Missoula - Rose L. Jostes Morrell, 62, of Clinton passed away Saturday January 2, 2016 at St. Patrick Hospital.
She was born January 9, 1953 in Denver, CO to Joe and Georgia Jostes.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Jessica Weimer and her parents Joe and Georgia Jostes.
Survivors include her husband Jeff Morrell, her daughter Rainey Moy, her grandchildren Joey Bill, Tommy Jo, Bobbie and Kaddie Weimer, and her brothers and sisters of Denver, CO.
Funeral services will be held Thursday January 7, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., at Saint Ann's Catholic Church, MT Highway 200 E, Bonner MT 59823.
The reception will follow the service at Saint Ann's Church.
Flowers may be sent to Saint Ann's Church prior to the service.
The family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.

Florence - Margaret H. Pickens, 96, of Florence, died surrounded by family on Thursday, November 5, 2015 after a brief illness.
She was born November 9, 1918 in Globe, Arizona, the daughter of Thomas R. and Margaret G. (Driscoll) Howard.
Margaret was raised in Globe.
At a young age, and within a four-year span, she lost her mother, one brother, and father.
When she was 16, she resided for a short time with relatives in Michigan, and then moved to Missoula to live with her aunt and uncle.
She graduated from Missoula County High School in 1936.
She attended Modern Business College in Missoula and provided bookkeeping and administrative tasks at Zip Auto and Dairy Fresh Creamery.
On June 22, 1940, she married
her high school sweet heart, Richard H. Schipporeit.
They shared a love of music and dancing.
Richard Schipporeit died tragically in 1941.
Their son, Richard H. Schipporeit, was born September 8, 1941.
Margaret met her future husband, Jesse B. Pickens, in 1944 and they were married
on Saint Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1946 at St. Anthony’s Church in Missoula.
They lived in Missoula initially and moved to Florence in 1955.
In addition to son Richard, their family grew to include daughter, Pat, and two sons, Gary and Jim.
Margaret and Jess loved to travel and made many trips across the country.
They especially enjoyed attending reunions organized by the veterans of Jess’ Army Air Corps unit.
Margaret loved sports of all kinds and as a young woman, she played tennis, softball, basketball and ran track.
She was a member of Glee Club, Girls Club and a member of the Girls Athletic Association.
Margaret also loved football and was a devoted Grizzly and Notre Dame fan.
She was a skilled bridge and pinochle player and was a member of bridge and pinochle clubs where she played each for over 70 years.
Margaret served as an election official for several years and volunteered her time supporting cancer organizations.
Her happiest moments were those spent with family.
She was most proud of the title “Grandma”.
She loved attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren as well as a competitive game of pinochle with family.
Through her entire life, Margaret was a devout Catholic, sustained by her faith through life’s tragedies.
As a child, she attended mass every day.
She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church in Florence for 60 years.
When asked, she would say the best gift she ever gave her children was her Catholic faith.
Always optimistic, she had a positive influence on everyone who knew her.
The family will cherish forever the love, joy and laughter she brought to their lives and the lives of others she met during her 96 year journey – a life well-lived. Survivors include her children, Patricia Hirsch (Howard), Gary Pickens (Mary), and James Pickens (Margie); daughter-in-law, Fay Schipporeit; grandchildren Shane, Dawne, Shannon, Scott, Jon, Christopher, Kevin, Jesse and Chad; 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jesse Pickens; her son Richard Schipporeit; husband Richard Schipporeit; and brothers Robert and James. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Sunday, November 15, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Stevensville.
A vigil service will follow at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stevensville, with Father Matthew Huber officiating. A luncheon reception will be held 12:30–2:30 at St. Mary’s Parish Center.
A private interment with the family will follow the reception at Florence Carlton cemetery.
Margaret’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at Valley View Estates Health Care Center and the caregivers at Marcus Daily Memorial Hospital.

Missoula - Beverly Joanne Salyer, 89, of Missoula passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Village Senior Residence.
She was born June 16, 1926 in Missoula to Eunice W. and Zora (Burks) Salyer.
She had a long career with Mountain Bell Telephone Company.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eunice W. Salyer, her mother Zora (Al) Jordan, 3 brothers, Robert (Sally) Salyer, George Juhnke and Walter Junhke.
She is survived by a 2 sisters-in-law, Carol Juhnke and Betty Juhnke; niece, Judy (Bud) Stevers; nephews, Erik (Wendy) Juhnke, Kurt (Amy) Juhnke and Philip (Jean) Juhnke.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 184 Pine Hollow Road in Stevensville.
Malcolm David Woodard

Victor - Malcolm David Woodard was “absent from the body and present with the Lord” (II Corinthians 5:8) on October 22, 2015.
Malcolm, was born 15 July 1927 to Paul and Daphne Woodard at Seattle, Washington.
Malcolm graduated from O’dea High School in Seattle.
He served in the U.S. Army medical battalion of the second infantry division.
Malcolm graduated with the Master’s Degree in mathematics from the University of Washington in 1950.
In 1950, he married
Jean Marilyn Davis in Seattle, who has always been his loving wife until his death.
Malcolm was ordained as a Baptist pastor in 1954.
His wife has been his companion and helper in several pastorates starting with The Hague Baptist Church in Florida and continuing with pastorates, interim pastorates, and just filling pulpits until and after they arrived in Montana.
The couple finished their team work in the Lord in Montana by serving for over thirteen years with a weekly service at Cathy’s Place and the Clark Fork Manor until health prohibited.
Malcolm had the privilege of teaching at the University of Washington, Tennessee Temple University, University of Montana, Cedarville College, Brian College, and Ohio State University.
He did research work at the University of Washington, University of Tennessee, Ohio State, Eglin Air Force Base, Arnold Engineering Development Center at Tullahoma, and Combustion Engineering in Tennessee.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a daughter-in-law, Mary, and his sister Gladys Woodard.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; his children; Mark Woodard (Cindy), Carolyn Lee (David), Grant Woodard (Mary – deceased), and Shannon Cross (Jim), brothers; John and Jeremy Woodard, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
“I have had a full life, obtaining the gold of God’s redemption (John 3:16), without which life is of no value.
I and my wife would like to encourage you, Therefore my beloved brethren be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forsomuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (I Corinthians 15:58).
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 9:30 AM at the Victor cemetery followed by a memorial service which will be held at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Corvallis at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow.
Rita M. Fleming

STEVENSVILLE – Rita M. Fleming, 87, of Stevensville, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015 at home surrounded by family.
She was born to John and Anna McGee on Aug. 28, 1928 in Elma, Iowa.
She married
Robert Fleming in 1957 and resided in Springfield, Oregon until December of 2006.
At that time, she moved to Stevensville to live with her daughter’s family.
In Stevensville, Rita attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She enjoyed getting her hair done ever Friday, watching Notre Dame football, and playing cards and dice games with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents, and all eight of her siblings.
She is survived by her sons Bruce and John (Judy) of Springfield, Oregon; and daughter, Monica Keeney (Jim), of Stevensville; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send out a special thank you to all of the doctors that cared for our mother during this time.
Trever William Mertins-Lewing

STEVENSVILLE - Trever William Mertins-Lewing, 35, of Stevensville crossed over Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
Trever was born April 14, 1980 in Missoula, Mt.
He was the son of Mark and Pamela Lewing of Stevensville where he was raised and attended elementary schools in Stevensville, Lone Rock and Florence.
He had one year of college credits from U of I in Moscow, Id and UM in Missoula.
Trever was actively employed in the construction industry most of his life.
He was a good carpenter living in Polson and Missoula most of the time.
Jobs that he held included dock builder off the barge in Flathead Lake, home construction from Missoula to Whitefish, home health care, geophysical survey crew in Idaho, Nevada and Montana, detention officer, landscaper, golf course maintenance in Polson and fencer.
He singlehandedly rebuilt his church in Polson and constructed numerous decks and other carpentry projects as an independent contractor.
One of Trever’s greatest strengths was his devotion to family especially as a father to his two sons, Joshua and Trystan.
Even when times were tough, he never failed to care for and provide for his sons.
His focus was constantly on them to the exclusion of any other thing in his life with the exception of his unbounded love of and faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He knew the bible well and reveled in challenging others to argue for Him.
He was a youth pastor briefly at CLC in Kalispell and, as a self-taught guitar and piano player, was worship leader at churches in Polson and Missoula.
He played James in the CLC Passion Play in Missoula and went on a carpentry mission to the Solomon Islands.
Friends were constantly seeking his counseling and comfort even as he struggled for his own.
Trever is survived by his parents, Mark and Pamela Lewing; his sons, Joshua and Trystan Mertins, Kalispell; brothers Chad Mertins (Mindy) of Prescott, AZ, Corey Mertins, Stevensville, John Lewing, (Racheal) Missoula, Nicholas Sullivan, Spokane, WA; sisters Alyssa Mathis (Dan), Larimore, ND and Lindsey Parker (Matt), Germany; twenty nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at the Lone Rock Bible Church located just past pavement end three miles up Three Mile Road north of Stevensville on Thursday, November 12, 2015 1:00 P.M. Pastor Dave Phillips will officiate.
Urn interment at Sunnyside cemetery will follow the service with a reception to follow that back at the church.
The family has made available a Memorial Trust Fund at Farmer’s State Bank in Stevensville for the benefit of Trever’s sons, Joshua and Trystan.
Julia Nelson

Stevensville - Julia Nelson age 84, of Stevensville went to be with Jesus Wednesday afternoon, October 14th, 2015.
Julie was born in 1931 to her father and mother, August and Anna Schaefbauer.
She received a degree from Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, SD and taught Kindergarten and 1st grades.
She met the man of her dreams at a dance club in Deer Lodge, MT, Gary Nelson.
He was a local Forest Service employee and in December 1957 they were married
.
At the age of 34 she became a mother with her first son Gary J and 17 months later her second son Terry.
After traveling the country with job advancements, they finally settled in Stevensville in 1978 where they have lived and served in the community.
Julie and Gary were also very involved in each community they lived in.
They attended church, taught Sunday school, participated in small bible studies, and did volunteer work with the local schools, charities & civic organizations.
Julie devoted her life to her family and community and did everything while serving the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Anna, her husband, Gary, her brother, Timmy, and her son Gary J.
She is survived by her siblings, Danny, Bill, John (Leona), Tom (Rosemary), Nora (Tom), Bernie, Leo (Linda) and son, Terry (Darlene) of Hamilton, her four grandchildren, Seth, Mark, Jessica and Devin, other extended family and many others she touched throughout her life.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, October 26th, 2015 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stevensville.
A reception will follow at the St. Mary Center followed by a graveside service at Riverside cemetery.
Geneva Iona (Sparks) Kellough

Missoula - Geneva Iona (Sparks) Kellough, 87, of Missoula, Montana passed away, Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Village Healthcare Center of natural causes.
She was born August 24, 1928, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to Ennis J. and Gladys G. (Ward) Sparks.
On January 1, 1953, she married
Harvey J. Kellough in Chillicothe, Ohio, where the couple resided until moving to Missoula, in 1975.
She was a very caring woman who dedicated her life to being a wife, homemaker and mother.
She had a great love for any activity that included family and friends, such as fishing, and camping.
She also liked growing indoor plants, working puzzles, collecting Angel figurines, glass bells, and California Raisin Souvenirs.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother and a grandson.
Survivors include daughters: Carlotta Geesen (John), Gladys Parks (Dennis) of Missoula, MT Robin Crowe (Carl) of Superior, MT Sons: Charles Kellough (Donna) of Stevensville, MT and Michael Kellough (Avalon) of Clinton, MT; numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, as well as Two sisters and two brothers, in Ohio.
A funeral service will be held at Whitesitt Funeral Home, Stevensville, MT Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be directly after the service at Sunnyside cemetery, followed by fellowship at the CJ Kellough residence, 478 Ridge Rd.
Flowers can be sent to the funeral home.
