Travis L. Neuteboom
Travis Lyle Neuteboom, 29, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, in Billings.
He was born Oct. 3, 1972, in Ogden, Utah. the son of Lyle S. Neuteboom and Vicky L. Humphrey. He grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1991.
Travis had a very magnetic personality and the ability to be a leader. He also enjoyed spending time with children and the elderly.
Travis was a great outsdoorsman who enjoyed camping and golfing. His passions were fishing and skydiving. Travis was an accomplished D licensed skydiver with a Pro Rating. The only thing that he enjoyed more than skydiving was teaching it. He earned his jumpmaster and instructor ratings in Laurel, Mont., where he met his wife, Jenny Marie Neuteboom. Travis and Jenny were married
Oct. 30, 1999, at the First United Methodist Church in Billings.
Surviving are his wife, Jenny of Billings; his parents, Lyle S. Neuteboom and spouse DeDe; Vicky L. Humphrey; Lynne Neuteboom (other mom); Tom Humphrey (other dad) and spouse, Sparky; Galen and Cathy Guenther; and Bob Holbrook.
Also surviving are his grandparents, Billie Santee and Evelyn Buck; his sisters, Felicia Rodgers and spouse Stewart; Alexis Humphrey; Danielle Lane and spouse Ben; Malorie Neuteboom; Lauren Neuteboom; Michele Holbrook; his brother, James Holbrook; his step-brother and step-sister, Jake Dalgarn and Kissy Dalgarn; a niece, Jayde Puls, and a nephew, Jareth Holbrook.
Travis is also survived by many other family and friends who will miss and love him always.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Yellowstone Bank, P.O. Box 81010, Billings, MT 59108 in the name of Travis Neuteboom.

Jake Neufeld
LARSLAN – Jake Neufeld, 90, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at his home near Larslan, Mont., of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Lustre Mennonite Brethren Church in Lustre, Mont. Interment in the Lustre Mennonite cemetery in Lustre. Bell Mortuary is in charge.
Helen E. Frickle
A dear and precious soul passed from this life on Nov. 8, 2001. She was a resident of Eagle Cliff Manor and was shown love and true compassion by all who attended her in her final days and hours. For this, we are overwhelmingly grateful.
Helen was born in Ault, Colo., on April 6, 1919, to Henry Greenwalt and Carrie Wonenberg Greenwalt.
On Jan. 20, 1936, she married
Philip Frickle and to this union three children were born: Bonnie Lue, Delva Lee and Danny Jay. Most of their married
life was spent in Hardin, and when Holly Sugar factory closed, they moved to Delta, Colo. They returned to Billings in 1980 and were residents of Casa Village.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was always shown much love by her church family. Many were so kind to visit and express their love for her these past few months.
Mother had a great memory, knowing everyone’s birthday and anniversary and the date that friends and loved ones died. She enjoyed corresponding with her many friends throughout the years, and I know they will miss her cards and notes now that she is gone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Ruby and her son-in-law, Robert Ruegamer.
She is survived by Bonnie and her companion, Ron Braaton; granddaughter, Brenda (Tommy); great-granddaughter, Sunshine; Delva and companion, Everett Converse; granddaughter, Shelly (Michael Smith); grandson, Dean (Joanna); great-grandchildren, Valary and Levi; Dan and his wife Vicky and their children Eric and Emily; her brothers, Albert and Don (Rose) Greenwalt; sister, Lorie Davis; sister-in-laws, Esther (Fred) Lind, Mary Frickle, Mabel Frickle and Clara Hochhalter; and many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
We love you, Mother, and will always hold you close in our hearts.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Cremation or Funeral Gallery. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Hardin Fairview cemetery.
John Carl Minter
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – John Carl Minter died suddenly in Englewood on Oct. 31, 2001. He was 40 years old.
John was born May 22, 1961, in Lansdale, Montgomery County, Pa., a suburb of Philadelphia. He moved with his family to Cody, Wyo., in 1963.
He attended Cody schools, Valley Forge Military Academy, Yellowstone Boys Ranch and graduated from Billings West High School. He loved long distance running and received a varsity letter in cross-country while at Valley Forge.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, reading about Civil War events, target shooting with his black powder rifle, sketching wildlife and horseback riding.
He was employed at Denver Marriott City Center for the past 15 years, receiving many employee awards. He was well respected by his fellow workers. He will be sorely missed by the Community Care staff of Dr. Lou and Debbie Bruno, Bill Guenther and Mike McCoy, his family in Denver for close to 20 years.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Marilyn Minter of Cody; sisters, Dr. Marybeth Minter of Kelly, Wyo., and Susan A. Minter of Riverton, Wyo.; aunts and uncles, David and Sarah Byrne of Ambler, Pa., Emily Anders of Abington, Pa., and Clark and Barbara Minter of Telford, Pa.; and nine cousins.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Valley cemetery on Friday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lawrence Vinson of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.

Wayne Neal Coffey
At the age of 57, Wayne Coffey died on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001. Wayne was born Feb. 25, 1944, in Oakland, Calif., the son of Jim and Roberta Coffey. He moved with his family to Needles, Calif., and graduated from Needles High School in 1961. He then attended Valley College in Van Nuys and the Don Martin School of Radio and Television in Hollywood, Calif.
After graduating and leaving Hollywood, Wayne’s first radio broadcasting job was in Hardin. He then moved to Billings and worked as an announcer at KOOK radio. He later became the program director at KEIN radio in Great Falls. Wayne returned to Billings and worked as the news director of the Northern Ag Network in Billings and later as the program director and sales executive at KGHL Radio from 1977-1985. He also held broadcasting positions in Amarillo, Texas, and Cody, Wyo.
On March 3, 1979, Wayne was untied in marriage to Terrell Rimpe.
In 1985, Wayne left his career in radio to become manager and marketing director for Masterlube in Billings. In 1996, he joined the Principal Financial Group as an insurance agent and customer service representative.
Wayne achieved a life long dream of owning his own business when he and his wife, Terrell, purchased the Great Harvest Bread Company at 907 Poly Drive, in March of 1999. Wayne derived great pleasure in greeting and talking to his many customers at the bakery and always had a smile for everyone.
Hiking, camping, golfing and gardening are some of the things Wayne enjoyed doing with his wife. He was an avid reader and was known by his friends as a true lover of wine. He enjoyed fishing and being in the outdoors. Wayne was generous with his heart and always ready and willing to share or give to his friends.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 22 years, Terrell; son David, his wife Darla and their children, Amber, Rachel and Briana of Rigby, Idaho; son Donovan, his wife Sharee and their son, James of Silverdale, Wash.; his mother Roberta; sister Joyce Barth of Laveen, Ariz.; brother-in-law Scott Rimpe and his wife Lorrie; his father and mother-in-law Karl and Susan Rimpe; a niece, nephews and a multitude of friends.
Wayne, you will be greatly missed by all of us. May God keep you until we can be together again.
A Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the First Presbyterian Church. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to Al Bedoo Shrine Children’s Fund, PO Box 20673, Billings MT 59104-0673. Dahl Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
Francis J. ‘Fran’ Stang
GEORGETOWN LAKE – Francis J. “Fran” Stang, 62, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 at his home on Eccleston Bay of Georgetown Lake.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the Anaconda Chapel of KT Riddle Funeral Home.
Howard D. Corey
Howard D. Corey died Nov. 8, 2001, at his home.
Howard was born Dec. 11, 1919, the son of Iris and Earl Corey on the family homestead near Intake, Mont. At the age of 5, his father died from complications of a horse and wagon accident. The family moved to Intake where his mother was Postmistress for 35 years. He attended elementary school at Intake and graduated from Dawson County High School with honors.
He married
Verda Mae Hagler, June 21, 1941. Howard and Verda had two daughters, Sandra (Jim) Olson of Billings and Sherri (Larry) Hoffman of Ft. Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Mark (Kim) Olson of Silverthorne, Colo., Travis (Paige) Olson of Lake Oswego, Ore., Scott (Kacey) Olson of Billings and Cori (Jason) Evertson of Ft. Worth, Texas; and three great-grandsons, Blake, Payton and Dillon.
Howard enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately following Pearl Harbor. He attended O.C.S. graduating as a 2nd Lt. He served in the E.T.O. as company commander. He experienced the Battle of the Bulge and was honorably discharged as a captain in 1946.
Upon his return, he worked at the Midland National Bank in Billings. In 1948, they moved to the farming community at Kinsey, Mont. to help his semi-retired father-in-law. They purchased a farm and farmed for 12 years while the girls were growing up.
In 1960, they moved to Miles City where he served as business manager for the State Industrial School for Boys.
His strong faith in the Lord guided him in all endeavors. Before his stroke, he was an active member of the Kinsey Community Church, the Methodist Church, the community and Kiwanis, having served as president.
They moved to Billings in 1973 to become administrator of a retirement home. During this period, he built two homes in Billings and their cedar cabin in Red Lodge. One of his greatest joys was rebuilding his mom’s Model A – complete with rumble seat.
He enjoyed golfing and time spent at their cabin, but most of all he loved the time spent with his family and grandchildren and helping others. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Keith and Clifford. His faith and courage during his 14 years of illness was a guiding light for all who knew him. We will miss him. At the time of his death he was a member of Faith Chapel.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Big Sky Hospice, P.O. Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107. Cremation or Funeral Gallery is in charge of arrangements.
Charles William Casey Jr.
GLENDIVE – Charles William Casey Jr., age 70, of Glendive, Mont., passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at the Deaconess Billings Clinic in Billings.
Charles was born on Oct. 31, 1931, in Wibaux, Mont., the son of Charles and Susan (Beeler) Casey Sr. He attended schools in Dawson County and following his schooling he worked for Shaw and Selman Ranches. Charles was drafted into the United States Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to work for the Selman Ranch. Charlie married
Judith Kuch on May 17, 1959, in Glendive. Charlie then went to work for Dion Ranch before moving to Hardin where he worked construction for Babcock and Lee Construction during the Yellowtail Darn Project. They then returned to Glendive where he worked for the Dawson County Road Department. Due to his sister’s family emergency, they moved to Cartwright, N.D., to help on her ranch for 3-1/2 years before purchasing their ranch east of Glendive. He continued working heavy equipment for the Dawson County Road Department until 1994 when he retired. He continued ranching until the time of his death.
Charlie was on the Board of Directors for Farm Bureau and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He loved to ride and train horses, train cow dogs, go to rodeos, brandings and spend time with his family and friends. Charlie always said a horse had to earn the right to carry his brand. If you needed to find Charlie in a crowd, you could locate him by his laugh.
Charles is survived by his wife, Judith Casey of Glendive; three sons, Tim Casey, Tom Casey and Ted and his wife Susie, all of Glendive; a daughter, Shelley Tidaback and her husband Jack of Glendive; five grandchildren, Marya, Shay and Kyana Casey, Trent and Morgan Tidaback and sixth grandchild due in two months; three sisters, Fern Austby and her husband Ray of Marmarth, N.D., Kate Casey of South Heart, N.D., Mert Schlautmann and her husband Louie of South Heart, N.D.; and a sister-in-law, Helen Casey of Glendive. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Delbert and Andy.
Family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Dawson County cemetery in Glendive with full military honors. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Dawson Community College Rodeo Calf Roping Buckle.
Anne L. Christensen
PLENTYWOOD – Anne L. Christensen, 78, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Plentywood Lutheran Church with burial in the Ebenezer cemetery, east of Antelope.
