RICE
Mr. John Earl Rice, Sr., 71, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Monday, April 10, 2006. He was born
Sept. 12, 1934, in Pascagoula. Mr. Rice was a boat captain with Tidewater Marine. He traveled all over the world spending several years in Singapore before retiring in 1990 due to illness. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Fred and Maggie Rice, his stepmother, Edith Rice, a sister, Trudy Rice, a brother, Fred Rice, Jr. and two grandchildren, Shandy Conner and Mikki Domingue.
Mr. Rice is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, John E., Jr. and Vina Rice and Henry A. Rice, all of Lake Charles, La., and Daryl K. Rice of Sacramento, Calif.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Roxanna K. and Bryant Domingue and Tammie G. and Shane Conner, all of Lake Charles, La., and Melody Kim and Jeff Monson of Pascagoula; three sisters, Velma Marthaler of Pascagoula, Katherine Milan of Dunellon, Fla., and Susie Stephan of Indiana; four brothers, Edward "Sonny Boy" Rice, David Rice, Jesse Rice and Louis Rice, all of Pascagoula; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2006, at 11 a.m. from Biloxi National cemetery in Biloxi.

UPTON
Timothy M. Upton, 20, a native of Metairie, La., and a resident of LaPlace, La., died on Saturday, April 8, 2006.
The beloved son of Patric and Debria Upton; brother of Thomas and Philip Upton; grandson of Patricia Kersteter, Colleen Lewis and the late George Lewis; step grandson of Ammon Kersteter.
Visitation will be at 1st United Methodist Church, 301 Bamboo Rd., LaPlace, La., on Thursday, April 13, 2006, from 4 until 6 p.m. and on Friday from 8 until 10 a.m. followed by religious services at the church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Garden of Memories cemetery, Metairie, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also staff of K-Paul's Restaurant New Orleans, La., are invited to attend services.

WILLIAMS
Mrs. Glenda Wade Williams, 51, of Moss Point, Miss., was born
April 17, 1954, in Laurel, Miss. Mrs. Williams passed on to eternal life on Friday, April 7, 2006, in Atlanta, Ga. Glenda was united in marriage to Dennis J. Williams on Dec. 31, 1993, which she was a loving and devoted wife for 13 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatricel Fountain; her paternal parents, Rev. Will Wade and Gennie Bell Wade.; son, LaVerne T. Wade and one brother, James Wallace Finklea.
Her memories are left to be cherished by her husband, Dennis J. Williams of Moss Point; one loving and devoted daughter, Sabrina L. Wade of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Will A. (Gloria) Wade, Sr. of Greenwood, Miss.; three beautiful granddaughters, Cassandra Wade of Gautier, Miss., Timberlane Wade, and Samoria Walker both of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandsons, LaDarrius Mattis of Gautier, Miss., and Will Wright of Hampton, Va.; two devoted and loving godchildren, Tiffany Dean and Gerald Jermaine Patterson; three sisters, Shirley Marshall, Ethel Finklea of Forrest, Miss., and Ann Arrington of Laurel, Miss.; two brothers, Robert James Finklea and Gary L. Finklea both of Monroeville, Ala.; devoted friends, Mary Baggett, Mary Powe and Verna Walker, DeMarcus Bridges all of Moss Point, and Theress Magee of Pascagoula; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 14, 2006, at Christian Love Church of The Living God, Chillis Street, Moss Point, Miss.
Interment will be in Scranton cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.

MORRISON
Mrs. Juanita Morrison, 74, of Hurley, Miss., died on April 7, 2006, in Hurley. She was born
on Oct. 24, 1931, in Hurley.
Mrs. Morrison was a wonderful, mother, grandmother and sister and loved her family. She also loved to work in her garden.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Morrison and great grandson Ryan McGrath and brothers and sister.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia R. Stout, Atlanta, Ga., Barbara E. Gibson, Houston, Texas, Carol J. (Michael) Hall, Hurley and a chosen daughter, Sharon Michna, Houston, Texas; son, C. J. WHITE
Mrs. Carol Ann Wells White, age 65, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at her home in Gautier. Mrs. White was born
March 2, 1941, in Birmingham, Ala. She was a long time resident of Jackson County and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gautier. She loved to sew, play bingo, and was an avid flea marketer. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Carl and Grace Wells, her mother and stepfather, Edna and Wilford Varner, husband of 39 years, Robert E. White, brother, Gary W. Wells.
She is survived by her fiance, Dennis Troyer of Gautier; five children, Bo (Chan) White of Pascagoula, Miss., Timmy (Donna) Bittle of Waco, Texas, Bobby Bittle, Ronnie (Angela) Bittle, both of Birmingham, Ala., Kenneth (Lisa) White of Gautier, Miss.; stepsister, Adell (Joe) Martin of Pascagoula, Miss.; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2006, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2006, from the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park cemetery in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Trinity Hospice located at 6817 Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs, Miss., 39564, that cared for their mother in such a loving and tender way.

BLACK
Mrs. Anita Mixon Black, age 84, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Saturday, April 8, 2006 in Pascagoula. She was born
in Benndale, Miss., on Feb. 2, 1922. Mrs. Black was a homemaker and long time resident of Jackson County.
VINCENT
Mrs. Rose Marie Groseclose Vincent, age 58, of Pascagoula, met her Lord on April 6, 2006, while visiting family in Athens, Ga.
Mrs. Vincent was born
in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Aug. 30, 1947. She had been a resident of Jackson County for most of her life and was employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding for a number of years prior to retirement. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Pascagoula Chapter Duchess de Chaumont.
She had a life-long love of books and was an avid reader. She was an animal lover and dedicated ASPCA member. She enjoyed her retirement while caring for her beloved Boston Terrier "Babbette."
Mrs. Vincent was preceded in death by her father, William R. Groseclose. She is survived by a loving and devoted husband, Thomas M. Vincent of Pascagoula; mother, Frances (Edward) Saucier of Pascagoula; son, Allen P. Lee and grandchildren of North Carolina; sister, Maureen (Daniel) Stutz; nieces, Heather and Erin Stutz all of Clackamas, Ore.; aunt, Pauline Groseclose of Gautier; step-children, Jason (Cherie) Vincent of Athens, Ga., and Ashley (Ben) Fournier; grandchildren Ashley, Hannah, Hayden and Payne.
Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2006 from 1 until 2 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.

ZWICK
Mr. Robert William Zwick, 64 of Gautier, Miss., died on April 7, 2006, in Mobile, Ala. He was born
August 23, 1941, in Dear Park, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray E. and Ruth Zwick.
He is survived by his wife, Madelyn Zwick, Gautier; son, Robert M. and Sandra Zwick, Helena; son, David and Cindy Zwick, Houston, Texas; daughter, Donna and Stephen Burnsed, Pascagoula; sister, Sally and Bill Welch, Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, Louis and Vera Zwick, Chesapeake, Va.; brother, Harry Zwick, Franklinton, La.; grandchildren, Brandon Zwick, Kevin Zwick, Hunter Zwick, Josh Zwick, Kalyn Burnsed, Lauren Burnsed and Matthew Burnsed.

Raymond Anderson, 67, of Lucedale, Miss., born
Sept. 1, 1938, in George County, Miss., died April 5, 2006.
Survivors include his sons, Raymond (Maryln) Anderson, Jr., Stanley (Carrie) Anderson and Donald Anderson; daughters, Jacqueline (Rickey) Jordan and Reba (Anthony) FanTroy; brothers, Ernest (Lemac) Anderson, James (Doris) Anderson, Freddie (Gloria) Anderson, Richton Park, Ill., Otis L. Anderson, Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Annie J. Ferrill; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2006, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Cowan Funeral Home Chapel, Lucedale, Miss.

GATES
Thomas "Tootsie" L. Gates, age 68, of Pascagoula passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2006.
He was born
Oct. 13, 1937, in Eudora, Ark., and has been a resident of Pascagoula since the late 1940's. He graduated from Our Lady of Victories High School in 1956 and entered the IBEW Apprenticeship Program. He remained a member of Local 903 for 50 years and served a three year term as assistant business manager. During his career, he advanced to electrical superintendent for KCI where he worked various projects in the U.S. and several foreign countries. In 2000, he retired after overseeing a two-year project in Singapore.
He was an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Pascagoula where since his retirement he spent the majority of his time serving on various committees in the church.
Mr. Gates is preceded in death by his parents, James R. Gates and Maudie Mae Gates; brother, James R. Gates, Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Gerald and Agnes Mulvey; brother-in-law, Gerald Mulvey.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gail Mulvey Gates, Pascagoula; two daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Gates, Long Island, N.Y., Donna Hamilton, League City, Texas, Gordon Hamilton, Seabrook, Texas; granddaughter, Robyn Garner (Larry), Seabrook; two grandsons, PFC Christian Hamilton, Seabrook and presently serving in the U.S. Army in Iraq and Bobby Hamilton, Seabrook; three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Aidan of Seabrook and Tayler, of Humble, Texas; four sisters-in-law, Ann Moore (Rex), Pascagoula, Margery Thompson (Paul Sr.), Pascagoula, Marilyn Mulvey, Pensacola, Fla., Bobbye Gates, Brooklyn, Miss.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2006, 6-8 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
Funeral service will be Sunday, April 9, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Pascagoula with Rev. Wayne McMahon officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Mike Moore, Paul Thompson, Jr., Brian Thompson, Nick Thompson, Gerry Mulvey, Jr. and Wes Mulvey.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Woodlawn Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula, Miss.
GEORGE
Mr. Claudie Ray George, 79, of Lucedale, Miss., passed away April 5, 2006, in Pascagoula, Miss. He was born
July 25, 1926, in Kemper County, Miss. He served in the U.S. Army in the 3rd Infantry under General George Patton.
Mr. George retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1964 after serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in 1989, where he was a Fireman.
Mr. George was preceded in death by his father, Felton A. George Sr.; and mother, Lillian George Hedgepeth; son, Charles Ray George; sister, Rachel Stuart; brothers, Bennie and Daniel George.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel George of Lucedale; daughter, Irene (Michael) Asiala of Pascagoula; sons, Felton Davis George of Pascagoula and Jimmy (Debbie) George of Lucedale; brothers, Felton Allen George, Jr. of Vancleave and Tillman George of Moss Point; sister, Tinye Marshall of DeKalb; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2006, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2006, at Tucker's Chapel in DeKalb with Rev. H.J. Hedgepeth officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.
