MOORE
Henry "H.B." Moore Jr., 86, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at his home.
He was born
April 25, 1918, in Pascagoula and has been a lifelong resident. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during World War II. Mr. Moore retired from International Paper Mill as an accountant after 38 years of employment. He was a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula, Knights of Columbus and American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Grant Moore.
Survivors include two daughters and three sons, Rita (Jim) Martin, Kathleen (Eddie) Williams, Bragg (Linda) Moore and Kenny (Sue Ellen) Moore, all of Pascagoula, and Michael (Kathy) Moore, Dallas, Texas; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, with Rosary recited at 8 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula with Father John McGrath and Father Gerard Cleary officiating.
Burial will follow in Machpelah cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Moore, John Moore, Jarrett Williams, Donnie Brimm, Ryan Patrick and Richard Martin.
Arrangements are by O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
SMITH
Howard William Smith, 77, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, in Pascagoula, Miss. Mr. Smith was born
on April 10, 1927, in Laurel, Miss. He worked in the electrical/maintenance department at International Paper Co. in Moss Point for 37 years.
Mr. Smith will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Eastlawn Baptist Church.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Everett B. and Lola Smith; one brother, Nolan Smith; and one grandson, Gary Howard Smith Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Martin Smith of Pascagoula; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary Howard (Angie) Smith of Gulfport, Miss.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula (F.A.) Ellis of San Antonio, Texas, and Debbie (Ken) Steiner of Pascagoula.
Survivors also include six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, from 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss., with the Rev. David Eldridge and the Rev. James Miller officiating.
Burial will follow at Griffin cemetery in Moss Point, Miss.

ROOT
Leola Joyce Root, 70, of Moss Point, Miss., died Nov. 12, 2004, in Pascagoula. She was born
May 28, 1934, in Hamdem, Conn. She was a retired clerk with Myers Supply and was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsmere and Leola Root.
Survivors include her devoted partner, Barbara Stephanofsky of Moss Point, Miss.; sister, Doris Goodwin of Moss Point; brother, Chip Root of Waterbury, Conn.; nephew, Nolan Goodwin; and nieces, Marsha Glaskox and Lynn Goodwin; and other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at Griffin cemetery in Moss Point with Rev. Bob Storie officiating.

WALKER
Alisha Danielle Walker, 20, of Moss Point, Miss., was born
July 24, 1984. Alisha passed on to eternal life Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, in Moss Point, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Sylvester Walker.
Survivors include her children, Keyondre Walker and Jaylexia Walker, both of Moss Point; mother, Theresa Walker of Moss Point; stepfather, Charles Outlaw; grandmother, Leatrice Walker of Moss Point; three sisters, Stephanie Walker, Candice Walker and Tiffany Jones, all of Moss Point; three brothers, Eric Walker, Derick Walker and James Walker, all of Moss Point; one niece and nephew; devoted friends, Cartrick Rudolph and Lionell and Lisa Jenkins; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 3724 Davis St., Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral service will begin promptly at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Ann Pickett officiating.
Interment will be in Machpelah cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.

SLAY
Mrs. Mackie Vee Slay, 82, of Lucedale, Miss., died Nov. 18, 2004, at her residence in Movella, Miss. She was born
April 6, 1922, in Movella, Miss., to the late Murdoch and Carrie Pierce. She was a member of the Movella Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Rev. T.N. Slay; one son, Harold (Linda) Slay of Lucedale; two daughters, Margaret (Owen) Warren of Atlanta, Ga., and Gina Eubanks of Lucedale; granddaughter, Pam (Brent) Barry; grandsons, Jason (Amanda) Slay, Kevin Slay and Jamey Eubanks of Lucedale; granddaughter-in-law, Keisha Eubanks, and three great-granddaughters, Bailey, Katie and Summer, all of Lucedale.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn, and her beloved grandson, Jeremy Eubanks.
Funeral services will be held at the George County Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, with the Rev. Alan Hinton officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19.
Pallbearers will be Harold Slay, Jason Slay, Kevin Slay, Owen Warren, Jamey Eubanks and Brent Barry.

Mrs. Shelba Jean Anderson, 55, of Three Rivers, Miss., died Nov. 7, 2004, in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born
Oct. 31, 1949, in Cleveland, Miss. Mrs. Anderson was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, East Central Chapter No. 393 and Singing River Chapter No. 395 of the Eastern Star, where she was a past Worthy Matron. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents, Noel Wade and Mary Louise White.
Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Anderson of Three Rivers; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Ashley Hutcherson Jr. of Helena; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Danny Walls of Hurley; son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Charlene Anderson of Valdosta, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Billy Boney of Latimer; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.

BRANDHORST
Mr. Jack Arthur Brandhorst, 67, of Gautier, Miss., died Nov. 6, 2004, at Biloxi VA Hospital. He was born
March 13, 1937, in Denver, Colo. Mr. Brandhorst was a retired firefighter from Grand Junction, Colo. He was a Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War. Mr. Brandhorst was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Pascagoula.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Elsie Brandhorst.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley B. Brandhorst of Gautier, Miss.; daughter, Lisa Jones of Columbia, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and William George of Dewitt, Ark.; son, John Brandhorst, and daughter, Sherri Stock, both of Fort Collins, Colo.; five grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Christ Lutheran Church in Pascagoula.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Jon Arbogast officiating.
Graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. Friday in Biloxi National cemetery.

KENNARD
Beverly Gwin Hertel Kennard, 52, and a resident of Gautier, Miss., died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, in Ochsner Foundation Hospital in Jefferson, La.
Mrs. Kennard was a native of Gulfport and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a former gemologist and owner of the American Pawn Shop in Baton Rouge, La., and Ye Olde Gold Shoppe in Gulfport.
Mrs. Kennard was preceded in death by her mother, Iva Madaline Gwin.
Survivors include her husband, Darryl Kennard, of Orlando, Fla.; father and stepmother, Bill and Jan Gwin of Gulfport; a daughter, Rain Mayeux and her husband, Kevin, of Baton Rouge; sister, Billie Koons of Gautier, Miss.; grandchildren, Breck Adele Mayeux and Brenyn Gwin Mayeux, both of Baton Rouge; niece, Sydney Fletcher of Pascagoula, Miss.; and a nephew, J.J. Fletcher, of Gautier.
Visitation will be at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport, on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jim Moore of Abundant Life Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport.
Pallbearers will be Robert Mayeux, Keith Mayeux, Darryl Kennard, Paul Mascagni, Jason Vancel, Adam Vancel, Michael Cashio and Carter Fourrier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Steiner, Lee Vancel, R.D. Dawkins and Dale Mayeux.
Beverly, along with her church, spent her last several years encouraging the youth in her area to attend church. In memory of her loving devotion to organizing a youth center at her church, the family requests donations, in lieu of flowers, to Abundant Life Christian Church, The Youth Center, 2550 Indian Point Road, Gautier, MS 39553.

ANDREWS
Mr. Warren A. Andrews, 75, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Andrews was a native and lifelong resident of the Coast. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer in Biloxi, Miss., and co-owner of Biloxi Lumber and Northside Lumber Companies before retiring. Mr. Andrews served 17 years in the Merchant Marines and was a United States Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Andrews; a sister, Helen Saucier; and two brothers, Walter Andrews Jr. and Joseph Andrews.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Baldassari of San Antonio, Texas and Mildred Patlin of Austin, Texas; two sons, John Walls of Ocean Springs and Gary Walls of Longview, Texas; one sister, Carol Phelps of Gautier; several grandchildren; a special nephew, Brent Phelps; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi, Miss.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer, where friends may visit one hour before service time.
Entombment will follow in Southern Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer Building Fund.
