Jan. 10, 1944, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Mrs. Fender was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond W. Brown.

Mr. Philip Darnell Jones, age 57, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Jan. 22, 2006, in Pascagoula. He was born
March 30, 1948, in Pascagoula. Mr. Jones retired as captain with Pascagoula Fire Department after 26 years of service. He was currently employed with the sheetmetal department of Northrop Grumman. Also, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of Eastlawn Baptist Church.
MCCRORY
Gloria Jean McCrory was born
July 6, 1948, in Philadelphia, Miss., to the late Albert and Tommie Kidd. She moved to Moss Point, Miss., at an early age. She moved to San Bernardino, Calif., where she spent 16 years before returning to Moss Point in 1992. She then met and married
Robert E. McCrory.

Lorie Robinson "L. R." Nelson, 79, of West Fire Department Road, Lucedale, Miss., died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, in his home in Lucedale, Miss.
VINING
Edith Juanita (Clark) Vining, 80, died on Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, in Oxford, Miss. Mrs. Vining was born
on Oct. 5, 1925, in Kreole, Miss. Her lifelong home was in the Forts Lake community, after brief times early in her married
life at the Bunker Hill community (near Ponchatoula, La.) and at Kreole, Miss. She was a member of Franklin Creek Baptist Church.

JONES

LAWRENCE
Horace Selman Lawrence, age 81, a native of Norfolk, Va., and a resident of Gautier, Miss., left this world to be with the good Lord Monday. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gautier and loved his family and the Lord very much. He was very active in the church music his entire life. He was the music director at Peoples Church, Norfolk, Va., Little Creek Baptist Church, Norfolk, Va., Central Baptist Church, Hampton, Va., Bethel Baptist Church, Yorktown, Va., South York Baptist Church, Yorktown, Va. and a member of Glouistier Baptist Church, Glouistier, Va. He also loved to play golf. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II being awarded the Purple Heart and other medals during his service.
MCCANN
Mr. Tom McCann, born
May 25, 1945, a native of Leakesville, Miss., and a resident of Mobile, Ala., departed this life for eternity on Jan. 18, 2006. He was baptized at an early age and was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mable McCann.
PARKER
Mrs. Ruth Lee Gardner Parker died Jan. 21, 2006, at Ocean Springs Hospital. She was the widow of George Edward Parker who died in 1979. She had lived 50 years on Jonte Street in Pascagoula prior to moving to Ocean Springs Nursing Home.

Mr. Larry H. Puzz, Sr., age 74, of D'Iberville, Miss., died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, in Biloxi, Miss.
SHERROD
Thomas Loil Sherrod, Sr., age 82, of Moss Point, Miss., died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, in Lucedale, Miss. Mr. Sherrod was born
July 28, 1923, in Neshoba County, Miss., and has been a resident of Jackson County, Miss., since 1952. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during World War II and with the Air Force Re-serves. In 1985, he retired after 33 years from the International Paper in Moss Point as a crane operator. Arrangements incomplete at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.

Mrs. Patricia C. "Pat" Peattie, 97, of Pascagoula, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, in Pascagoula. She was born
May 13, 1908, in Pretty Prairie, Kansas. Mrs. Peattie graduated from South Western College in 1929 before moving to New York City.

Feb. 21, 1910, in Biloxi, Miss., and has been a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast.
BROWN
John Alwyn Brown, 79, of Philadelphia, Miss., died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia, Miss. He was raised in the Cleveland community of Kemper County and a longtime resident of Moss Point, Miss., where he worked for International Paper Company as a carpenter. After retirement, he moved to Neshoba County in 1978. Mr. Brown was a member of Tucker Community Church in Kemper County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.

Mrs. Ruby Whatley "Dudie" Danley, a native of Pascagoula, Miss., and a lifelong resident of Mobile County, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phelan and Mamie Whatley and one daughter, Teresa Louise Danley.

Benjamin Hobdy Best of Pascagoula, Miss., made his transition from this earth of Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, in Houston, Texas. He had been living in Texas since hurricane Katrina. born
Feb. 1, 1917, in Lincoln, Ala., he was the son of the late Benedict Caleb Best and Leila McRae Best. He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Best Postell. Mr. Best was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Pascagoula and Masonic Lodge No. 416. Ben came to Pascagoula in 1939 from Ingalls Iron Works in Birmingham, Ala., and was em-ployed as a loftsman at Ingalls Shipbuilding for about ten years. He later was an agent for Interstate Life Insurance Company for several years then was an agent for Reserve Security Insurance Company, from which he retired in 1982. BOSWORTH
Mr. George Case Bosworth, 86, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, in Pascagoula. He was born
Nov. 16, 1919, in Litchfield County, Conn. Mr. Bosworth was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a school teacher for many years having taught in Jones and Jasper counties before retiring after 25 years of service with the Pascagoula School System. Mr. Bosworth was a writer of poetry, having won several local, regional and national awards for his work and had written several unpublished novels. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pascagoula.
