Dyanne Darlyn Ricker
Date of Death: Nov 1, 2012
Location of Service: St. Paul Lutheran Church - Missoula
STEVENSVILLE – Dyanne Darlyn Ricker, aka “Red,” of Stevensville, lost her hard battle with cancer on Nov. 1, 2012.
Dyanne was born in Marlborough, Mass., on Aug. 28, 1957; she was one of five brothers and sisters. Dyanne was a hairdresser and helped run her mother’s beauty salon in Framingham, Mass. She married
William S. Bridges and raised her three children – Janel, Billy and Zac – back East until 1993. At that time she decided she wanted a better life for her children, which landed her in the Bitterroot Valley.
Dyanne loved horses, horseback riding, dogs, cats and just about every kind of animal, so it was an obvious choice to move to Montana. She was a hairdresser by trade but an entrepreneur and motivated woman by heart. She became a manager at Regis Salon in Missoula shortly after moving here. Her passion was being a great mother, wife and homemaker. She started a horse breeding business and did well.
Dyanne was a strong woman, mentally and physically. She could work all day with the horses, make dinner for her family and clean the house without complaint. She was happiest doing things for her family and loved feeling needed. Later she changed her passion to Goldendoodles and was very successful. She not only clipped, groomed, bred, raised, fed, watered and marketed these dogs, she also built and managed her own website and sold dogs all around the country.
Dyanne was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and the person she was in good health, never left her. She was the type of person who never took a break; she would help anyone no matter what the problem. She was always there to lend advice or a hand. She was very generous and never expected anything in return.
Dyanne made a lot of friends throughout her life, many of whom she considered family. Dyanne was an amazing mother to her children and loved being a fun, silly Nana to her grandchildren. She was proud of her family and was supportive in anything they did. Dyanne didn’t know a stranger; she would spark up a conversation with anyone and loved to brag about her family. She was loving, vibrant, outgoing and always ready to have fun. She loved to entertain and would invite even the slightest acquaintance over for Thanksgiving dinner and treat them like family.
Dyanne passed away watching her favorite shows, peacefully in her bed. She fell asleep Halloween night and never woke up. She was 55 and had a lot of living left to do; she didn’t go without a fight.
She is forever in our hearts, and our memories will never be forgotten. She is already missed by so many.
She was preceded in death by her father Richard Cote. She is survived by her children Janel and Guy Jones, William and Lynndee Bridges and Zachary Bridges, all of Stevensville; her eight grandchildren whom she adored; and many family and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 202 Brooks St., Missoula.
