially AC/DC. He loved children and was a great grandpa, dad and uncle to almost every child he met.

Always respectful, he stayed in close contact with his ex-wives.

He is survived by his wife Marsha Goben; ex wives MaryAnn Maestas & Tammie Guardipee; children Dustin (Brandie) of Marysville, WA, Brendan (Jamie) of Bozeman, MT, Angela (Yancy) & Gavin of Ronan, MT, Stormie of Big Arm, MT, Savannah, Cody & Gunner of Standing Rock Reservation, SD and daughter in-law Tina Morigeau of St. Ignatius; Siblings Mike (Patsy)Couture of Bellingham, WA, Angel (Jamie) McClure of Arlee and Aaron (Josie) Guardipee also of Arlee; 9 grandchildren and a large extended family of Aunties & Uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grand parents Gene & Jeanette Couture and Parents Dusty & Audrey Guardipee and siblings Martel McClure and Tammie Guardipee and most recently his son Travis who passed away from the same accident.

A wake began Wednesday September 13, at the Arlee Community Center with Rosary being recited Thursday 14, at the Center. Funeral services for both Jamie and his son Travis were held Friday September 15, at the Arlee Community Center with burial following in the Pleasant View Cemetery in St. Ignatius.
