BERRY
George Pierce Berry Jr. "Father of Al Cobb".
Mr. George Berry Jr. passed away on Sept. 16, 2007, at the age of 73. He was born
in Simsboro, La., on March 5, 1934, to the late George Pierce and Eula Belle Bullock Berry Sr. He graduated from Ruston High School in 1951 and Louisiana Tech University in 1955 where he played baseball and football in both lettering. After graduation, he signed with the Detroit Tigers and played with the team for two years, then joined the U.S. Navy. Mr. Berry worked as an insurance representative for Ford Motor Company until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Cruikshank Berry, and parents, George Pierce and Eula Belle Bullock Berry Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Cobb (Cliff, Sr.) Carey of Lebanon, Carol (Russell) Brown of Colonial Beach, Va., and Cynthia (Danny) Brian of Knoxville, Tenn.; one son, Al (Regina) Cobb of Pascagoula, Miss.; nine grandchildren, Kimberly (Adam) Tune, Cliff (Marci) Carey Jr., Natalie Griffin, Allen Cobb, Joshua, Aaron, Sarah, Nathan and Jeremiah Brown; and three great- grandchildren, Brooks Tune, Isabella Tune and Jaiden Griffin.
DOYAL
Stacie Renea Harlan Doyal, a resident of Piedmont, Ala., age 29, beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister exchanged life for eternity and went to be with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, on Sept. 22, 2007. Stacie was seriously injured in an automobile accident on Aug. 19, 2007, and was airlifted to University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital where she remained until her death.
Stacie was born
on March 17, 1978, in Gulfport, Miss. She graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1996 and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where she received her associates degree. She continued her collegiate studies at the University of South Alabama, then transferred to Jacksonville State University (JSU) where she received her BS in Athletic Administration in 2001. While attending JSU, Stacie met her future husband, Jason, and was later married
on July 28, 2001. Although separated from her beloved Gulf Coast, she never lost her love for the water, crawfish boils, Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day parades, Mississippi State football, and "her" New Orleans Saints. Although a fan of most sport activities, Stacie was especially fond of softball and soccer. She was an avid lover of music and movies; her favorite activities included spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, traveling, and dinner at the Olive Garden.
She was preceded in death and has joined her son, Drew; her father, Ted Harlan Jr.; her grandfather, Frank W. Schuffert Jr., and her grandmother, Eloise Rouse Harlan.
Stacie is survived by her husband, Jason; a daughter, Madyson Renea; a son, Ty Jason; her mother, Judi Schuffert Lipscomb (David) of Vancleave, Miss.; her brother, Todd Harlan (Shana) and their children, Zachary and Caleb, of Daphne, Ala.; her sister, Alicia Steward (Blake) and their children, Christian and Olivia of Ocean Springs, Miss.; her sister, Sharron Leigh Lipscomb of Los Angeles, Calif.; her brother, David Lipscomb, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; her grandparents, Mary Schuffert, Tina and Billy Lipscomb all of Gulfport, Miss., and Ted Harlan Sr. of Saucier, Miss.; her aunt, Sandy Mohler (David) of Saucier; her cousin, Beka Mohler Rainey (Daryl) and their daughter, Davin from Hattiesburg, Miss.; her aunt, Cheryl Copponex (Shannon) and their children, Michael and John, all of Marietta, Ga.; her uncles, John Lipscomb of Pass Christian, Miss., and Bill Lipscomb of Dothan, Ala., and her uncle Griff Paige (Lauren) of Long Beach, Miss.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, located at 105 North Main Street, Piedmont, Ala.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Having been born
on St. Patrick's Day, Stacie's favorite conveyance to those she met along life's path was the old Irish blessing:

Willie Evans, 72, of Leakesville, Miss., died Sept. 20, 2007.
Visitation service will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at noon at the Cowan Funeral Home Chapel, Lucedale, Miss.
Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Funeral home.
Interment will be at Mason Chapel cemetery, Leakesville.

WATSON
Amari Leon Watson -- Infant son of Kenya J. Watson and Kenitra D. Fantroy, "Our Precious Baby Boy!" A homegoing celebration for our little Angel. Amari entered our lives on Sept. 1, 2007, in Stockbridge, Ga. He left us to go home with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 25, 2007. He may have only been here physically a short period of time, but he will forever be with us spiritually and will always have a dominant place in our hearts. Every moment that he was here with us was truly a blessing! He leaves behind to cherish his precious memory; his mother and father, Kenitra D. Fantroy and Kenya J. Watson; his twin sister, Aliyah L. Watson and two older brothers, Kylon Watson and Nikia Monroe; his very loving grandparents, Brenda G. Stallworth, Leon and Lagena Fantroy, Bobbie J. and Tony Tolbert and Claude Dutche Bivins; he also leaves behind his great-grandparents, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends who love him dearly as well.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Refuge Christian Center in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. at the church with Rev. Odell Rodgers officiating.
Burial will follow at First Baptist cemetery in Escatawpa, Miss.

CRAPPS
Everette Henry Crapps, 76, of Mobile, Ala., died Sept. 24, 2007, in Mobile. Mr. Crapps was born
Nov. 5, 1930, in Copiah County, Miss., to John Henry and Ethel Teasley Crapps. Mr. Crapps spent 30 years on the Coast.
He retired from the United States Army in 1968 after serving 25 years, having served in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a retired member of the Mississippi National Guard Company E. 155th infantry in Jackson, Miss. He received the Bronze Star medal for valor in 1967. Mr. Crapps was also retired from the Mississippi Department of Human Services in 1994 after 25 years of service, and also was the director of Department of Corrections for Jackson County. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 250 in Theodore, Ala., the Elks Lodge No. 1120 of Pascagoula, Miss., and the VFW Post 3373 of Pascagoula. He was past commander of the Cleveland, Miss., post of the American Legion. He received his master's degree in criminal justice from the University of Southern Mississippi. He also held degrees in psychology, and counseling, was a member of the University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association, attended Delta State University and was an avid traveler and sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel Marie Crapps; a son, Jimmy Norwood; a daughter, Terri Eiland, and two sisters, Margaret Johnson and Gladys Clark.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Barbara Crapps; daughters, Pamela Stokes of Pascagoula. Miss., Kay (Perry) Baxter and Sherri (Allen) Jones both of Lucedale; a son-in-law, Preston Eiland.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristy (Stephen) Pater, Bobby (Brittany) Eiland, Jake Norwood, and Blake Stokes and a great-grandson, Jayce Pater and a sister, Dorothy (Edgar) Prestage of Brandon, Miss.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, Miss.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robert Spicer officiating.
Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Biloxi National cemetery, with full military rites.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to American Heart Association or your favorite charity.

DANIELS
Brenda Clark Daniels of Orange Grove, Miss., passed away Sept. 24, 2007, at her home. She was born
Jan. 27, 1956, in Moss Point, Miss. She was a wonderful and giving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Emmett Clark and her loving grandparents, Jim and Willie Mae Clark, all of Kreole, Miss.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Daniels of Orange Grove; daughter, Tonya Mason of Grand Bay, Ala.; son and daughter-in-law, Zachary (Kasie) Mason of Grand Bay; four grandchildren, Kali Paige Mason, Conner Allen Mason, Gabrielle Leigh McCain and Phillip Breland Tanner; a brother and sister-in-law, David (Christy) Clark of Moss Point; a special uncle, Bernard Clark of Pascagoula, Miss.; her mother, Rosemary Gilbert of Ocean Springs, Miss.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at Orange Grove cemetery with Rev. Mack Mason officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Clark, Robert Smith, Kenny Mason, Cliff Lyles, Eddie Turner and Tommy Waller.

ELLIOTT
Mrs. Doris Risor Elliott, 87, of Helena, Miss., died Sept. 25, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Elliott was born
Aug. 6, 1920, in Okalona, Miss., to Henry G. and Lillie Mae Risor.
She was a homemaker and attended the First Pentecostal Church of Helena.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Elliott; her parents, Henry and Lillie Mae Risor; a brother, Henry Risor Jr., and two sisters, Eunice Miller and Evelyn Miller.
Mrs. Elliott is survived by her daughters, Janet Ezell of Helena and Lorraine Brazell of Houma, La., and her sister, Annie Mae Byrd of Georgetown, Ala. She is also survived by four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Elliot will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at Heritage Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Wilson Annex cemetery in Eight Mile, Ala.

GAFFORD
Annezell Gafford, 69, of Lucedale, Miss., died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at her residence.
She was born
Nov. 21, 1937, in Selma, Ala., and was a former resident of Mobile, Ala. She was a registered nurse and enjoyed backyard bird watching and reading.
She was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church of Lucedale and Alabama State Nurses Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Luther Smith and Dorothy O. Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Larry Gafford of Lucedale; daughter, Melanie Cox of Hernando, Miss.; son, Brian Gafford of Athens, Ala.; sister, Al Sandra Freeman of Statham, Ga.; brother, Oxford Smith of Lake Martin, Ala.; four grandchildren, Carson, Colton, and Channing Gafford, of Athens and Ian Cox of Hernando.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, 10 a.m. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Lucedale.

JOINER
Atasca I. Joiner, 82, of Vancleave, Miss., passed away Sept. 24, 2007, at her home. She was born
Feb. 22, 1923, in Mobile, Ala. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Joiner was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Maybelle McCall, and husband, Quitman Joiner.
Survivors include two sons, Christopher Gaines Joiner and Christopher Allen Joiner both of Pascagoula, Miss.; two sisters, Rita Sheet of Vancleave and Dixie Edwards of Pensacola, Fla.; one grandson, Allen Joiner of Pascagoula, numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss., with the service following at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula. Arrangements by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point.
TURNAGE
Curtis Benjamin Turnage, 86, former resident of Pascagoula, Miss., died Friday, Sept. 22, 2007, in Brooksville, Fla. He was born
Aug. 5, 1921, in Monticello, Miss., was a WWII Army veteran and a member of Ingalls Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Turnage was a long-time supporter of the Pascagoula Cheerleaders. He served as the Grand Mashall in 2004 for the Pascagoula Homecoming game.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Martha Turnage and his wife, Mary Turnage, and wife, Buna B, Turnage, and his daughter, Mary Jean Turnage.
Survivors include one son, Laney Turnage of Flora City, Fla.; grandchildren, Laura (Marvin) Gibson, Tracy (Mel) Carlock, Lee (Molly) Bull, Kim Parker and Robin Denny Watson; great grandchildren, Chris Bull, Eric Bull, Lela Bull, Zack Shaw, Amanda Carlock, Cole Carlock, Jordan Carter, Savannah Carter, Katherine Denny, Joshua Hillard and Tyler Ray Hillard.
Visitation was held Tuesday Sept. 25, 2007, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Miller officiating.
Burial will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa, Miss.

BAKER
Mrs. Clara Louise Baker entered Heaven's gate on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at the home of one of her daughters in Columbia, Miss. born
Jan. 28, 1927, in Mobile, Ala., to the late Reddon and Evia Goldman Wiggins, she was a former longtime resident of both Pascagoula, Miss., and Mobile. Mrs. Baker was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Tillman's Corner, Ala. Before retiring, she worked for over 20 years with her husband Capt. Don Baker in their Nationwide Insurance Agency office in Pascagoula. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, Donald McQueen Baker, Sr. in 1984; a daughter, Janice Baker Matkins; an infant son, Michael Dennis Baker; a granddaughter, Rebecca Diane Weir; a grandson, Matthew Kenneth Matkins; and a great grandson, Kevin Anthony Romero III.
Among her survivors are a son, Donald McQueen Baker, Jr. of Wade, Miss.; four daughters, Penny Dupont and husband, Maurice of Mobile, Carol Magee and husband, Howard; Diana Deaton and husband, Horace; Anna Stafford and husband Gene, all of Columbia; a son-in-law, Frank Matkins of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Albert Wiggins of Fairview, Ala.; a sister, Lydia Webber of Zachary, La.; 24 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, from St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Tillman's Corner.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m.
Interment will follow at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula. Those unable to attend may register online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
