WILSALL - Edwin Kenneth Jenkins II, 65, of Wilsall, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at the Livingston Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at the American Lutheran Church in Livingston with interment in the Wilsall cemetery. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home of Livingston is in charge.
Oscar T. Petersen
SIDNEY - Oscar T. Petersen, 81, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at the Sidney Health Center.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 20, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at the Fulkerson Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 22, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with interment in the Lone Butte cemetery.
Richard (Dick) Kelley
Richard (Dick) Kelley, 62, died Friday, March 26, 1999, of cancer, at his home.
Cremation will take place. Services will be at a later date. Affordable Alternative Cremation and Burial Services in charge of arrangements.
George A. LaVerdure
BRIGHTON, Colo. - George A. LaVerdure, 83, of Brighton, Colo., formerly of Winnebago, Neb., died Saturday, March 27, 1999, in a Denver Hospital.
Memorial Services and interment of the ashes in the Winnebago cemetery will be at a later date under the direction of Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Neb..
Mr. LaVerdure was born Jan. 25, 1916, in Dooley, Sheridan County, Montana, the ninth of ten children born to Pierre and Eliza (Primeau) LaVerdure, who were the last of the buffalo hunters on the plains of the Upper Missouri and Canada.
Mr. LaVerdure graduated from the Dooley High School in 1937, and the Haskell Institute, Lawrence, Kansas, in 1939 as a clerk. He married
Lillian S. St. Cyr July 6, 1940, in Dakota City, Neb. He served in the navy during W.W. II. After the war, he resumed his federal career at Winnebago and retired as Superintendent of the Crow Agency in Montana in 1975. His hobby was horse training and show horses.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, his son Doyle LaVerdure of Thornton, Colo., three granddaughters and three great-grandsons.

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Lt. Colonel Ronald James McEwan, 64, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at the V.A. Medical Center in Sheridan.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Ferries Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Glenwood F. Russell
ROUNDUP - Glenwood F. Russell, 85, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Roundup Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at Wier Funeral Chapel in Roundup. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Roundup. Interment to follow at Roundup City cemetery.

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Dadio Albert Silla, 81, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at Kane Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Elk cemetery.
Gloria May Smith
Gloria May Smith, 68, of Billings passed away on Friday, March 26, 1999, at the Deaconess Hospital. She was born on June 10, 1930, to Marie Nush (Jobe) and Rubin Erickson in Stanley, N.D., and on June 16, 1956, she married
Jack D. Smith in Cody, Wyo. Gloria worked for the 4-B's Restaurants for over seven years as a line cook. She will be missed tremendously by all.
Survivors include her husband, Jack ; a sister, Mickey Grimm; her four children, Gail (Roger) Fortner, Wayne Smith, Tracy (Synia) Smith, and Dennis Anderson; 13 grandchildren, Jennie, Jeri, and Dennis Anderson; Amanda, Alicia, Angela, Jessica, Weston, and Jade Smith; Lynette, Beckie, and Jillian Hathaway; and Jake Fortner; and four great-grandchildren.
Goodbye my wonderful wife. I will see you again someday. You are in a better place now and can rest in the arms of the Lord.
Thank you Mom for being our mother. We were truly blessed. We all love and will miss you. You are the best.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, at the Smith Downtown Chapel, 120 North 26th Street. Cremation has taken place. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mildred Udenberg
ABSAROKEE - Mildred Udenberg, 87, of Absarokee died peacefully Friday, March 26, 1999, at St. Vincent Hospital after a lengthy illness. Cremation has been held. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at the Absarokee Lutheran Church. Inurnment to follow at the Rosebud cemetery.
Mildred was born Sept. 5, 1911, in Forman, N.D. and she made her home in Absarokee operating the Hamburger Hut since August 1947.
She is survived by three children, Betty Shubert of Absarokee, Cody of Plains, and Fred Jr., also of Absarokee; two sisters, Francis Wiedman of Two Harbors, Minn., and Alice Holin of Forman, N. D.; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, all were loved dearly. We'll miss you Mom, you were the best.

James F. Ward
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - James F. Ward, 73, died Friday, March 26, 1999, at his home in Sheridan.
At Jim's request, services will be private at the family home. Ferries Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
William R. 'Rog' Walters
GREAT FALLS - William Roger "Rog" Walters, 87, of Great Falls, an Air Force veteran and retired sound technician, died of natural causes Tuesday at a local hospital.
At his request, no services are planned. O'Connor Funeral Home is handling cremation and arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Great Falls Food Bank.
He was born Jan. 27, 1912, in Fort Recovery, Ohio, and moved to Billings as a child. He graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1931 and attended Eastern Montana Teachers College.
He married
Elizabeth Peterson, June 2, 1937, in Billings; she died in 1994.
Walters had worked a number of jobs in his life, including as a salesman for Balfour Co. and later for F.L. Deye in Bozeman. He worked as a hod carrier in Bozeman, was a census taker and had worked for Midland Packing Co. In 1940 he moved to Great Falls with Montana Sales Co.
He served in the Air Force from 1942-45, and in 1943 developed a switching device to check all cooler regulators on prop-driven aircraft. After the war he was a civilian aircraft technician at Malmstrom. He worked for American Music Co. as a sound technician, retiring in 1980 after 25 years of service.
He enjoyed electronics, political and world news, music, reading, feeding birds, cooking, and inventing. He especially enjoyed making waffles for friends and family every Sunday since 1937.
Survivors include two sisters, Caroline Hymer of Brewster, Wash., and Mary Jane Bates of Laguna Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Joseph Walters of Billings and Ed Peterson of King City, Ore.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Emma K. Wilkison
ROUNDUP - Emma K. Wilkison, 94, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at Roundup Memorial Nursing Home.
Cremation has taken place and services will be at a later date in Fulda, Minn. Wier Funeral Home is in charge.
Colleen Shaw Dion
HELENA - Colleen "Connie" Shaw Dion, longtime resident of Helena, died Jan. 31, 1999, at St. Peter's Hospital after a short illness. Her children were at her bedside.
Connie was born Jan. 13, 1916, in Helena, to Russell and Sarah Tufts Shaw. When she was 9, the family moved to Missoula where she attended Paxon Grade School and Hellgate High School. She graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in business administration in 1938. While at the university she pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and was the second Coed Colonel of the Grizzly Battalion.
In 1941, she married
longtime beau, James Hunter Dion, of Glendive, at her parents' home on the East Shore of Flathead Lake. The couple made their home in Helena, where she was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church choir, a docent for the Montana Historical Society, a member of the Green Meadow Country Club, and a member of P.E.O. and Kappa Alums, the latter two in which she remained active until her death.
In her later years, she and Jim wintered in Palm Desert, Calif. She had recently moved into the Waterford Retirement Home where she was vice president of the Resident Council. There she enjoyed many friendships and activities. Connie loved needlepointing, golf, crossword puzzles, and mystery novels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 1984, and her sister, Lillian Shaw Miracle, in 1979. She is survived by her children and spouses, Marcia and Charlie Knell of Los Altos, Calif.; Jane and Fort Zackary Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; Bill and Ruth Dion of Chandler, Ariz.; her sister, Faithe Shaw Nunneley of Arlington, Va., and niece, Dr. Sarah Nunneley of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Fort Zackary III of San Diego, Brian Hunter Zackary of Tokyo, Japan, and Erin Colleen Zackary of Denver; Nora Knell and Patrick Horn of Missoula, Sarah Shaw Knell and Greg Smith of Bozeman, Nisa and Dirk Leone of Sunnyvale, Calif.; Heather Israelson of Salt Lake City; and great-grandchildren, Bryce Hunter Leone and Britten Israelson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 511 N. Park Ave., Helena.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Mikal Kellner Foundation for Animals, P.O. Box 389, Helena, MT 59624.
Marion E. Goward
MELSTONE - Marion E. Goward, 76, of Melstone, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at Eagle Cliff Manor in Billings.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the Faith Lutheran Church with interment of ashes in the Melstone cemetery.
Margaret 'Peg' Grieve
MILES CITY - Margaret "Peg" Grieve, 86, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at the Friendship Villa.
Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, in the Grace Bible Church with interment in the Custer County cemetery.
Roy A. Jerome
Roy A. Jerome, age 77, died at St. Vincent's Hospital on Jan. 31.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons Roy E. of Liberty Lake, Wash., and Dr. Robert S. Jerome of Martinez, Calif. Also two grandchildren, Vincent R. Jerome of Seattle, and Janene Pearson of Cody, Wyo., and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald A. Jerome in 1982.
Cremation has taken place and a private service is planned at a later date.
