HAWKINS
William Hillard Hawkins, II, 65, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Pascagoula. He was born icon Oct. 22, 1937, in Biloxi, Miss. Mr. Hawkins was a retired field representative from the Eaton Corporation. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. William H. and Mrs. Jewel Ball Hawkins.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Doris Hawkins of Pascagoula; two sons and daughters-in-law, William Hillard III and Sandy Hawkins of Little Rock, Ark., Richard and Danette Hawkins of Jacksonville, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Stephen Capdepom of Pascagoula, and Vickie and Thomas Cox of Grand Bay, Ala.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Drew and Dot Hawkins of Vicksburg, and Bob and Sandra Hawkins of Greenville, S.C.; a sister and brother-in-law, Jewel and Roy Roberts of Maryville, Tenn.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joe Spence and the Rev. Randy Griffin officiating.
Interment will follow in Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula

SPEED
Joyce Lee (Tennison) Speed, 69, owner of Bargain Barn Baseball Shop in Gautier, Miss. passed away comfortably at her home after a long battle of cancer on Wednesday, July 23, 2003. She was active in local affairs in the Gautier Community and was a contributor to many civic and environmental organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden Ellis Speed of Ellisville, Miss.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph and Fern Tennison of Paragould, Ark.
She was survived by her son and two daughters, George T. Vassey and fiancee, Yvette Griffin, Gulfport, Miss.; Paula Vassey-Sheppard, Gautier; Leticia Vassey-Wilcockson, Gautier; granddaughter, Cali Ariel Wilcockson, Gautier; sisters, Pat Tennison Adams (Paul); Linda Tennison Faulkner (Starr), Deborah Tennison Klingensmith (David); nephews, Timothy "Tim" H. Matlock, Anthony "Tony" A. Faulkner; niece, Starla K. Wood; special cousin, Royce R. Matlock, Singapore; Ms. Joyce was loved by many special friends and extended family members.
Visitation will be Friday, July 25, 2003, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at O'Bryant O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 26, 2003, 2 p.m., at the funeral home chapel with Brother Chad Wood officiating.
Interment will be at Crestlawn cemetery Ocean Springs, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Bill Burns, Tim Waugn, John Waugn, Tim Matlock, Tony Faulkner, and James Allen.
Donations may be made in her memory to Oschner Foundation in New Orleans or Rhonda Crane Youth Home in Pascagoula, Miss.

STEWART
Ruby Lucille Stewart, of Escatawpa, Miss., died Friday July 25, 2003 in Escatawpa, Miss. She was born icon in Mendenhall, Miss., and has been a resident of Jackson County since 1948. She was a past member of Jackson Avenue Baptist Church in Pascagoula. She is preceded in death by her husband; Capt. Donald Stewart, parents; Luther "Luke" and Ada Sullivan, and brother; Ray Layton.
She is survived by her son; Bo Stewart, daughter; Donna Stewart, three sisters; Wilma Kennedy, Dorothy Slay, and Virginia Runnels, two grandchildren; Danielle Stewart, Briana Stewart, and great-granddaughter; Madison Hewitt.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 27, 2003, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 28, 2003, 10 a.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula with Rev. Bill Barton officiating.
Pallbearers will be James Black, Robert Rogers, Rodney Rogers, James Kershaw, Donald Kennedy, and Christopher Kennedy.

SILBERMAN
Lillian May Silberman, 88, of Pascagoula, Miss., died July 16, 2003. She was born icon April 15, 1915, in Philadelphia, Penn. Mrs. Silberman worked as a legal secretary and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Louis Silberman of Pascagoula; son and daughter-in-law, David and Cynthia Silberman of Louisville, Ken.; sister, Mabel Regan of Penn.; two grandchildren, Tristian and Farrah Silberman of Ken.; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Thursday, July 24, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point.
The service will be Friday, July 25, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating.
Interment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa.

WAUGH
Mr. James R. "Bob" Waugh, age 73, of Biloxi, Miss., died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in Biloxi. Mr. Waugh was a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and had been a coast resident for the past 43 years. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a semi-retired paint contractor. He was an avid fisherman. Mr. Waugh was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Gallop Waugh.
He is survived by three sons; David Waugh and wife, Barbara, of Ocean Springs, James M. Waugh of Escatawpa and Tim Waugh of Gautier; a brother, Charles Waugh of Gautier; and one grandson, Frank Waugh.
On Saturday, July 26, 2003, there will be a 2 p.m. memorial service on the bank of Parkers Lake in Wade, Miss., followed by the scattering of the cremated remains on Parkers Lake.
Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SASSER
Raymond L. Sasser, 73, of Pascagoula, Miss., died July 23, 2003, at his residence. He was born icon June 18, 1930, in Wayne County, Miss. Mr. Sasser retired as a Lab Tech from International Paper Company after 38 years of service. A U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the American Legion, VFW and DAV organizations. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Sasser was preceded in death by his parents, Davis and Bessie Sasser; grandson, Shannon H. DeCuir; sister, Margie Porter; and brother-in-law, Grady Rushton.
Survivors include his wife, Iva Sue Sasser of Pascagoula; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan L. (Gail) Sasser of Gautier; daughter and son-in-law, Edna Doshea (Manuel) Whatley of Pascagoula; sister, Lavada Rushton of Laurel; brothers, H.C. Sasser of Silsbee, Texas, Roland Sasser of Escatawpa and O.D. Sasser of Houma, La.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula.

BOWLING
Mr. James H. Bowling, a native of Lendrith, N.M. and longtime resident of Moss Point, Miss., died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at the age of 82.
Mr. Bowling was a retired United States Senior Chief Engineman and Submariner serving in both World War II and the Korean conflict. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Morgan of Seattle, Wash., and Gay Morton of San Francisco, Calif.; two grandsons, Jerry and Joe Morgan of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Freda Waring of Dallas, Texas, and Adah Mae Hobbs of Austin, Texas; one brother, Fred T. Bowling of Los Alamos, N.M.; two nieces, Rhonda Bowling and Luanne Wilton of Metarie, La.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 24, from noon until 2 p.m., at Holder-Wells Funeral Home.
Graveside services will follow at Machpelah cemetery with the Rev. Father Patrick Hayes officiating. Full military honors will be rendered at the grave site by the United States Navy Honor Guard.

MYERS
Mrs. Rita Joyce Krebs Myers, 73, of Pascagoula, Miss., died peacefully at her home July 19, 2003, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born icon July 21, 1929, in Pascagoula, and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Myers graduated from Pascagoula High School and attended Mississippi State College for Women. She retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after working 30 years in various engineering departments. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Pascagoula where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Mrs. Myers loved her Lord, her church and her family. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed music and loved working in her flower beds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Roy and Mrs. Jessie Krebs, and by her brother-in-law, Bill Portas.
Mrs. Myers is survived by her husband of 54 years, Mr. Malcolm Aubrey "Mac" Myers of Pascagoula; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Roy M. and Tina Myers of Pascagoula, Brad Myers of New Orleans, La., Ricky and Tina Myers of Sumrall; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jessie and Tiny Portas of Gautier, Miss., and Joan and John Griffin of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Sandra Krebs of Virginia Beach, Va.; four grandchildren, Travis Myers and Allison Myers, both of Pascagoula, and Peyton Myers and Luke Myers, both of Sumrall, Miss.
Visitation will be Tues., July 22, 2003, from 6-9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Services will be Wed., July 23, 2003, at 11 a.m. from First Baptist Church of Pascagoula with Dr. Rex Yancey and Rev. Dennis Ray Smith officiating.
There will be a one-hour visitation in the church prior to service time.
Entombment will follow at Krebs cemetery located next to Old Spanish Fort in Pascagoula.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The First Baptist Church of Pascagoula Building Fund, the Hospice of Light or the American Cancer Society.

KINTON
Joseph Ralph Kinton Sr., 92, a native of Hattiesburg, Miss., and a resident of Pascagoula, Miss., passed from this life on Monday, July 14, 2003. He was born icon November 4, 1910 in Dyer, Tenn., and married icon Thelma Rouse of Hattiesburg in 1932. He served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Kinton was a faithful Christian and worshiped at both the Handy Street Church of Christ in Hattiesburg and the Central Church of Christ in Pascagoula. He was self-employed in the grocery business until his retirement and then became employed for 19 years as a security officer as-signed to the front entrance of Singing River Hospital. He will be remembered for his outstanding love and dedication to his family and his desire to serve his fellow man.
Mr. Kinton was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Thelma Rouse Kinton; and his parents, Birdie and Richard Kinton.
Survivors include a sister, Harviet Kinton Stovall, of Madison, Miss.; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Ralph Kinton Jr. and Elaine Kinton, of Hattiesburg; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda Kinton Lingle and Robert L. Lingle Sr., of Pascagoula; grandchildren, Wendy Kinton Underhill and husband, Doug, of Pensacola, Fla., Sherrie Kinton and Jason Kinton, of Hattiesburg, Miss., Kellie Kinton, of Richland, Miss., Robert L. Lingle Jr. and wife, Betty, of Atlanta, Ga., Misha Lingle Christian and husband, Neston; Lori Lingle Christian and husband, Marc, and Cindy Lingle, all of Nashville, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 19, 9 to 11 a.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
Funeral will follow at 11 a.m., at the funeral home chapel with Robert L. Lingle Jr. officiating.
Graveside service and interment will be at 3:30 p.m. at Highland Park cemetery, Hattiesburg, Miss.
Memorials may be made to the Central Church of Christ, P. O. Box 2104, Pascagoula, Miss. 39581.
