DENTON - Arthur R. Allen, 72, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at the Central Montana Medical Center of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, in Hillcrest cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home of Lewistown is in charge.

Lois Vandeberg Erickson
HAVRE - Lois Vandeberg Erickson, 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at a Havre Hospital of natural causes. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel. Vigil Service will be held 7 p.m. Friday at the St. Jude Catholic Church. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland cemetery. Memorials in Lois' honor may be made to St. Jude School Alumni Association, Havre Senior Center, or person's choice.
Lois was born Sept. 11, 1923, in Havre to Leonard and Lena (Bundus) Vandeberg. She attended schools in St. Jude and Havre High School. She worked at the Sacred Heart Hospital kitchen and laundry, and the Havre Laundry. In October 1940 she began work with Buttrey Foods in the meat locker plant. She worked her way up to manager of the processing plant in Havre, and worked for Buttrey until her retirement in 1977. Lois was the director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Hill County from 1977-1988 when she retired from RSVP.
Lois married Edwin Erickson in 1974 in Missoula; they resided in Havre.
She enjoyed fishing, camping at Tiber Reservoir, entertaining her family and friends, and cooking. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and the St. Jude Parish.
preceded in death by her parents; husband 1998; brothers, Walter and Alfred Vandeberg; and sister, Alice Bunton.
Survivors include son, Steve Vandeberg, Plainfield, N.J.; stepson, Don Erickson, Elk Grove, Calif.; brothers, Don Vandeberg, Hayden Lake, Idaho, and Elvin Vandeberg of Tacoma, Wash.; sisters: Mary Ann Ness, Kalispell; Vivian Sullins, Jackson, Miss.; Charlotte Hertsgaard of Havre; Rosella Gonder of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; Sharon Bennett of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Shirley Nelson of Bellevue, Wash.; three step-granddaughters, one step-grandson, and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Fabian Azure
BELCOURT, N.D. - Fabian Azure, 90, of Belcourt and formerly of Culbertson, Mont., died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Dunseith Community Nursing Home in Dunseith.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Nov. 2, at St. Ann's Catholic Church with interment in St. Ann's Catholic cemetery. The Keplin Funeral Home of Rolette was in charge.

Frieda Schmierer
SIDNEY - Funeral services for Frieda Schmierer, 81, Sidney, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at the Pella Lutheran Church in Sidney with Pastors Mark and Maryann Morgenstern officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview cemetery in Savage, under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.
Frieda was born on Nov. 13, 1917, in Otter Creek, N.D., to parents, John and Otillda (Herrmann) Reiner. Frieda lived in Otter Creek until 1929 when the family moved to Savage. They lived there until 1931, when they moved to Crane, but moved back to Savage in 1937. Frieda was united in marriage to Bill Schmierer on Sept. 10, 1939, in Savage. Their first home was north of Sidney, in the Ridgelawn Community, near his brother John and Father's farm, for 17 years. In 1956, they moved to their present home north of Crane. Bill died Sept. 21, 1984, in Sidney.
Frieda was an active member of the Pella Lutheran Church, Sidney, and the Montana Senior Citizens Association and the Savage Senior Citizens, which she took an active part in many capacities and they felt they were very fortunate to have such a caring and capable member. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose and Democratic Women.
Frieda died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at the Sidney Health Center, Sidney.
Frieda is survived by her three sons: Roger of Sidney, Leonard Schmierer and wife, Joan of Elizabeth, Colo., and Gordon Schmierer of Billings; a brother, Toby Reiner of Missoula; two sisters, Lillie Schmierer of Sidney and Evelyn Lewis of Glendive; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; an infant grandson; three brothers, Fred, Chris and Carl.

Doyce B. 'Woody' Woodiwiss
ROUNDUP - Woody Woodiwiss, 82, of Roundup, passed away on Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at the Homes on the Range in Roundup.
Woody was born July 19, 1917, in Radcliff, Iowa, the son of William Levi Woodiwiss and Hattie Grace (Eaton) Woodiwiss.
Woody was raised in an orphanage until he graduated from high school (St. Anscar) in 1935. He then worked for the Gardner Nursery with travels to Des Moines, Iowa. In 1940, he married Louise Gardner and was blessed a year later with a son, Charles. The service beckoned him in November of 1943. He served two terms overseas during World War II. He returned to his home base in Casper, Wyo., in March of 1946. Roseanne Mary Woodiwiss was born in 1949 after Woody and Louise moved back to Mason City, Iowa.
Woody left Iowa in 1956, traveling about working on construction. He divorced Louise in 1958. In 1959 he ended up in Roy and married Ruth Kauth Wright. She had five daughters of her own, three were grown, but Woody and Ruth raised Carol and Elaine.
In 1969, Ruth and Woody moved to Winnett where he worked for Bob Coffee. In 1980, he lost his wife of 21 years. Soon after he moved to Roundup where he traveled back and forth working for John Pugrud. He fully retired and spent the remaining years at the Homes on the Range.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Jessie Johnson, Emma May Woodiwiss, Cora Fenfel and Florence Woodiwiss; and twin brothers: Irvin and Ivan Woodiwiss.
He is survived by his daughter, Rosanne Hauser of Mason City, Iowa; his son, Charles Woodiwiss, Mason City; his favorite niece, Corrine Bolz of Mason City; five stepdaughters, Esther Irish and Harriet Irish of Lewistown, June Larson of Billings, Elaine Goette of Stockett and Carol Martin of Roundup; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Woody will be held at the Lewistown Central Montana Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6.
Wier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

TrČ Keith Harrod
CODY, Wyo. - Celebration of Life for "Our Little Angel" TrČ Keith Harrod, born June 26, 1999. He went to be with our Father in Heaven, Nov. 1, 1999. Services will be held at Victory Fellowship Church in Cody on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 10:30 a.m. with burial in Meeteetse cemetery.
TrČ was born 14 weeks premature at the University Hospital in Denver. Our mighty man of God came to us weighing 1 pound and 1 ounce with a fighting spirit and a will to live. Throughout his time with us he overcame many struggles and triumphed. TrČ came home to Cody on Oct. 5 to be with his loving family. TrČ went to heaven to be with God after blessing all of our lives with his unbelievable courage and never-ending love and strength. His legacy will live forever. We thank God for our precious season with him, not in mourning but in celebration.
As a flower is beautiful and brings joy for a season, TrČ was a gift of love and brought great joy for a season and that season will never be forgotten.
TrČ is survived by his parents: Amber L. Jackson-Harrod and Marshal Harrod of Cody; grandparents: John and Sherry Jackson of Moab, Utah, John and Tracie Fernandez of Meeteetse, Barbara Harrod of Cheyenne, Ron and Cheryl Harrod of Douglass, Kan.; great-grandparents: Charles and Tina Kelling of Moab, Joan Jackson of Moab, Chuck and Darlene Hassen of Moab, Ardonna L. Parker of Douglass, Roger and Hope Fernandez of Powell, Keith Harrod of Hermitage, Ark., and Barbara Schwab of Haysville, Kan.; aunts and uncles: Justin and Naomi Jackson of Moab, Jason Jackson of Moab, Niccole and Ron Hall of Wichita, Kan., Justin McClintock of Atlanta, Kan., and Tim Shelton of Wichita.
Memorial Contributions should be sent to Wyoming Children's Trust Fund, Department of Family Services, Hathaway Building, 3rd floor, Cheyenne, Wyo. 82002.

Dorothy E. Twedt
WHITEFISH - Dorothy E. Twedt, 86, formerly of Glendive, died Oct. 21, 1999, at the North Valley Extended Care.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Chapel of the Dawson Memorial cemetery in Glendive. A celebration of her life with lunch will follow at the Zion Lutheran Church. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is in charge.

Max R. Tyler
MOORE - Max R. Tyler, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at the Central Montana Skilled Nursing Center in Lewistown of natural causes.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, in the Cloyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lewistown with interment in the Moore cemetery.

Peggy Ann Ellard
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Peggy Ann Ellard, 57, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at Westview Health Care Center.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date. Ferries Funeral Home was in charge.

Eunice M. Frere
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Eunice M. Frere, 92, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Sheridan Manor.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment will be in Alliance, Neb.

Harley H. Bonnet
FORSYTH - Harley H. Bonnet, 62, of Forsyth, formerly of Colstrip, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at his home in Forsyth following a courageous battle with cancer.
Harley was born Nov. 5, 1936, in McClusky, N.D., the son of Albert and Helen Dockter Bonnet. He attended Holmes Township country school through grade school and later attended McClusky High School, graduating in 1954. Harley attended Jamestown College and Minot State Teachers College before volunteering for draft in the U.S. Army in July 1955. He served two years at Fort Richie, Md., prior to his release from active duty. In 1957, Harley joined the Minot Police Department and in 1958 worked at the North Dakota State Penitentiary.
In 1961, Harley re-enlisted in the U.S. Army where he attended Military Police Academy. He graduated number 1 in his class of 267. Harley was assigned to the 118th Military Police Company in Fort Bragg, N.C. Harley completed Parachutist Jump School in July 1963. He was sent with his unit to the Dominican Republic and upon his return attended Officers Candidate School at Fort Lee, Va., graduating #1 in leadership and the top 10 percent of academic in his class of 76. He entered the Officers Petroleum Course in 1967 and was assigned to Germany upon the completion of his school. Harley was reassigned to Vietnam in 1968, joining the 173rd Airborne Rangers. Harley saw extensive combat duty, compiling numerous combat medals including the Bronze Star twice.
Harley was reassigned to Fort Carson, Colo., Company 4th S & T Battalion where he completed active military duty as a captain, later completing his military career with the Montana National Guard.
Harley married Dixie Davis in Colorado Springs, Colo. After completing his military service, Harley and Dixie owned several bonding companies in Golden, Colo.
In 1978, Harley attended Bismarck Power Plant College in Bismarck, N.D., graduating #2 in his class. They moved to Colstrip in 1979 where Harley worked for Montana Power Company as a journeyman steam plant operator for 18 years, retiring in 1997. Harley and Dixie moved to Forsyth in 1990, and have lived there since.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie of Forsyth; his mother, Helen Bonnet of Turtle Lake, N.D.; his brother, Al Bonnet of Clearbrook, Minn.; two daughters, Susan Morse and husband, Bill of Colstrip, Debra Baumann and husband, Steve of Reno, Nev., with their children, Zachary, Amanda and Jacob; two sons, Brian Bonnet and wife, Rose with sons, Nick, Jordan and Dustin, Tim Bonnet and wife, Debra with daughter, Miranda, all of West Fargo, N.D. Harley was preceded in death by his son, Robert and his father, Albert.
Prayer services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at the Beals Mortuary Chapel in Forsyth. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at the Forsyth Federated Church. Interment will follow in the Forsyth cemetery with Military Graveside Honors. Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is in charge of the arrangements.

Mildred Irene Chaffee
COLUMBUS - Mildred Irene Chaffee, 92, of Columbus, formerly of Rapelje, died at the Stillwater Community Hospital on Oct. 31, 1999.
She was born Dec. 7, 1906, in Maryfield, Saskatchewan, Canada, to James Elmer and Marion Montgomary Mennie.
They moved to the United States and resided in Rapelje for many years.
Mildred married L.C. "Bo" Chaffee and they continued to call Rapelje home.
They retired and moved to Columbus. After "Bo's" death, Mildred worked as a nurse at the hospital for over 30 years, loving her job.
She loved music, dancing and her travels all over the world.
After retirement, at 83 years old, she continued to live in Columbus. She moved to the retirement center at the Stillwater Community Hospital. This past year, Mildred received her 50-year pin from the order of the Eastern Star.
Mildred is survived by a son: Jim (Jo Ann) Chaffee of Grand Junction, Colo.; grandson, Jim Jr. (Debbie) Chaffee with their daughters, Haley and Lyndee; grandson, Gregg (Karen) Chaffee with children, Garret, Sara and Jeremy; granddaughter, Melanie (George) Anglin and their children, Clint, Melissa, and Jarred; one brother, Basil (Florence) Mennie; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mennie; and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, "Bo"; parents, James and Marion; sister, Mary Elizabeth; brother, Lester; and great-granddaughter, Kendra Lea.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel in Columbus. Interment to be in the Mountainview cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 4, from 12 to 5 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel.
Memorials may be made to: Stillwater Community Hospital, Box 959, Columbus, Mont. 59019.

Robert V. 'Bo' Cheadle
PLEASANTON, Calif. - Robert V. "Bo" Cheadle, a Pleasanton, resident, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 21. Bo was born on March 15, 1942, in Pasadena and was raised in Montana from the age of 3.
He did his undergraduate work at San Jose State University and received his master's degree in business from USC in 1971. He retired in June 1998 as a senior managing director and most senior retail analyst at Montgomery Securities in San Francisco.
He initiated Montgomery's entry into the motorsports industry and in 1998 was named one of the 25 most influential executives within that industry worldwide. Bo was currently serving as a consultant to three motorsports companies, and founding director of CornerHardwar.Com.
Bo is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Shari Wiemer of Los Angeles; three sons, Chad Cheadle of Pleasanton, Marshall Williams of Kings Beach, and Mark Williams and his wife, Lisa of Concord; mother Janet Sirrine of Billings, Mont.; brother, Lyle Cheadle of Killeen, Texas; and three grandchildren, Jake Wiemer and Alexandra and Melissa Williams.
Private family graveside services were held at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette. A celebration of Bo's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at the Blackhawk Auto Museum, 3700 Blackhawk Plaza Circle in Blackhawk, (925) 736-2277.
Donations may be made in Robert V. "Bo" Cheadle's name to the following children's charities: Air Systems Foundation Inc., 381 Stockton Ave., San Jose, Calif. 95125, or to The Brass Ring Society, 213 N. Washington, Snow Hill, Md. 21863.

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - C. Robert Clark, 80, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, in the Elks cemetery. Champion Funeral Home is in charge.
