Mrs. Izola Miles, 84, of Lucedale, Miss., died Monday, March 24, 2003, in Glen Oaks Nursing Center, Lucedale, Miss. She was born icon in Bexley, Miss., and was a lifelong resident.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mr. Alexander Miles; and son, Mr. St. T. (Altamese) Ludgood of Arcardia, Fla.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 29, 2003, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. James Baptist Church in Bexley, Miss.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m., also from the church with the Rev. Jimmy Griffin Sr. officiating.
Internment will be in St. James Baptist Church cemetery, Bexley, Miss.

POWELL
Robert E. Powell, 59, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, in Pascagoula, Miss. Mr. Powell was born icon June 14, 1943, in Mount Vernon, Ill, and was a resident of Gautier for the past 23 years. He implemented the McGruff program in Gautier and was active in Ala-Teen. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
Survivors include his companion of 27 years, Dianna Powell of Gautier; six sons, Kevin Powell of Georgetown, Texas, Robert Powell of Yosemite, Ken., Christopher Powell of Franklin Creek, Miss., David Powell of Van, Texas, Timothy Powell of Gautier, and Don Powell of Gautier; one daughter, Angela Powell of Moss Point; two sisters, Sally Starr of Texaco, Ill., and Charlotte Gilsinger of Vandalia, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday, March 28, at 2 p.m., at the O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gautier, with visitation two hours prior to service.
Interment will be Monday, March 31, at the Bethel cemetery in Mount Vernon, Ill., at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hospice of Light.

BUCHANAN
Mrs. Bessie Mae (Morgan) Buchanan passed away March 26, 2003. She was born icon near Jonestown, Miss., April 25, 1904. She moved to Arkansas in 1918. She professed Jesus Christ at the age of 12 years and has been honoring and serving her Lord and His Church since that time. She taught Sunday School for many years, saw many people saved and was a faithful minister's wife. She married icon Lurther F. (Bud) Morgan on Jan. 22, 1919. He became a Missionary Baptist minister. To this union was born icon three children: Virgie Lee, Dewey Elwood and James Hugh. Bud passed away July 13, 1957. Dewey passed away June 13, 1991. She married icon John Bryan Buchanan on July 18, 1966. He passed away March 20, 1981. She lived around Truman, Nettleton and Jonesboro for many years. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church of Jonesboro before moving to Gautier, Miss. in 1996 to live with her son, where she was a member of the Gautier Baptist Church. She lived in Wade, Miss. when she passed away.

CARROLL
Mr. Henry Benjamin Carroll Sr., 73, of Houma, Louisiana, formerly of Moss Point, died Monday, March 24, 2003, in Houma. He was born icon March 5, 1930, in Mobile, Ala. He was a member of Unity Lodge #267 F&AM and the Houma Shrine Club. Mr. Carroll was a 32 degree mason and a member of the Jerusalem Temple of New Orleans, La. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. Frank and Mrs. Estella Carroll, and a sister, Juanita Tindell.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Carroll of Houma, La.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Frank C. and Pam Carroll, Richard B. and Bobbie Carroll, and Henry "Bengie" Jr. and Rhonda Carroll, all of Houma, La.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and George Wideman of Brilliant, Ala., and Karen and Jesse Bergeron of Moss Point; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Lois Carroll, Alvin and Virginia Carroll, and Richard and Jeanette Carroll; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Mike Noblitt; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 27, at 2 p.m., from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. M.L. McCormick officiating.
Interment will follow in Orange Grove cemetery, Moss Point.

DUFEK
Joseph Duskin Dufek III, 69, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in Pascagoula, Miss. Mr. Dufek was born icon April 1, 1933, in Ashland, Wis., and was a lifelong resident of the coastal area. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pascagoula, and enjoyed his retirement painting and working with wood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frances Dufek.
Survivors include his wife, Marvie Dufek of Pascagoula; one son, David (Annette) Dufek of San Diego, Calif.; four daughters, Kelly Elam (John) Lees of Pascagoula, Lindsey Dufek (Mike) Vereker of Ocean Springs, Miss., Robin Elam (Robert) Adams of Gautier, Susan Dufek (Bernard) Gates of Biloxi, Miss.; one sister, JoAnn Russell of Ocean Springs, Miss.; nine grandchildren; and devoted friends, Tommy and Dot Wells of Pascagoula.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, at the First Methodist Church of Pascagoula, with visitation one hour prior to service. The Rev. Gary Knight will officiate the service.
Interment will follow at Griffin cemetery.

LADNIER
Robert James Ladnier, 65, of Pecan, Miss., died March 24, 2003, at his residence. He was born icon Dec. 10, 1937, in Jackson County. He was employed as a crane operator with Halter Marine. Mr. Ladnier was preceded in death by his parents, Frank James and Lola B. Ladnier.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann Ladnier of Pecan, Miss.; daughters and sons-in-law, Kenneth and Ginger Ladnier of Mobile, Ala., Delinda "Kookie" and Kevin Ready of Orange Grove, Miss., Deborah Southern and David Dosset of Vancleave, Miss., Rhonda and Steve Herring of Stone County, Miss.; brothers, Howard Ladnier of Vancleave, Miss., and Anthony Ladnier of Fountain Bleu, Miss.; sister, Ann Franklin of Fountain Bleu; grandchildren and spouses, Alicia Ladnier and David Necaise, Robert Ready, Amber Hester, Charles Southern, Wayne Ladnier, Karen Ready, Kelli Davis, Thomas Ready, Hunter Southern, and Steven Herring; one great grandchild, Jade Necaise, a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 26, at 10 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Alton Stokes officiating.
Interment will be at W.R. Clark Memorial cemetery in Forts Lake, Miss.

LISHMAN
David Lamar Lishman Sr., 52, of Gautier, Miss., died in the morning of Tuesday, March 25, 2003, in Philadelphia, Pa. He was born icon May 24, 1950, in Kosciusko, Miss., and has been a resident of Gautier for 46 years. He retired from Chevron Texaco Refinery in Pascagoula with 30 years of service. He was currently employed with Worldwide Labor and Support of Pascagoula. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pascagoula. He was a loving son, husband, father and friend, and will be sadly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Gregg Lishman, and his nephew, Gregory Brock Lishman.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Sue Lishman, Gautier; father, Lexie Lishman, Kosciusko, Miss.; son, David Lamar Lishman Jr., Gautier; stepson, SGT Jeremy Torrence, El Paso, Texas; stepdaughter, Sonya Bardwell, Jackson, Miss.; one granddaughter; and eight step-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jerome and Nina Spence, Kosciusko, Miss.; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Jim Spence, Winona, Miss.; two nephews, Dr. Perry Lishman, Kosciusko, Miss., Mark Lishman, Atlanta, Ga.
Visitation will be Friday, March 28, from 6 to 9 p.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
Funeral service will be Saturday, March 29, at 10 a.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, with the Rev. James V. Miller officiating.
Graveside service will be at Sanford Warden cemetery, located next to Midway Baptist Church in the Midway Community near Sumrall, Miss., and west of Hattiesburg.
Active pallbearers will be Cleve Bond Jr., Wayne "Dump" Cook Jr., Gary Kosztur, J. B. Morgan, Jim Reeves, Mark Robbins, Stan Keebler and Don Simpson.

MARION
Gail Renee Marion, 27, of Escatawpa, Miss., departed her life Monday, March 24, 2003. Gail was a 1994 graduate of Moss Point High School. She was born icon Sept. 20, 1975, in Pascagoula, Miss. She was employed at Wal-Mart in Ocean Springs.
Gail was preceded in death by her grandfather and grandmother, Edward Marion and Jessie Tatum-Marion.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her father and mother, Wallace and Mary Marion of Escatawpa, Miss.; three devoted sisters, Doris Gardner of Escatawpa, Jessie Marion of Pascagoula, and Sandra (Clarcen) Thompson of Escatawpa; seven devoted brothers, Wallace (Kimberly) Gardner Marion, of Escatawpa, David Gardner of Escatawpa, Wayne Marion of Moss Point, Charles (Barbara) Marion of Moss Point, Lonnie (Thrish) Marion of Biloxi, Miss., Johnny Marion of Pascagoula, and Steven Marion of Moss Point; a grandmother, Verdell Holland of Jacksonville, Fla.; two devoted aunts, Annie Bell Williams and Lilly Davis; one devoted uncle, A.C. Marion; five devoted friends, Tomeka Harris, Beth Buckley, LaShunda Mosley, Tonya McCovery, and Linda Wells Hinton; two devoted cousins, Nicole Marion and Nicole Knowles; and a host of other devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Summerville United Methodist Church, 4100 Dutch Bayou Road, Escatawpa.
Funeral services will begin promptly at 2 p.m., from the church.
Interment will be in First Baptist cemetery, Escatawpa, Miss.

MCELROY
Mrs. Peggy Jo Walls McElroy, 57, of Gautier, Miss., died March 26, 2003, at her residence. She was born icon June 28, 1945, in Moss Point, Miss. Mrs. McElroy was a homemaker and member of Bethel Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. E.O. and Mrs. Bessie Walls.
Survivors include husband, Mr. Jimmy McElroy of Gautier; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy D. and Paula McElroy of Gautier, Johnny G. McElroy of Grand Bay, Ala., Steven and Jennifer McElroy of Gautier; brothers, Paul F. Walls of Gautier, Kenny O. Walls of Escatawpa, David Walls of Helena and Durwood Walls of Calhoun City, Miss.; sisters, Ruby Shelton and Zelma Kent, both of Carrollton, Miss., Nora Ruth Gregg of Caroll Co., Miss., Hazel Broadus, Doris Hawkins and Alice Faye Rosamond, all of Gautier; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 28, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 29, at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Pascagoula with the Rev. Randy Griffin and the Rev. Joe Spence officiating.
Interment will be at Crestlawn cemetery in Ocean Springs, Miss.

SINCLAIR
Mr. Dean L. Sinclair, 61, of Ocean Springs and the Larue community, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, in Ocean Springs, Miss. He was a lifelong resident of the community. Mr. Sinclair was employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 37 years, worked many years as a volunteer fire chief of the Latimer Fire Department, and was a member of the Larue Baptist Church. Mr. Sinclair was also a member of the Coast Cruisers. He was preceded in death by his father, Mike D. Sinclair; mother, Helen J. Sinclair; and sister, Mary Evelyn Varanay.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Loretta J. Sinclair; three daughters, Bobbie Jean Sinclair, Deborah Darlean Sinclair Holland, and husband, Ralph James Holland, Sheila Marie Sinclair Hoefler and husband, Robert Mark Hoefler; sister, Patricia Ann Harris of Lucedale, Miss.; six grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ocean Springs Chapel. On Friday, March 28, there will be a chapel service at noon at Ocean Springs Chapel.
Burial will be in Biloxi National cemetery.
