BLADES
Clark Edward Blades, 54, of Moss Point, Miss., died July 13, 2003 in Ocean Springs, Miss. He was born
May 18, 1949, in Mobile, Ala. Mr. Blades was a truck driver for Gulf Pride Seafood and was of Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy E. Blades; and brother, Randy F. Blades.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Rushing Blades; stepsons, Ronald E. Waller and Benjamin S. Waller, all of Pascagoula; mother, Romanus Blades of St. Andrews; brothers, Richard Blades of Gautier and Rodger Blades of St. Andrews; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Michael Hayes officiating.
Interment will follow at Orange Grove cemetery in Moss Point, Miss.

BRAMLETT
Mary Louise Bramlett, 75, of Pascagoula, Miss, died Saturday, July 12, 2003, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born
July 18, 1927, in Pascagoula and has been a lifelong resident. She graduated from O.L.V. Catholic School in 1945 and was a former employee of The Mississippi Press. She was a member of O.L.V. Catholic Church in Pascagoula.
Mrs. Bramlett was preceded in death by her husband, G.I. Bramlett Jr.; parents, Sidney Eugene Spratley and Bessie Louise Spratley; brother, Eddie Spratley; and infant son, Grady Durwood Bramlett.
She is survived by two daughters and three sons, Jimmy Bramlett (Belynda), Pascagoula, Miss.; Gene Bramlett (Connie), Vancleave, Miss.; Bill Bramlett (Bonnie), Laurel, Miss.; Louellen Bramlett, Pascagoula, Miss.; Lois Dunn (Mike), Pascagoula; one brother, Arthur Spratley (Catherine), Gulfport, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, Miss. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula with Father Gerard Cleary officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the O.L.V. Building Fund.
Interment will be at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula, Miss.

CHRISTIAN
Robert Wilson Christian, 90, of Lucedale, Miss., born
April 20, 1913, in George County, Miss., passed away July 10, 2003. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years and mother of the children, Adele Edwards Christian; a granddaughter, Darlene Rogers; and five sisters, Dossie Howell, Minnie Middleton, Hazel Howell, Vernon Roe and Dorothy Estes.
Survivors include his wife, Gaynell Carter Christian; three daughters, June (John) Casey, Lucedale, Sherree (Jeff) Rogers, Lucedale, and Marie (Bobby) Dunaway, Lucedale; two sons, Bobby J. (Willa) Christian, Saraland, Ala., Wayne (Kay) Christian, Lucedale; four stepdaughters, Brenda Roberts, Lucedale, Vesta (Carroll) Clifford, Gautier, Marrinell Cumbest, Vancleave, Miss., and Sandy (Don) Daugherty, Vancleave; two stepsons, Paul Grayson "Neba" (Barbara) Carter, Vancleave, Michael (Leeann) Carter, Vancleave; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Eula Mae Stonecypher, Lucedale.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Howell Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Carl Christian and Bro. Wyman Bradley officiating.
Interment will be in Howell Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.

HARRIS
Thelma Gray William Chaney Harris departed this life for her heavenly home at the age of 70 on Wednesday, July 9, 2003, in Ocean Springs, Miss.
Mrs. Harris was born
July 6, 1933 in Butler, Ala., to the late Levi William and the late Myra Chaney.
She was a longtime resident of Vancleave, Miss., and member of the Good Hope Baptist Church and was employed by the Jackson County School System for many years.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Reginald Harris, Sr.; one son, Arthur D. Harris; and two sisters and four brothers.
Mrs. Harris was a devoted mother, a loving sister, a cherished grandmother and a great friend. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, three daughters, Johnnie M. (Howard) Shelton and Mary J. Harris, both of Moss Point and Helen (Baron) Flood of Jacksonville, N.C.; seven sons, Roy L. Harris, Reginald Harris, Jr., Edgar Harris and Gregory L. Harris, all of Vancleave, Michael (Kiyoko) Harris of Tokyo, Japan, Davey (Nicole) Harris of Chicago, Ill., and Tyler Harris of Vancleave; two brothers, Roy (Patricia) Buxton of Vancleave and Ray (Willie Mae) Buxton of Ocean Springs; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends; including a very devoted niece, Annette Jackson of Vancleave and a devoted friend, Samuel Sipp of Moss Point.
Visitation will be Monday, July 14, 2003, from 6:00 p.m., to 8:00 p.m. at the Good Hope Baptist Church, 9313 Jim Ramsey Loop, Vancleave, Miss. Mrs. Harris will lie in state Tuesday, July 15, 2003, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Going Home Celebration beginning at 11:00 a.m., where Pastor Tommie Catchings will deliver the eulogy and words of comfort to the family.

EVANS
Mr. Charles Earl Evans, 74, of Vaiden, Miss., died July 11, 2003 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood, Miss.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner, avid outdoorsman and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ocean Springs, Miss.
He is the former owner of Evans Electric. He is also a retired distribution line foreman previously with Irby Const., and Singing River EPA.
Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lois Evans; a brother, Carl Evans and his first wife, Pauline Fisher Evans.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Fisher Evans of Vaiden, Miss.; daughter Judy Evans Smith of Aberdeen, Miss., and stepdaughter, Pam Browning of Vaiden, Miss.; three sons, Charles Evans Jr., of Ocean Springs, Miss., Jerry Evans of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Terry Evans of Ft. Worth, Texas; sisters, Martha Wright and Kathy McLaughlin, both of Winona, Miss.; brother, Joe Evans of Winona, Miss.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2003.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., today, July 13, 2003 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Toby Yelverton will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Leon Holly.
Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Pallbearers are Chas Evans, Stephen Weathers, Kevin Browning, Joey Evans, Myron Braswell, Charles Ellis, Andrew Evans and Chris Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Cook, J.B. Bailey, Bernard Sanders, George Ellis, Buddy Welch, Willie Wilson and Henry Wilson.

Mrs. Frankie Clark Monroe, 87, died July 12, 2003, at George County Hospital in Lucedale, Miss. Mrs. Monroe was a native of Poplarville, Miss., a resident of 1286 Depot Road, Lucedale, a homemaker, and a member of Lucedale Garden Club and the First Baptist Church of Lucedale.
Mrs. Monroe was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Monroe Sr.; and three daughters, Gailya Chance of Ridgeland, Miss., Barbara Moore of Cleveland, Miss. and Janice Presley of Jonesboro, Ga.
Survivors include four children, Susan Monroe Kershaw of Glasgow, Scotland, Carol Jernigan of Plano, Texas, Elynn Dickerson of Demopolis, Ala., and John T. Monroe Jr. of Purvis, Miss.; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lola Delle Stewart of Picayune, Miss.,
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at Sigler Funeral Home.
The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Louis Nicolosi and the Rev. Bud Parker will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Magnolia cemetery in Lucedale, Miss.

SIMMS
Hazel Womack Simms, 91, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. The funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street in Jackson. Burial was in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation was at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Simms was born
on April 17, 1912, in Conway, Ark. She earned a bachelor's degree from Lambuth College in Jackson, Tenn., where she was a nationally-recognized basketball player. Upon graduation, she spent several years as a high school teacher and as a social worker. In 1938, she married
Lymann Mood Simms Sr. As a homemaker, Mrs. Simms resided in Jackson for more than 40 years. She was a former member of Capitol Street Methodist Church. After Mr. Simms' retirement as a Jackson educator, the couple moved to Pascagoula, where Mrs. Simms lived until her death. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pascagoula. Mrs. Simms is preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Richard E. Womack; three sisters, Lucille Womack Bates, Elma Lee Womack Hicks and Helen Womack; and two brothers; Richard Womack and Robert Womack.
Survivors include a sister, Edith Womack Bates of Blanchester, Ohio; daughter, Lynn Simms Duncan of Pascagoula; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Lyman Moody Simms Jr. and Barbara Griffin Simms of Bloomington, Ill.; grandchildren, Stacy Simms Mattia and husband Mike of Princeton Junction, N.J., Paige Simms Chorske and husband Matt of Littleton, Colo., Ashley Duncan Logsdon and husband Mark of Amarillo, Texas, and Clay Duncan of Santa Monica, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren.
