Ann Broadus, a native of Basin, Miss., and a resident of Mobile, Ala., died at her home Monday, April 19, 2004, at the age of 75. Mrs. Broadus was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Broadus; her parents, Ranson and Dena Clark; and two brothers, Farce and Harce Clark. She is survived by three sons, William Wayne Broadus of Mobile, Larry Lee Vice of Eunice, Texas and Bobby Joe Vice of Mobile; one brother, Glover (Ella) Clark of Lucedale, Miss.; one sister-in-law, Reathia Clark of Moss Point; one special niece, Diane Simmons; other nieces, nephews and relatives.
FISCHER
Christopher "Chris" A. Fischer, 11 of Moss Point, Miss. died April 18, 2004. Chris was born
Sept. 22, 1992 in Pascagoula, Miss. He attended Church on the Rock of Pascagoula, Miss. and was a student at Lizana Elementary School in Gulfport, Miss. He is survived by his parents, William Fischer and Loretta Holifield; two brothers, Joshua Holifield and Nicholas Fischer all of Moss Point, Miss.; grandparents, Wayne and Lynette Varner of Moss Point, Miss., and Roy and Betty Bearb of Lafayette, La.; great-grandmother, Lena Baker of Batesville, Miss.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
GLIDEWELL
Mrs. Vivian Maude Glidewell, age 81, died April 18, 2004 at Providence Hospital, Mobile, Ala. Mrs. Glidewell was a native of Bothwell, Miss., and a resident of Lucedale, Miss. She was a homemaker, member of the WMU and Sunday School teacher at the Barton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Catherine Howell; one grandson, Dustin Lee Scott. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Glidewell, Lucedale; one son, Gene Frederick Glidewell, Pascagoula, Miss.; daughter-in-law, Peggy Glidewell, Pascagoula; two grandchildren, Jerry Allen Scott Jr., Angela Scott Beavers; one great-grandchild, Allison Michelle Beavers; two brothers, Clyde Gilley, Leakesville, Miss. and Joe Gilley, Lucedale; one sister, Verniece Rigney, Lizella, Ga.
MEYER
Mr. Jack Arthur Meyer, 53, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Monday, April 19, 2004 in Pascagoula. He was born
Feb. 13, 1951 in La Jolla, Calif., graduated from Watsonville High School and served six years in the United States Navy. He was employed by Northrop-Grumman Ship Systems of Pascagoula as an electronics technician for 27 years. Mr. Meyer was a devoted member of Church on the Rock in Pascagoula and developed a special bond with Rev. Tommy Fortenberry. Mr. Meyer was preceded in death by his father, Mr. William Meyer. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mrs. Bobbie Meyer of Pascagoula; his mother, Mrs. Jean Williamson Meyer of Jamestown, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Lisa Ray of Moss Point; two daughters and a son-in-law, Delores Ezell of Pascagoula, and Jackie and Michael Gregor of Gautier; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and George Marinovich of Bellevue, Wash., and Cheryl and Johnie Garrett of Hollister, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Tracy Meyer and his wife of Sonora, Calif.; grandchildren, Liz and Mike Conner of Tulsa, Okla., Jill and Tommy Thomas and Mia Free, all of Pascagoula, Lauren, Breanna, and Abigail Gregor of Gautier, Maj. Barry and Sarah Ezell and Stephen Ezell, all of Virginia Beach, Va., Shane and Maria Ezell of Pascagoula, and Michael Dwight Ray of Moss Point; great-grandchildren, Danny and Michael Ezell, Mathew Chamberlain, Morgan and Weston Melancon, Lindsey, Tyler, and Ashleigh Thomas, Kelsey Ezell, Peyton Free, Skyler Prosser; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

James Alan Barlow, 55, a native of New Orleans, La. and resident of Moss Point, died Friday, April 16, 2004. Mr. Barlow was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in Vietnam and had been employed at Estabrook Ford in Pascagoula for many years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Lyn Barlow. Survivors include his daughter, Kathrine June Barlow, and his former wife, Nancy Barlow, both of Lyons, Kansas; one brother, Kenneth R. Barlow of Escatawpa; and one sister, Linda Hoffman of California.

Effie Olivia Garriga, 86, of Kiln, Miss., died Monday, April 19, 2004, in Kiln, Miss. She was a native of Kiln, Miss. and spent most of her life in Pascagoula, Miss. before moving back to the Kiln seven years ago. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Kiln, Miss. and formerly Sacred Heart Parish in Pascagoula. She is preceded in death by her husband, Percy Garriga; parents, Victor and Polia Garriga Moran; two brothers, Agnel and Ludger Moran; and a sister, Ernie Ory. She is survived by three sons, Bert Garriga and wife Fonda of Hurley, Miss., Bruce Garriga and wife Tara of Pascagoula, Miss., Ricky Garriga and wife Kristin of Escatawpa, Miss.; two daughters, Janice Leake and husband Jerry of Kiln, Miss., Connie Bowman and husband Dennis of Pascagoula, Miss.; three sisters, Ruby Dubisson of Picayune, Miss., Cleo Bean of Pass Christian, Miss., Jewel Huch of Long Beach, Miss.; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Moran of Handsboro, Miss. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Louis Joseph Scara Jr., a native of Biloxi, Miss. and a resident of Mobile, Ala., died Friday, April 16, 2004, at a local health care facility. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after more than 30 years of service. Mr. Scara is survived by his companion, Louise Tharp of Mobile; his children, Louis I. Scara of Latimer, Miss.; Rhonda Allen of Hurley, Miss., and Billy Scara of Biloxi, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Ricky Scara (USMC), Brian Scara (USN), Shane Scara (USMC), Christina Scara, Gina Buehl, Jason Allen and Katie Cox Scara; four great-grandchildren, Victoria Scara, Gracy Scara, Stephanie Buehl and Brin Buehl; other relatives and friends.

HOOD
JAMES L. HOOD, 71, of Vancleave, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at his residence. He was born
Aug. 11, 1932, in Ullin, Ill., and has been a resident of Jackson County for 50 years. Mr. Hood married
Aubrey Ice Hood on April 29, 1952, and they have been married
for 52 years. He was of the Baptist faith and was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hood was the former co-owner of Hood's Feed and Seed in Vancleave. He was a past owner of Borden Distributors in Moss Point and former employee of Sunbeam Bread Company in Pascagoula.

JAMES PARKER, 77, of Lucedale, Miss., died April 17, 2004. George County Funeral Home, Lucedale.
DAVIDSON
Mildred Eley Davidson, 74, of Denver, Pa., died April 12, 2004, at Maple Farm Nursing Center in Akron, Pa. She was of the Catholic faith, a mother and homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Johnie and Ada Lee of Jackson Avenue in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born
and raised in Pascagoula. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard B. Davidson Sr., in 1984.
DAVIS
Louella Davis, 86, Ocean Springs, formerly of Gautier, died Friday, April 16, 2004 in Ocean Springs. She was born
April 18, 1917 in Laurel, Miss., and had been a resident of Jackson County for 51 years. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church in Ocean Springs for 15 years and was the current pianist for her church. She was the former co-owner of Mona and Louella's Beauty Shop in Pascagoula. Louella was a talented artist and painter and will be greatly missed my her family, church family, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ontzlow Davis; two brothers, Buren and Jack Davis.
REESE
William Rudolph Reese Jr., 45, was a lifetime resident of Biloxi, Miss. He served in the U.S. Armed Services (Army) for 12 years. He worked for Ingalls for seven years. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Alfred J. Coleman.
SMITH
Clayton Waite (Snuffy) Smith, Cmdr. USN, Ret., 84, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Monday, April 12, 2004, at River Chase Village Nursing Home in Gautier, Miss. He was born
March 19, 1920, in Bellevue, Pa. and was raised in Schenectady, N.Y. Cmdr. Smith was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Pascagoula, Miss. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. in 1943, and retired in 1967 as commander. During his naval career, Snuff commanded the USS Skagit, the USS Catamount and the Flotilla One. Later he was employed by Rockwell Industries in the space program, then by Litton Industries, transferring to Pascagoula in 1971 and retiring in 1986.

Emma Ann Haislip, 62, of Hurley, Miss., died March 24, 2004, in Pascagoula. She was born
May 19, 1940, in Creswell, North Carolina.
HALL
Alice Reagan Hall, 90, of Jackson County, Miss. was born
May 30, 1913, in Smokemont, N.C., and died April 15, 2004, in Pascagoula, Miss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hall Jr.; son, Walter E. Hall; brother, William C. Reagan; and sisters, Oatamae Stratton, Cordie Davenport and Sally Dockery.
HORTON
Edna Lou Horton, 86, of Lucedale, Miss., passed away April 15, 2004, in Pascagoula, Miss. Ms. Horton was a native of Grenada County, Miss., and lived in Jackson, Miss., for many years, where she was employed by Allstate Insurance Co. She had been a resident of Lucedale, Miss., since 1993.

Mrs. Augustine P. Durden, 58, of Pascagoula, Miss., was born
Dec. 12, 1945, in Monroeville, Ala. Mrs. Durden passed on to eternal life on Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at her residence.
GRIFFIN
Mrs. Susan Sue' Griffin, age 46, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Griffin was a native of Rensselaer, Ind., and a resident of the Gulf Coast for five years. She was a former resident of Thomasville, Ga. Mrs. Griffin retired from the Singing River Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Moss Point and was a member of the Krewe of Ulysses Carnival Group. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Gilbert, and a sister, Brenda Gay.

May 19, 1940, in Cresswell, N.C. Mrs. Haislip operated the Jiffy Burger in Hurley from 1988 to 1992. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Jason Downs Sr. and Mrs. Inez Downs; sister, Mrs. Peggy Novak; and two brothers, Mr. Calvin Downs and Mr. JC Downs.
