Roy Wilfred Beslanwitch
On Friday, April 28, 2000, Roy Wilfred Beslanwitch, our husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend, died with the dignity in which he lived.
Roy was born in Park City on Dec. 29, 1926, the son at Fred and Martha Beslanwitch. His fondest memories were of his childhood in Park City and he told many wonderful stories of life during the Depression.
Roy attended grade school in Park City and moved to Billings with his parents and sister at the age of 12. He attended Garfield Elementary School and went on to graduate from Billings Senior High School.
Shortly betore his 18th birthday, he joined the United States Navy where he served as a paymaster aboard the USS Bennington. After World War II, he came home to Billings to marry Joyce Porter in July of 1948. Joyce and Roy had one son.
Roy worked at many jobs in his early life, beginning with Greenleaf Jewelers as a teenager, Pierce Flooring in his early married years, and ultimately as a comptroller in many automotive dealerships throughout the Northwest.
In April of 1974, he married Norma Adair in Lewiston, Idaho, and together they raised three children.
The following 14 years were spent setting up computer systems in Seattle, Oregon, Montana and Idaho.
In 1983, Roy met and married Sally Mitson. Together they formed a team of auditors, moving throughout the Northwest until his retirement in 1988, when he returned to Montana to practice his golfing and finally getting his first hole-in-one at the age of 68. Roy enjoyed fishing and camping on the Stillwater River where he always caught the first and largest fish.
Roy is survived by his wife, Sally; sister, Beverly Bennetts of Billings; sons, Bruce Beslanwitch of Silverdale, Wash.; Tim Adair of Spokane, Wash.; Rick Adair of Portland, Ore.; John S. Thomas of Portland, Conn.; Jeffrey Thomas of Billings; and Justin Mitson of Boise, Idaho; and a daughter, Debbie Adair of Pullman, Wash.
Along with many nieces and grandnieces, his grandchildren include, Trevor Beslanwitch, Jennifer Loaiza, Amanda Brodigan, Colleen Beslanwitch, Jamie, Jade and Julia Adair, John Jacob Thomas and Channing Aline Mitson; and one great-grandchild, Evan Brodigan.
Along with family, Roy leaves behind his great friends, Lloyd Dooley, Jack Bennetts, and Bobby Lee and with those, many happy memories.
In June of 1999, Roy developed renal. failure and was put on dialysis to prolong his life. Roy had made the recent decision to forgo further lifesaving measures and called his family to his side to be with him during his last week. The gathering of sons and daughters made his last days very pleasant and his family so much enjoyed being with him to hear his last jokes and stories.
Cremation has taken p1ace and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, at Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Elsie G. Coleman
THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. – Elsie G. Coleman, 97, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in the Evergreen Nursing Home in Butte, Mont.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 2, at Mortimore Funeral Home with interment at 2 p.m. at riverside cemetery in Thermopolis.

Arthur L. Dillon
POWELL, Wyo. – Arthur L. Dillon, 73, died on Thursday, April 27, 2000, at the Powell Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Deaver cemetery.

Jaclyn Ronalda Rose Falls Down
CROW AGENCY – Our Little angel, Jaclyn Ronalda Rose Falls Down, 13, of Crow Agency, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 27, 2000.
Ammalaxxiassaah “Outstanding singer” was born June 19, 1986 in Billings, a daughter of Ronald and Georgine Takes Gun Falls Down. She grew up and attended schools in Lodge Grass. She was to have graduated from the 8th grade in May.
DakaakchiakaatiKaash “Sees the White Dove” was a member of the Ties the Bundle Clan, a child of the Big Lodge Clan, a member of the Lodge Grass Baptist Church and the Lodge Grass Junior High Indian Club.
She took great pride in her traditional values, such as beading and signing, where she was able to sign the “Lord’s Prayer”. She was the 1992 Lodge Grass 4th of July Pow Wow Ties the Bundle Princess and the 1999 Crow Fair, Junior Miss for the Crow Nation.
Jaclyn was a very artistic person and an exceptional student, who excelled in all of her endeavors, particularly Crow studies and math, receiving numerous achievement awards.
Survivors include her parents, Ronald and Georgine Falls Down Sr. of Crow Agency; two sisters, Joselyn (Kenny) Ward of Pryor and Janna Falls Down of Crow Agency; her brother, Ronald Falls Down Jr. of Crow Agency; her grandparents, Ruth Alden, Francis Bends, Ada Rides Horse and Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Nomee of Lodge Grass, Philip Beaumont Sr. of Pryor, Ramona Real Bird of Garryowen and Merle and Phyllis Big Medicine of Dunmore; her adopted parents, Lawrence and Jennifer Flat Lip of Pryor; her special niece, Yvette Ward and special nephews, Isaiah Falls Nomee, Frank and Tevin Nomee; as well as a host of aunts, uncles and Crow brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday in the Lodge Grass Elementary School Gymnasium. Interment will follow in the Lodge Grass cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
We all love you and miss you.

Lucille Lenhardt
Lucille Lenhardt, 77, met with her Lord with her family at her bedside Thursday, April 27, 2000. Lucille, a daughter of B.C. and Marguerite Warren Kelly, was born March 9, 1923, in Denver; 11 months later her family moved to Billings. She married Adolph E. Lenhardt Nov. 5, 1939. Lucille and Adolph farmed west of Billings 39 years, retiring in February of 1978.
Lucille enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, dancing, attending church, playing cards, volunteering and talking She was a member of the American Lutheran Church since 1946 and active in PTA, chairman of the Retarded Association, tax preparer and member of the Billings Community Center, Meals on Wheels, School Foundation Program, Council for Disabilities, OAKS, Legacy Legislature, Elderhostel, and founder of Grandma’s Attic.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Adolph; daughter, Barbara; grandson, James. Surviving are her son, Charles and his wonderful wife, Rosalie; grandson, Henry Edward and his fiancee, Sydne Bradley; and granddaughter, Sheri Ann.
Viewing will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Monday at Cremation or Funeral Gallery, 8th St. W. & St. Johns. Viewing is 1:15 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. Monday at the American Lutheran Church, 5 Lewis Ave., with reception. Cremation will follow. Inurnment is Saturday, May 6, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Big Sky Hospice, Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Lorvetta ‘Vetta’ Miller
LINDSAY – Lorvetta “Vetta” Miller, age 75, of Lindsay, Mont., died on Thursday, April 27, 2000, at the Eastern Montana Veterans Nursing Home in Glendive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 1, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Paul Everett officiating. Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial cemetery in Glendive. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Vetta was born on Nov. 6, 1924, in Glendive, Mont., the daughter of John David and Marie Louise (Jurgensen) Harvey. She was raised and educated in Glendive and graduated from Dawson County High School in 1944. She then attended the Western Union Teletype School in Billings. Vetta worked as a teletype operator during World War H in Seattle. She returned to Montana to help with the family farm. On Jan. 18, 1948, Vetta married Ralph Miller in Terry, Mont. They farmed near Lindsay and Vetta worked alongside Ralph on the farm.
She was past secretary of the Deer Creek Lutheran Church and had also served as secretary of the Lindsay Hall Association. Vetta was a 4-H Leader and enjoyed gardening, cooking and the outdoors.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph of Lindsay; one daughter, Wendy Labrie of Billings; her sister, Marinette Weeden and her husband, Bill of Billings; two grandchildren, Todd Labrie of Lindsay and Lacie Labrie of Billings.
Vetta was preceded in death by her parents; her son, George “Jug”; her brother, George Harvey and her sister, Jane Harvey.

Vernadeen Marie Miller
THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. – Vernadeen Marie Miller, age 80, died April 27, 2000, surrounded in love by her children at the Hospice Austin Christopher House in Austin, Texas.
She was born Jan. 14, 1920, to Vernon C. and Laura Marie Dollarhide in Wolbach, Neb. She attended Minot State Teachers College and taught in a country school in the early 1940s. She married Orville F. Miller on April 2, 1940, in Noonan, N.D.
After the sudden death of her husband in Billings in 1967, Vernadeen enrolled at Eastern Montana College and graduated in 1970 with a B.S. in elementary education with a minor in special education. She moved to Thermopolis to resume her teaching career. She taught special education and elementary education for 15 years before retiring in 1985.
She is survived by her five sons, Michael Vernon of Urbana, Ill., Jerome Vincent of Fentress, Texas, Roland Reed of Midland, Mich., Daniel David of Superior, Colo., and Keith Bernard of Buda, Texas; and one daughter, Teresa Marie Bessette of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Gregory Allen, Kelly Lynn, Jeffrey Scott, Zachary David, Jessica Leigh, Nicholas Michael, Dylan Kendrick, and Dallas David, as well as two great-grandchildren, Monica Marie and Kyle David.
She was preceded in death by her brother Arnold who was killed in action an 1945 during World War II, her beloved husband Orville in 1967, her father in 1985 and her mother in 1993.
A rosary and prayer service will be held at Mortimore Funeral Home in Thermopolis on Monday, May 1, at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 2, at 10 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church in Thermopolis, with rather Michael Ehiemere presiding. Internment will be Wednesday, May 3, at Holy Cross cemetery, in Billings next to her husband. Memorials may be made to Hospice Austin, 2820 K. Martin Luther King Boulevard, Austin, TX, 78702.
Mortimore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Oscar C. Moen
Oscar C. Moen passed away Thursday afternoon, April 27, 2000, at his home. He had lived for 80 years.
Oscar was born in Sidney, on Feb. 28, 1920, one of 11 children born to Ole and Marie (Sund) Moen. He received his education in Lambert, re-maining in the area and working on the family farm until September 1940 when he enlisted in the Army.
He was discharged in January 1942 and on June 12, 1944, Oscar married Vivian L. Cline in Miles City. Together they moved to the Seattle-Tacoma area where they resided for a year before returning to Billings. Over the next 25 years, Oscar worked construction, moving with the work back to Washington and on to Oxnard, Calif., before returning to Billings in 1971. He owned his construction company, Custom Homes by Oscar, and later a building specialty store, Builders Products, prior to his retirement in 1985.
Oscar was a patient, loving father who enjoyed the company of family and friends. Always available to help, he happily and unselfishly shared the construction skills he learned over the years with anyone who needed assistance. He “smiled with his eyes” and had a joke for any situation.
Oscar was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Heights VFW, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.
Survivors include three sons, Darrel (Diane) and Dwight (Lisa) of Billings, and Dennis (Athena) of Wichita, Kan.; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Esther Smith and Olga Mollerstuen; and one brother, Carl Moen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, in 1994, three brothers, Arnold, Gilman and Roy, four sisters, Mabel, Lelia, Signa and Evelyn, and his parents.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 1 at the Smith Downtown Chapel with private inurnment at Terrace Gardens cemetery at a later date. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Myron ‘Whitey’ Ophus
HAVRE – Myron H. “Whitey” Ophus, 72, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at his home due to cancer.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, in the Van Orsdel United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors will follow at 4 p.m. in the Big Sandy cemetery. Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook is in charge.

Mary B. Ray
BIG TIMBER – Mary B. Ray, 61, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Pioneer Medical Center.
Viewing will be Sunday from 1-9 p.m. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, at Lowry Funeral Home.

James W. Vicars Jr.
LIVINGSTON – James W. Vicars Jr., 88, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at the Livingston Health and Rehab Center.
Vigil services will be 5 p.m. Monday, May 1, and Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, both at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Cremation will follow at Franzen-Davis Crematory. Graveside committal and interment will take place at a later time in Calvary cemetery. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston is in charge.

Floyd E. Webber
FRANNIE, Wyo. – Floyd E. Webber, 89, of Frannie, died April 26, 2000, at the New Horizons Care Center in Lovell. He was born June 13, 1910, in Silver City, Iowa, the first child of Robert and Ida Webber. In 1917, his father homesteaded on the Frannie Division of the Shoshone Project.
Floyd attended grade and high school at Deaver, graduating in the class of 1930. He married Gertrude Beth Koelzer of Shell on April.6, 1957. In 1980, after 50 years of farming, Floyd retired. His favorite retirement past time was playing cribbage with his friends and winning many a cribbage tournament. Two of his cribbage partners and faithful friends, Marie Wambeke and Florence Mungall, visited him every Wednesday at the Care Center for an afternoon of cribbage. He enjoyed talking about his several trips back to Iowa to visit relatives. Floyd was interested in proper soil and water conservation management and served on the Big Horn County Soil and Water Conservation District
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, his sister, Wilma and his brother, Cecil. He is survived by his brother, Ray.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, at the Deaver United Methodist Church, Rev. Patricia Greffey officiating. Burial follows at Deaver cemetery.
Haskell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rushmore Hall
BAKER - Rushmore Hall, 84, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at the Holy Rosary Health Care Center in Miles City.
Vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, in the Stevenson's Funeral Home in Baker. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, in the St. John's Catholic Church. Interment will be in the St. John's Catholic cemetery.

Lucille Marjory Allread
CIRCLE – Lucille Marjory Allread, 93, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at the McCone County Nursing Home.
Interment will be held at the Tacoma cemetery in Tacoma, Wash. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge.

Margaret Elaine Cooley
BROADUS – Margaret Elaine Cooley, 88, died Monday, April 24, 2000, at the Powder River Manor.
Family graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Valley View cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.
