SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Alex Lackman, 86, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at Memorial Hospital.
Cremation has taken place and private family interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the Elks cemetery. Kane Funeral Home is in charge. FARGO, N.D. - Verna Isabel Dillabough, 78, formerly of Scobey, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Villa Maria.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held in Mowbray, Manitoba.
Florence M. (Farrow) Neville
BUTTE - Florence M. (Farrow) Neville, 102, formerly of Livingston, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at the Butte Convalescent Center.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, 118 N. Third Street in Livingston. Interment will follow in Mountain View cemetery.
Dorothy Lucille Sevesind
MILES CITY - Dorothy Lucille Sevesind, 83, died on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at the Friendship Villa Care Center.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date.
Emily Louise Fasulo
Emily Louise Fasulo, 94, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Eagle Cliff Manor. She will be sadly missed by her five sons and daughters, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Mervin Leroy Rost
BAKER - Mervin Leroy Rost, 72, of Baker, formerly of the Ismay area, passed away on Friday, Feb. 1, 2000, at the Billings Deaconess Hospital. He was born on Feb. 11, 1928, the son of Norman and Bertha Carter Rost 3 1/4 miles south of Ollie on his grandfather's homestead. He attended the Ollie Country School. Mervin enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Jan. 26, 1946, and served until May of 1947. He returned to Montana and was married
in 1954. Mervin worked at the K. Bark Ranch near Avon, Mont., the Froze to Death Grazing District and the Benny Binion Ranch as well as various others. He was divorced in 1963. He remarried
in 1968 and moved to Alaska, where he worked in hunting camps as a horse wrangler, packer and guide. Upon returning to Montana, he purchased the Locate Property at the Powder River. He sold this place in 1995 and moved to the Boulware Ranch, which he managed until 1998 when he moved into Baker due to failing health.
Mervin was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Miles City, an honorary member of the Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, past member of the M.R.C.A. and a member of the Range Riders Inc. of Miles City. Mervin enjoyed working with livestock, especially breaking horses. He also enjoyed hunting and had a deep love and bond for his dogs, the English shepherd. His last six years were shared with a very special friend, Audrey.
Survivors include his special friend, Audrey of Baker; three sisters, Rosie Norman and her husband, Tom of Livingston, Alice Bandy and her husband, Vern of Bozeman and Reva Schye and her husband, Gary of Miles City.
His parents, a brother, M.R. "Tubby" Rost and a sister, Irene Smelcer preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 15 at 10 a.m. in the Stevenson's Funeral Home in Baker with Frances Madler officiating.
Harold Henry Thiel
DENVER, Colo. - Harold Henry Thiel, 83, formerly of Billings, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000.
He was born July 24, 1916, in Red Lodge, Mont., the second son of Charles and Maude Augusta (Sherrow) Thiel. On May 27, 1950, he married
Irene A. Malcom in Miles City, Mont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles of Midford, Ore., and his sister, Lois Harrison of Crestline, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; a daughter Carol; a son, Howard; two granddaughters; his brothers, James H. Thiel of Westpoint, Tenn., and Arthur Thiel of Billings, Mont.; his sisters, Marvel Braziel of Santa Fe, N.M., Midge (William) Guernsey of Belen, N.M., and Lucille (Harley) O'Donnell of Billings, Mont.
Graveside services were held at Fort Logan National cemetery in Denver, Colo., on Feb. 8.
Rudolph 'Rudy' Johnson
PLENTYWOOD - Rudolph "Rudy" Johnson, 82, died Friday morning, Feb. 11, 2000, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Plentywood.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Plentywood Lutheran Chuch. Interment will be in Plentywood cemetery. Fulkerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Glenna Mae Holm
ROSEBUD - Glenna Mae Holm, 59, died Saturday Feb. 12, 2000, at her home in Rosebud.
Glenna Mae was born May 1, 1940, in Valley City, N.D., the daughter of Ralph and Myrtle Faust Zaun. She grew up and attended schools in Valley City, graduating from Valley City High School in 1958. Glenna Mae attended Valley City State College, graduating in 1961, with a degree in education.
On Feb. 24, 1962, Glenna Mae married
Gary Holm in Moses Lake, Wash. Glenna Mae taught school at Moses Lake, later living in North Dakota, Minnesota, and moving to Montana in 1968, where she taught at Box Elder from 1972-1981. Glenna Mae and Gary bought the Longhorn Bar and Steak House in Rosebud in 1981, where they have continued to manage the business together since.
Glenna Mae was a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeder's Association. She enjoyed her horses and Frankie the cat. Glenna Mae also enjoyed sewing and creating. She had a special love for her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Gary of Rosebud; two daughter's, Michelle Firkins and her husband Austin of Inkom, Idaho, Leslie Holm of Henderson, Nev.; her sister Janna Rae Zaun of Valley City, N.D.; grandchildren, Allison, Amanda, and Carrie; and great grandchild Janae', as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Glenna Mae was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Dianna Kay.
A private family funeral mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Forsyth. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with cremation to follow. Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Oscar Haga
Oscar Gerhard Haga, 87, of Billings, and formerly of Velva, ND, passed away Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at the Eagle Cliff Manor Nursing Home where he had been a resident for the past four months.
Oscar was born August 3, 1912 in Bergen, N.D., the son of Carl and Almanda Haga. He was the youngest of seven children.
On July 30, 1943, he married
Delores Hohman, while he was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco, Calif. After WWII they returned to North Dakota where he worked for the Westland Oil Company until his retirement. Eight years ago they moved to Billings.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Delores; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Karl Haga of Bismarck, N.D.; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Darrell Rud of Billings; four grandchildren, Mike Haga and his wife, Marlowe of Evergreen, Colo.; Matthew Gonzales and his wife Terilyn, of Canyon, Texas; Melissa Gonzales of Billings; and Jason Rud of Billings; two great-grandchildren. Tyler and Dylan Haga of Evergreen, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Gladys Haga of Minot; one brother-in-law, Ray Bell of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; and many nieces and nephews.
"God has given you back your sight and hearing, Dad, I know you are smiling."
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Atonement Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to the Billings Food Bank. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.
Carl Burns
HARDIN - Carl Russell Burns, 65, of Hardin, formerly of Lodge Grass, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, in the Big Horn County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 25, 1935 in Sheridan, Wyo., a son of George H. and Helen Foss Burns. He grew up and received his education in the Sheridan area. Following his education he worked for area ranches, before moving to Indianapolis returning to Montana in 1982.
Carl worked for the Murry Brown Ranch, Town of Lodge Grass, Clara Knight and the Eagle Cable Vision. Illness forced an early retirement and he moved to Hardin.
As a final request, Carl asked that all of his friends have a "Cold One" in his memory.
Survivors include two sisters Marguerite "Chicki" Hill and her husband, Jeff Lyman of Hardin and Ruth and her husband Gene Overturf of Idaho; two brothers, Lloyd (Lori) Clarkson of Alaska and Stanley (Sharon) Clarkson of Sheridan, Wyo.; his nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Jeanette, Steve and Buddy; his special friends, Ken Johnson, Duke Rondeau and Billy Daychild; his beloved dog, Maybelline and numerous aunts, uncles and many other special friends.
Cremation has taken place in the Bullis Eastern Montana Crematory. Memorial services will follow at a later date. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to the Northern Rockies Cancer Treatment Center or the Big Horn County Library.
Ruth Catholeen Nelson
Ruth Catholeen Nelson passed away on Feb. 6, 2000, in Camarillo, Calif., of cancer.
She was born on Jan. 19. 1912. to Andrew and Helga Lunde in Mandan, N.D. As a child her family lived in Czar, Alberta, Maples. Idaho, and finally settled in Glendive, where her father worked for Northern Pacific Railroad. She was a graduate of Dawson County High School.
On Sept. 13, 1930, she married
Earl Nelson in Glendive, and they farmed at the family homestead in Lindsey. In 1938, the family moved to Forsyth where Mr. Nelson owned and operated a gas station. They then moved to Billings in 1941 where she has remained.
Mrs. Nelson was a lifelong homemaker who most enjoyed taking care of her family. She has been a member of the American Lutheran Church since moving to Billings. In addition to being an active member of church groups, she was an election judge for many years and a member of the Sons of Norway.
Survivors include her daughter. Sharon (Don) Pryor of Westlake Village, Calif.; a son Jim of the family home; a sister, Margaret Bergren of Billings; a brother, Norman Lunde of Glendive; seven grandchildren. Jeff (Sharene) Nelson, Shelby and Sydne Nelson, Cathie Oliver, Christi Ferrin, Cherie (Scott) Ash, and Sharyl (Bill) Abbott; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, John, her daughter, Loretta MacMillan, a grandson, Greg MacMillan, her brothers, Lloyd Lunde, and her husband of 57 years, Earl, in 1988.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at American Lutheran Church. 5 Lewis Ave. with interment following at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery. Paul Walter, Sr.
LODGE GRASS - Beloved father and grandfather, Paul Walter, Sr., 75, of the 40 mile Ranch near Lodge Grass, passed away surrounded by his family at the Big Horn County Memorial Hospital in Hardin on Feb. 12, 2000.
He is survived by three sons and six daughters, Fred and Kathy of the family home, Danny of Shepherd, Paul (Elizabeth) Walter, Jr. of Ballantine, Becky (Ken) Stahl of Roundup, Rachel (Ben) Hofer of Harlem, Judy (Glenn) Stahl of Shepherd, Anna Rose (Joe) Walter of Lewistown, Ruth (Tony) Stahl of Shepherd and 20 grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers and five sisters.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife Mary, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at the 40 Mile Ranch near Lodge Grass. Interment will follow in the Family cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Eugene "Tweet" Bunch
THERMOPOLIS - Eugene "Tweet" Bunch, 81, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 at Mortimore Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Monument Hill cemetery.

BUSBY - Kenneth Two Moons, 41, died Wednesday Feb. 9, 2000, near his home.
Wake services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at White River Mennonite Church in Busby. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at White River Mennonite Church. Burial will be held at the family ranch 5 miles east of Busby. Rausch Funeral Home of Lame Deer is in charge of arrangements.
Lena P. Capwell
MILES CITY - Lena P. Capwell, age 90, of Miles City, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at the Friendship Villa Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County cemetery.
Evalyn Billings Carson
SANFORD, N.C. - Evalyn Billings Carson, born Sept. 11, 1911, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000.
She was the daughter of the late John Grover Billings and Lena Taylor Billings of Alleghaney Co., N.C.
Mrs. Carson is survived by one daughter, Ann Billings Perry of Sanford; one sister, Mabel Billings Combs of Chatham, Va.; two granddaughters, and five great grandchildren.
She was a pioneer woman in the law, and a member of the Montana and North Carolina Bar Associations. She practiced law in Montana from 1965 until 1982. She semi-retired to her home in Mooresville where she practiced law until shortly before her death.
In Montana, she was elected by the Crow Indian Nation for a term as judge in October of 1972 and served until May of 1974. From 1968 until 1971, she was the only woman prosecuting attorney in the state of Montana.
In 1970, she was the first woman to run for the office of judge for the 13th Judicial District, encompassing the counties of Yellowstone, Carbon, Treasure, Stillwater and Big Horn, Montana. She was primarily a plaintiff's lawyer, most widely known throughout out the state of Montana for winning the Tschirgi case, which had been in the courts of Montana for ten years prior to her taking the case for Clara Tachirgi Thomas in 1971.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 14 at the Buffalo cemetery in Sanford by Rev. Tom Loftis and Rev. Judy Drye.
