Douglas A. Harrington
SHERIDAN, Wyo. – Douglas A. Harrington, 42, died Thursday, April 13, 2000.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Catholic Church with burial in Sheridan Municipal cemetery.
Geraldine Henton
BIG TIMBER – Geraldine Henton, 89, died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at the Pioneer Medical Center of cancer.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain View cemetery in Riverton, Wyo. Lowry Funeral Home in Big Timber is in charge of local arrangements.
Albert Wesley Lawson
POWELL, Wyo. – Albert Wesley Lawson, 74, a resident of Powell, died at the Powell Hospital on Thursday, April 13, 2000.
Mr. Lawson was born on Dec. 7, 1925, to Oliver Murphy and Clara Mugda (Lien) Lawson in Concrete, N.D. He attended Park River Agricultural School in Park River, N.D. On Dec. 17, 1956, he and Carol Ann Brandt were married
in Powell and they made their home near Heart Mountain in Powell.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and served with the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. His hobbies included photography, painting (restoring vehicles, farm equipment and machinery) and travel.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Lawson; sons, Keith Lawson and wife Suzette of Murray, Utah, and Daryl Lawson and wife Cheryl Ann of Cody; daughter Gayle Chvilicek and husband John of Bigfork, Mont.; brothers, Robert Lawson and wife Ida of Powell and Richard Lawson and wife Zelda of Cavalier, N.D.; sisters, Mildred Lynch and husband Joe of Kirkland, Wash., and Edna Lerude and husband Richard of Bothell, Wash.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lawrence Lawson; son, Lynn Lawson and grandson Garrett Lawson.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place with memorial services to be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Ballard Funeral Home in Cody. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home Powell, and Ballard Funeral Home, Cody, are in charge of the arrangements.
Marjory Quinliven Lind
Marjory Quinliven Lind, of Billings, passed away Friday, April 14, 2000, at Aspen Meadows.
Marjory was born Aug. 5, 1907, to John and Clara Maude Quin-liven. She lived in North Dakota and Minnesota be-fore moving to Billings. She started working for J.C. Penney’s in Duluth, Minn., and continued working for them in Billings until her retirement in 1962.
She and Bob, her husband of 72 years, moved to Billings in 1948. Marjory loved fishing, bowling and traveling in their camper through the desert states. She especially enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters Billie Becotte and Bobbie Ostrum, of Billings and a son Richard Lind of Duluth, Minn., nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Marjory was preceded in death by her husband Bob, a daughter Colleen Leader, two sisters, four brothers and many, many friends. Marjory was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by everyone.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Mortuary.

Fern Parker Rowland
JOLIET – Fern Parker Rowland, 79, of Joliet, died early Saturday, April 15, 2000, in Beartooth Hospital & Health Center in Red Lodge following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Hardin on April 30, 1920, she was a daughter of Chester and Vida Redman. She was raised and educated in Fromberg. In 1936 she married
Ralph Parker, and they farmed at Bridger. Mr. Parker died in 1968.
On Aug. 14, 1970, she married
Gordon Rowland. They ranched at Joliet until retiring into town in 1992.
Fern was a charter member of the Joliet Baptist Church and was active in the Joliet Senior Citizens. She greatly enjoyed rock hunting with her two sisters and fishing with her grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Allan, and a brother, Paul Redman.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Rowland of Joliet; one daughter, Sue (Curtis) Schwend of Roberts; two sons, Bob (Sue Ellen) Parker of Chicago, and Tom Parker of Dallas; two sisters, Toots Parker of Bridger and Marjorie (Sid) Taylor of Fromberg; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Joliet Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Bridger cemetery, with the Olcott Funeral Chapel of Red Lodge in charge of arrangements.

Alfred R. Teske
SACO – Alfred R. Teske, 89, died Friday, April 14, 2000, at the Phillips County Good Samaritan Center in Malta of natural causes.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Saco Lutheran Church with burial in Grandview cemetery. Adams Funeral Home in Malta is in charge.
Gladys G. Traweek
BAKER – Gladys G. Traweek, 93, died on Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Fallon Medical Complex.
A Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday in the Stevenson’s Funeral Home in Baker. A Christian Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Catholic Section of the Bonnievale cemetery.
Ruth Orr
MILES CITY – Ruth Orr, 73, died on Thursday, April 13, 2000, at her home.
Visitation will begin Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 17, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County cemetery.
William ‘Buzz’ McDonald
MILES CITY – William R. “Buzz” McDonald, 74, formerly of Livingston, died on Thursday, April 13, 2000, at the Holy Rosary Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 17, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be held at a later date in Livingston.
Bertha O. Allen
Bertha O. Allen, formerly of Plentywood, passed away on April 13, 2000. Bertha was born Sept. 17, 1914, in Michigan, N.D., to Magnus and Marie Mork. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John and two children, Stanley and Baby Boy.
She leaves behind her four children: Lor-rell (Eleanore) Allen; Marlene (Harold) Banks, Bette (Don) Stoller and Judy (Lynn) Angvick; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Bertha was the fourth of 10 children. Surviving siblings are Signa Chittle, Nellie Orth, Gladys Manning, and Lars (Joyce), Anna, Maurice, Ed, Leif, and Melvin (Yvonne) Mork.
Bertha had many friends at the South Forty apartment in Billings and will be missed by all who knew her. Her family wishes to give a special “Thank You” to Ann Wild for her thoughtfulness in checking on Mom these past few months. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Northern Rockies Cancer Center in Billings.
Visitation will begin 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist. Funeral services will be held at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Plentywood on Tuesday, April 18, at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at the Rock Springs cemetery west of Reserve.
Robert L. Grego
LEWISTOWN – Robert L. “Bob” Grego, 68, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at the Central Montana Medical Center of natural causes.
Funeral services will be at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, in the Montana Mental Health Nursing Care Center Chapel. Interment will follow in the Lewistown City cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge.
Bill Rodier
Bill Rodier, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and dear friend has moved on to greater spaces. After two years of suffering with various ailments, Bill died peacefully on April 13, 2000.
Bill was born Jan. 26, 1917, in Pennsauken, N.J., to M.W. “Bill” Rodier Sr. and Esther Krueger Rod-ier. The family lived all over the east from Chicago to Long Island. After graduating from high school, Bill moved to Atlanta, Ga., to attend Georgia Tech where he received a degree in textile engineering. He met Ellie O’Neal when they were both trainers at an equestrian center. They were married
on June 14, 1941, after a four-year courtship.
During World War II, from 1942 to 1945, he was quality control supervisor at the Rock Island (Ill.) Arsenal and various bases in the South. His main responsibility was to ensure quality control of all handguns and rifles used during the war. There he met his lifelong friend, James Whitcomb Reineking Sr. Together Jim and Bill planned to move to Montana and open a gun shop. Jim moved to Billings to open the Reineking Gun Shop in 1946. Bill and Ellie and their young son, Billy, followed in 1947. Bill and Jim ran the Reineking Gun Shop together until April 1954.
In 1954, Bill and Ellie opened the Billings Cycle Center, which they owned and operated until 1979 when they retired. In his prime, Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding, camping, shooting, and many other outdoor activities. The family traveled together nearly every weekend. Bill won the Montana State Hillclimb several times. He also won many cross-country and other races throughout the Northwest. Bill was an expert marksman and mechanic.
After he retired, Bill pursued many other interests like woodworking, leather working7 engraving, welding, and team roping. In fact, he and his long-time friend, Marcel Verhaeghe, built a roping arena so Bill could pursue roping in his own back yard. He also roped whenever and wherever a roping was held, especially at George Yost’s. He earned numerous buckles that he proudly showcased.
Bill was a cowboy at heart with an incredible zest for life. He found his spirituality in the outdoors and shared it with his loved ones at every opportunity. Although he was very shy, he had an extraordinary sense of humor that everyone enjoyed.
Bill was active in many organizations. He was a member of the National Old Timers Rodeo Association, a Charter Member of the Muzzle Blast Association, and a Life Member of the American Motorcycle Association. He also heavily supported the Billings Motorcycle Club during their early years and was a member until the mid 1970s. He was also active with the Billings Saddle Club and the Billings Mounted Quadrille.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Naomi and Esther; his wife, Ellic O. Rodier; and his granddaughter, Debbie Rodier. Survivors include his son, M.W. “Billy” Rodier, III and his wife, Tam, (Billy’s children M.W. “Skip” Rodier IV, Shane Rodier, and Mike Morrical); his daughter, Michele Schindele and her husband, Pat (their two daughters, Bree and Noelle); and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin 1 p.m. Monday at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials should be sent to the Midland Empire Riding Academy for the Handicapped, 1439 Barrett Road, Billings, MT 59105.
Thomas E. Crable Jr.
Thomas E. Crable Jr., 56, of Billings, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at the hospital in Tracy, Calif., after an apparent heart attack while working on his semi.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cremation or Funeral Gal-lery, 8th & St. Johns. Inter-ment with military honors will follow at Mountview cemetery.
He was born in Billings, the son of Thomas Edward and Betty Lou Cropper Crable. Tom attended school in Billings and married
Helen M. Mill on June 21, 1963, in Billings. He served with the Army in Vietnam and returned to Billings in 1967 and worked as a manager for the Sandy’s Drive-in on Grand Avenue. In recent years, he drove truck for Agriculture Express hauling produce from California and Arizona to Billings Super Value.
Tommy loved fishing, camping and his boat, especially being with his family and more proudly of his granddaughter, TaLynn.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; one daughter, Tanaya Crable and hercompanion, Kevin Carner, with granfdaughter, TaLynn Carner; one son, Jeffrey T. Crable and his companion, Jolene Scheuermann; two brothers, Gary R. (Lois) Crable and Randy G. (Roberta) Crable; numerous nieces and nephews.
He has been preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Memorials may be made to the charity of choice or to the Heart Fund.
Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.
Thelma Farley
Thelma Farley, age 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, April 11, 2000, in Billings. She was born Aug. 19, 1909, to William and Nanny Harper Decker in Mt. Vernon, Ky.
Thelma moved to the Colstrip-Castle Rock area as a youth and grew up there. She met Boyd Farley and they were married
June 14, 1929. Boyd and Thelma put together a ranch on the Horse Creek Divide where they had a son, Jackie Boyd. Boyd and Thelma then moved to Billings.
Thelma was preceded in death by her son, Jackie; her husband, Boyd; sisters, Melba and Beulah Farley and a brother, Thamer Decker. She is survived by a nephew, Burton Farley of Hardin; a niece, Myrna Beamer of Clarkston, Wash., and seven great nieces and nephews.
“Aunt Thelma, we thank you for all you have done for us.”
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 17, at Smith Downtown Chapel. Interment will follow with Eastern Star rites at the Forsyth cemetery at 2 p.m. Viewing will be at Smith Downtown Chapel starting Saturday from 8 a.m.- 9 p.m., Sunday noon- 8 p.m., and Monday prior to services.
