Walter T. Cameron
Walter Thomas Cameron died peacefully in the Beartooth Hospital and Health Center in Red Lodge, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 25, 2006.
Walter was born in Duluth, Minn., on Nov. 7, 1925 to Walter and Ellen Cameron. He was the oldest of three children.
He served in the US Army from February, 1944 until May, 1946 at the rank of Private First Class and as a bugler. He served in Germany, France, and Austria during that time. Walt graduated from Duluth Junior College and accompanied the football team to the Junior Rose Bowl in California in 1948.
On April 29, 1950 he married Eunice (Tizy) Malley at St. James Church in Duluth, Minn. Walter was the Safety Director at the Conoco Oil Refinery in Wrenshall, Minn., until 1982 when he was transferred to the Billings refinery. He retired in 1988 and enjoyed traveling with his wife in their R V. He enjoyed the get-togethers with the Conoco retirees group and socializing with his old friends from his 35 years at Conoco. Walter was a golfer, a jogger, and a coin collector for many years. Some of his many volunteer activities included Habitat for Humanity, working at St. Bernard’s in Billings, and general goodwill activities.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eunice (Tizy); his infant son, William; his granddaughter, Cari Cameron; his parents, Walter and Ellen; and his sister, Colleen (Mike) Ronding.
Walter is survived by his children, Patricia Cameron of Minneapolis, Michael (Cheryl) Cameron of Fargo, N.D,. Thomas (Sara) Cameron of Billings, Mary Clare Cameron of Red Lodge, Paul (Dianne) Cameron of Rochester, Minn., John Cameron of Great Falls, Diane (Les) Dimich of Red Lodge, Joseph (Jane) Cameron of Eugene, Ore., and Elizabeth Cameron (Gary Long), of Billings; 20 smart, beautiful and loved grandchildren and three very beautiful great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Gerald (Zinnia) Cameron of Del Mar, Calif., along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved and respected him; and many good friends. Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Red Lodge. Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel assisted with cremation arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the Beartooth Hospital and Health Center, or Beartooth Hospice, both at P.O. Box 590, Red Lodge, MT 59068; or to Carbon County Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 1623, Red Lodge, MT 59068.
We want to thank the staff at Beartooth Hospital for the wonderful care that they gave our father over the past few years.

John Krop
John Krop, 93, of Powell, Wyo., formerly of Red Lodge, died Thursday, April 27 at Powell Valley Care Center.
No services are planned. Interment will be in the Red Lodge Cemetery.
Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel of Red Lodge was in charge of cremation arrangements.

Eva Heraut Flaskerud Wollan
Eva Herauf Flaskerud Wollan passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2006 in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was born April 30, 1918 to Mr. and Mrs. Anton and Florentine (Kilwein) Herauf in Dickinson, N.D.
She was raised and educated in South Heart, N. D., and received her teaching degree from Dickinson State Teacher's College. After several years of teaching in rural Montana schools in Carbon and Yellowstone Counties, she earned her BA in education from Eastern Montana College in Billings.
Eva married George Flaskerud in Portland, Ore., in June of 1943. They lived in Red Lodge, and opened Flaskerud Hardware.
Mr. Flaskerud passed away in June of 1962 after serving several terms as Carbon County treasurer and clerk and recorder.
Eva then married Leonard Wollan, the superintendent of schools of Laurel in 1964. They retired in 1973 and spent many happy years traveling to Europe, and wintering in Arizona. Mr. Wollan passed away in October of 1996.
Eva was active in the Messiah Lutheran Church in Red Lodge and Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Laurel. She was also a member of the Laurel Ladies' Golf Club and the Red Lodge Chapter of PEO. She enjoyed golf, crafts and church music.
She is survived by one daughter, Jane Worrall of Colorado Springs; two grandsons, Tom and Sean Worrall of Denver; two step-sons, Gary and Dean Wollan; one step-daughter Kay Shevling; eight step-grandchildren; sixteen step-great grandchildren; two step-great - great grandchildren, three sisters and one brother.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the family plot in Red Lodge. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Laurel. Cremation is planned.
Memorials may be made in Eva's memory to the Church.

Minnie E. Wessel
Minnie E. Wessel, 94, of Belfry, died Wednesday morning, April 26, 2006 at Beartooth Hospital and Health Center, Red Lodge.
She was born on March 18, 1912 in Richardton, N. D., a daughter of Joseph and Katherine Kuhn.
On Jan. 9, 1940 she married John Wessel in Cody, Wyo. They settled in Belfry in 1948, where Minnie resided until her death. She was active in the Belfry Senior Citizens. Mr. Wessel died on May 23, 2000.
Minnie is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Derrek) Flick of Seattle Wash., grandson Kevin (Brenda) Flick, and granddaughters Renee (Scott) Lundberg and Denise Flick, all of Seattle; one sister, Bertha Frank of Billings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, May 1 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bridger. A vigil and rosary was held Sunday, April 30 at the church.
Interment was in the Belfry Cemetery followed by a reception at the Belfry Senior Citizen’s Center.
Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel of Red Lodge was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the Belfry Senior Citizen’s Center.

FLORENCE “FLOSSY” BROWN
Florence “Flossy” V. Brown, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice in Kennewick, Wash., with family and friends at her bedside.
Florence was born on October 24, 1917, in Red Lodge, Mont., to George and Agnes Maddox. Florence found the love of her life, Abby Brown and they were married on March 25, 1948 in Red Lodge.
Fossy grew up on Dry Creek and went to the country school and Bridger High school. She loved living on the farm in Dry Creek, and had many fond memories of Montana. Flossy had many fun times with her bother, sisters and friends dancing in Red Lodge and getting the Tin Lizzie out of snow banks.
In 1953, Florence and Abby moved to the Tri-Cities, Block 15 in Franklin County, where they farmed in the area until their retirement in 1982.
Throughout Flossy’s life, she had many hobbies; some of her favorites included traveling, gardening and visiting with family and friends, and she greatly enjoyed spoiling the grandchildren.
Flossy will be greatly missed by those who survive her, including her daughter, Sheri and her husband, Ron Ledgerwood; daughter Sarah and husband, Rich Bechtel; and son, Alvin and wife Kathy Brown.
She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sisters Laura Pugmire and Mildred Stewart, and sister-in-law Dorothy Maddox. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Abby Brown, her brother, Grant Maddox, and sister, Edith Capellen.

JOSEPH J. REICHER
BRIDGER — Joseph J. Reicher, 73, of Bridger, died of natural causes at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005.
Graveside memorial services were held Saturday, Jan. 29, in the Bridger Cemetery.
Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Florence (Flodie) Wilson
Florence Wilson, 82, of Whitefish, formerly of Ruidoso, N.M. and Austin, Texas, passed away after a long illness on Sunday morning, Sept. 22, 2002 at Colonial Manor in Whitefish.
She left this world surrounded by loving family, including her devoted caregiver and husband of 60 years, Archer Wilson. Florence, affectionately known to friends and family as Flodie, was born on June 25, 1920, to James and Janet Davis in Washington, D.C. Her father's career took the family around the country before moving to Austin, where she graduated from the University of Texas. There Flodie met Archer, a fourth generation Texan, and they married on May 15, 1942. Flodie worked as a research scientist for 20 years in the University of Texas' ground-breaking genetics program. She graced her department with intelligence, wit and a generous spirit while introducing dozens of future researchers to the emerging field of genetics. Flodie retired from the university in 1972 and moved to Ruidoso, N.M., where she and Archer owned and operated the Roadrunner Gift Shop for many years. They returned to Austin in 1994 to be near their Texas family. When health issues eventually forced Flodie and Archer to seek long term medical care, they moved to Whitefish in 2000, to be near their Montana family and the mountains she loved so much. Flodie touched many lives everywhere she lived and will be remembered with great affection. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister, Dr. Francis Davis of Amarillo, Texas, and a son, George Wilson of Austin, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Archer Wilson of Whitefish; son John and wife Marjorie Wilson of Whitefish; son David and wife Betsy Wilson of Beaverton, Ore.; son Jim and wife Amy Wilson of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law Margaret Wilson of Pflugerville, Texas; daughter Peggy Wilson of Lakewood, Colo.; nine grandchildren, one great grandson and a large extended family with many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held today, Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at 5 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Whitefish. A second memorial service will be scheduled at a later date in Austin, Texas, where Flodie's ashes will be laid to rest. The family asks that donations be made to the Montana Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in Billings in lieu of flowers.

Greg M. Sloan
Greg M. Sloan, 46, passed away at his home on Sept. 19, 2002.
Greg was born Oct. 28, 1956, in Whitefish, where he lived his entire life. Greg loved his family, the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He will be missed so much.
A private memorial was held at his mother's home on Monday, Sept. 23, 2002.
The Austin Funeral Home of Whitefish was in charge of arrangements.
Greg is survived by his mother, Dolores Sloan, his wife of 25 years, Deanne, three sons: Jason, Cody and Tyler, a granddaughter, Macayla, and three sisters, Sharon, Ginny and Paula.
He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Sloan.
