PAYNE
Rev. Victor James Payne, 59, of Charlotte, N.C., died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Carolinas Medical Center on Thursday, April 3, after a lengthy illness. He was born icon July 9, 1943, in Gulfport, Miss., and grew up in Lucedale, Miss. Rev. Payne was a true soldier of the cross as a Baptist minister for 43 years of active service. He served churches in Kentucky, Indiana, Mississippi, Texas and The Carolinas. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Dr. Peggy Langley Payne, a nursing professional; one daughter, Cathy Payne Anderson, Minister of Children at First Baptist Church, Asheville, N.C., where she resides with husband Bruce Anderson; and children, one son, James Gordon Payne of Hollywood, Calif. and fiance Jenn Marlier; three brothers, John Gordon Payne, Lucedale, Miss., Rodney Michael Payne and wife Carlene, Montgomery, Ala., Van Chancey Payne and wife Gwen of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Rebecca Lisa Payne of Richmond, Va.; two granddaughters, Gracie and Abby Anderson of Asheville, N.C.; nephews, John Payne, Jr. and wife Winnie, Justin Payne and wife Nicole, Larry Sanders and wife Marsha, David Millholin, Michael Loutzenheizer, Dakota Langley, Lavone Langley, Hunter Zeb Langley; nieces, Mandy Carroll and husband Wes, Jennifer Payne, Belinda Gomez and husband Juan, Christa Steele and husband Luckey; in-laws, Nella and Jack Sanders, Nancy and Bob Milhollin, Roy and Minnie Loutzenheizer, Luke and Jonnie Langley, Bill and Lana Langley; and 11 great nieces and great nephews.
Vic lived his life for his Christ and others. He was Son of Godly Parents, Blessed Brother of Loving Brothers and Sisters, Husband of his Best Friend, Father of Treasured Children, Grandfather of Beloved Grandchildren, A Soldier of the Cross.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at his church Eastern Hills Baptist Church on Saturday, April 5, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Stuart Arnold and Rev. Dr. David Myers officiating. The family will receive friends at the Wilson Chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 5301 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, N.C. Rev. Payne will lie in state at Eastern Hills Baptist Church from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning. The family will receive friends at the Wilson Chapel from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Services in Lucedale, Miss. will be Tuesday, April 8, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Lucedale. The family will receive friends at the Church two hours before the service. Interment will follow in Magnolia cemetery.

Shumake
Ke'Wan James Shumake, infant, of Gautier, Miss., departed this life at his home in God's heavenly kingdom on April 5, 2003. He is preceded in death by great-grandparents Alfred Leo James Watson and Missouri Shumake.
Ke'Wan leaves to bereave his departure from earth his mother, Cha'Brika D. Shumake; father, Terry Jones; one sister, Alaysia N. Jones; grandparents, Elbert Sr. and Shirley E. Shumake and Billy J. and Annie Jones; great grandmother, Mattie Watson; one aunt, Doska L. Shumake; four uncles, Elbert Shumake Jr., Fred (Katrina) Holloway, Chaing Jones and Jermaine Jones; one "special" great aunt and caregiver, Jacqueline Jackson; and a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins and family friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 8, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Millender's Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at 1 p.m., at Scranton cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss. Services of love rendered by Millender's Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss.

BOSARGE
Jerry E. Bosarge, 60, born icon July 31, 1942, in Pascagoula Miss., died April 2, 2003, in Pascagoula Miss. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County, and a Retired Self Employed Contractor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Bertie Bosarge.
Survivors include his wife, Libby Bosarge of Hurley; two sons, Randy Bosarge and his wife, Beth Stork Bosarge of Ocean Springs, Bart Bosarge and his wife, Kathleen Bosarge of Bossier City La.; one daughter, Alison Bosarge Tillman and her husband, Paul Tillman of Ocean Springs, Mary Alice Gardner of Ocean Springs, mother of Randy, Alison, and Bart; two stepdaughters, Michelle Wilson and her husband, Tony Whitehead, Lisa Danis and her husband, Wayne Danis of Hurley, Miss.; two stepsons, Mike Seback and his wife, Sheri Seback of Fairhope Ala., John Seback of Hurley; six granddaughters, Danielle and Hillary Bosarge of Ocean Springs, Tiffany Bosarge of Vancleave, Miss., Kylie and Kayla Tillman of Ocean Springs; 11 grandsons Bobby and Bryan Bosarge of Ocean Springs, Destin Bobinger of Ocean Springs, Aaron Bosarge of Vancleave, Blake Bosarge of Bossier City, La., Jason and Drew Wilson of Hurley, Joshua and Jordan Danis of Hurley, Jonathan and Adam Seback of Hurley; one brother, Douglas Bosarge of Pascagoula; four sisters Elaine George of Pascagoula, Maureen Stringfellow of Gautier, Miss., Wanda Martin and her husband, William H. Martin of Escatawpa Miss., Sandra Johnson and her husband, Larry Johnson of Pascagoula; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., on Monday, April 7, at Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, from the funeral home chapel with burial following at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula. The Rev Rodger Bradley will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Larry Johnson, Caylum Johnson, David George, Shannon George, David Saksa, Christopher Saksa, Tony Whitehead, and Eric Danis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Roland Hysell, Clay Boler, Rudy Rel and Henry Noblitt.

ISHAM
Sidney Isham, 42, died Thursday, April 3, 2003 in Pascagoula, Miss. Mr. Isham was born icon on April 1, 1961 in Pascagoula, Miss. He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Emma Isham. Survivors include two bothers and a sister-in-law; Richard and Nancy Isham of Grand Bay, Ala., Olan Isham of Escatawpa, Miss, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 6, 2003 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Holder Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 7, 2003 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Tim Cauley. Burial will follow at the W.R. Clark Memorial cemetery in Forts Lake. Holder Wells is in charge of arrangements.

KREBS
William Oliver Krebs, 32, died Friday, April 4, 2003 in Pascagoula, Miss. Krebs was born icon October 7, 1970 in Pascagoula, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his father Oliver J. Krebs and a brother, James C. Krebs. Survivors include his mother, Edith Krebs of Pascagoula, Miss.; one sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Joey Anderson of Pascagoula, Miss.; a niece, Kristy Anderson and a nephew, Trey Anderson of Pascagoula, Miss., a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2003 at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula, Miss.
Donations may be made to the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church building fund. Holder Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

COOLEY
Jewel P. Cooley, 74 of Pascagoula, Miss., was called to rest Thursday, March 27, 2003. Mrs. Cooley was born icon March 29, 1928 in Wayne County, Miss. She was a homemaker and also worked several years in retail sales. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Cooley; her parents, T.W. and Temperance Edwards Pitts; four brothers, William C. Pitts, Herman Pitts, Arthur Lewis Pitts and Auten Ray Pitts; two sisters, Billie Faye Griffin and Mildred P. Sanders.
Survivors include one son, L'Dwyer (Darlene) Cooley, Vancleave, Miss.; two daughters, Annie Ruth (Clifford) Beardsley, Gautier, Miss., and Alice Faye (James A.) Ferrill, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Robert Earl Pitts, Laurel, Miss., Henry Glen Pitts, Waynesboro, Miss.; two sisters, Mary Alice Brewer, Pascagoula, Miss., and Rachel Findley, Richton, Miss.; three grandsons, Robert C. Beardsley, John D. Cooley and Roy E. Ferrill; one granddaughter, Bridget D. Wilson and six great-granddaughters.
Mrs. Cooley will be greatly missed among her family and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 30, 2003 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa, Miss.
Services will be Monday, March 31, 2003 at 10 a.m., from the chapel of Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa with Brother Brad Holt officiating.
Burial will be at Serene Memorial Gardens, Escatawpa, Miss.
Jackson County Funeral Services, Escatawpa, Miss., is in charge of arrangements.

EDSON
Ronnie D. Edson, Sr., 65, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died Saturday, March 29, 2003 in Ocean Springs, Miss. Mr. Edson was born icon in Evergreen, Ala., and was a resident of Ocean Springs since 1973. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Paylor Edson of Ocean Springs, Miss.; three daughters, Ronda Edson and Renee Pettis of Pascagoula, Miss. and Donna Shields of Moss Point, Miss.; four sons, Danny Edson of Gautier, Miss., David Chewning and Alan Chewning of Ocean Springs, Miss., Dale Chewning of Long Island, New York; two brothers, James Edson of Spanish Fort, Ala., and Cullen Edson of Saucier, Miss.; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2003, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, Miss., where friends may visit one hour before service time. The family prefers memorials be made to the South Mississippi Regional Center, 1170 W. Railroad Street, Long Beach, MS 39560.

HILL
Mr. R. B. Hill was born icon in Choctaw County, Ala., on August 28, 1928. He was born icon to the union of the late Mr. Ed and Lena Hill. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Ed and Lean Hill; his first wife, Mrs. Jessie Mac McCann Hill; one son, Mr. R. B. Hill, Jr.; one daughter, Mrs. Syvil Harris; and one brother, Mr. Edward Hill.
Mr. Hill moved his family from Stateline, Miss., to Jackson County in the early sixties. Mr. Hill was a hard worker. He was employed for many years at H. K. Porter until the plant closed. Later he went to work at Ingalls Shipbuilding until he became disabled in 1988. He was a devoted father to his six children after the death of his wife.
In his passing, Mr. Hill leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mrs. Mary Cato Hill; his devoted children; two daughters, Cynthia (Joe) Davis and Felshia Hill; two sons, Tale (Flora) Hill and David Wayne Hill, all of Moss Point; seven stepchildren, Gale (Artis) Crowther of Gautier, Miss., James (Mary) Brown of Moss Point, Willie (Edna) Middleton Jr., of Escatawpa, Miss., Sidney (Phyllis) Middleton of Virginia, Gail (Preston) Carolyn (Eddie) Choice, Sandrea (Ronnie) Davis, and Erica (Raymond) Parker; one devoted son-in-law, Willie Harris of Moss Point; five sisters, Mrs. Mattie Lewis of Oakland Calif., Mrs. Annie Lee Martin, Mrs. Bertha (Fred) Cato, Mrs. Lucille (Flavor) Loper, all of Moss Point, and Mrs. Mammie (L. S.) Richardson, of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Earnest (Bernistine) Hill, of Moss Point; 13 grandchildren; 24 step grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dedicated friends.
Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Meridian Street Church of Christ, 4524 Meridian St., Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral Services will follow also from the church with the Minister Sidney Earl Leverette officiating.
Interment will be in Stateline cemetery, Stateline, Miss.

Alton Brazier Letts, 70, of Monroeville, Ala., died Friday, March 28, 2003 at this residence. He was born icon in Maryland and was a joiner at Ingalls Shipbuilding and member of the Ezel Masonic Lodge #426 F &AM, Vancleave, Miss.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Coker Letts of Monroeville, Ala.; a daughter, Marcia (Delbert) Allman of Prattville, Ala.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2003 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss. Graveside funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at Vancleave cemetery #2, with full Masonic rights. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Joppa Shrine Temple, 13280 Highway 67, Biloxi, Miss. 39532.

MILLER
Mr. Richard Charles Miller, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died Friday, March 28, 2003, in Ocean Springs. He was a resident of the community for ten years, and formerly of Pennsylvania and Delaware. Mr. Miller was a pipefitter for Scott Paper for 42 years and retired as a Foreman. He was a Protestant and attended First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Madeline Ruth Miller of Ocean Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Joan Miller Penny and husband, Donald, Sr., of Ocean Springs; son, Wayne Gary Miller of Gautier; four grandchildren, Doris Penny Fust of Ocean Springs, Lisa Michelle Smith, and husband, Don, of Ocean Springs, Donald Penny, Jr. of Ocean Springs, Sarah Elizabeth Miller of Laurel, Miss.; four great grandchildren, Devin, Andrea, Cameron, Joshua, Shelby, and Skylar.
Visitation will be Monday, March 31, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Ocean Springs.
Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs.
Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, 602 Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs, Miss. 39564.
