Gale Hansen, 67
06/21/1941 ~ 06/17/2009
On June 17, 2009, Vera “Gale” Hansen, 67, went home to be with her heavenly Father. She was surrounded by her family as she passed away in Community Hospital of Anaconda.
She was born June 21, 1941, in Anaconda, to George and Vera (Cromwell) Henderson. She was the youngest of six children.
Gale attended school in Anaconda and graduated from high school in 1959. At age 17, she graduated, got married, and moved to California all within one week. She married Ron Hansen May 31, 1959, at the Salvation Army Church in Anaconda. They had just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Together they had four children, Bill, Suzanne, Dave, and Brian.
Gale chose to stay at home and raise her children until 1972 when she began work for Central Bus as a school bus driver. In 1983, she drove the bus for the Head Start program until her retirement in 2001. She was also involved in the Head Start program through music while employed there and after her retirement.
Gale was an accomplished pianist who played for many children’s programs, weddings, and funerals throughout the years. Gale was a member of the Grace Baptist Church where she played piano regularly for over 40 years. She was also involved in the Anaconda hand bell choir, Christian Women’s Clubs, Grace Baptist Church Sunday School programs, AWANA, GMG, Lunch Bunch, and C-Bar N Church Camp.
She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas to visit her daughter. She always liked an adventure. Gale had a great sense of humor that was passed on to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed hikes, picnics, and barbecues on the family property.
Gale was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill and Earl; and sister, Julia.
She is survived by her husband, Ron of Anaconda; children, Bill (Loretta) Hansen of Helena, Suzanne (John) Holden of Las Vegas, Dave (Melissa) Hansen of Anaconda, and Brian (Kelly) Hansen of Radcliff, Ky.; grandchildren, Brad (Nikki) Ouldhouse, Duane (Katie) Hansen, and Alyson Hansen, all of Bozeman, Roni Hansen of Anaconda, Steven and Zach Hansen of Helena, Arden and Garrett Holden of Las Vegas, and Vanessa and Vincent Hansen of Anaconda; brother, Herb (Norma) Henderson of Tumwater, Wash.; sister, Carole ( Tom) Hull of Helena; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Liberty Place, 1173 Hwy 55, Whitehall, 59759.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at the Grace Baptist Church of Anaconda.
Service and cremation arrangements are under the care of KT Riddle Funeral Homes.

Robert Blaskovich, 54
03/20/1955 ~ 06/27/2009
Robert “Bob” E. Blaskovich, 54, died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at his home.
He was born March 20, 1955, to William “Pudge” and Betty (Bray) Blaskovich in Butte. Bob was raised and attended school in Anaconda, graduating from Anaconda High School in 1973.
Following his graduation, Bob worked at various jobs, eventually becoming a millwright. During his years as a millwright, he worked many construction jobs around the United States.
Bob’s passion was fishing and he enjoyed crafting custom fishing rods. He loved to hunt. Photography was also one of his hobbies.
Survivors include his parents, William “Pudge” and Betty Blaskovich; sister, Vicky Blaskovich; uncle, Bill Rasor; aunts, Pearl Blaskovich and Jeanne Bray; uncle and aunt, Ed and Dorothy Blaskovich; numerous cousins in California, Washington and Montana; and best friend, Tim Bartholomew.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony (Eva) Blaskovich and Roy (Mary) Bray; aunt, Eva Rasor; uncle and aunt, Rudy and Pauline Blaskovich, and uncles, Al Blaskovich and Roy Bray.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 2, in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Anaconda. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services at the church.
The family requests donations be made to the Anaconda Catholic Community Luncheon Fund, or a food bank of the donor’s choice.
Longfellow Finnegan Funeral Home is entrusted with Bob’s funeral arrangements.

George and Dorothy Mungas
A memorial service will be held for George and Dorothy Mungas at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at the Granite County Museum and Cultural Center in Philipsburg.
A picnic lunch at the Philipsburg Community Park will immediately follow the service. Their cremains will be interred at the Philipsburg Cemetery the following day.
George and Dorothy were long-time ranchers on Willow Creek, and Dorothy was a schoolteacher at the Philipsburg elementary school for several years. They moved to Lolo in 1972, and later to Billings, where they spent their last 18 years.
Dorothy died Dec. 10, 2008, and George died three weeks later on Jan. 1, 2009.

Patrick J. ‘Chops’ Driscoll, 44
03/17/1965 ~ 07/25/2009
Patrick J. “Chops” Driscoll died Saturday, July 25, 2009, in Butte following a courageous 2½ year battle with cancer.
Chops was born on March 17, 1965, in Butte, the son of William and Noralee (Sullivan) Driscoll. He attended local schools and graduated from Butte Central High School in 1983.
Pat went to work at a young age, starting at Safeway and the Montana State Liquor Store. He later went to work as a truck driver for Hollow Construction before going to work as a garbage man for McGree Trucking retiring on July 21, 2009.
Chops loved his work and enjoyed working on his home as well as lending a helping hand to his many friends who needed help on their home projects. He also enjoyed woodworking and all outdoor activities.
He married Karen Callahan on July 11, 1987, in Butte. Together they had a daughter Morgan, who was truly the apple of his eye. Chops will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to make friends from all walks of life.
Pat lived life to the fullest. One of his last dreams was to become a licensed skydiver, a passion he took on the last couple of years.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and by his brothers-in-law, George Kore, Mark McGloin and Mick Callahan.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Morgan Driscoll; parents, William and Noralee Driscoll; mother and father-in-law, Ray and Betty Callahan; brothers and sisters, Terry (Mary Ann) Driscoll, Colleen (John) Kaluzny, Shawn Driscoll, Kevin (Amy) Driscoll, Dennis (Mikeleen) Driscoll, Clancy (David) O’Rourke, Brian (Marlow) Driscoll; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-laws, Debbie McGloin, Raelene (Kevin) Olsen, Dannette (Robin) Schreiner, Dan Callahan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends, including the entire McGree Trucking family.
Relatives and friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday in St. Ann’s Catholic Church for visitations. Parish vigil services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Ann’s Church. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers it was Chops’ wishes to have donations be made to Butte Central Catholic Education, Dynamic Dance & Tumbling Academy, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Highlands Hospice.
Rest in peace Chops … We all love you and thank you for being you!
Remember Chops’ motto: “Never lose your sense of humor!”

Norma Jean (Walsh) Norman, 80, James B. Norman, 70
ANACONDA — The cremains of Norma Jean (Walsh) Norman, 80, and her beloved husband, James B. Norman, 70, will be laid to rest on Saturday morning, Aug. 8, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Anaconda.
The Rite of Committal service will be officiated by the Rev. Stuart Long from the Anaconda Catholic Community.
The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians will conduct their services for Norma at the gravesite, and the American Legion Post No. 21 Color Guard will present military honors for James at the gravesite.
Norma was born on March 15, 1927, and died on Dec. 1, 2007; James was born on Sept. 19, 1925, and died on Feb. 26, 1996.
Norma was a member of the LAOH and was a retired elementary school teacher in Anaconda.
Jim was a World War II veteran and served as the Tri-County Sanitarian.
Their retired years were spent traveling and visiting family and friends, who miss their love, spirit and generosity.
Services are under the care of the KT Riddle Funeral Homes, Anaconda.
