Woodrow W. Cole

9/12/2010 Visit Tuesday. 5-7

Woodrow W. Cole, 95, died September 12, 2010 at St. Dominic Jackson Hospital. Visitation will be Tuesday September 14, 2010 from 5-8pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home and the funeral service will be 10am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Natchez Trace Memorial Park cemetery. Mr. Cole was born icon October 30, 1914 and was the son of the late Frank Cole and the late Laura Walters Cole. He was a native and lifelong resident of the Jackson area and retired from W.G. Avery Body Company after nearly 40 years of service. Mr. Cole was a mason and a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Mr. Cole is preceded in death by his wife, Inez Cole and a daughter, Carolyn Callahan. Survivors include a son, Wayne Cole of Brandon, 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda Posth

Linda Posth 53, of Clinton, Mississippi passed away Friday, October 1 2010. She joins her father Robert James Posth, her brother Richard Hastings, and her step father Robert Hastings Sr. in heaven. She is survived by her beloved, Alan Smith of 5 years who she enjoyed life with, her mother Betty Hastings, her sisters Cynthia Hastings (Roy) and Deborah Martinez of Gadsden Alabama, her brothers Howard Storms (Laura) of Arizona, Steven Posth (Susan) of Indiana, and Robert Hastings Jr. (Jerrie) of Washington. She has 3 children: Cynthia Role (Mikey), Robert Rountree (Tabitha), and Aubrey Rountree (Jay), all of Gadsden Alabama. She has 10 beautiful grandchildren and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and American Legion Riders. She was Mississippi State Coordinator for the National Katelynn Stinnett Memorial Ride to prevent child abuse. She was a student of Belhaven Community College of Jackson, Mississippi. The family would like to thank all the PGR, the ALR, and the CMA for all their love and support they showed during this time of need, we greatly appreciate it. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at University Hospital of Jackson, Mississippi. Thanks for all you did for our mother and loved one. The family and friends invite ALL area MC’s, Riding Organizations and clubs and friends of Linda Posth (Dragonslayerschik) to a memorial service and Honor Ride to celebrate her life and her final Mission home this Saturday, October 9th. The memorial service will be held at the Vineyard Church on Hwy 25 beginning with fellowship at 11:00 AM and a memorial service at noon. All attendees are invited and strongly encouraged to participate in the service and share their remembrances of Linda. An Honor Ride to the Harley-Davidson shop of Jackson will follow the memorial with a short ceremony to be held there. Linda was a truly strong advocate for all riders regardless of affiliation, whether on two wheels or a ‘cage’. Her brilliant smile and loving attitude set her apart as an unsurpassed peacemaker. Her tireless energy was infectious and awe inspiring. She dedicated herself to Standing for our Military from today and yesterday, to respect their service, their sacrifice and to teach everyone to Honor our Heroes’ willingness to give ALL in defense of our Liberty. She was also a fierce ally of those who fight to prevent child abuse in our nation. Her desire was always ‘One Mission, One Purpose, One Ride’. No egos, attitudes or agendas. To that end, this Honor Ride will be conducted with that in mind. Please join us as we send Linda home in the manner she so rightly earned and richly deserves. Ernest Wyldmon

Ernest Wyldmom Clinton, MS. Ernest Wyldmon, 82, died Monday October 4, 2010 at Regency St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation is Tuesday October 5, 2010 from 5-7pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison. A chapel funeral service will be Wednesday at 2pm followed by interment in Natchez Trace Memorial Park cemetery. Mr. Wyldmon was a native of Yazoo County and the son of the late Albert Wyldmon and the late Ada Collins Wyldmon. He lived in Clinton for 50 years and retired from Entergy after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of U.S. Army and served in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elsie Wyldmon of Clinton; son Wayne Wyldmon and wife Diane; grandson Zachary Wyldmon; sisters; Ruby Hinkle, Dorothy Purvis, Ada Wyldmon and Connie Wyldmon; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

John Forrest Rhemann, Sr.

Colonel John F. Rhemann, Sr. passed away from this life on October 5, 2010. He was born icon in Houston, Texas on October 21, 1925, to Martha and C.J. Rhemann. John grew up in Brookshire, Texas. He joined the Marine Corps at seventeen, serving in the Pacific during World War II. John graduated from Texas A&M; in 1951 joining the USAF. His basic pilot training was at Columbus AFB, MS where he met his wife of 59 years, Celeste Tillson. After all phases of training, he served in Korea from 1952- 1953. On return, the family lived in 6 states and 3 1/2 years at Hahn, AFB, Germany, returning to England AFB Louisiana. He was assigned to the Pentagon for 4 years then to Myrtle Beach AFB, South Carolina for four deployments to Vietnam, flying many missions. He also worked with the Ravens in Laos. Langley AFB, Virginia was next, and he retired from McDill AFB, Florida after 30 years of military service. He took several civilian jobs in Saudi Arabia and Iran. Lastly, he raised cattle in Raleigh, MS. During his military career, he received numerous medals, including two Legions Of Merit, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, a Bronze Star, and 14 Air Medals. John is preceded in death by his mother, father, daughter, Leah Beth, sister, Gladys Wills and brothers, William and Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Celeste Tillson Rhemann; children, J. Forrest, Jr. (Lynn), Deana Celeste, Jeffrey Ward; grandchildren, Krista Celeste, John Forrest, III and M. Barrie; sisters, Mae Dell Kohler (Charles), Kathleen Klausmeyer; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 07, 2010 from 5pm-8pm and Friday, October 8, 2010 from 9am-10am at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 10am at Natchez Trace Funeral Home. Interment will be at Forest Park Westheimer cemetery in Houston, Texas. Pallbearers are; Kurt T. Klausmeyer, Charles W. Kohler, Jr., David A. Kohler, Robert E. Haynes, Joe Rhemann, Michael R. Hopkins and Bruce M. Wills. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Voluntary Services (135) Wounded Warrior Project, G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Medical Center, 1500 E. Woodrow Wilson, Dr., Jackson, MS 39216, The American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213, or the charity of your choice.

James Derek Simon

James Derek Simon, age 68, of Madison, MS, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS. Derek was born icon on April 26, 1942, to parents, James Alexander Tappan Simon and Annette Barfield Simon, who preceded him in death. He spent his childhood in Senatobia, MS, and was a member of the National Guard. Derek enjoyed a life-long career as a manufacturers’ sales representative and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and gardening. Derek is survived by his wife of 19 years, Rachel Simon, two children, a daughter Joy Nicole Simon, a son James Derek Simon, II, two step-children, Jim Cameron and Kim Cameron, and cousins, Dalton Diamond, Louise Buntin and Calvin Barfield. Visitation will be held from 1pm – 2pm today at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison. A memorial service will follow visitation at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Derek’s name be made to St. Jude, Shriner's Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

Elizabeth A. Walker

Elizabeth Amaryllis Walker, 81, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010 at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison, Mississippi. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Monticello, Florida. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Elizabeth cemetery in Monticello. Amaryllis was a native of Jefferson County and was employed by the Jefferson County Road Department for 39 years, retiring in January, 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and V. T. Shelley; son, Charles Walker, Jr.; sister, Doris Mazola; brothers, Fred Shelley, Hoke Shelley and Wade Shelley. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jim and Netta King of Madison, MS; sister, Merilyn Kaplan of Ashville, N.C.; grandchildren, Justin King, Meghan King, Kyle and Lee Walker, Chris Walker, Joey Walker and Carla Walker; and great-grandchildren Emilee and Addison Walker.

Shirley N. Stribling

Shirley Brown Stribling went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on October 9, 2010. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 12pm – 2pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, followed by a funeral service celebrating her life with Pastor Gary Strehlow officiating. Shirley was born icon April, 24, 1934 in Northeast, Maryland, to James and Lucy Brown. She worked with Bell Telephone in Maryland and during that time met her husband of 58 years, W.L. (Bill) Stribling, who was stationed with the Army in Aberdeen, Maryland. She later retired from Mississippi Baptist Medical Center where she was a PBX/ switchboard operator. She loved God and her family and unselfishly put others needs ahead of her own. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gary Brown and Carl Brown of Elkton, Maryland; her sisters, Greta Brown of Elkton, Maryland and Zelda Cherwaty of Nottingham, Pennsylvania. Survivors include her husband, W.L. Stribling; son, Gerald Stribling and wife Deborah, of Clinton, MS; daughter, Karen Jenkins of Jackson, MS; granddaughters, Brittany Stribling McHann and Jenna Michelle Stribling of Clinton, MS; brothers, David Brown, Stanley Brown and Jay Brown of Maryland; sisters, Lucille Littleton of Newark, Delaware, Frances Dowell of Blountville, Tennessee and Phyllis Smith of Elkton, Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very dearly. The family would like to express many thanks to the Hospice caregivers and to St. Dominic’s medical staff for their attentive care during Mrs. Stribling’s illness. Michael E. Garrity

Michael Edward Garrity On Monday, October 11, 2010 our dear son, brother, friend, uncle, nephew and fishing buddy, at the age of 51, went home to prepare a place for us to join him in the future. Mike was a retired Blue Cross employee and a member of the Barnett Bass Masters fishing club. He loved fishing, music, computers, practical jokes, and watching his nieces and nephews grow. After a life of health challenges and a lifetime of setting an example of hope and courage, he goes forth without pain and suffering. He leaves behind his parents Edward Gerald and Mary Ann (Lebda) Garrity, his sisters Catharine Ann Russell and Lynn Marie Traxler, his best fishing buddies Mike Hollins and his uncle Jim Lebda, many loving aunts and uncles along with 4 nephews, 4 nieces, and 3 great-nephews who will miss him dearly. We welcome family and friends to help celebrate his life and memories with visitation from 5 PM to 7 PM Thursday, Oct. 14 at the Natchez Trace funeral home on Hwy 51 in Madison, and from 10:15 to 11 am on Friday Oct. 15 at St. Francis Catholic Church on Tidewater LN in Madison. Services are to follow at 11 am. His earthly body will be interred at Holy Sepluchre in Alsip, IL on Monday, Oct. 18. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The American Heart Association or St. Jude's Hospital.

Mrs. Jean Hudson Hall, 80, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Ridgeland. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with interment following in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. Mrs. Hall is survived by her daughters, Linda Ignozzito and husband Tony of Madison, Janice Pietro and husband Robert of Houston, TX and Donna Blanda and husband Paul of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Rene Collins, Amy Field, Tina Bjornerud, Jason Foster, Ashley Foster and Hillary Wright; and 12 great grandchildren. The family would express special thanks to Dr. Russell Young and the nursing staff of the 2nd floor at St. Dominic’s. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
