Jan. 8, 1934, in Copiah Co., Miss. She has resided in Gautier for the last 13 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hampshire was preceded in death by her parents, Walter L. Dixon Sr. and Leola Maurine Dixon; one sister, L. Elmer Hedegaard; and her devoted husband of 53 years, Howard (Hamp) Hampshire.

Mrs. Estanie "Teenie" Barras Walden, age 90, of Ocean Springs, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Walden was a resident of the Latimer Community and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Odile and Alcide Barras, and her brothers and sisters, Cecile McKreth, Ezora Hebert, Drozen Barras, Evelyn "Frenchie" Barras, and Sanders "Chic" Barras

Mrs. Pamela "Pam" Charlene Goff Cumbest, 50, of Pascagoula, Miss., was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004. She was born
June 26, 1953, in Jackson County, Miss. Pam was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, and a devout member of the Community of Christ Church in Escatawpa.
KIRKWOOD
Mr. James W. Kirkwood Sr., 67, of Lucedale, Miss., died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, in Mobile, Ala. He was born
March 23, 1936, in Pascagoula, Miss.. He was previously employed as a welder for Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was an avid deer hunter and a member of Caswell Springs United Methodist Church. Mr. Kirkwood was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas "Pug" and Elma Alice Kirkwood.
MCKENZIE
Robert Edward McKenzie, 79, died Saturday Feb. 14, 2004 in Pascagoula, Miss. Mr. McKenzie was a World War II and Korean Navy veteran. He was self-employed in the food service industry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Eda McKenzie, and a grandson, Mitch Kempner.
THOMPSON
Mary Blanche Thompson entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born
in Franklinton, La., on June 20, 1932, and spent her early life there.
TORREY
Bennie "Big B" Torrey, 66, of Pascagoula, Miss., was called home to glory on Friday, Feb. 13, 2004. Big B was born
Aug. 1, 1937, to the late William and Luesenda Torrey Sr. in Evergreen, Ala. He was faithful of member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Moss Point and Pas-Point Men Social Club. He retired from the City of Pascagoula and Gautier Utility District. He was preceded in death by both parents, one son, Warren Torrey; two stepchildren, Shirley and Jeanette Mabins, and a brother, Robert Torrey.
WARD
Mrs. Catherine Ann Ward, 58, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, in Pascagoula. She was born
Nov. 6, 1945, in Cullman, Ala. Mrs. Ward was a former employee of Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula and was of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Mr. Ralph and Mrs. Agnes Boike, and a brother, Jim Boike.
HARRISON
Mose Ella "Ms. Sugar" Harrison, 92, of Pascagoula, Miss., died on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. She was one of three surviving siblings from an original group of 23. She was the seventh child born
to the late Mose and Ammie Brown. The two remaining siblings are Newburger Brown of Bruce, Miss., and Cleveland Brown of Marion, Ind. Mrs. Harrison was born
and raised in Holcomb, Miss. and had lived in Pascagoula for the past 15 years. She had lived most of her life in Holcomb with her husband Rev. Melton Harrison, who preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1997. Mrs. Harrison was also preceded in death by two sons, William Grant Harrison and Mose Junior Harrison.
MURPHY
Mr. Walter Neil Murphy Sr., 89, of Vancleave, Miss., died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, in Ocean Springs, Miss. Mr. Murphy was a native of Vancleave and a resident of Grenada, Miss., for 30 years. He retired from Gulf Oil Co., after 26 years of service. Mr. Murphy was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he served in the South Pacific. He was a 1932 graduate of Vancleave High School and a 1938 graduate of Mississippi State University. Mr. Murphy was a member of Vancleave United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Viola Murphy and eight brothers and sisters.

Jeremy Duane Floore, 29 of Pascagoula, Miss., died Feb. 12, 2004 at Singing River Hospital. He was born
Jan. 31, 1974, in Pascagoula.
HAMMONDS
Bettye Lakeisha Hammonds, 34, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004 in Pascagoula. She was born
Nov. 14, 1969 in Poplarville, Miss. Mrs. Hammonds was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Pascagoula. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Sherrill Youngblood. Mrs. Hammonds is survived by a son, Justin Hammonds, and a daughter, Breanna Hammonds, both of Pascagoula; her mother, Brenda Youngblood of Pascagoula; two brothers, Kraig Youngblood of Pascagoula, Kelly Youngblood of Lumberton; and numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at the chapel of Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point with the Rev. Ken Hickman officiating. Arrangements by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss.
LIPPINCOTT
Mildred O. Reynolds Lippincott, was born
on July 15, 1917 in Memphis, Tenn., the oldest of eight children born
to George and Ethel Moore. She was raised in Yazoo City, Miss. Mrs. Lippincott died at her home in Pascagoula on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004.

Grady Willis McLendon, 91, born
Feb. 13, 1912, in Petal, Miss., died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004. He was a resident of Pascagoula, Miss. for the past 62 years.
TANNER
Hazel I. Tanner, 85 of Moss Point, Miss., died Feb. 12, 2004 at her residence. She was born
April 27, 1918 in Pascagoula, Miss. Mrs. Tanner was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Pascagoula. She was a homemaker.
WESTMORELAND
Belva Mae Westmoreland, 100, of Pascagoula and formerly of Grand Junction, Colo., died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born
Aug. 31, 1903 in Colorado and has been a resident of Pascagoula for five years.

Grady Willis McLendon, 91, a native of Petal, Miss., and resident of Pascagoula, Miss. for the past 62 years, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004. Mr. McLendon was a retired Sheet Metal Foreman at Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Past Noble Grand of Pascagoula Lodge #45 of the Independent Order of Oddfellows, and Past President of Local #407 - Sheet Metal Workers Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice R. McLendon; parents, John W. and Lemmie Rodgers McLendon; his daughter, Dorothy Ann Watson and great-grandson, Zach Reed.

Rosa Lee Osby exchanged her life for eternal life Feb. 10, 2004. She was born
Jan. 17, 1923, in Chennyville, La. She was the daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Washington. She was united in marriage to the late Emmett D. Osby. She was a resident of the Moss Point, Pascagoula, Miss. area for 41 years. She was a devoted member of Refuge Church for many years.
WHEELER
Saing Wheeler, a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Monticello, Miss., died at a Mississippi Hospital. He was 70. Mr. Wheeler was a native of Monticello, Miss., and a resident of Gautier, Miss.
ROULLETT
Mr. Earnest Roullett, 93, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Feb. 9, 2004, in Pascagoula. He was born
July 14, 1910, in Blount County, Tenn. Mr. Roullett was a retired construction equipment operator. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Fielding and Una Faye Jackson; and wife, Rebecca Martin Roullett.

Charles David Lewis, 74, of Moss Point, Miss., died Feb. 9, 2004, in Pascagoula, Miss.
STEEN
Mr. George Eldred Steen, Sr., 65, of Moss Point, Miss., died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 in Pascagoula. He was born
Nov. 13, 1938 in Kosciusko, Miss. Mr. Steen was the stock manager of Wayne Lee's Grocery where he had been employed since 1988, and was a member of Miracle Temple Church of Hurley. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. Bennie Eldred Steen, and Mrs. Lois Hammett Steen Browning; an infant son, Jeremy Paul Steen; and his sister, Hettie Roach.

Gertrude Mae Holmes Butt, 86, of Grand Bay, Ala., died Feb. 7, 2004. She was born
Aug. 24, 1917, in Sennett, New York. Mrs. Butt was a retired L.P.N. from Singing River Hospital and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her last husband, Arthur Butt, husband and father of her children, Charles Holmes, four children, Dorothy, Richard, Robert and Stephen Holmes and grandson, Ronnie Holmes.
O'BRIEN
Mr. Edward R. (PEE WEE) O'Brien, 62 of Gautier, Miss., died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004 in Gautier. He was born
on April 10, 1941, in Lamar County, Miss. He moved to Pascagoula, Miss. in 1961. He was employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding from 1962-1987. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arther H. O'Brien and Anita L. O'Brien.
