Sept. 2, 1923, in Lum, Ala. She was a retired school teacher in Jackson County.
MILLER
Vivian Virginia Miller, 65, of Gautier, Miss., passed away July 14, 2006, in Biloxi, Miss., after a lengthy illness.
STONE
Mr. Charles Lee Stone, age 68, of Lucedale, Miss., died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, in Lucedale. Mr. Stone was born
March 22, 1938, in Hartselle, Ala. He had been a cancer patient and was undergoing chemotherapy for the past 18 months in Louisiana. Mr. Stone retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 40 years of service in the hull department. He was a member of Franklin Creek Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #202 in Moss Point, Miss. Mr. Stone loved handling beagles in field trials for a number of years until his recent disability. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felton and Jewel Stone, sister, Judy Cagle and brother, John D. Stone. Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss.

Cecil W. Brewer, age 80, of Pascagoula, Miss passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at his home.
HUNTER
Ula May Hunter, 81 years old, of Pascagoula, Miss., departed this life at Pascagoula's Singing River Hospital on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, after a long illness. Mrs. Hunter was born
on Sept. 20, 1926, in Jefferson, Ohio; and lived in Key West, Fla., and in Freeport, Texas, before moving to the Pascagoula area 48 years ago.
JONES
Mr. Ragon E. Jones, 85, of Moss Point, Miss., died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, with his wife by his side. He was born
Oct. 28, 1922 in Georgiana, Ala., to the late James Daniel Jones Sr., and Ola Mae McLain Jones. During World War II, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater for over three years without ever taking leave. Following his service to his country, Mr. Jones received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama and was selected as a Distinguished Engineering Fellow. He completed his graduate work from Allis Chalmer in Milwaukee, Wis. Mr. Jones worked as a mechanical and environmental engineer for over 47 years. He taught engineering principles at Texas A&M University. He was licensed in four states and specialized in churches, schools, and hospitals. He pioneered the Weathertron for General Electric, receiving a bronze medal and changing the industry as a whole. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gautier, Miss., as well as the Gautier Civitan.
TAPPER
Dorothy Mae Tapper, 84, of Pascagoula, Miss., was born
on Aug. 18, 1923, in Anderson, S.C., and departed this life on Dec. 9, 2007, at River Chase Village, Gautier, Miss., where she had been in residence for two years. Ms. Tapper was a longtime resident of Pascagoula and the Gulf Coast, having spent 10 years of her life in Hunts-ville, Ala. She will be missed by many friends whose lives she touched.
ANDREWS
Franklin Therlow Andrews passed away Dec. 7, 2007, after a brief battle with cancer. When he was first diagnosed he told me, "I'm in my Master's hands," so don't worry. He was born
to Frank and Lindora Andrews, now deceased of Cayman Island, on Sept. 29, 1929.

Mr. Darwin W. Scoville Sr., age 88, of Hurley, Miss., passed away Dec. 5, 2007, in Mobile, Ala. Mr. Scoville was born
May 16, 1919, in Charles City, Iowa.
BROWN
Mr. Larry Brown, 57, passed on Nov. 22, 2007, in Los Angeles, where he was a life-long resident. He accepted the Lord at a very young age and graduated in the class of 1970 from Carver High School. He was a member of West Angeles Church of God in Christ with officiating Pastor Bishop Charles E. Blake. Larry enjoyed working as CEO of Trans Capitol Financial Corp. of LA California.

Sept. 7, 1939, to the late Lee Hester and Fannie Mae Earnest in Madden, Miss. He departed his life on Nov. 28, 2007.

Mr. Ben Farris, 81, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at his home in Gautier, Miss. He was born
June 2, 1926, in Carbon Hill, Walker County, Ala. Mr. Farris was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a charter member of the Singing River Lodge No. 633 F&AM of Gautier, a charter member of the Singing River Chapter No. 395 OES of Gautier and a charter member of the Joppa Shrine Temple of Biloxi, Miss.

Mrs. Evie Reeves Davis went to be with her Lord and Savior Dec. 4, 2007, at the age of 95 of natural causes. She was born
on March 21, 1912, in Lucedale, Miss., to the late Lyman and Molly Reeves. She was a member of East Moss Point Baptist Church.
MANN
Mrs. Gloria "Jeanne" Wooten Mann, age 54, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Dec. 3, 2007. She was born
July 9, 1953, in Pine Bluff, Ark. Mrs. Mann was a comptroller with Naval Engineering of Pascagoula and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Pascagoula, Krewe of Vesta and The Dixie Dazzlers.

William A. "Sonny" Stuart Jr. passed away on Dec. 3, 2007, in Pascagoula, Miss. He was born
on Dec. 24, 1930, in Carroll County, Miss. Sonny was a resident of Jackson County for more than 65 years, graduating in the class of 1949 from Pascagoula High School.

Douglass "Doug" Latimer Fontaine, 75, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, at his home. He was born
June 12, 1932, in Boston, Mass., to the late John E. Fontaine Jr. and Sydney Hosford Latimer Fontaine.

Mrs. Bertha Ann Westphal Lane, 75, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, in Ocean Springs.
MORIE
James "J.C." Morie was born
July 14, 1930, in the Franklin Creek community. J.C. died at home Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007. He retired from International Paper Co., where he worked for 42 years. He was a resident of Grand Bay for the last 32 years.
PARKER
Mr. Robert Nelson Parker, 58, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, at his home in Wade, Miss. He was born
Jan. 20, 1949, in Biloxi, Miss. Mr. Parker was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a bus driver for East Central Schools for the last 13 years. He had previously worked for 20 years with D&B Security and Harrell Security of Moss Point, Miss., and was a longtime member of Twin Pines Apostolic Church where he was former Sunday school superintendent and a former lay minister.
SINGLEY
Elizabeth Amelia Royals Singley, matriarch of the Singley family, passed from this life at her home in the early morning of Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Singley was born
in Meridian, Miss., on Oct. 29, 1912. She was raised in Meridian and graduated from Meridian High School. She then attended Mississippi College for Women and Newcomb College. She returned to Meridian, taught school at Marion, Miss., was married
and raised her family there. In Meridian, she was a member of and supported many civic organizations and was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church. She moved to Moss Point in 2002 due to health reasons to be close to family.

Sept. 20, 1939. She died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007. She attended Temple Baptist Church in Big Point, Miss.
