ODOM
Ruben "Shorty" Odom, Sr., 70, departed this life, April 13, 2007, at his residence. He was born
to the union of the late Jasper and Alcencia Riley Odom in Natchez, Ala., (Monroe County), Sept. 26, 1936. He was a lifelong resident of Moss Point, Miss., and retired from the International Longshoremen Association in Pascagoula, Miss., in 1991.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 48 years Myra (McCovery) Odom, three daughters Emma Odom, Delisha Odom both of Moss Point, and Alonia (Eldon) Daniels of Lawrenceville, Ga.; three sons Victor Odom of Gautier, Miss., Gerald Odom and Thaddeus Odom of Moss Point; sister-in-law Vonzie Odom of Kreole, Miss., devoted and supportive during his time of illness sisters-in-law Sarah Riley, Katie Odom, and Barbara Clark all of Moss Point; niece Yolanda Moore of Moss Point; a host of family, seven grandchildren and devoted friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 21, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Saint Peter Baptist Church, Pascagoula, Miss.
Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. W.H. Marshall, officiating.
Interment will be held at Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula.

QUAVE
Mrs. Alberta Nelsina Quave was born
Oct. 26, 1915, to the union of the late Henry and Julia Stewart. She departed this life for a brighter one at 2 a.m. at Select Specialty Hospital, Jackson, Miss., on April 12, 2007, at the age of 91.
Mrs. Quave joined Aimwell Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Haywood Brooks and was a Life Member of The Greater Antioch M. B. Church where she served in the Sunday School Department as a teacher.
She was a homemaker and mother of three. At the age of 13, she took on the responsibility of rearing her five sisters and brothers after the death of her mother.
In January 1937, Alberta Stewart was united in Holy Matrimony to her late husband, Edward H. Quave.
Mrs. Alberta Quave leaves to cherish her memory; three children Edwin (Helen) Quave, Moss Point, Miss., Barbara (Joel) Murphy and Shirley (Roger) Scott, both of Jackson; a brother Brunett C. Stewart; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation and family hour will be 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. with the funeral starting promptly at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Pascagoula with burial following in Scranton cemetery. Rev. Dr. John W. Davis is officiating.

MS. WILLIE BERNICE WALKER, 92, of Moss Point, Miss. died April 18, 2007. Robinson Friendly Funeral Home, Moss Point.
ATWOOD
Mary Frances Lewis Atwood, 93, widow of George Lafayette Atwood, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born
on Dec. 21, 1913, in Terry, Miss., to Fannie Augusta Linerva Collins Lewis and William George Lewis. She was a loving mother to her children, Shirley Faye Atwood Cumbest and (Arvis Vertis Cumbest), of Pascagoula, Miss.; George Robert Atwood and (Loretta Ann Gregory), of New Braunfels, Texas; Richard Collins Atwood of Chocowinity, NC, and Charles Lafayette Atwood of Las Vegas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers John Wesley Lewis, Harvey Riser Lewis, David Earl Lewis, William Ruffin Lewis, Vernon Edward Lewis, and Cary Leon Lewis; one son, Lewis Edward Atwood and daughter-in-law, (Lucille Reddoch Wingfield).
Mrs. Atwood was also known as "Susie" to many of her friends in Pascagoula, where she lived for 60 years. She moved to Las Vegas after Hurricane Katrina destroyed her home of more than 50 years. In Las Vegas, she cheerfully started anew and made fast friends.
In Pascagoula, Mrs. Atwood was well-known for her beautiful needlework. She enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and the occasional card game with friends. The love of her life was her husband, George, whom she called "Shoogie". She and George were hard workers and instilled in their children a strong work ethic, an appreciation for education, and a high moral standard.
She will be missed by many who loved and respected her. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Lillie Eaves, 81, of Saucier, Miss., formerly of Jackson County, died Monday, April 16, 2007, in Biloxi, Miss. Mrs. Eaves was born
on August 15, 1925, in Neely, Miss.
GRIFFITH
Mrs. Mary Louise "M.L." Garry-Griffith, slipped away quietly into eternal rest on Saturday, April 14, 2007. She was born
Aug. 18, 1934, in Hazelhurst, Miss., to the late Matthew Garry, Sr. and Lela Garry. She later moved to Pascagoula, Miss., where she had resided for over 50 years. After moving to Pascagoula, Mrs. Griffith united with Antioch Baptist Church. She will always be remembered by many people whose lives she touched.
Mary Louise affectionately known as "M.L." was proceeded in death by her parents, Matthew and Lela Garry, Sr., a son, Ben Earl Garry, Sr.; two brothers, Matthew "Tight" Garry, Willie "Pap" Garry, and two sisters Orgia Lee Newson and Viola Young and a niece Ann Taylor.

TAYLOR
Mr. H.B. Taylor, 75, of Pascagoula, Miss., died April 14, 2007, at Singing River Hospital. He was born
May 4, 1931, in Magnolia, Miss. He was retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding Paint Department after 34 years. Mr. Taylor was one of the original founders of the Pas Point Social Club and a member of the Gator Club.
THOMSON
Joseph Estes "J.E." Thomson, 90, "Pawpaw J.E.", as his family lovingly called him, passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, April 18, 2007. He was born
Jan. 3, 1917 and had lived his entire life in Moss Point, Miss. He was retired from Lennep's Hardware and had spent his retirement years traveling, fishing, enjoying his great-grandchildren and working in his flower beds. J.E. was a member of East Moss Point Baptist Church where he served many years as a deacon, choir member, and Sunday School Superintendent. In July of 2003, he was named Director Emeritus of the Sunday School Department at East Moss Point Baptist, and in February of 2005, the new educational wing of the church was named after and dedicated to him. Pawpaw loved his church and served faithfully all of his life.
J.E. leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 69 years, Margie Inez Howard Thomson, whom he loved more than life itself. He also leaves two daughters Sadie (Harold) Frost of Diamondhead, Miss., and Linda Harvey of Hurley, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Jim (Mia) Nunez of McCalla, Ala., Steve (Cindy) Nunez of League City, Texas, Melony (Rod) Hanson of Hurley, Melinda (Wayne) Sharpton of Hurley, Michael (Nicole) Harvey of Hurley, Amy (Ellis) Bridgers of Brandon, Miss., and Angie (Cass) Arthur of Brandon; 10 great-grandchildren, April Nunez of McCalla, Stephen Nunez of League City, Ryan (Ashley) Harvey of Mobile, Ala., Raye-Anna Sharpton, Rylee Sharpton, Allie-Rae Harvey, and Mollie Harvey all of Hurley, Avery Bridgers, Ainsley Bridgers, and Kate Arthur all of Brandon.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Thompson's grandsons Steve Nunez, Stephen Nunez, Rod Hanson, Wayne Sharpton, Michael Harvey, Ellis Bridgers, and Cass Arthur. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of East Moss Point Baptist Church with a special mention and thanks to one particular deacon, Billy Wilks, who has been a loyal and devoted friend and church family member.
The visitation will be held Friday, April 20, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Escatawpa, Miss.
The funeral will be held Saturday, April 21, 2007, at 10 a.m. at East Moss Point Baptist Church, Moss Point, Miss. with an one hour visitation prior to service time with interment to follow at Griffin cemetery, Moss Point..
Mr. Thomson's grandson, Jim Nunez, and pastors Brother Allen Hayes and Ray McCorkle will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to East Moss Point Baptist Church.

Mr. Ronald O. Marshall, age 49, of Moss Point, Miss. passed away April 15, 2007 in Pascagoula, Miss. He was born
Nov. 6, 1957 in Jackson County, Miss. Ronald was a member of Eastside Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert D. Marshall and a sister Felisa Young.
Survivors include his mother Mrs. Betty Hester of Grand Bay, Ala.; three brothers Rocky Marshall of Hurley, Miss., Glenwood Marshall of Orange Grove, Miss., Dolton Marshall of Va. and a sister Etta Henson of Grand Bay; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Eastside Assembly of God Church with Rev. Wendell Stork officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time.
Interment will follow at Orange Grove cemetery in Moss Point.

NEWBILL
Betty Rouse Newbill, age 79, of Pascagoula, Miss. passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 in Vancleave, Miss.
She was born
July 13, 1927 in Devalls Bluff, Ark. and has been a resident of Pascagoula for over 60 years. Ms. Betty was a faithful and devoted "Paper Lady" for the Mississippi Press for over 30 years. She enjoyed her job and made a difference in the lives of her clients. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and will be missed by many.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Karla Gordon; brother, Charles Dammen.
Ms. Betty is survived by three sons and two daughters, Larry Rouse (Pat), Linda Nelson (Derald), both of Pascagoula; Janice Hozey, Pensacola, Fla.; Douglas Rouse (Sharron), Michael Newbill (Kim), both of Pascagoula; sister, Francis Hilsdon, Brinkley, Ark.; former spouse, Oscar Rouse, Pascagoula; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 19, 2007, 6-9 p.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula.
Funeral Service will be Friday, April 20, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula.

Mr. Roy Walley, Jr., "Kool Billy", 51, was born
Jan. 5, 1956 and entered into eternal rest April 15, 2007 at Singing River Rehabilitation Center in Moss Point, Miss.

Mr. Van Harold (Bubba) Bardwell Jr., 42, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Sunday April 15, 2007. Mr. Bardwell was preceded in death by his grandparents H.T. and Mildred Bardwell, and Albert Lee and Eva Juanita Damron, as well as his father Mr. Van Harold Bardwell, Sr.
He is survived by his loving mother, Juanita Bardwell of Pascagoula; his children Vance Bardwell and Courtney Bardwell of Gautier, Miss. Kelsey Bardwell and Jarret Bardwell of Lena; their mother Sonya Bardwell of Lena; special friend Beth Mills of Moss Point, Miss.; two sisters, Renita (Rob) Menzies of Slidell, La., Mildred Lynn (Steve) Johnson of Pascagoula; two brothers, David (Laura) Bardwell of Pascagoula, Bruce (Amanda) Bardwell of Hurley, Miss.; an aunt, Bonnie (Red) Wilson of Helena, Miss., many nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.

WEBER
Mrs. Roseann A. Weber was born
Sept. 7, 1916, grew up and lived most of her life in Pittsburgh, Pa. She then moved to Gautier, Miss., in 1975. She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and also a former member of the "Legion of Mary." She died peacefully Saturday, July 15, 2006 at age 89 in Ocean Springs, Miss. Mrs. Weber was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Weber; daughters Anna Marie Leonard and Roseann Weber; sons Albert Weber, Jerome Weber and grandaughter Joyce Johnston. Surviving children of this beloved mother include daughters Eileen Pelusi and husband, Carmen, of Gautier, Miss., Wanda Haynes and husband, Thomas, of Gautier, Miss., sons, James Weber of Douglasville, Pa., Henry Weber and wife, Chris, of Deltona, Fla., Timothy Weber and wife, Lora, of Gautier, William Weber and wife, Annette of Newburg, Ind.; 28 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. this evening at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 5:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 18, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gautier with Father Patrick Hayes officiating. DOSSETT
Mr. Jerry Kent Dossett, 70, of Ocean Springs, Miss., passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Dossett was born
Oct. 26, 1936, in New Orleans and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast for the past 60 years.
He was a 1957 graduate of Pascagoula High School and retired from the Pascagoula Fire Department in 1980 as a battalion chief. He owned J's Pawn Shop in Ocean Springs and Jerry's Pawn Shop in Gautier. He was a member of Bellehaven Baptist Church in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Dossett was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Dossett.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 46 years, Charlotte Dossett; three sons, Chris Dossett and his wife, Marian, Danny Dossett and his wife Debbie, and Brian Dossett; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jordan, Alan and Steven Dossett; and one sister, Karen "Sissie" Shaul, all of Ocean Springs. Mr. Dossett will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Crestlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Jimmie Milam officiating.
