Raymond Douvier
Raymond Douvier, 88, of Sidney, formerly of Poplar, died at the Sidney Health Center-Extended Care Facility, Friday, morning, July 12, 2002.
Funeral services were Monday, July 15, 2002, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church.
Calvin Clark Sr.
Calvin V. Clark, Sr., 77, died July 14, 2002, at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Kermit, Rusty and Roland.
He is survived by wife, Tootie Clark of Wolf Point; four sons, Mitchell Clark and Calvin Clark, Jr., both of Wolf Point, Gerald Jackson of Poplar, Ronald Jackson of Wolf Point; four daughters, Judy Rodriguez of Gary, Ind., Colleen Clark of Wolf Point, Linda Clark of Wolf Point, Ethel "Pie" Jackson of Wolf Point; two sisters, Bernadine Wallace of Frazer and Rita Track of Wolf Point; two brothers, Walter Clark and Donald Clark both of Frazer; 34 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Services were Thursday, July 18, at the Oswego Hall.
Joseph Robinson
Joseph "Little Joe" Robinson, 65, was born in Wolf Point on Sept. 6, 1936, to Joseph and Emma Pipe Robinson, Sr.
He was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Jane Robinson, of Cando, Sask., Canada.
Funeral services were held July 20, at Clayton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Enright Bighorn officiating.
Burial was in the Oswego Presbyterian Cemetery. Clayton Memorial was in charge of arrangements.
Eunice Miriam Yoder
Eunice Miriam Yoder, 81, died on July 15, 2002, in Gridley, Calif.
She was born June 18, 1921 in Froid. She grew up in Montana, later moving to southern Calif.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Harvey Yoder; her brother, Eugene Swank; and her sister Evelyn Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at the Live Oak Church of the Brethren at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 28.
Robin Wayne Walking Eagle
Robin Wayne Walking Eagle, 39, died in Ronan on July 16, 2002. hew was born Sept. 29, 1962, in Poplar.
Preceding her in death by his parents; two sisters, Sharon and Penny; and a brother, Michael.
He is survived by his wife, Lori and two daughters, Natasha and Jesse, all of Ronan.
He is also survived by five brothers; Clarence, Myron and Kermit, all of Brockton, Allie Walking Eagle of Springville, Utah; Melvin (Rusty) Walking Eagle of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Toni and Doris, both of Brockton.
Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar on July 20, with burial at the Riverside Cemetery following.
Gene Martin
Gene Martin died on July 22, 2002, at his home in Wolf Point.
Funeral services are being planned for later this week.
Terrance A. McGowan
Terrance McGowan, 54, died on July 21, 2002, at the Northeast Montana Health Services in Poplar.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 26, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar with Rev. Fr. Tom Vigliotta officiating.
Joan Sedgwick
Joan Sedgwick, 66, died at her home in Pasco, Wash., on July 22, 2002, after a battle against multiple myeloma.
Born on Nov. 28, 1935 in Wolf Point to Oscar and Myrtle Opgrande.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie, on June 15, 1986.
She is survived by her five children: Bret Sedgwick of Kennewick, Wash., Tim Sedgwick of Pasco, Wash.; Jeff Sedgwick of Walla Walla, Wash.; son John Sedgwick of Kirkland, Wash.; and Jennifer Patterson of Pasco, Wash.
She is also survived by four grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Valerie Standlund of Homestead.
Eugene Martin
Eugen Joseph Martin, 74, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at the family home east of Wolf Point.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta; his children; a brother, Bill Martin of Orange County, Calif.; nine children and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation were held on Friday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Clayton Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point.
Viola Spotted Bird "Morning Star Woman"
Viola Marie Spotted Bird, 74, of Brockton, died Friday, July 26, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center in Williston, N.D. She was born on Dec. 17, 1927, in Fort Kipp. Her survivors include seven sons; Adrian Spotted Bird Sr. of Brockton, Llewellyn Spotted Bird, Joel Grey Bull, John Spotted Bird, Perry Grey Bull, all of Poplar and Richard Grey Bull of Enterprise, Ala.; three daughters, Charlene and Lorna Drum, both of Brockton and Verdis Grey Bull of Poplar; three sisters, Josephine Black Dog and Carole Spotted Bird of Brockton and Verdis Grey bull of Poplar; one brother, Leland Spotted Bird of Brockton; 34 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; traditionally adopted brothers, Sean Brown Sr. of British Columbia, Tom Escarcega Sr., Dawson Firemoon and Gabriel young, all of Poplar and Moses Dionne Sr. of Wolf point; adopted children, Billy Runs Above, Jim Dillon, Kenny Merrick Sr., Gabe Dumont, LeRoy (Turbo) Boyd Sr., Bernard Youpee, Harold Dupree Sr. Sterling Ramsey, Sandra yellow Hammer and Anita Dumont. Wake services were held on July 31, 2002 at the Brockton Cultrual Center.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 1, at 2 p.m. at the Brockton Cultural Center.
Gene Bushman
Gene Bushman, 64, of Nashua, died on July 22, 2002.
He was born on Dec. 9, 1937, to Francis J. Bushman and Rose Lambert Bushman.
He is survived by daughters, Deborah Jean Bushman of San Antonia, Texas, Diane bushman of Nebraska, Brigit Bushman of Shelby and Dione Bushman of Billings; sons, Ronnie Bushman of Poplar, Greg Bushman of Poplar and Duane Bushman of Great Falls; father, Francis J. Bushman of Billings; sister, Denise Willit of Billings; one brother Donald Bushman of Calif.; and several grandchildren.
Service was held on Saturday, July 27, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Bell Chapel in Glasgow.
Richard D. Anderson
Richard D. Anderson, 74, lifelong resident of Wolf Point, died on July 26, 2002, at Deaconess Hospital in Billings.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1927. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Wesley Duane; one brother; and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Esther; four children, Kathy (Anderson) Borgen of Wolf Point, Carol (Anderson) Fender and Wayde Anderson of Billings; one brother, Joe Anderson of Missoulas; 12 Grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
