During a peaceful sleep at his home early Sunday morning, James Taylor passed from this life into the presence of his Heavenly Father on Sept. 26. He was born on March 7, 1917, in Rosebud, to Milford and Lila Mae Taylor. The family moved to Ringling where he was raised and he attended elementary school and graduated from high school there. He later graduated from Western Montana College of Education in Dillon in 1936 and taught in rural schools for several years in Montana.
James married
Doris Glenn on Aug. 31, 1939, in Big Timber. They became the parents of twin daughters and one son. James worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad in Livingston for 12 years as a Boilermaker and Welder. In 1955, the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where James was employed with the Alaska Railroad until they returned to Montana in 1960. He then attended Montana State University in Bozeman where he graduated with honors with a degree in industrial arts.
He again taught school for awhile and later was employed at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory for 19 years as a Nuclear Health Physicist Specialist and the latter three years as a Nuclear Health Physicist Supervisor. He retired on March 1, 1982. During his retirement years, he and his wife, Doris, resided in communities near their children in Idaho and Montana. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening and doing crossword puzzles and interacting with family, friends and relatives.

While in Anchorage, he became active in the Church of the Open Door. It was at that time that he used his industrial arts skills by assisting in the building of dormitories and other buildings at the Victory Bible Camp Youth Center in the mountains of Alaska.
In recent years, he and his wife have been attending West Side Baptist Church in Billings and his home life included prayer, daily Bible reading and devotional study. As he grew in his Christian maturity, he became active in the spiritual support of his wife, his children and his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Their loss and grieving at this time is modified by knowing that he is in the presence of his Redeemer and loved ones who have preceded him to their eternal home in heaven.
