RENE C. MORIGEAU
POLSON -- Rene Christine Morigeau, 40, died on March 6, 2003, of natural causes. Rene was born in Polson, on Dec. 21, 1962, to Walter "Douglas" and Shirley Morigeau. She lived her childhood life in Polson and attended the Polson schools. She enjoyed riding horses, drawing, painting, writing poetry, knitting and just being herself with her generous smiles and hugs for all. She was extremely social in all walks of life. Rene became very ill in her teen-age years and was unfortunately battling her illness throughout her adult life. She was especially cared for by the mental-illness communities of the Missoula and the Stevensville area. Rene became a resident of Stevensville in 1989 where she had resided at the Genesis House since November 2002. She became best of friends with all the social workers and other residents of Genesis House and Riverhouse. Rene was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Kurt, along with her maternal grandparents, Hugh and Lucinda Shepard, and her paternal grandparents, E.W. "Bill" and Sylvia Morigeau. She is survived by her parents of Polson; a brother, Ken (Kuwait City); a sister, Denise (Ronan); a niece, Marcy Morigeau; two nephews, Ryland and Tim Morigeau; and a great-nephew, Johnathan Michael Davis (all of Milpitas, CA) 45 first cousins and their spouses; and numerous aunts and uncles. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on March 7 in Polson. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Genesis House in Stevensville.

ROBERT R. OSTRO
BIG ARM -- Robert Rudolf Ostro, 78, died at his home here on March 3, 2003. He was born on Oct. 18, 1924, to Andrew and Caroline (Balun) Ostrochovsky in East Patterson, N.J., where he grew up and attended schools. Robert joined the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a forest ranger in Washington and owned an apple orchard in Washington. He retired to Montana in 1973. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Milan Richard Ostrow. He is survived by one brother, Andrew Ostrochovsky (Vernon, N.J.), and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. No services are planned.

JASON C. PICKERING, JR.
ST. IGNATIUS -- Jason Charles Pickering, Jr., infant son of Jason James Pickering, Sr. and Melody Plante, died on March 15, 2003, from natural causes. Born in Ronan on Jan. 13, 2003, he joined his family at home in St. Ignatius. He was preceded in death by an uncle, Jonathon Pickering. Survivors include his parents; siblings Skyler Rossbach (Arlee) and Donilyn and Carlee Rossbach (of the family home); paternal grandparents Nancy Estevez and step grandfather Angel Gallegos (Butte), and Jim Pickering (WA); maternal grandparents Francis and Vivian Plante (Arlee) and Virgelene and Joe Raya (Great Falls); great-grandmother Darlene Matt (St. Ignatius); and several uncles and aunts. A traditional wake was held at the Longhouse in St. Ignatius. Mass was celebrated on March 19 at the St. Ignatius Catholic Mission. Interment followed in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.

CONSTANCE M. RENSMON
RONAN -- Constance "Connie" Marie Rensmon, 47, died March 19, 2003, at St. Luke's Community Hospital here. She was born May 26, 1955, in Lethbridge, Alberta, to Joseph and Betty Kultdgen. Connie lived most of her life in Cutbank, moving to the Flathead Valley in 1998. Survivors include her two sons, Phillip Zahn and Cory Rensmon (both of Kalispell); her father; and two sisters, Linda Losing (Calgary, Alberta) and Judy Calvi (Mississippi). Memorial services were conducted on March 22.

SR. CECILIA SEYMOUR
POLSON -- Sister Cecilia Seymour, an Ursuline nun, 98, died on March 15, 2003, at the Ursuline Convent Retirement Home in Santa Rosa, CA. Sister Cecilia, known to her many students as Mother Cecilia, taught for nearly 30 years at the St. Ignatius Mission School. During that time she touched many lives and brought unconditional love, hope and faith to her students and their families. Mass will be celebrated at the St. Ignatius Mission Church on April 6. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Ignatius Mission, Box 667, St. Ignatius, MT 59865.

BERNICE M. SUTTON
LONEPINE -- Bernice Mae Sutton, 86, died on her birthday, March 21, 2003, at the Terry Convalescent Center in Terry. She was born March 21, 1917, in Roundup to Don and Anne Perrin. As a young woman, she moved to Missoula and then to Lonepine, where she met and married Gerald "Smokey" Sutton in May 1940. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years; sisters Dorothy Benzine (Columbia Falls) and Anne Franklin (Hot Springs); and brother Donald Perrin (Hot Springs). She is survived by her eldest sister, Dorene Benson (Payette, ID); daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Pisk (Terry); son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Susan Sutton (Lonepine); and son Robert Sutton (Lonepine); eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Donations in her name may be made to the Lonepine Fire Hall.

WALLACE BEAUDRY
LIBBY -- Wallace Joseph Beaudry died at St. John's Hospital here on April 25, 2003, after a brief illness. He was born in Bainville on Aug. 27, 1912, to William and Melvina Beaudry. He graduated from high school in Bainville in 1933. He worked on Fort Peck Dam, clerked at the Wolf Point Hotel, drove a candy truck and then was accepted to and graduated from the first Montana Highway Patrol school, all before marrying his high school sweetheart, Ruth J. Swant, in Bainville on Feb. 15, 1942. They moved to Polson for his first assignment. He later served as the chief of police in Polson and then served two terms as the Lake County Sheriff. He went to work for the Montana Department of Fish and Game in 1957 and lived and worked at fish hatcheries in Anaconda and Arlee. He retired to Ronan in 1976. After his first wife died, he married Ruth Simonson Wirz, on Nov. 10, 1983. He moved to St. John's Assisted Living in Libby after her death. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rolland, Arden and Clayton; sisters, Leone and Eva; and his two beloved Ruths. He is survived by his daughter, Wendy and her husband William Dodson (Troy); his sister, Alice Beaudry (Sao Paulo, Brazil); stepdaughters, Mary Dyer (Salt Lake City), Dorothy "Dode" Hall (Canby, OR), Eula Rider (Missoula), Becky Olsen (Kalispell); stepson, George "Phil" Wirz (Charlo); numerous step grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the Ronan Senior Citizens Center, the Ronan Methodist Church or the charity of the donor's choice. A memorial service was held on April 27 in Ronan.

JEAN BURT
RICHLAND, Wash. -- Jean Kelly Burt, 46, died on April 3, 2003, of cancer. Jean was born Aug. 4, 1956, in Detroit. She grew up in Missoula and graduated from Arlee High School in 1974. She met and married Larry Burt in 1979 in Missoula. She is survived by her husband; five children: Amber Burt and Bernie Burt, Rachael Ubay, Jeannette Oliva, and Kathleen Burt; nine grandchildren; a sister, Kathy Kelly; stepsister Kerin Young; and a stepbrother, Zane Kelly. She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Kelly; her mother, Pearl; and stepbrother Bill Kelly. Services were conducted on April 5 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Polson, with graveside services following at Lake View Cemetery in Polson.

GEORGE COTE
PORTLAND, Ore. -- George Roger Cote, the son of Joe and Marie Cote, died at his home here on April 30, 2003. Roger, as he was known by his family, was born on Dec. 2, 1933. He attended the Ursuline School in St. Ignatius. He enlisted in the Marines and saw action in the Korean War. He married Janice Jones in 1957 in Missoula. They moved to Portland in 1961 and he was employed as a sheetmetal worker by the Ray Becker Co. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beulah Brubaker (Arlee). He is survived by his wife; three sons, Rick and Robert (Portland) and Roger (ID); a daughter, Theresa (AZ); two brothers, Joseph (Portland) and John (FL); two sisters, Josephine Smith (Missoula) and Ann Edwards (Marion, MT); ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated on May 3. A full military service was conducted on May 11 at the Willamette Veterans National Ceremony in Portland, OR, where inurnment took place.

ROGER GWALTNEY
HOT SPRINGS -- Roger Barron Gwaltney, 71, died on April 16, 2003, at his home here following a long battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Gwaltney; one son and daughter-in-law, Roque and Becky Gwaltney and their three children (all of Jacksonville, IL); one stepson, Jim Norvell (Somers); two stepdaughters, Sheila Wininger (Somers) and Misty Lane (Nampa, ID); one brother, Porter Gwaltney (Springfield, IL); and one sister, Jan Piersol (Florrisant, MO).
A gathering to remember Roger was held on April 23 in Hot Springs.
Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Hot Springs Masonic Lodge or the Clark Fork Shrine Club.
