SALLY ANN KOETTING
POLSON -- Sally Ann Koetting, 70, died on Feb. 25, 2004, of natural causes at St. Joseph Hospital here. She was born on June 3, 1933, to William and Margaret Clark in Manistee, MI. She married Erwin Koetting in Butte. Her daughter Janet preceded her in death. Some of Sally's passions in life were extending hospitality, her special "cowboy" quilting, and rooting for the Polson Pirates, Seattle Mariners. She is survived by her husband, Erwin; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ann and Bill Windham, and Tina Sheldon (all of Spokane); two sons, Bill (Auburn, WA) and Dan (Spokane); and three grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be held at a later date in Butte.

KELLAN McDONALD
ST. IGNATIUS -- Kellan Juvian McDonald, the son of Arnie McDonald Jr. and Regina Mad Plume McDonald, was stillborn on Feb. 21, 2004, in Browning.
Graveside services were held on Feb. 24 at the Jocko Cemetery near Arlee.

WAYNE MAUGHAN
FORT BENTON -- Wayne Wright Maughan, 69, a farmer and rancher, died on Feb. 19, 2004, at his home here. Wayne was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Ronan. He graduated from Ronan High School in 1952. In 1955, he married Geraldine Swainston in Canada. He worked as a truck driver, at a sugar beet factory, for Western Farmers and Peavey Co., and as a part-time and full-time farmer. He was a leader in the Boy Scouts of America; PTA president and a member of the Ronan Cemetery Board, Round Butte Water Board, the Montana State Noxious Weed Seed Free Forage Advisory Council, and the Montana Potato Improvement Association. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved people, hunting, fishing, hiking, and working with his family on the family farm. He was preceded in death by a son, Dale; his parents Harry and Ardis Maughan; a brother, Rex; a sister, Rita Porter; and a granddaughter. Survivors include his wife Geraldine (Fort Benton); daughters Pamela Dark (Bountiful, UT), Ramona Smith (Federal Way, WA), Loraine Nygard and Alicia Kelso (both of Wenatchee, WA), Susan Shearer (Tooele, UT), Annette Wendt (Idaho Falls, ID), and Michele Haslam (Billings); sons Steven and Matthew Maughan (both of Fort Benton); sisters Verla Reynolds (Quincy, WA), Myrna Varga (Orem, UT) and Evelyn Cheney (Elko, NV); brothers Eldon and Lamont Maughan (both of Provo, UT), Gerald Maughan (Sandy, UT) and Mark Maughan (Jensen, UT); and 40 grandchildren. A memorial service was held in Fort Benton, with burial at Calvary Cemetery.

URSULA I. MORAN
POLSON -- Ursula I. Moran, 79, of Polson, died on Feb. 27, 2004, at St. Luke Extended Care Facility in Ronan. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Durst; her parents and a brother. She is survived by her husband, Felix (Polson); son Ken Durst (Tulsa, OK); daughter Joan Perkins (Columbia Falls); three grandchildren; three step-children; five step grandchildren; and six great-step-grandchildren. Memorial services were conducted on March 1 in Polson. Inurnment took place at Lakeview Cemetery in Polson.

FRANKIE NICOLAI III
RONAN -- Frankie Sonneah Nicolai III, 11, of Pablo, died near here on Feb. 27, 2004, of alcohol poisoning. He was born on June 3, 1992, in Missoula, to Frank Nicolai Jr. and Arlene Matt. Frankie attended schools in Hot Springs, Polson, and was attending the sixth grade in Ronan. He loved playing baseball, basketball, and wrestling. He also liked the outdoors, fishing, swimming, golfing, and Nintendo games. He is survived by his father; his mother, Arlene Matt Powell and step-father Frank Powell (Pablo); his brothers Anthony and Adrian Stasso (Ronan), Randall "R.J." Lumpry (Pablo), Mathew Nicolai (Elmo) and Bodrea Nicolai (Ronan); his grandmother Ester Gingras and step-grandfather Basil Lefthand Jr. (Niarada); several aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Regina Couture Matt; and an infant brother. Wake services were conducted in Elmo. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on March 4, also in the Elmo Hall. Burial took place at the Camas Prairie Cemetery.

CLINTON ROBISON
POLSON -- Clinton Ray Robison died as the result of an auto crash here on Feb. 28, 2004. He was born in Sheridan, MT, on July 22, 1981, to Vern Robison of Ennis and Yvonne Conko of St. Ignatius. He spent his first years at the family ranch in McAllister until 1987, when he moved to St. Ignatius with his mom and sisters. Some of his favorite things were fishing, hiking and swimming with friends and family. He loved spending time playing video games and watching movies. Clint was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jeanette Conko. He is survived by his mother, Yvonne Conko; his father, Vern Robison; sisters Shanna Robison (Missoula), Teri Robison (Polson), Christina and Monica Williams (St. Ignatius) and Marisa Torosian; brothers Austin McDonald and Carlos Williams (both of St. Ignatius); grandparents Max and Kate Robison (McAllister, MT); grandmother Jackie Castillo (Cusick); a niece and nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Traditional wake services were held at the Longhouse in St. Ignatius. Mass was celebrated on March 4 at the St. Ignatius Catholic Mission and was followed by burial in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.

ANDREW ROSENBAUM
CHARLO -- Andrew Elwood "Pete" Rosenbaum died of natural causes on Feb. 25, 2004, at St. Luke Hospital in Ronan. He was born July 8, 1915, in Madison, NE, to Andrew and Ollie Rosenbaum, the youngest of eight children. In 1926, at the age of 11, he and his family moved by horse and wagon from Spokane to Arlee. A short time after his father's death in 1944, Pete, his mother and sisters moved back to Spokane. There he worked in his brother's apple orchard and a factory. After retirement, Pete returned to Charlo, where he met Lydia Ochsner. whom he married on Oct. 29, 1982. Lydia died on Oct. 10, 2003. Also preceding him in death were his mother, three brothers and four sisters. Pete loved children and animals. Although he had no children of his own, he helped care for some of his nieces and nephews. He loved working on his equipment, whether it was a car, a tractor or his bikes. He was also a self-taught accordion player. Survivors include many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Services were held at the Leon Clubhouse in Charlo on March 1. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Ronan.

WILLIAM ROULLIER
HELENA -- William O. "Bill" Roullier, 72, died at St. Peter's Hospital here on Feb. 20, 2004, of cardiopulmonary disease. He was born on May 29, 1931, in Frenchtown to William R. and Marie (Bouffard) Roullier. He worked 40 years for U.S. West until his retirement in 1990. In 1953, he married JoAnn Hope Trent. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 24, 2004. Bill loved hunting trips with relatives, hiking, camping, golfing, water skiing and snowmobiling. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; two children and their spouses, Jill and Mike Lotter, and William T. "Rusty" and Penny Roullier; five grandchildren; sister Annette Lowman (Calif.); brothers Richard (Middy) Roullier and Robert (Tracy) Roullier and brother Gene Roullier (Elmo); and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on Feb. 24 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
