PERRY NEISS
Perry D. Neiss, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at a Havre care center due to natural causes.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow at Highland cemetery.
Perry was born on Aug. 2, 1927, to Ezra and Margaret (Hutchinson) Neiss in Coopers Town, N.D. He was raised and educated in the area. He served in the Marine Corps. After his discharge in the 1950s came to Havre.
He married
Betty Clampitt and had three children. They later divorced.
Perry worked at various places around the Havre area until he purchased and operated Perry's Bear Paw Bar in Box Elder for many years. He later retired and lived in Harlem.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Terry.
Survivors include his brother, Curtis Neiss of Portland, Ore.; sons, Bill Neiss of Sidney and Derry Neiss of Minnesota, and their families; daughter, Sherry Kuntz and her family of Montana City; and his 30-year companion, Geri Doney.
Memorials may be made to the VFW of Havre.
Thomas “LeRoy” Forest
1926 - 2012
Thomas “LeRoy” Forest, 85, died on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, after a battle with cancer at the Wolf Point Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
He was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Poplar to Bert and Edith (Westfall) Forest.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point. Interment was in the Poplar City cemetery in Poplar.
Bell Mortuary of Glasgow was in charge of arrangements.
CHARLOTTE STEVENS
PHOENIX - Former Havre resident Charlotte "Lynn" Decker Stevens, 65, of Phoenix, died of cancer Friday in Phoenix.
There will be no services.
Lynn was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Havre, where she was raised and educated. She attended Havre High School and attended the University of Montana in Missoula.
During her husband's career as a Navy dentist, Lynn lived in San Francisco, Japan, Houston, the Philippines and San Diego. She was able to pursue her passion for travel and visisted many of the countries of the world. In later years, Lynn ran a catering business and an antique business. At various times, she had homes in Baltimore, Bristol, Vt., San Francisco and Phoenix. In addition to traveling, Lynn had a genuine interest in people and collected friends wherever she journeyed.
Lynn was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Susan Decker; and her parents, James and Margaret Decker of Havre.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Mark Stevens of Baltimore; a brother, Bob Decker of Helena; nieces Mary Elizabeth and Rosa Decker; and a close group of friends around the globe.

Dolores A. Morehouse
1942 - 2012
Dolores A. Morehouse, 69, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1942, in Brighton, Colo., the daughter of William A. Wheat and Eufemia (Sanchez) Zeier.
A vigil service will be held Thursday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Bell Chapel in Glasgow.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Glasgow. Interment will be in Deer Lodge.
Wilbur "Bud" Phillips
1912 - 2012
Wilbur "Bud" Phillips of Dodson, Mont., 99, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012.
He was born Aug. 20, 1912, outside of Addison, N.Y., to Henry and Myrtle Phillips.
A wake will be held Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Dodson Lutheran Church.
Services will be Friday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m., at the Dodson School, with burial following in the Hillside cemetery.
RUTH STATELEN
Ruth Mildred Statelen, 77, a Havre resident, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at a Lewistown medical center.
Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Rowlie Hutton officiating. A luncheon will be served following the services and burial will follow at the Wing cemetery.
Ruth was born in Turner to William and Hazel Hutton on April 14, 1926.
Ruth married
Albert Orville Statelen on Aug. 7, 1942, and they enjoyed 60 years together. She worked hand in hand with her husband on the farm.
In the late 1950s, Ruth and her sister, Esther, operated the Turner Cafè. After moving to Havre in 1960, she worked alongside Al in his massage therapy practice. Ruth loved working Shaklee and built her business to coordinator. She loved the Lord and was active in the Fifth Avenue Christian Church. Her entire life was devoted to raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, on Dec. 12, 2002.
Survivors include her son, Calvin (Maureen) Statelen of Chinook; daughters, Alberta (Stan) Booth of Malta, Carmen (Roger) Hammond of Australia, and Marlys (Bret) Carpenter of Lewistown; sisters, Esther Statelen and O'Marie VanValkenburg, both of Chinook, and Priscilla Reed of Shannavon, Saskatchewan; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Fifth Avenue Christian Church or to the Little Rockies Christian Camp, Box 1328, Havre, MT 59501.

Annabell M. (Kuether) Prestbo
1915 - 2012
Annabell M. (Kuether) Prestbo of Saco, Mont., 96, died of natural causes on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at the Hi-Line Retirement Home in Malta.
She was born on March 22, 1915, in Saco, the daughter of Fred and Helen (Benson) Kuether.
Funeral services are pending for later in the spring. Interment will be in the Grandview cemetery in Saco.
Memorials are suggested to the Saco Methodist Church. Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
Jean (Hurly) White
1915 - 2012
Jean (Hurly) White, formerly of Glasgow, died on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at home in Helena, Mont.
Born Sept. 13, 1915, she lived every minute of her 96 years. The second of five children of Judge John and Jeannette Hurly of Glasgow.
A memorial service will be held at a summer date to be announced. Cremation has taken place.

REGINALD SPENSLEY
North Havre resident Reginald Lloyd Spensley, a retired custodian for Northern Montana College, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes. He was 71.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Glacier Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kalispell with full military graveside honors.
Reginald was born Dec. 2, 1931, to Lloyd B. and Greta Mae (Aitchison) Spensley in Livingston, Calif. He attended school in Turlock, Calif. In 1951 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War.
After an honorable discharge from the Navy he worked for his father on the family farm as a milker. He then worked as a milker for several commercial diaries.
He married
Ethel Stevens in Turlock. The couple later divorced. She died in 1995.
In 1974 he met and married
Janet Carol Harper and the couple resided in Kalispell. In 1980 the couple moved to Havre where he worked at Havre High School and later at Northern Montana College as a custodian until retirement in 1993.
He was extremely fond of animals, especially his dogs, Bubbles and Boo Boo. He also enjoyed working in the yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Scott Spensley in 1974 and Todd Spensley in 1994; and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Janet Spensley of Havre; daughters, Michelle (Victor) Jones and Pam Spensley, both of Portland, Ore., Stephanie (Dean Olson) Spensley of Athens, Ala., Anna Gardner of Billings, and Helen (Steve Gooch) Elmore of Havre; sons, Ronnie (Patty) Gardner and Victor (Lisa) Gardner, both of Hillsdale, Mich.; brother, Gavin T. Spensley of Turlock; 29 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

James "Jay" Skylor Durham
1981-2012
James “Jay” Skylor Durham died on Monday, June 4, 2012, at the age of 31 years.
He was born in Yuba City, Calif., to James W. and Jo Anne Lynn (Naslund) Jones. of Tucson, Ariz.
A private service was held on June 8 in Billings, followed by cremation.
Interment will be in Tucson.
Hazel "Deanie" Johnson
1942-2012
Hazel "Deanie" Johnson, 69, of Sheridan, Wyo., died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Sheridan Manor after a 12-year struggle with lung decease.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, at Sheridan Municipal cemetery in Wyoming with Rev. Don Derryberry officiating.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1942, in Glasgow to Boyd and Beatrice Hedalen.
