Mariette Bauwens
FROMBERG - Mariette Bauwens, 78, of Fromberg, passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Edgewood Vista in Billings, where she has resided since May of this year.
She was born in Woubrechte-gem, Belgium a daughter of Jozef and Angelique DeCoster. She served with the resistance movement during WWII, rescuing and harboring many American soldiers in her attic After the war, she was a successful business woman in the textile industry. In 1953, she built a factory employing up to 150 housewives. She met Laurence Bauwens in 1957, and they were married
Jan. 23, 1958. They moved to Fromberg in 1959 where she was a farm wife. She enjoyed the farm life and loved to go dancing with her family and friends.
Mariette was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence and stepsons, Albert and Roger Bauwens both of Fromberg.
She is survived by her sons, Marc Lievens of Billings; Dirk (Cathy) Bauwens of Fromberg; two stepsons, Morris (Jodi) Bauwens, Louie (Maris) Bauwens both of Fromberg; daughter, Rita Bowman of Denver, Colo.; stepdaughter, Mary Louise Tucker of Bridger; eight grandchildren: Brigette Lievens, Derek Lievens, Eric Lievens, Mark Bowman, Eric Bowman, Jennifer Bowman, Nichole Bauwens. Geoffrey Bauwens and 20 step grandchildren.

A vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fromberg. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment in Rockvale cemetery. Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel is in charge of arrangements. Stanley L. Urdahl
HOMESTEAD - Stanley L. Urdahl, 77, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, in the Roosevelt Memorial Medical Center nursing home in Culbertson
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at the First Lutheran Church of Homestead. Interment will be in the Big Lake cemetery. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood is in charge.
Anna Gard
BELFRY - Anna Gard, 79, of Belfry, died Monday afternoon, Dec. 13, 1999, of natural causes in her home.
She was born on Feb, 9, 1920, in Loveland, Colo., a daughter of George and Christina Weickum. Anna was raised and went to school in Colorado.
On Jan. 20, 1939, she married
Oscar (Pete) Gard in Boulder, Colo. They came to Belfry in Oct. of 1941, and moved to Powell in 1950 and to Cody in 1963. After retiring, they returned to Belfry in 1982.
Anna worked as a cook at various places, and she enjoyed fishing, rock hunting, gardening and crocheting. She attended the Belfry United Methodist Church, and while in Cody belonged to the Good Neighbors Home Club.
Survivors include her husband. Pete Gard of Belfry; one daughter, Carol Lee Gard of Peoria, Ill.; and four sisters, Bertha Pepmeyer and Clara Horst, both of Denver, Colo., Ruth Horst of Johnstown, Colo., and Esther Prior of Merced, Calif.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, George and Victor; and three sisters, Ramona, Elsie and Nathalia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, in the Olcott Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge. Cremation will follow, with interment at a later date in the Belfry cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, 2812 First Ave. N., Billings, MT 59101.
Martha C. Raina
ROUNDUP - Martha C. Raina, 81 of Roundup, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at the Roundup Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of Arne and Martha Hanson, she was born Jan. 19, 1918, in Bear River, Minn. She was raised on the family dairy farm. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and yard work.
Her husband, Jack Raina, preceded her in death, Aug. 14, 1995. In December 1995, she moved to Roundup to be near her son.
Survivors include her son, Mike Scalise of Roundup, and three sisters, Violet Hanson, Nancy Eble and Ruby Owen.
Cremation has taken place. At Martha's request, no services are planned.
Michelotti, Sawyer & Nordquist had charge of arrangements.
Thomas L. Gasvoda
BASIN, Wyo. - Thomas L. Gasvoda died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at his home in Basin.
Visitations will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec 18. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Basin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, with interment following in the Mount View cemetery. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Big Sandy, Mont. Atwood Family Funeral Directors, Inc. is in charge.

BUFFALO, Wyo. - Norma Eddy, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999.
Private family interment will be held in Estes Park, Colo. by her family. Adams Funeral Home is in charge.
Evelyn M. Weasa
HOBSON - Evelyn M. Weasa, 88, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at the Central Montana Medical Center of natural causes.
Services will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. The Cloyd Funeral Home of Lewistown is in charge.
Alice Otilda Anderson
BEACH, N.D. - Alice Otilda Anderson, 95, died on Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, in Wilaux.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Beach. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, at the First Lutheran Church in Beach. Interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach is in charge.
Irene Elizabeth Ball
MILES CITY - Irene Elizabeth Ball, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, in the family lot in the Custer County cemetery. Friends and family will meet at the funeral home at 2 p.m. and proceed to the cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge.
Della Ruth Moline
BAKER - Della Ruth Moline, 93, of Baker, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. She was born on Aug. 29, 1906, the daughter of Lewis F. and Augusta Holstanski Kirchan in Davenport, Wash. Survivors include: a son, Dr. L.M. Moline of Glendive; a son-in-law, John Lizer of Baker; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two daughters preceded Della in death: Bobbie Lou Lizer and Betty Ruth Peters.
Della requested that no services be held. Her cremains will be buried in the family lot of the Bonnievale cemetery in Baker. Stevenson's Funeral Home of Baker is in charge of the arrangements.
Helen Meldrum
BUFFALO, Wyo. - Helen Meldrum, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at the Johnson County Health Care Center.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, from St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Interment will be in Willow Grove cemetery. Adams Funeral Home is in charge.
Cecilia Merrie Peyton
GILLETTE, Wyo. - Cecilia Merrie Peyton, 92, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at her home.
Graveside memorial and inurnment will be held 2 p.m. Friday, at Mount Pisgah cemetery in Gillette. Cremation or Funeral Gallery was in charge.
Frank Sticka
Frank Sticka, 76, quietly passed away in his sleep early Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Parkview Care Center. He fought a courageous battle after sustaining a severe head injury on May 29, 1992.
Born in Saint Pius, N. D. on March 22, 1923 the son of Jacob and Rosa (Heidt) Sticka. He was raised on the family farm until they moved to Sidney, Mont. Frank entered the U.S. Army on Feb. 9, 1944 along with his two brothers Louie and Joe. The three of them were shipped out to the territory Hawaii. Frank received the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. Frank served with the 972nd Signal Service Battalion as a Sergeant. He was a motor non commissioned officer supervising and directing the activities and operations of twenty personnel, including drivers and operating heavy, light and various other military vehicles. Set up, executed and maintained schedules, routing and the assignment of drivers to vehicles, including the transportation of special equipment. Responsible for the proper handling and hauling of radar, radar equipment and all supplies and equipment for the signal corps operations. Frank received an honorable discharge on March 17, 1946 from Fort Lewis, Wash.
He met, his bride to be, May Mischel in Sidney and married
April 12, 1948. In 1954, after starting a family, they moved to Billings. With mobile home and family in tow, they moved from job to job, state to state, while working in the construction field with Holland Construction. R. J, Studer and Sons, Prince Inc., and Mike Holland. He built roads and dams all over Mont., Wyo., Wash., Idaho and mined gold in Alaska. In 1976 Frank and May bought a farm on the Clarks Fork River. Mom and Dad raised farm animals and pets until her death.
Frank married
Kathern A. Webb. Survivors include his four sons and their wives, Gordon and his wife, Rita; Miles and his wife, Mary (PeeWee), all of Billings; Jerry and his wife, Sandy of Belfry; Gerard and his wife, Evelyn, of Boulder City, Nevada; four daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Anton Kydland of Billings; Darlene and Marvin Stephens of Big Timber; Marlene and Mike Walter of Billings; and Kim and Ed Evanson of Billings;. Also thirty grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; brother Joseph and his wife Katie; sisters Rose and Francis Boyer, Monica and Don Zoanni, all of Sidney; Joan Ostrum of Fort Shaw; sister-in-laws Leona Sticks of Billings; Delores (Sticka) Soelter of Dolensprings, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; sisters, Theresa (Mike) Bosch, Emma, Betty (Bob) Gonzales, Baida (Joe) Heiser; and an infant sister at birth; brothers, John (Margaret), Louis and Jack.
He loved fishing, playing cards and telling his funny stories. Dad will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Keep that big smile of yours no matter where you go.
Cremation has taken place. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Smith's Funeral Chapel Downtown. Memorial service will be held at 10 a. m Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Smith's Funeral Chapel Downtown. Interment of ashes will follow services at Holy Cross cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
Kelly G. Pereau
Kelly G. Pereau, 31, of Billings, died at his home on Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, of an accidental gunshot wound. He was born July 20, 1968, the son of John and Arliss Peterson Pereau. Kelly graduated from high school in Colstrip and has worked various jobs since then.
He married
Le Annda Beckman and they were later divorced.
Survivors include his parents; three daughters, Misty, Teir and Brandi; one sister, Karen Pereau; a brother, Jon; one niece, Gabrielle; and a nephew, Chase; five aunts, four uncles, and numerous cousins.
Kelly loved his daughters and his special niece and nephew, family and cooking, especially his hot chili and working at his many jobs. He loved music and his friends and was always very generous.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Cremation or Funeral Gallery, 8th St. W. and St. Johns Ave. Arrangements were made by Cremation Funeral Gallery.
Milton Richard 'Dick' Delaney
GRASS RANGE - Milton Richard "Dick" Delaney, 72, of Grass Range, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.
Dick was born on June 5, 1927, at Grass Range to Michael Robert and Gunilda (Riese) Delaney. He attended rural schools, graduating from Winnett High School in 1944. He served in the Navy.
On Nov. 19, 1950, he was united in marriage to Georgia Dupea in Lewistown. They have ranched northeast of Grass Range ever since. Dick was a member of 4-H Horse Club, Rodeo Club, Harness Club and numerous others. He enjoyed family, friends, ranching and horses.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia of Grass Range; one daughter, Jane (Dave) Calvert of Broadus; and one son, Joe (Barbara) Delaney of Grass Range. In addition, he is survived by one sister, Mary (Arthur) Allison of Lewistown; and five grandchildren: Randy and Jennifer Nunn and their children, Chase and Jada of Winnett; Cal and Megan Nunn of Winnett; Justin and Sharoan Delaney and their son, Dawson of Grass Range; Tacoma and T.J. Lynn and their son, Tyson of Grass Range; and Tobi Delaney of Grass Range. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Graveside services for Milton Richard "Dick" Delaney will be held at the Delaney Ranch at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 17. Memorials may be designated to the Central Montana High School Rodeo Club Creel Funeral Home of Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
