WIBAUX - Virginia Ellen Novotny, age 79, of Wibaux, formerly of Beach, N.D., died in Dickinson, N.D., on Tuesday, March 7, 2000.
Memorials services will be held Tuesday, March 14, at 2:30 p.m., at the First Lutheran Church in Beach. Interment will follow at the Beach Lutheran cemetery. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach is entrusted with arrangements.
Frances Purvis
CODY - Frances Purvis, age 99, passed away Friday, March 10, 2000, at West Park Hospital in Cody as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, and from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, March 16, at Ballard Funeral Home in Cody. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, at Ballard's with interment following in Bull Creek cemetery.
Ronald Kelly Sanders, Sr.
SIDNEY - Ronald Kelly Sanders, Sr., 62, of Sidney, Mont., died Friday, March 10, 2000, at his home after a recent diagnosis of cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 13, at the Lonsdale United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Sidney cemetery under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home.
Jewell B. Scott
CODY, Wyo. - Jewell B. Scott, age 87, of Cody, formerly of Greybull, passed away at the West Park Long Term Care Center on Saturday, March 11, 2000.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, at the First Baptist Church in Greybull. Burial will follow in Hillside cemetery.
Fudge Stelmachuk
Fudge Stelmachuk, 76, a Billings resident, passed away March 9, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital, after a tough baffle with cancer. Fudge was born January 3, 1924, in Fallon County, the daughter of Jacob and Lydia (Waller) Koschel.
Just like Fudge, her birth was truly original; she was delivered into the hands of her father in the back of the family car. The family moved from Plevna to east of Billings, where they farmed and Fudge attended Pioneer School. She served in the military, becoming one of the first female paratroopers to serve in the Armed Forces.
After some time working in the food department at Newberry's Department Store, she began her 25-year career in the cafeteria at EMC (now MSU-B), where she enjoyed the interaction with students and was well liked by co-workers.
Fudge loved baseball, especially the Billings Mustangs. She served as the President of the Mustangs fan club for one year, and always led the "Get A Hit" cheer. An avid bowler, she spent many years on the Tiny's Tavern Team. Any spare time was spent crocheting and playing cards. She attended First Congregational Church, and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
She is survived in death by her husband, Michael; her loving daughters, Barbara (Pete) Fiederl of Seattle, Peggy (Steve) Alger of Billings, and Shirley Stelmachuk of Billings; a nephew, Joey Stelmachuk, who Fudge and Mike raised as their own; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her sisters, Edna Rials of New Orleans, Ann Travis of California, and Delores Oliveri of California, and brother Fred Koschel of Billings. Other survivors include her best friend and her poodle, Arnie.
Preceding her in death was her loving daughter, Sheri Janzen of Billings; her brothers, Art and Ted and sister, Irene.
Viewing will be at Smiths downtown chapel Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and again at the Church until services start. Services will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, March 13 at First Congregational United Church of Christ. Cremation will follow. Smiths downtown chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials to Mustang Fan Club, in care of Dean Fuller, 2111 24th St. West, or the American Cancer Society.
Kenneth A. 'Shorty' Wall
ROUNDUP - Kenneth A. "Shorty" Wall, 72, died March 9, 2000, of natural causes in Roundup.
Shorty was born March 15, 1927, in Roundup to Arthur and Blanche Mayme Branan Wall. He attended schools in Roundup and Billings, graduating from Billings Senior in 1945. While in school, he worked at the Meadow Gold Creamery in Billings. After graduation, Shorty served in the Navy until his honorable discharge in August, 1946.
After working at various jobs, Shorty settled in the Roundup area. He worked as a rig hand on water well drilling rigs and for "C" Brewer, Inc., for over 20 years until his retirement in the late 1980s.
Shorty is preceded in death by his parents and step-mother Nettie Mullenax Scott.
He is survived by his sisters, Alice Hazard, Poynette, Wis., Vera Power, Scottsdale, Ariz., Jeanette Vigil, Riverton, Wyo., Illa Wyckoff, Billings; brother, Jim Scott, Cincinnati, Iowa, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shorty will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m., Monday, March 13, at Wier Funeral Chapel in Roundup.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, at Wier's. Interment with military honors at Roundup City cemetery. Wier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON - Estella Walls, 87, of Livingston, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at the Livingston Health and Rehab Center.
Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory and no services are planned. Interment of the cremated remains will be in Mountain View cemetery.

CIRCLE - Regina Wangsness, age 81, of Circle, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2000, at the McCone County Nursing Home.

MOORE - Arthur C. Wichman, 79, of Moore, died Friday morning, March 10, 2000, at his home of natural causes.
Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, March 13, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lewistown. Funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, at the church. Burial will be at Moore cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Central Montana Medical Center Home Oxygen, 629 NE Main, Lewistown, the Moore cemetery Association or the charity of donor's choice. Louise Kingfisher Big Head
'Mink Woman'
October 2, 1921 to March 8, 2000
BUSBY - Passed over to the glory land to join her many loved ones on March 8, 2000, Louise was born in the Busby/Kirby area on Oct. 2, 1921, to James Kingfisher and Minnie Two Birds. She married
Bill Big Head of Lame Deer in 1950. They had two children, Bill, Jr., and Ardis Kay; one adopted son; several brothers and sisters, and four grandchildren who preceded her in death. Louise is survived by her sisters, Virginia Russell of Miles City, and Martha Wolfname of Busby; one daughter, Cordelia (Dave) Boushie of Muddy Cluster; two sons, Raymond (Gil/Juanita) Kingfisher of Kansas and Lame Deer and Quintin (Shari) Kingfisher of Billings and one adopted son Dennis Sun Rhodes of Minneapolis. In addition to her surviving children, Louise was greatly blessed by her 11 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
Mom/Grandma, we will rejoice in your passing over to the Glory Land, where there is no more paid, no more tears, being in a place where the streets are paved with gold and the roses never fade. We will all come to meet you again in the City of Gold, the New Jerusalem. Your loving family, friends and relatives.
The wake service will be held at the Lame Deer Social Room on Sunday evening at 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lame Deer at 11 a.m., Monday, March 13, with burial to follow at the Busby cemetery. Mr. Fred Rausen will be conducting arrangements.

Vivian Lorraine Barker Glenney
ROUNDUP - On Wednesday, March 8, 2000, Vivian Lorraine Barker Glenney, our mother, grandmother and sister was welcomed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. She was born Feb. 17, 1915, the oldest of 12 children to Delilah and Joseph Barker. She grew up in Ryegate where she excelled in high school sports being an outstanding basketball player and holding the school record for longest baseball throw
Vivian met her handsome cowboy Julian F. "Speed" Glenney at a dance in Cushman, Mont. They were married
on Feb. 25, 1935, and were blessed with five children: Terry, Karen, Timothy, Sandra (Sandy), and Jackie. During their marriage, they lived throughout Montana, raising their children primarily in Roundup. After the children left home, they settled in Lavina, where Vivian took on the responsibility of getting area students to the Lavina school as bus driver. She retired in 1987 and moved back to Roundup in 1990, where she lived until her death.
Vivian was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family. She especially loved the game of golf and playing at the Roundup course, whenever possible.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian in 1977; her parents; son, Timothy; sisters. Gladys DeVoe, Edna Fraser Story, Wilma Hogan, and brothers Bruce, Ellis Marion (Bub), David, and Earl.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Janet) Glenney, Roundup; Karen (Jim) Langsather, Broomfleld, Colo.; Sandy (Buzz or Emmett) Sysum, Roundup; and Jackie (Rick) Watkins, Sedalia Colo.; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella Loga and Phyllis (Don) Wertz, Lavina; Delores Swartz and Faye Badgett, Broadview; sisters-in-law, Arlene Barker, Salem, Ore.; and Joan Barker Jackson, Fishtail; brothers-in-law, Norman DeVoe, Billings; and Don Wertz, Lavina; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Wier's Funeral Home in Roundup. Vigil Service will be held at St. Benedict's Catholic Church on Sunday, March 12 at 7 p.m. in Roundup. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, March 13, at 10a.m., St. Benedict's Catholic Church. Burial in the Lavina cemetery following Mass.
John A. 'Jack' Howell
DENVER - John A. "Jack" Howell, 88, of Denver and formerly of Worland and Story, Wyo., died on March 7, 2000, in Denver.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Worland at a later date. Veile Mortuary of Worland was in charge.
Lloyd L. Lachenmeier
HARDIN - Lloyd L. Lachenmeier, 71, of Hardin passed away Thursday, March 9, 2000, in the Billings St. Vincent's Hospital.
He was born Dec. 16, 1928, in Napoleon, N.D., a son of Jake and Magadelina Flemmer Lachenmeier. At the age of six, he moved with his parents to a farm near Hardin. He attended schools at the North Valley Community School and later in Hardin. Following his education, he worked on the family farm.
Lloyd married
Arlene Pitt on Aug. 27, 1954, in Columbus, and the couple lived on the family farm south of Hardin until moving into Hardin in 1979. Lloyd began work for the Graham Staunton car dealership in the service department in 1966, later managed the station, and finally transferred into the shop, before his retirement in 1993. He was known as a very loyal, honest and hard working person,
He loved to bowl, garden and attended all of his grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene of Hardin; one daughter, Toni (Vaughn) Steere of Kansas; one son, Michael (Karen) Lachenmeier of Hardin; three step-daughters, Terry (Dave) Barber of Wisconsin, Christine Kendall of New York, and Stephanie (Ron) Crum of Hysham; one stepson, David (Jane) Herman of Tennessee; two sisters, Bea (Bob) Boeckel of Texas and Vi (Sivert) Salveson of Billings; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fairview cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

LIVINGSTON - Edgar Miller, 76, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at the Mountain View Care Center in Bozeman.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at Mountain View cemetery in Livingston. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge.

RANCHESTER, Wyo. - Carl William Patterson, 68, died on Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at the Deaconess Hospital in Billings.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, at the Elk's Club in Sheridan. Smith's West Chapel is in charge.
Frank Polsak
Frank Polsak, 92, died March 8, 2000, of natural causes.
Frank lived in Roundup for many years where he raised his son, Frank T., who preceded him in death. He worked in the area for many years as an electrician. Frank and Leona have lived in Billings since 1964.
He is survived by his wife, Leona; her daughter and husband, Truie and Larry Brakovec; his daughter-in-law, JoAnn Polsak; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a private service is planned in the future.
