TYRONE
Julia Gill Tyrone, 88, of Vancleave, Miss., died March 29, 2003 at Simmons Personal Care Home, Vancleave, Miss. Mrs. Tyrone was born icon Sept. 26, 1914 in Success, Miss. She lived most of her life in the coastal area. She was of the Methodist faith and a loving mother. Mrs. Tyrone loved flowers and had a beautiful flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Adilene Gill; her husband, Talmadge Tyrone; five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by one son, Thomas D. (Martha) Tyrone of Pascagoula, Miss.; one daughter, Ann (Curtis) Herbert of Pascagoula, Miss.; six grandchildren, Julie Herbert of Ocean Springs, Miss., Tina (David) Shumate, of Ocean Springs, Curtis (Virginia) Herbert Jr., of Mandeville, La., Samantha Herbert of Baton Rouge, La., Louisiana, Diane (Mitch) Mitchell of Long Beach, Miss., Julie Price Williams of Orange Beach, Ala.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2003 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of O'Bryant O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss. Mrs. Tyrone's nephew, Rev. Clinton Gill, will officiate the service assisted by Rev. Gary Knight. Interment will be at Bond cemetery in north Harrison County.

LINTON
Charlie Gerald Linton, 72, passed away at his home in Gautier, Miss., on March 27, 2003. Mr. Linton was born icon in Pascagoula on November 17, 1930. Mr. Linton received a degree in chemistry from the University of Mississippi. He was employed by Mississippi Chemical for 29 years and Ingalls Shipbuilding for six years until his retirement in 1994. He served our country in the Korean War and was a member of the National Guard Battery B 631st. Mr. Linton was a member of Dantzler Memorial United Methodist Church and a former member of the YMBC of Moss Point. He was an avid supporter of the Touch Down Club and Babe Ruth Baseball at Moss Point High School. Mr. Linton was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Albert and Mamie Estelle Holyfield Linton; his sister, Dorothy Linton and his brother, Marvin Linton.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Liz) Linton of Gautier; two sons, Dr. Gary Linton and his wife, Gina of Morgantown, W.Va.,
Bruce Linton of Moss Point; sister, Carolyn Smith of East Taunton, Mass.; one brother, Jimmy and wife, Evelyn Linton of Moss Point; one stepson and wife, Robert J. and Kathy Sutton of Hattiesburg, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Debra O'Bannon and husband Tom, Patricia Myrick and husband, Mike of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren, Brooke Sutton, Anthony Parker and Joshua Sutton, all of Hattiesburg; one very special great granddaughter, Isabella Grace Sutton of
Hattiesburg; and several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held, Saturday, March 29, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 30, at 3 p.m., from Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Murphy Young officiating.
Interment will be at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Johnnie Linton, John Boyd, Jerry Alexander, Ronnie Hamilton, Terry Robbins and Billy Alfred.

LADNIER
Roberta "Bertie" Ladnier, 95, of Pascagoula, Miss., born icon June 13, 1907, in Jackson County, Miss., died Monday, March 24, 2003, in Pascagoula. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Ladnier.
Survivors include her son, James Ladnier; and granddaughter, Haley Ladnier.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 26, from noon to 2 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Father Gerard Cleary officiating.
Burial will be in Machpelah cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.

WOODWARD
Mr. Stan Woodward, 51, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died Sunday March 23, 2003, in Ocean Springs, Miss. Mr. Woodward was a native of Poplarville, Miss. He was a member of United Way of Jackson and George County, the Ocean Springs Lions Club, Singing River Facilities Foundation, Singing River Group Home, Singing River Services, Mississippi Association of School Business Officials, the U.S.M. Alumni Association and the P.S.C. Credit Union Board. He also received a Bachelors of Science Degree from U.S.M., a Master of Science, Business Administration from Kennedy Western University and held a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education from Kennedy Western University. Dr. Woodward was a longtime employee of Moss Point School District. He was a Southern Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Edward Woodward.
Survivors include his adoring wife of 26 years, Barbara J. Woodward of Ocean Springs; two daughters, Pam Surface of Dayton, Ohio, Kim Nelson of Bradenton, Fla.; mother, Zora Woodward of Poplarville, Miss.; four sisters, Dianne Woodward of Ocean Springs, Elaine Key of Lucedale, Miss., Teresa Hagwood of Saucier, Miss., Nadine Stephens of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ocean Springs Chapel.
On Wednesday, March 26, there will be a 10 a.m. chapel service at Ocean Springs Chapel.
Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hagwood, Keith Key, Larry Gartman, Brian Wright, Donald Roache, Richie Heath, Jerry Alexander, and Jerry Henry. Brother Bob Henley will be conducting the service, Chris Henley will be the soloist and Kevin Benefield will be the organist.

HUDSON
Shirley Hudson, 46, of Helena, died March 21, 2003, in Helena, Miss. She was born icon in Clearmont, Fla. She was a resident of Helena most of her life.
Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert and Annie Hudson of Helena, Miss., and many other relatives and friends.
Private graveside services were held Sunday, March 24, at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa, Miss.
Jackson County Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.

FREEMAN
Christopher R."Chris" Freeman Sr., 42, died in Helena on March 19, 2003. Mr. Freeman was born icon in Jackson County, Ms. on May 28, 1960, and had lived in Jackson County his entire life.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents John Lee & Meady Freeman. He is survived by his wife Monia Freeman of Helena, Ms.; a daughter, Amber Freeman of Ocean Springs, Miss.; two sons, Zackry and Christopher R. Freeman Jr. both of Vancleave, Miss.; three sisters, Shelia Myrick of Escatawpa, Miss., Donna Freeman of Hurley, Miss., Martha Johnson of Moss Point, Miss., and a brother-in-law, Ricky Stringfellow of Hurley, Miss., numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Monday March 24, 2003 at the Orange Grove Assembly of God Church in Moss Point, Miss. from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Graveside services will be Tuesday March 25, 2003 at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa, Miss. at 11 a.m. Holder Wells in charge of arrangements.

HAMILTON
Richard Wayne Hamilton, age 59, of Pascagoula, Miss., died on March 20, 2003. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anela Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Nicole Hamilton of Pascagoula; a son, Wayne McCoy Hamilton, of Sacramento, Calif.; his father and step-mother, D.W. and Virginia Hamilton, of Brandon, Miss.; a brother and sister-in-law, McCoy and Marjorie Hamilton of Brandon, Miss.; another brother and sister-in-law, Dexter and Melanie Hamilton of Houston, Texas; and a devoted former wife, and caretaker, Pamela Hamilton Higginbotham of Pascagoula.
Mr. Hamilton practiced law in Jackson County, Miss., for 27 years. He held a Master's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Microbiology and conducted doctoral studies from the same University in Virology. He graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1976. Mr. Hamilton was a member of the Miss. Bar Association, the Jackson County Bar Association, the Pascagoula Elks Lodge, and was an active member for many years of the Krewe of Ulysses. Mr. Hamilton has practiced law before all local and county courts, state courts, U.S. Courts of Appeal and even the U.S. Supreme Court. For years, Mr. Hamilton was involved in Coast theater productions, served as the Master of Ceremonies for many Mardi Gras balls, played golf and was a totally devoted father.
Cremation arrangements are through Jackson County Funeral Services. At his request, Mr. Hamilton wants his ashes to be spread around Horn Island in the Mississippi Sound. His wishes will be honored by his family at a later date. Memorial service will be held in the chapel at Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa, Miss., on Sunday, March 23, 2003, at 6 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be T. Larry Wilson, Jerry Hutcherson, Mark Knighton, Kenneth Robertson, Bernard Gautier, Don Sigalas, George Shaddock and Raul Quintana.
Because there will be no burial, the family respectfully requests that no floral arrangements be sent. Instead, contributable donations to the American Diabetes Association will be appreciated.

ROBERTS
Miss. Mary Virginia Roberts died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Miss. Miss. Roberts was born icon November 9, 1911, at Shipman, Miss. She was a graduate of Mississippi State Teachers College, Hattiesburg, Miss., and retired as a school teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Roberts; three sisters, Ms. Daisy Roberts, Ms. Louise Roberts, and Ms. Dorothy Roberts; one brother, Dr. Richard Angus Roberts; and a nephew, R.A. (Dickie) Roberts, Jr.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mrs. R.A. (Catherine) Roberts; one nephew and his wife, Dr.'s W.J. (Bill) and Diana Roberts of Lake Villa, Ill.; three nieces, Mollie Roberts of Pensacola, Fla., Cathy Roberts of River Ridge, La., Libby Roberts of Moss Point, Miss.; and two great-nieces, Ms. Megan Roberts and Ms. Katie Roberts of Lake Villa, Ill., and many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, March 24, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ray McCorkle and the Rev. Otis Lewelling officiating.
Interment will be at Union cemetery in Moss Point, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Denson Smith, Gene Smith, Larry Carpenter, Richard Canfield, Arnel Adams and Floyd Lacy.
